Well, someone had the connections to rival Belle, as yet another friend or acquaintance had come to vex the ghost, adding to his growing bewilderment. His hair was red, his clothes white, and his power level as easy to dismiss as his words. "Perhaps it is your head that is in need of being put to use. From your words alone I can tell it hasn't seen much action. Ever." More interesting was the drivel spewed by the Dion fellow. Pompous prick? Funny that a stray so alien to the saiyan homeworld and its culture thought himself of equal footing as the Duke. And yet he certainly had the potential to become a super saiyan, so he would have to be dealt with post haste. The golden transformation had become so much common as of late, with little owing to the traits of the fighter... But against a phantom saiyan? That tactical and existential edge gave Kalabas a no small amount of confidence for this coming fight. Lizards and gristle, hardly a workout for the Duke. "Hard feelings, earthling? You will be lucky if I even care to remember having fought you. Give me a show, perhaps."From caves Kalabas did not care to seal off, perhaps as an ease for his opponents to run, came two majins. One red, one blue, both looking oddly sentient and sapient for gumfolk. The red one even dared to point at the Duke. "Is that how you truly talk or are you simply putting on airs? I like you sweetmeats stuttering and slobbering words even that redhead can comprehend. Perhaps you simply came to get your pound of ghost flesh? Can only be that, I bet you care as much for this mountain as I do."
"And you-" his attention turned to Russé, who busied himself looking at a picture. A gust of wind ripped it from the living saiyan's hand, delivering it into Kalabas' greedy talons with mocking grace "It is quite rude to look at anything but the person you are talking to." the Duke's hands blurred in a burst of speed, shredding the picture to white clumps of fiber as he threw them over the small crowd, a light drizzle of snow "Beautiful." he finished, igniting the shreds. "Alas," Kalabas walked from his stand, descending step after step to meet the challengers "you are gathered to protect a mountain that could not be further from my interests. Rather, my target is you." he pointed at Aurora, fingertip jabbed against the cracks in her biogem, force rippling from his body and into hers "Come at me then! All of you! Maybe then will you be able to nick my finger!" he vanished in a puff of smoke, reappearing above Dion, a hoisted knee charged at the back of his neck. PL: 2,280,000 Damage: 139% KP: 5/7

Aurora's brow only furrowed further as Kalabas spoke. She had been pleased to see the arrival of more reinforcements, even if she didn't recognise a couple of them. Despite their comparatively low power levels, any assistance could be the turning point required to defeat Kalabas. The ghostly man was wounded, but still a tangible threat and in a one on one fight the only people who would be walking out would be the ones he allowed to. Her body tensed as he began to make his way towards her, red eyes narrowing even as she grabbed for the flows within her. Draw them together... she was so close to full power again... just a little bit mo- her eyes snap as wide as they could as she suddenly felt the power of Kalabas' touch upon her chest. or, more specifically, upon her open and sparking wound. "AHH!" She screams out as he strikes at it, falling to her knees onto the snowy floor, both bladed arms coming up to clutch at the wound as her breath hitches. The pain tore through her body in a ripple as her wings curl around Aurora protectively, but not so close together that she doesn't see Kalabas disappear to- to who knows where.
Up. She needed to get up. Aurora wasn't sure what was going on behind her, but the battle had well and truly started and something like this was not going to keep her down. Come on... this pain was nothing compared to what she had experienced. Arcose. Brench. They had been worse than this. Slowly, Aurora's wings spread once more. Stabbing into the snow beside them with their vicious talons, Aurora steadily gets back to her feet, body shaking. Sparks fly from her cracked gem, even as she closes her eyes once more. Find the flows. Take a firm hold of them. Then... bring them together. Purple began to shift and alternate in colour to a royal blue, as all around everyone the cave began to... shift. The walls rippled, the pillar's thrumming began to pound ever louder, the snow shifted and gravitated towards her and above them all an unearthly howl rippled out. Yet Aurora knew that she wasn't there yet, and in this fight resources mattered. The flow was... janky. Weak. There wasn't enough power within her yet. She couldn't afford to fully transform just yet. She just... needed a few more seconds. Her armour faded between purple and blue, even as all around them the motes of blue light began to coalesce within her palms and heart Gem.
Just a little longer. She hoped her friends could hold on long enough.

"I have no clue if you're attempting to be condescending, or if you're just that thick-headed, but I have more Saiyan blood within me than you do your entire corporeal body. You are what the universe considers a literal shade of your former 'Saiyan Might'," Dion spat harshly in retaliation to Kalabas' poking of Dion's heritage. While the bartender wasn't the run of the mill, average Saiyan, he was for sure as hell just as much part of the warrior as was the Duke. No matter how disgusted or revolted the poltergeist powerhouse was to be about it. Making this phantom menace eat his own words would be the most satisfying, as well as possibly the most crucial moment, of his entire life- looks like training in advance for such a moment worked out in the end afterward. Still though, while Dion could come up with consistent witticism and confidence to match Kalabas' inherent cruelty and hubris, the fact of the matter was still that he was in fact the strongest one here. And while it seemed as though somehow he had injured himself while Dion had been absent (he wanted to say that it was Auroras doing, however, his instincts and deductive reasoning told him otherwise) it still was very much a one sided battle without a large transformative event of one of their own fighters taking place.
Yes, of course he was alluding to the possibility of finally utilizing the legendary power of the Super Saiyan, but it was also set in stone that the young man still had a very limited grip on the matter, and the only thing he really did know was that it was awakened when one was pushed against the wall, backed into a corner, with no easy way out. Circumstances in which if he did find himself in and was unable to make good on reaching the aspired state would most certainly mean death. So, Dion kept such a form as a last resort, only to be used under the most dire of circumstances.
The constant teasing and denigration of what Dion considered his teammates only helped to set fuel to the flame, the bartender managing, only barely, to keep his composure in light of what would happen if he were to simply fire off on all cylinders. Plus, he took it as a slight game- if his verbal abuse were to get to him, he'd lose. And he was sure as hell not losing to one who didn't have Saiyan blood flowing through their veins. Looking toward Suri, and then at Russe immediately after he had burned his picture up though (which he found to be flatly unnecessary, by the by, he got the message that he was oh so mean and scary a minute or two ago), he was worried that they themselves would be unable to keep themselves under control. He began to raise his arm up preemptively, about to say a few words of encouragement to both as suddenly Kalabas began to make his way down toward his opposition, Dion taking quiet note of the fact that he was both figuratively and literally bringing himself down to their level, just as Kalabas took the first offensive move of the bout- slamming his fingertips into Aurora's damaged biogem parts to Dions dismay.
"Auro-" was all he was able to get out as suddenly the spotlight was immediately refocused onto him, with Dion sensing Kalabas' energy way before he had made the attempt to hit him, but his body being too slow to react. Kalabas' knee slammed into the back of Dion's neck, and for a moment, the young Saiyan was unable to feel anything really.
..And then a fiery shock of some of the worst pain he's ever felt cut straight through his brain, his entire upper body shaking in response to the blow as he was nearly sent straight to his knees. Dions hands immediately shot out in front of him as he fell nearly face first, instead choosing to press his body excluding his knees to the floor as he said in a gritty tone, "I bend the knee to one being only, and you will never be a God-!" He quickly spun around, raising a palm in front of his face as he pointed it toward Kalabas palm first, letting out a haughty yell as he fired off several close range Ki blasts straight at the spirits face. He needed to widen the distance between he and him, in order to give the others enough time to react.
The quivers of fear and fright were over.
Nothing remained but the rush of battle.

Let out a small sigh as the ghost foolishly shrugged off his suggestion, a course of action that would have made his day so much easier. As it stood he knew the ghost was right about his lack of experience but it did not make it any easier to take, his teachers warnings about his lack of training drawing a small chuckle in the back of his mind. Still he could not just walk away form this fight and if he made it out he was gonna train like tomorrow, the next fight he was in he was gonna be damned if he was one in the need of protection. Still it seemed this phantom was quite sure of himself, a ego to match Dions words and he himself would have to agree that pompous was a perfect choice of words. Perhaps that was a good way to distract him? To keep his eyes on him so Aurora had time to recover and counterattack ending this fight or so he hoped.
"The guy who is already dead is trying to lecture the man who is still alive? Perhaps I could give you a lesson on how to stay alive but then again if heaven was willing to give you a second chance you might as well fuck it up a second time right?"
He taunted the man before he noticed the two new arrivals and it seemed both Majins had arrived at a similar time, their red and blue colors quite a contrast with each other as they entered the cave. He did not know either one enough for them to risk their lives for but he was no less grateful to see them, their arrival giving him a small bit of hope that they might make it though this. With a faint hope rising in his chest hes started Lifting his sword only for a battle to happen in a flash around him, his one action of placing his sword at the ready was all it took for the small scuffle to occur around him. One moment he was staring at the ghost and the next Aurora was screaming behind him, a sound that chilled him to the bone as he whipped around to see her on her knees clutching the cracked bio gem. Shocked he watched the ghost vanish again going after a new target, another of his team his target but who? As if to answer his question the sound of Dion's grunt of pain reached his ears just before he felt his ki blasts explode near him, the force of these simple blasts enough to stagger the ginger. Letting out a small curse he finally saw a opening or at least what he thought was a opening as the smoke filled the small cave and he leaped towards the dukes ki, his sword glowing a bright red as he prepared to strike him though the derbies.
At some back comer of the cave his clone still waited hidden form sight as it waited for a chance to enter the fight, a small opening in the dukes defenses. On one hand staying hidden kept him alive and gave him a chance to strike if he needed to but even so he felt like he would not amount to much of push came to shove. It was times like this he really hated listening to his feelings but he was already to deep to simply walk away, a choice that went against his very nature. Damn Aurora for getting him in this even if it was not her choice, his anger really was empty though as he had the option to walk away even now.

Sanbu's PL: 100'000
The scope of the scuffle was one the Majin still sought to understand but failed to do so in grandiose fashion. Just who were some of these people? That kind of information was not accessible to Sanbu at the moment and it left him feeling very split. On one hand there lain chaos out and about, battles were happening for reasons unknown to him. On the other was another fight blind to his eyes as he was none the wiser in this event. Though his home or at the very least his birthplace was in the crossfire there was still a mixed sentiment to be had. Context, it was what every individual needed in life if they intended to make any decision affecting the world in which they lived in. As far as his eye could see there stood no real friends or allies hither or yon. Most if not all of these faces and power-levels were not recognizable to him and so he started to wonder. Deep within the recesses of his mind gears started to grind and turn against each other. <Must I be so ready to have a decision right now? For all I know the sides here are not so clear, perhapsI ought reconsider who I stand with. There is no telling where this might lead and what of these people here? Besides Reno, I know not who compels my character to quick action. So as the conversation I had with that Konatsian many days ago. What reward might there be for following the noble path? Is there even such an idea as noble in this kind of a fray?> Sanbu remained still for the time being. His eyes lay heavy with the stain of vigilance, inevitably there was still something here at stake that he considered treasured. But of the individuals present? It was difficult to say whether or not he should participate or leave entirely. He could not help but feel that this would not be a quiet exchange. The Majin returned full focus on Kalabas, he would expose his thoughts for what they were. "Sweetmeats? You have an amusing name for us Majin, it's a genuine first. This mountain has some kind of meaning to me, hard as it may seem to some. I have no ill-will but I cannot help but get intrigued by you and your company. The cavity of a Majin knows no specific preference, ghost or otherwise I'm sure you know. I simply desire to see things come to a close. By any means possible." What came of the ghost's brutality left no such lasting impression on his countenance. He would watch with moderate fascination. He was not rooting for a side just yet, it was too early to decide if it was worth the say so or not. No one stood with him as an ally so he could not be so certain if he could fight for anyone. Things were much too unpredictable for that kind of an effort in his eyes. TAGS: Additional Note:

Post by Suri on Feb 7, 2020 7:08:46 GMT -6
As she entered the caverns and therefore the conflict within, Suri's glance darted around, from here to there, from person to person. She needed to know what was going on, fast.
Dion! He was here, Suri had found him right away. And Suri saw more familiar faces, Russé, and Reno too. Who was Reno's friend, though? Who was on who's side? There were a few more there, a strange-looking Arcosian lady who seemed to be pretty hurt, a rather calm red Majin, and a Saiyan...ghost(!), apparantly. Suri stayed quiet and listened to the conversation. It seemed the phantom's side wished to destroy the mountain, though Kalabas himself didn't seem too interested in it. Still, was that why everyone else came here, to defend Frappe? They would risk their lives to protect this mountain?
Suri's eyes met Dion's for a moment, and Suri tried her best to smile at him reassuringly. After Sanbu stated his intentions, Suri would step forward and say this. "N-Now, no need for rudeness, sirs! I don't know what this mountain really means to everyone, but we don't have to fight about it, r-right? I'm sure we can all talk it out, and..." Oh, but whatever they did, they would have to make it quick... "Er, hey, does anyone know how to melt really cold ice? There's a Heran lady outside trapped in some ice! I tried to thaw her out, but the ice just wouldn't melt, and..."
Huh? The Saiyan spirit ripped a piece of paper, which Suri didn't manage to see how. A look of confusion ran across her face, and it stayed as Kalabas flew down. Before Suri could react, the Arcosian had already been struck by the ghost. "Wha-" She was Kalabas's target?! And then he challenged everyone else in the cave. "W-Wait-" Dion was the next victim to Kalabas's attack, and yet, Suri couldn't even react to his movements, until it was too late.
The fight had begun, yet unlike her friends', Suri's fear remained, only growing stronger, and stronger... A chill ran down the Majin's back. Was it even possible to fight against someone like that? Were they going to make it out alive? Would it not be better if they just ran away?!
Worries kept forming in her mind. Suri stood there as her shivering only got more intense, and she started hyperventilating. Suri felt colder, and colder, as her body temperature kept dropping at an unnatural rate. And then she heard popping, the sound of holes forming in her clothes. The pale blue Majin looked down to realize that from her mouth, ears, and steam holes, she was letting out icy fog like a fog machine. Suri's fear and worries were destabilizing her magic, and excess magical energy was rushing out...
NO! Suri slapped her own cheeks. She needed to stay calm, FOCUS! Otherwise she wasn't going to be of any help.
Okay, so...what would she do now? Suri briefly took a side-glance at Aurora. Suri couldn't sense energy, but she could see the glowing lights and the snow moving, and feel the mountain shaking. Was the Arcosian powering up? That was a good call.
While Suri was both cold and scared, her magic was making her stronger, tougher, faster. But it probably wasn't enough to be helpful. Suri knew she had more in her...and she had to bring that out. Suri's body got covered in a blizzard-like white aura as her ki burst out, pushing away her icy magic fog. Suri needed to...bring them together, and keep them together. Longer than she did whenever she used her energy blasts. Longer than she ever had. She just hoped she wouldn't fall into a coma this time.
Suri kept her body still, her breathing steady, and drew her own magic and ki inward. Her aura dimmed, and her fog started to get sucked in.

An important lesson to learn is never to take your eyes off a potential foe, or they will shred away any hopes and dreams right in front of you and that's exactly what this bastard did. Russé's fingers no longer held anything solid, the photo he wanted to express a tender side of himself is now in possession of Kalabas from a gust of wind, ripping the precious memento into pieces, becoming one with the cool air around them. "Hey! I was having a moment you fucking asshole!" there was nothing the boy can do except expresse his disdain for his actions. Kalabas wasn't even trying to subtle about his jerk-ass attitude, he called his work of art "beautiful" and claimed Russe is being rude for not paying attention to the person he was talking to, calling the kettle black. Everyone else had various remarks responding to sass being thrown at them, interestingly a quote from the guy with red hair mentioned Kalabas being already dead. Initially, Russé assumed he's just being witty but upon closer inspection, the half-Saiyan can see the Saiyan's body appearing transparent, welp that's another strange phenomenon added to the list of weird things he's encountered in life. "Hold on, this guy is actually a ghost? How is that possible?" until now he's never seen a ghost before, believing if someone died there is no coming back from the afterlife, Kalabas's existence here has made him wonder about the meaning of death, do you truly go away forever? Suri out of everyone is reluctant to fight and brought up someone being trapped in ice, and asking if anyone knew how to melt down the cold architecture to free this Heran woman, gaining Russé's attention "I'm not sure if I know how to melt ice but I can try" if someone needs help the Saiyan will be there to provide aid. However, Kalabas has other ideas revealing he cared less about the mountain and his actual target is Aurora, jabbing fingertips into the poor girl's cracked gem on her chest. a scream of anguish followed soon after. "Aurora!" Russé cried and eyes glared at Kalabas in anger, he didn't know this Arcosian very well but it was still a cruel act to do on someone. The fiendish ghost taunted for everyone to come at him, then Russé saw one of his close friend being struck by the neck from a surprise attack, the maneuver happened so quickly there was no time to warn him. "Dion!" Russé exclaimed. that's it! No one brings harm to his friends and thinks they won't get an ass-kicking! "Get away from him!" The young half-Saiyan barked then flew directly towards Kalabas, attempting to attack the ghost with a string of consecutive spin-kicks. The environment suddenly shifted around in the caves but he's too busy trying to fend off this dirtbag from tearing Dion limb-from-limb to get a proper look, but the Saiyan can tell it has something to do with Aurora, judging by where the snow is going, and a howl akin to a ferocious warrior. He hoped she is doing okay, he can only imagine getting hit in the chest like that must hurt like hell. Russé Power Level: 45,000 Damage: 0% KP: 3/3

Try as he might to appear uncaring, inexorable, a force from the unknown beyond come to destroy these sordid fools that had joined forces to fight him, Kalabas was still very much none of that. As his knee connected with the earthling saiyan's neck his head whipped in the direction of a scream more visceral than he had expected, to see Aurora on her knees, wings and arms curled over the shimmering wound. His attention returned to Dion, again fulminating as in his head echoed the words 'shade of former saiyan might'. What did this scrap of flesh know of might, much less saiyans? Swatting aside the first blasts aimed at his head, the ghost swept up a flying Russé to use as a shield. He let go of the hold he had on the blue-haired saiyan's wrist, sending him hurling at mach speed towards the short saiyan with a double kick to the back. That ought to put them away. For good measure torrents of ki stormed from the Duke's hand, entombing both fighters in ice and rock. Alive, for now. "Well-" something caught the Duke's attention, as a nagging fly would a normal person's. He turned, almost placid, hand raised and finger unflinching against Reno's blade. "WELL!" Kalabas changed the grip to his free hand, revealing the finger that had stopped the attack. As dead, pale and cursed as the rest of the ghost, the wagging digit bore no cut or mark "Well..." he repeated, eyes deadened again, even the smile having faded "While I could pretend to appreciate the offer of life advice from pissant rubbish as worthless as you, I am more interested in your little prick." With a power disparity in the millions, a single beam was enough to send a fiery Reno towards his saiyan comrades. A Reno, as the Duke had caught the signature of the other one, who he winked and thrusted the stolen sword at. A ray of red lightning roared from the tip, more of a potshot than a legitimate attempt at murder. "'Tis no Fateburn..." he mumbled audibly, juggling the handle from hand to hand "Hm... Nèi jiàn? More like-" steel and ki burst in an explosion of light, rippling the warrior's hair and cape, the magical sword no more than shards lost in the snow "Dojyaaan~!" he joked full of life and exuberance, the silence that had finally settled more thunderous than any applause. He basked in it wholeheartedly, arms raised and ki rays as shiny as flawless rubies. He was a magnificent red star. He sighed, the spark of life lost again, his complete disinterest in Suri shown as his immaterial form blinked through her. Rather, it was Sanbu that had caught the wraith's interest. He landed near the hermit with a soft crunch of snow, the absolute arrogance of a man who could not be touched. "This fight is taxing me, truth be told. Not physically, but intellectually. It is almost as if being in the presence of such concentrated idiocy is beginning to rub off on me. A lack of power is understandable, this is Earth after all, but technique? That won't do, I might catch a bad habit or two should I indulge their senseless battle craze. Heh."
"Hear me now, majin." he stressed the use of the proper noun, the sobriety of a battleworn commander returned "I hold command over my comrade, the one so vested in destroying this place, and a life-sworn promise taken by the other that I am just aching to see redeemed. I understand that it is in your interest that they do not see the destruction through, yes?" he punctuated with a hand flourish, beams firing off his fingers, looping over his shoulder, and pelting the three warriors that had come to Aurora's aid "What's more, I understand you have the power, the good sense, to understand that there must be a reason why these lice still draw breath. Truth is, I am not terribly concerned with this mission, I have more worthwhile foes to fight, and little time to be wasted here. Even the arcosian, on the cusp of rising to a form almost half as powerful as this restrained manifestation of mine, will bore me to tears... ... ... However!" he clapped his hands, the ice under their feet no longer animated by Aurora's magic "This is where you come in. What better reason to spare this otherwise worthless mountain than a honorbound favour? Take down the lesser maggots while I busy myself with that ill-birthed space skink, and I promise on my very own soul that Frappé will stand as it always has. Proud, mighty," he hesitated, certainly there was a quality to the mountain that never he could deny? "and quiet."Yes, he liked the quiet. Like a graveyard's, but of greater reach, even reverence. Aurora's breathing was heavy and laboured, the pain in her chest refusing to subside even as the thrum of the mountain grew ever louder. Her ruby red eyes dilated unevenly, and her movements were sluggish even as she focused. All around the cave, blue light only intensified as it streamed towards the Arcosian. She... she didn't have time for pain. She didn't have the time to slow down. Her friends were fighting, but they were horribly outclassed. Only... only she could help. It was that thought that drove her onward, even as the intermittent sparks of her chest became a shower of red and blue ki. With a wordless roar, Aurora's wings flare out to the side as far as they could stretch, body shaking and shuddering as light purple gives way to a royal blue, and all around them the cave exploded. Snow and wind whirled, a localised blizzard erupting out of seemingly nowhere and filling the entirety of the cavern, even as the very walls themselves began to shift and move. Pillars of ice erupt from the floor and walls, rippling around those present as the blue of Aurora's magic collides and mingles with Kalabas' own Ki, small explosions of purple power blossoming into light where attempts upon the lives of her friends were foiled and Russe was caught by a mound of snow. All the while the thrum of the pillar in the centre began to grow to headache inducing levels... before all goes quiet.
For a moment all that can be heard is the roar and howl of Mt. Frappe's blizzard, this time in service to a woman instead of warding her off. Then, amongst the darkness generated by the swirling snow and ice, two bobbing red lights appeared. Stalking towards Kalabas, Aurora's fists clench even as her wings flex, her glowing red eyes not having any trouble spotting the powerful being. "Kalabas Strongbone." She begins, a hand coming up to form a fist. All around the dead saiyan, ice would shift and spike, converging upon and stabbing at wherever the man moved. "Wanted Criminal. Murderer. Lapdog of the Saiyan Kingdom. Fellow of monsters... and... psychopaths. Dead man." Aurora's voice weak and faltering voice rings out, coming from everywhere around them as the lights of her eyes blink out. "You are amongst the most feared and... reviled beings of all Arcose, even after your..." A grunt, and a gasp of pain that was masked by the wind, "...supposed passing." For a moment the howling returned, before with a flurry of movement Aurora's form bursts from and through the ice surrounding Kalabas, fist impacting solidly against the ghost's head.
She watched as the force of her blow sent him back, tails swishing and wings flexing in readiness, their sharp bio crystals scraping against ice that surges and ripples around her feet. "And yet, you saved... Belle. You saved me. And that's all I... need to know that you're capable of so much more good than others allow you to be." She stalks towards him, each step sending wave after wave of ice towards the powerful being before her. "However, you've threatened and hurt those around me that I'm... fond of. So for now... you must be stopped." And with that, her form blurs, before Aurora reappears in front of the ghostly being midair, a fist reared back to crash into him. She needed to buy the others time, even if it meant putting her own body on the line. It would be a worthy sacrifice. She just needed... to distract him. The pain in her chest could be ignored for now.

The bartenders eyes flared wide as Kalabas managed to near effortlessly swat away his quick fire Ki blast barrage as if it were nothing more than a gust of autumn leaves blowing in the wind. Something of which brought Dion's attention to two very important things he had to pay attention to if he were to drag everyone out of this alive, or at least, something akin to living. One, he must be able to keep his emotions under reign. Psychological and emotional warfare is exactly where this guy seemingly excelled at, which made sense- he is, was, a Saiyan, and they were always the best at bringing the worst out of their opponents both physically and mentally. Being a man who's kept a strong restraint over himself, Dion realized he needed to use such an advantage well. The second thing was that he needed to choose and play his shots accordingly. Clearly Kalabas outranked him even more than he originally thought. Not only did he have the power to back up every single one of his threats, but he also had the combat IQ as well as the confidence (albeit slightly more big-headed than it should be) in his abilities to end a fight when needed. Taking these two factors into careful account, Dion backpedaled to a point where he was a couple yards away, breathing in and out repeatedly at a steady pace in order to help slow everything down as he continued firing off several high velocity Ki blasts.
Though, he didn't get much time to do so, as the Duke of death suddenly grabbed onto Russe and used him as a makeshift meat-shield. His eyes narrowed as he quickly stopped the stream of blasts, a few of them managing to hit the hybrid head on- though Dion was sure he would be able to tank such blows with relative ease. As Kalabas threw Russe at Dion, he quickly raised his palm, facing it toward Russe as he exalted a small Kiai in order to both halt Russe in his tracks and enable for Dion to still be active within the battle. He couldn't afford to be debilitated for even a second against such an opponent like Kalabas, which meant that every fleeting moment counted, even the couple seconds that he would be down for if he had chosen to simply catch Russe. He allowed himself to mutter a small apology toward Russe before looking back toward Kalabas- who was now seemingly advancing toward the two Majins.
About to reach out in immediate worry, Dion was going to charge forward once more as the undead Saiyan walking was approaching Suri, only to stop once he saw that it was not her he wanted; shown explicitly by the disinterest he showed by literally moving through her. Frowning, Dion then realized it was the other Majin he wish counsel with, and he felt a pang of annoyance as his complete degradation of his team showed once more with him asking the unknown Majin to take care of this so called mess himself.
"Pretty ballsy of you to try and coax someone into doing your dirty work," Dion muttered as he began to charge up another array of Ki blasts, only to stop once he felt the temperature of the immediate area around them begin to drop at a rapid pace. His attention was then refocused on Aurora, as he felt her power level begin to skyrocket dramatically- the mountain seemingly shifting and changing in response. The guy didn't know much about magic, he had one or two instances in which he had slight encounters with it, but he could tell something about this situation was otherworldly in some manner. As the Arcosian began to advance forward, Dion closed the distance between him and Suri, reasons being both to get near someone he knew that was incredibly strong (her own power increase did not go unnoticed) as well as wanting to ensure her mind was in the right place (her near panic attack didn't go under the radar either).
"Hey hey, everything cool there Suri-?" Dion asked in a concerned yet also quippy tone as he began to focus some more Ki into his palm, waiting for a couple seconds before firing off another attack. "Listen, while the odds may say otherwise, I'd say we've got a damn decent shot at this guy. As long as me, you, and Aurora keep piling it on and Russe and whoever that one human guy is just stay out of harms way, we should be able to do more than just a nick on the finger, yeah-?"
"You've just gotta stay focused. This guy's gotta be perfect for however long we can hold out, we've just gotta be perfect for a couple seconds, then deal the final finishing blow together."
He then would wait until Kalabas attempted either to evade or retaliate against Aurora before suddenly flexing his right palm violently skyward, speaking in a seething whisper, "Sudden Tremor-!" Then, the ground immediately beneath Kalabas' feet would glow gold before exploding in a large radius around and right on top of him. Dion then quickly returned to a more defensive stance- waiting for the eventual repentance that would come for such a, well, ballsy action.
Damage Taken: 0%, KP 2/3, [A1] Sudden Tremor attempted for a damage percentage of 33,272.

Reno already knew just how deadly his opponent was, the energy that radiated off was a clear sign on just what he was dealing with. So when the mad caught his blade he barely even blinked, rather then stand there like a idiot he quickly placed his guard up in a feeble attempt to defend the next attack. He barely got his guard up in time for the attack or perhaps the ghost had let him for reasons unknown. Regardless it had little effect on the outcome as one moment he was there and the next he was flying across the cave as ki wave sent him flying into the wall of the broken cave, his body hitting with enough force to shatter the stone around him and fall around him like a small tomb hidden in the mountain. However that was not the end for the poor red head, his chest burned form the seemingly effortless attack by the duke and it was all he could do not to pass out under the rubble. Perhaps it was just a good idea to stay under the rocks and recover for a bit yeah, his mind shutting down a bit as he groaned painfully though ruble on top of him.
His other shade on the other hand by divine providence or simply dumb luck ducked behind the rock he was hidden behind, a sudden urge to hide flowing though him mere moments before the lighting struck the rock blasting rubble around him but leaving him unharmed. He had not even seen the attack and he was sure even if he had ducked it would have him hit square if not for the rock around him, the stone absorbing the ki the ghost had so casually thrown his way. Still this meant that he was in fact aware of the his presence making his efforts to hide pointless, his hopes that this one needed a scouter to detect ki dashed all in one simple move. Inwardly he cursed himself as he pulled himself form the loose rubble revealing himself to everyone, his eyes turning just in time see the scene unfold between the ghost and Majin. He wanted to sneer at the duke's proposal, a promise that he could and would not keep as he saw it. Even if the man beat them the forces outside the cave would soon be here to finish off the man anyways, this battle to kill them was only the dukes only way at getting back at anyone. Still If Sanbu did join them it meant they would most likely die before help arrived and he really wanted to make sure he made it out of here with Aurora. He knew he had to convince Sanbu to join them instead or at the very least stand down form the entire fight.
"Sanbu don't listen to that load of horse shit he is spewing to you. The only truth to the mans words are that this mission is pointless to him, his need to fight us is pointless. His allies and him gain nothing form blowing this rock up, not even killing us serves a point for them. Still rather then stopping a fight that serves to gain him nothing and going out to protect his allies outside he is in here to kill what, the people who are defending themselves while his allies outside get butchered? Can you really trust the word of such a man who leaves his allies to die? Even if he wins here the others out there will be here shortly to deal with him too, its not a matter of if but when. You can sense them right? The massive powers outside that make even this phantom appear pathetic compared to them?"
He said trying to convince Sanbu as he moved closer to the man, his steps carrying a small limp form earlier attack form Vacado as he kept his eyes the Duke. His words where not pleading but rather a attempt for him to see reason unlike this so called duke. "Even if you join his side then what? You fight and kill a few more of us then he would just for those outside to come and kill you too? Or perhaps you win fast enough to run away afterwards by some miracle of chance and then what? You got to trust him to keep his word not to return to destroy mountain, that him and his allies are only dead set on destroying because Aurora did not simply lay down to die for them? See reason Sanbu only if we destroy him now will your mountain be safe form him his mindless violence. Or perhaps walk away if you don't feel like risking your life for us but don't throw it away on this abomination's need for senseless violence."

Sanbu's PL: 100'000
Chaotic currents and wicked winds, a storm had long been brewing here and Sanbu could feel it. What was true combat if nothing but chaos alone? Wild and without a true semblance of organization. Hectic as all ever and something not to be taken lightly. Though in its infantile stage, in this particular event the Majin had not a clue what was going on. Gradually it became increasingly evident to him as he reflected in complete cacophony. There were layers atop layers, mixing and swirling as each side had their own unique flair and angle to bend and twist. The righteous and the unjust did not appear to be all that different if even distinguishable. These fighters all looked the same to the man despite certain preconceived notions he hesitantly held onto. The pot had been stirred and so the careful balance from within would notice a distinct change. Words clung to him like pollen on a bee's bosom, it was not intentionally done but a consequence of its circumstances. Many people presented themselves near and far but of the ones he could detect it appeared that only a sliver of the sum actually were critical to his sense of attention. A lot was going on here and often he could only manage to be focused so often. It was a troubling sight, folk of all flavors and designs spread about and he was a part of none of them. His eyes turned into displeased squints as he came to hear the words of both Kalabas and Reno specifically with an admittedly mixed feeling.
In this instance however his concentration was mostly devoted to the latter granted their proximity and previous encounter. Sanbu's tone lay flat and rigid, he struck for blood not for sport. "...Oh Reno, I know that these times are trying however I have not compassion for either side of this conversation my goal here only aligns with the most convenient option. Oddly enough I feel half compelled to join him after you stated your piece. The fact that such needless combat has found this place is suffice for my great displeasure. I am a simple individual, I came here and saw what appears to be a typical scuffle between Arcosian and Saiyan alike. For what gain? Nothing noble or worthwhile it seems like to have involved such a varied collective."
A blizzard was raging on and amidst it stood the Majin, obscured by the vicious change in climate. With but a mere exposition of his ki he fostered a powerful heat within himself as the area around Sanbu started to clear provided his impressive display of pyrokinesis. It was controlled but refined enough to where he could permit a slight range of warmth to persist around him without further melting the area nearby. The Majin looked away from the earthling as he continued to speak. Glancing at everyone present as he started to develop his own thoughts and feelings about the crowd nearby. Certain connections were being made and it was hard to say if he liked what he was seeing in the slightest.
"I wish I had confidence in your words Reno, I know not truly the man you are neither your allies. I have not context for this event nor sympathy for the players present. I will neither run away or lend my support but merely bear witness to the battle as it stands. I walk away and the mountain still risks destruction it's evident it seems. The mountain never appeared to be the target here but more precisely your friend here was. It's untimely to point fingers right now this much I know however I sit not well in my seat when I gaze these folk here participate in battle so quickly when some of these individuals lack the strength necessary to sustain a single blow. Foe or friend I really have none, my ears are sore to compelling words I'm afraid."
Sanbu crossed his arms together as he lowered his head, falling into wondrous contemplation all the while. "I am sorry Saiyan but it appears that I cannot participate. Matters in this fight both inside and outside of this mountain have to start gaining steam before I can have confidence with any decision I might possibly make. Things still seem unfavorable here but I am certain I'll have a proper answer once people start dying. I loot only when a house is burning." TAGS: Suri Additional Note:

Suri stood, focusing on drawing the energy she emitted into the center of her being, focusing on bringing out the power she knew she had in her. If she wanted to convince the Saiyan ghost to stop attacking her friends...she would need everything she had, wouldn't she? "Dang it..." Suri muttered, grimacing as she saw her friends get slapped around. Dion, Russé, and Reno too... The Arcosian's efforts seemed to be working, as her magic(?) burst outward causing a snowstorm inside the cave. She seemed to have similar powers to Suri. Except greater, her efforts actually showing some result. 'C'mon, I need to hurry...' Rushing the process wasn't helping her, however, and-
"Gah!" Suri gasped when she saw Kalabas approaching her! Shocked, she put her guard up and braced for whatever attack he would throw at her...only to loosen as the phantom phased through her, ignoring her completely. Suri turned around to see Kalabas's attention directed at Sanbu instead. Suri let out a sigh of relief, but then the realization hit her, and fear set in once more. She wasn't even a threat to him.
Then Dion came to check up on her. "Dion. I'm...not sure if there's any point in me being here." As if he had already noticed Suri's worries, Dion told her that they stood a chance if they attacked together. "...Just...give me a sec." Suri took a deep breath, calming herself. The fighters here still remained despite probably realizing the power gap between them and Kalabas, presumably being able to sense it, too. Their company was encouraging. Yes, maybe they weren't outmatched as a group.
And so, Suri would stay focused. She needed to bring her power out before her fear overtook her again. Suri pushed her worries to the back of her mind as far as she could cram them in, and...
She forced them to stay in there.
Suri remembered the icy crystal she had placed inside her chest. Her magic core, a magic talisman which acted as a container for some of her leftover energy, as a stabilizer, and a calming agent. Now was a good time as any for it to do its job, so Suri activated it. The fog and aura surrounding Suri disappeared, her excess energy being completely absorbed. The crystal glowed in unison with her irises, a pink light leaking out from inside her chest. The Majin brewed a wicked stew of magic and ki within her, temporarily mixing them together, keeping them under control with the help of her magic core. Suri felt invigorated as she gained access to her full power. A white glow encompassed Suri's outline as her aura returned.
"Ice cream blast." A blast of ice cream-covered, magic infused ki pierced through the blizzard, shooting towards Kalabas like a cold stream of water from a hose, aimed to knock him away.
Suri stepped forward, briefly turning to give a look of sympathy to the red Majin pyromancer. She felt relieved that she wasn't going to have to worry about another foe immediately, but it sounded like he was going to join whoever wasn't on the losing side. Yet Suri felt sympathy for Sanbu. The guy's home had been turned into a battlefield, and his inaction reminded Suri of her own.
Focusing on the battle, Suri let out a sigh. She stood beside Dion, taking the cat-like stance that she had been taught, her left fist nearing her cheek while her bent right fist stayed in front of her defensively. "Context is what I need as well. Dion, why is...'Aurora', you said her name was? Why is she being targeted?" Suri asked, then to Kalabas, "Or would you like to tell us, mister Strong bone?" Suri only watched for any attacks thrown at her friends, not looking to make any more moves at him herself. Kalabas had not harmed Suri when she did not attack him. Perhaps the man could be reasoned with? But for that, Suri needed to understand what he wanted.
Suri activates Frigid Focus(Name pending)! her power rises for the final time, going from 200k/500k to 1mil/1.3mil.
She uses [A1] Ice Cream Blast, 330,000 damage headed towards Kalabas. Suri's PL: 1,000,000/1,300,000 Frigid Focus (x10/x13P) Damage: 0% KP: 2/3

Russé continues to charge Kalabas with intense ferocity, time to teach this see-through weirdo dome a lesson on hurting his friends!..After he stops using the half-saiyan as a shield. "Gah!" sets of teeth ground together with one eye closed, enduring the incoming kI blasts from the bartender. They didn't seriously put him on death's door, however, they felt like getting hit with annoying bee strings due to Dion's strength exceeding Russé's. "Wuuaah!" Against his will, the young adult is thrown towards his buddy and Russe put his arms up to shield his face, this is going to hurt..
Fortunately, nothing happened, instead of receiving further pain from crashing into Dion and in turn the ground, his momentum is halted thanks to some quick-usage of Kiai. "Thanks" recovering very shortly. He isn't quite out of danger yet, Kalabas fired his own set of Ki blasts' at the duo, "Look out!"instinctively Russé pushes Dion out of the way and folded his arms in a cross formation to embrace for the attack head-on. Unlike Dion's energy blasts, the hybrid felt more pain from this attack due to Kalabas towering over them all in power, if getting stung by a bee is bad, getting stung by a hornet is much worse. Soon his body is pushed back against a wall then rocks and ice piled on top of Russe.
The half-saiyan hoisted himself out of the rubble and held his head, a groaned escaped between lips. His focus is back on kalabas until he felt a surge of power levels rising to abnormal levels, a quick gasp mixed in surprise at what he's feeling, Suri and Aurora are the culprit behind this sudden phenomenon but will it be enough to topple their enemy in front of them? Russé furrowed eyes and preparing to launch an attack when a blizzard showed up out of nowhere. "You've got to be kidding me, what now!?" everything is a blanket of white from his ocular perception, the source of the blizzard is coming from their arcosian comrade who is defying Kalabas's taunting by attacking him, then before he knew it a pile of snow fell on him. Russé is buried within the cold texture of snowflakes and shortly a spiky-haired monkey popped their head from the snow, Russé climbed out of it annoyed by what just happened.
Kalabas is persuading the red majin to allow him to kill Aurora and he'll leave the mountain alone, Reno is trying to convince the man to not listen to him, in the end Sambu chose to do nothing, neither assisting the good guys nor the bad guy and why should he? they were all essentially invading his home and he just happens to be caught in a battle he has every right to not be a part of. Dion and Suri launched their own signature attacks at Kalabas with the former recommending Russe and Reno to stay out of harms way, encouraging they can win if they work together. "Sure but no promises." smirking while staring down the saiyan ghost, even if he wanted to stay out of harm's way, kalabas is stronger and faster than him, he is way out of his league. like Suri he also wanted to know why go through the trouble of killing Aurora? What did she do to deserve death? "Yeah dude, did she shit all over your cereal or something to deserve this?" not expecting an answer from the ghost.
He knew kababas can kill them all in one fell swoop but that doesn't mean he is gonna sit around and do nothing! Russé cupped his hands together forming a ball of Ki "Root Cannon!" firing the energy wave towards the fiendish ghost.
Russé used [A1] Root Cannon! Power Level 45,000 [A1] Damage 33% = 14,850 Damage Taken = 2% KP 2/3

What is it with these earthlings and long-winded speeches that could be summarized in two, three, maybe four flourishes? The Duke had no patience for such puerile oration, and yet forced himself to attention as the reddest flea of the bunch whined like some spurned debutante. And what poison did he spit! Accusations that would have flung the saiyan yet again past the point of no return, that would have made almost palpable this gnawing desire to take Reno beyond the absolute limits of physical pain, were shrugged off as simple childishness, inexperience, lack of any tactical or common sense... He was just some earthling upstart who thought himself a prodigy in swordplay and martial arts, and now short of a sword and made aware of the ease with which he could lose all limbs he had only clumsy mockery and pleads! In short, too annoying to be pitied and too weak to be taken seriously, Reno would only get a sigh from the Duke. "At damndest last, I very nearly thought your plan was to bore me to second death! Then again, you do not strike me as the planning sort. More like a, how do I put it..." he sighed again, dragging a palm over his weary face "Forget it. I just do not care enough about you lot." The lot being, of course, Dion, Reno and Russé. No matter how charming their fairy-tale stance against the Corpse Duke was, in a game of chess they would be less than pawns. The lint on the board, perhaps? "Heh." And did that make Kalabas a rook? Hardly, the role of a simple and straightforward killing machine fitted Cress the best. If anything Kalabas was a bishop, at every turn underestimated by foe and ally alike and forced to rely on more than brute strength... and made all the more deadly for it.
If only he had Auber here to make a fianchetto...
"Big red man will not fight lest clear coup rear its head." he grumbled at the end of Sanbu's spiel before the blizzard picked up "I am summarizing your point," he quickly added "lest poor Reno try to string a coherent thought and blow us all to kingdom come. It's the monosyllables, you see? Heh. Here is my advice however, 'I loot only when a house is burning' is a too fitting choice of words for this whole debacle. See that you keep that jest and pep regardless, yes?"
As sudden as he came to the majin's side, he left it for the center of the battlefield, foot set on a jutting patch of permafrost as dark energies coalesced around him. Kalabas had made these his haunting grounds, he was the closest thing to a god here, and if their plan really was to attack him all that once, well... He knew a way to profit from it. For Dion's unwitting aid the bartender would receive a wink. That very saiyan-like confidence that would make this pantomime all the more satisfying to end had Kalabas wanting to start with him, but his target was another.
Speaking of which, she was back to full power.
Not even Aurora, so stoic and frigid, was without things to say. In fact, she was saying a lot with those few words. A jab on Kalabas' honor, company, living state, the reputation he had on Arcose - and how could he not smile at that? -, very general things that had the impatient foot-tapping Duke wondering if this was how the Stargoons felt whenever one came at them with silly little speeches. Ice soared around him but struck at nothing, winds poured down biting without rippling even a hair, an arcosian fist found no purchase as it phased through his head. The ghost had the vestige of a tiny smile on his face.
The Sudden Tremor lit up the Duke's silhouette, the Root Cannon singed the cracked oozaru skull on his cape, the Ice Cream Blast got him to make fists of his hands... But what did these matter in the face of the power, the beauty of Aurora? Her tail lashed out, his claws sunk through his flesh, her ki kept flowing with nothing to strike. "If you are quite finished." he announced before the flurry just became sad, hands pulling down at her wrists, forehead rested against hers. A moment of peace. "The majin asked me a question." he let go of Aurora, his hands taken by the wind to flick the noses of Russé and Suri. The for former having not been teased in a while and the latter for, well...
"It is Strongbone, not Strong Bone, child... And if you have intentions to engage in diplomacy, doing so seconds after an attack is quite silly." the lecturing tone was almost respectful, at least when compared to the one used on the other earthlings. Kalabas wrists were soon docked by his hands, with which he gave a finger snap beyond thunder. The baleful noise echoed and echoed and echoed, but no attack came from it. The Duke was just having his fun. "I am simply following orders." he turned to Aurora, finger rested on her lips to avoid shrill interruption "Allow me this one second to explain before you throw the mother of all tantrums." Hell, why not make this a challenge on himself?
"Aurora Arctos." he began with a very faithful mockery of the tone she had used before "Hermit. Orphan. Apologist of the World Trade Fleet." Kalabas' smile was slight now, the ease in his eyes dim, his stance tensing ever so slightly "Fellow of idiots, and how." Living child? No, a better insult... "Gadfly child."
"What is it that you know about me, really? I saved Belle? Please. I took her in for a time, lost her twice, and very nearly killed her myself. I failed her at every turn and keep on even now." he gritted his teeth, throbbing veins bulged all over his skin, processing energy from so many was not a challenge he had ever trained for "And I could have let you die, as easily as I saved you. It would have been easier, even." he clicked his tongue "Perhaps I should have. But I owe myself an explanation."
"I am a dead, you see? And that does things to your head." he knocked on her head gem for emphasis "You start thinking, obsessing, over every little miserable damn thing you did in your life. Worse, however, are the things you never did. Inaction, hesitation, doubt, fear. I saw Vocado attack you and I was afraid. Was I to truly let this lizard die?... Perhaps. If only to be the lapdog you insist I am, just this once. Turns out, people are more complicated than that."
"Truth is, I am fighting you at the behest of a friend, much like this jolly little gang of yours. The difference is that this is partly for your protection. Vocado would kill you, the other one I cannot tell, but me? I will take you alive, and keep you that way for as long as I can... Demons below, I am not even planning on killing him-" he pointed at Russé "And he just projected his coprophagia unto me!"
"I meant what I said." he concluded, overflowing power and no less confidence "I want none of this, but this is not about wants. We are dealing in musts and musts not, and I must hold this line with my life."
