When the shambling amalgam that used to be her beloved uncle paused, Belle dared to hope that just this one time, she had managed to get through to him. The arm she had been holding jerked itself out of her grasp as he continued his rampage. He didn’t even say anything. He didn’t even turn her way. When she reached out with her mind, she didn’t sense anything in the way of normal thought. Just the madness that she had seen only once before. Madness personified. It hurt.
Belle flinched when Mister Carro appeared by her side, more surprised than anything else. He had his arm extended out protectively in front of her. It reminded her of the other time her uncle had been consumed by madness. Mister Lord Chill flashed before her eyes briefly. How he had protected her then. The warmth of his blood as she was splashed by it. Her thoughts raced forward to his death at the hands of Vocado. His last glance in her direction before the end. Panic seized her heart. Not again.
Mister Ochra’s voice called out to her. She turned her head mechanically to look at him. Belle had gone deathly pale. Cold sweats had started to break out all over her tiny body. When he said to look away, all Belle could think of was Uncle Kalabas’s body as she held it and the blood. Mustering up her remaining sense, Belle turned away and buried her face into Carro’s side, hugging him tightly. The fiery orange energy enveloping him didn’t hurt. In fact, it was really warm. Comforting as she tried to shut the world out. The sound and the sights. She didn’t want to see or hear any of it. Not when it was all happening again. Her breathing was short and ragged. A cold feeling of dread seeped throughout her body accompanied by a prickling sense of panic. Her stomach did twists and tied itself into knots. Still, she managed to squeak out a few words.
“D-Don’t… kill… u-uncle… k-Ka…”
Belle squeezed Mister Carro a little tighter as the words caught in her throat. She felt like she couldn’t breathe. Like she was going to throw up. Tears welled up in the corners of her eyes. Her nose started to run. She couldn’t think straight. Even if she knew Mister Ochra wasn’t bad. Why? Why did Uncle Kalabas keep doing bad things? He had to stop! Before… before everyone tried to take him away from her. She didn’t understand. She just didn’t understand.
“Mister… Carro…”
Belle mumbled under her breath faintly, trying to take some reassurance from the fact that he was here beside her. She was hugging him. He was still warm despite being a robot now. He was here. He wouldn’t let anything bad happen, right? He was good and nice and so was LEO. If anyone could help her uncle, it was them, right? They had helped her so much already.
Belle uses her ultimate attack, [ULT] Hug on Carro when her eldritch horror uncle ignores her.

Exiting the rip in space-time, Oboe fell into what seemed to be yet another maelstrom of death and destruction. Still, the battle for Mt. Frappe continued to wage forth with the stakes raising higher than before. His eyes would bear witness to the attack being thrown at the planet with sheer murderous intent. He wasn’t anywhere near fast enough to approach – though he’d wanted to – nor was he able to abandon Chime’s side with the other in such a state. It was as if by fate, a golden surge of force would crash against the world-ending blast with greater force.
As his eyes adjusted to the surge of strength, Oboe was relieved in a sense to see the Saiyan Ochra was here to defend the world. He held back a smirk, his experience with the other having been to such an extent that he knew his presence meant the end of such madness. The sheer magnitude of strength radiating off the mighty Saiyan was nearly the same as that of his own, something he was much aware of – so to see him acting in the pursuit of defense? It warmed his heart. He hadn’t spoken to the Saiyan since…
Oros Village..
Memories of that dark day, of Kitiana – his former student – blowing up his ancestral home. Of the Rampaging Saiyan, finally transformed, raged across the land tearing it asunder by accident. The moment he’d nearly died, saved by the quick intervention of the Tuffle’s leader. So much had happened in between, and while his heart yearned to speak to his friends, his soul was burning. No matter how much he tried to distract himself with the going ons of present, Oboe just couldn’t shake the feeling that something horrible was happening back on Namek. His desire, his every worldly instinct, was to leave Earth immediately.
Yet he didn’t. His honor, his duty, his guilt, they weighed him down in this moment. If something were happening on Namek at this current time, it’d have been his own fault for not being there to defend her. For galivanting across the galaxy rather than staying at his post, protecting his own. Even now – as he stood before Earths guardians, and nightmares, the eldritch horror forming and growing, he felt nothing more than a simple ‘duty’. He’d promised he’d help Chime protect the world – but he had not prepared himself for the loss of a friend. Nashua’s death was clinging to his thoughts even now.
A small, childlike voice cut through his thoughts like hot steel. Gazing at the life-form that Carro, who had swiftly left his sight and moved defensively between this youth and the monster therein – Oboe was struck with a feeling of familiarity, the tuffulized genome surging through his body – through the markings on his face – recognizing her as one of his own. He knew her face, the young girl Tarch had spoken up for, the young lady whom had attempted to circumvent Porunga’s great and mighty power to end the lives of others.
Belle..
Why she was here of all places he could not understand, but as Carro rose his defensive field and Ochra launched an attack, Oboe had to wonder if his presence was even needed here in the first place. He hovered there, just outside the portal, awaiting his opposite – Kami. He’d resolved himself to accepting that his duty was over when Kami had left this battle, a strange counter-balance to his other’s former life, the duty of a Guardian surging through his thoughts. Steno was still here…
He’d wonder, in his own way, what the four armed Warrior would do in such a scenario…knowing full well. Without words a brilliant field of energy would encapsulate the Namekian – its brilliant gleam shimmering in the dim light. Waiting for this nightmare to end.

There was a saying on Earth about frying pans and fires, and it would have felt applicable here, if it wasn't so cold. The inside of the mountain felt no warmer than the tundra outside, and as Chime exited through the portal, the biting cold from outside followed him. It might've been the icy temperature from outside permeating the stone, or it might've been the weight of his friends' deaths clinging to him. Or maybe it was the ghastly, eldritch horror that was steadily filling the cavern. It had been a Saiyan not too long ago, but Chime had no way of knowing that. If it had ever been a person, that wasn't evident now. All he knew was that it was large, violent, and threatening his planet.
Some distance away, other fighters were already trying to combat the monster, including two Super Saiyans. Just how many of those were there running around the galaxy? At least these two seemed to be on their side, though Chime didn't recognize him. The Saiyan he did recognize was much closer, and much smaller. A child clinging to Carro's fiery form, obviously shaken by everything going on around her. Why was there a child here of all places? Chime felt sure he had seen her before, but he couldn't think of her name at the moment. There would be time to figure it out later, granted they all survived this.
As Carro and Oboe stood protectively on either side of him and each brought up their own defenses, Chime stepped forward between them. He set a hand on Carro's shoulder and lifted the other to point at the massive, writhing ghost. His eyes were locked forward at his target and didn't stray aside to either of his friends. He just had to do this, and maybe it would be done. Maybe they could breathe for a moment. A large orb of energy formed on the end of his finger, and his grip tightened on Carro's shoulder as he fired and the force of it threatened to knock him backwards. A sharp tone rung out as the ki-blast split the air, echoing around the cavern like a death knell. Maybe it wasn't much compared to what others could throw around, but for the little healer, it was his strongest attack. It was hard to tell how damaged the creature they were facing was, but hopefully, this would end it.
Kami is here! He transforms into x11T Super Namekian Then he fires [MA3] Furikosen at Kalabas for 1,540,000 damage. Intent: kill
Chime's PL: 1,540,000 (140,000 x11T) KP: 4/7 (-3 from MA3) HP: 90%

Post by Aurora Arctos on Mar 13, 2020 16:03:28 GMT -6
Aurora's body shook every time the angered Saiyan slammed her into the ground, hands scrabbling to try and push him off, to no avail. She felt trapped, stuck. Her own body wasn't working and it was going to get her killed. A blood flecked cough leaves her mouth after a particularly brutal hit, but at that she felt the pressure of Scallio's hand around her neck loosen, and then release. Coughing and spluttering, Aurora's body shakes and ripples as she almost instinctively curls up in the snow at everyone else's feet, the white dusting all around her blocking all view of what was going on and inducing even more panic within thhe Arcosian's mind. Something was wrong, something with her body and her heart. She had known that from before, but now it was only getting worse. Her- Her body had done something. To try and stop it, or slow it, but it wasn't working. Whatever it was, it was far too late to stop. She- Pain emanated from her cracked bio gem, and she lets out a strangled scream that was further muffled by the snow at her mouth. Her body wasn't responding properly, and even through the pain she could feel the lack of feeling from parts of her limbs. She had... She had pushed herself too far, and now the consequences were showing.
Aurora had, of course, expected there to be complications to a damaged heart gem. But as she lay there in the snow, the Arcosian was met with the reality of exactly the type of complications that would appear. She had been pushing herself beyond her usual limits for nigh on an hour, perhaps more. Expended more energy than she had in any of her fights in the past, combined and twice over. The strain upon her body as it did its best to regain the ki she had expended, the pain upon her heart as the power was forced through what was essentially a permanently half shut valve... It all served to build up the power, to slow down the flow of her body and her power, and eventually began to build up. The first twinges of pain that she had felt during the encounter with Scallio had been the beginning. Little more than what was the equivalent of backwash, a small amount of her ki slowing down and nearly halting, before it was expended by her later. Yet that still had negative effects, effecting the rest of the Flow within her, and from there things had spiralled.
Using her ultimate move had been the first big step. She had known it at the time, that using such a thing was dangerous in her state. It had been used as an attempt to end the fight there and then, before it was prolonged further and she gradually weakened. Yet that had all come crashing down with the arrival of Vocado, his clap not only halting her attack but also disrupting, for the barest moment, the Ki within her. Once again, that had been enough to build up the blockage within her. For a small moment after, the problem was lessened as she revert to her true form. The blockage began to slowly clear... before Aurora had forced herself back into her Unleashed power, the overflow of ki flooding through her rapidly increasing the size of the blockage. This only became worse, and grew larger, as instead of before where she had expended her power evenly, this time the Arcosian had burst through as much of it as she could. A tidal wave of energy and power, all forced through her damaged heart gem... it was enough to put the final straw upon the camel's back, and watch everything begin to break.
It had begun when her form began to shift. The Arcosian body was, by all biological means, as close to perfect as a race could get. Inherently powerful, capable of surviving the vacuum of space, rarely dependent upon air, long lasting and incredibly durable. It also has a finely tuned set of instincts, and is intrinsically linked with the user's subconscious. So even as Aurora herself struggled and fought against it, her body had begun to shut down in an attempt to reduce the flow, to lessen the amount of power built up and the strain that her Heart gem was undergoing. However, it came too late, and past the point of no return. Even as her power level lessened, the strain of what Scallio was doing to her, combined with what Aurora had already done to herself, and the very presence of all the powerful beings was enough pressure upon her for something to finally break. Her heart gem began to glow a baleful red, light beginning to pour out from the cracks left there by Typha and painting the swirling white of the blizzard above a bloody red. Her scream this time wasn't muffled in the least, as she she began to float minutely off of the ground, the built up power of the battle escaping her.
The light began to glow, brighter and more intense, more and more... before it was as if a pin dropped, or a coin flipped, and it cut out as quickly as it had begun. Falling back to the ground with a whumpf, Aurora's form seems to almost... dim, in terms of colour. The light red of her bio gems fading slightly, her ruby red eyes unblinking and her chest stilling as something goes quite terribly wrong. Everything begins to grow colder, the world less bright. The world became... muted. Fuzzy. It was hard to think, and she wasn't entirely sure what the blurry object in her vision was. Lights flashed, barely inaudible noises shook her world. Then, slowly, her vision begins to fade, the golden light of Dion's super saiyan transformation being the last thing she sees before everything goes black.
I killed Aurora for funsies! Or, rather, she's just suffered a heart attack from all the built up Ki stored accidentally by her damaged heart. I recommend CPR of a sort.
Exit Attempt via Death!(?)

God, he was gonna need a drink after this.
Thankfully, it seemed that the opposing Super Saiyan finally came to his senses, and announced his taking of leave soon after Dions assessment of the situation. Either his words actually did mean something, or he also sensed the several other higher power levels slowly moving in on their location- and so did not wish to be present upon their arrival, considering they felt more on the friendlier side than the more "vengeful spirits" side. His gaze now laid itself on Amara, the person whom Scallio had focused on while speaking his departing words before taking flight, and so he began to wonder exactly what their relationship was. He wouldn't get the chance to get any answers though, as immediately afterward (and also after voicing her apparent irritation), she threw his hybrid friend/protege at Suri- the Majin thankfully catching the lad before suddenly then dropping out of her blonde power up. In response to her words, Dion spat at the ground, muttering, a small, "Piss off," as she flew off to places unknown. His patience was most definitely wearing thin, what with the whole Earth almost going bang and Russe's life now being in jeopardy twice. Sanbu leaving quickly afterward as well didn't exactly strike him as surprising, as once again this was his home apparently and its atmosphere was now that of a quite claustrophobic nature, so he assumed he needed his space. Though, the fledgling Super Saiyan did not find his critique of Suri quite called for. From what he could deduce, she was barely holding on as it is, so anything could potentially be the straw that broke the camels back. Looking over to Suri, but then looked away- deciding that she must be able to work this out on her own for now. There was still much to be done.
He slowly turned around to face Reno, who was now clutching Aurora within his grip, whose life signature was weakening by the second. Dion began to approach her in a worried manner when all the sudden- Warmth? His gaze turned toward the source- and he found himself pleasantly surprised. In response to the ever-going threat of Kalabas, a certain robit friend of Dions seemingly has finally turned up. Carro Hofferson, his appearance enabling the appearance of a small grin on his face, though he quickly returned to a more neutral setting. He must have been through a lot today, what with having to battle off whatever else was held out there while they were stuck within the mountains. He knew of his great power from conversations from past interactions, so Dion understood his focusing on the bigger fish to fry first. In fact, the bartender was sure it benefited the group that he hadn't come to them first.
His anxiety began to ease slightly, but his heart wrenched at the sight of the little Saiyan girl clutching her protector and begging for, Kalabas to live-? He could sense Ochras attack charging, but his gaze turned to once again look at the malefic horror that was Kalabas, frowning slightly. If the girl cared about him that much, there had to be something salvageable from the remains. His emerald green eyes now glinted with a characteristically shine of hope. Perhaps, there was more to Kalabas than meets the eye. Besides, it wasn't as though he was completely evil- he was but a soldier. A dog of the Saiyan military.
Completing his mission to the bitter end.
A mission that was, albeit flawed, but respectable.
Dion allowed himself a small salutation of respect- raising two fingers up in a goodbye as Ochra attempted to put the lights out on the paranormal poltergeist. Under normal circumstances, he would probably go to Carro and the child to attempt to help with the consolation process, but, he knew better. It was not his place to meddle. Not this time. His eyes widened as two Namekians suddenly came onto the scene- both of relatively strong nature, now surrounding Kalabas fully. One of which putting up a barrier, presumably to ensure Kalabas didn't have any funny ideas in mind, considering he did just try and kill the entire planet. And then the other, attempting what he assumed was a killing blow on the incapacitated Saiyan Duke. This, didn't sit right with him.
The Dukes interactions with Aurora, his offerings of even allowing them a chance to reconsider, as well as now it all coupled with Belles pleadings to spare her apparent uncle (questions for later) began to spur Dion into action. His face grimaced that of a man within indecision, his fists clenched once more as he stared at the scene before him. Killing Kalabas was the statistically and objectively correct decision, but, to refuse the requests of a young child whose past is seemingly closely knitted with Kalabas as well as disregard the slight mercy he had shown to the group before carrying out his mission, did not feel right.
Dion slowly began to approach the four as Chimes attack nearly finished charging, and as soon as it was launched, the bartender went ahead and did what was most likely the most idiotically heroic thing of his entire life- he charged in, hand flattening immediately to an arrowhead shape as he threw himself right in front of the amalgamation of limbs and grief.
"Full COUNTER!"
The invisible barrier collided with the blast head-on as his hand moved along the length of his body sideways in a swiping motion, a fantastic explosion occurring as the blast eventually overpowered the barrier and bled through to Dion himself- with him feeling the effects of the intent-to-kill attack all to himself, clutching his side immediately after being hit. Taking a couple deep breaths to soothe his nerves, Dion looked straight at the three- Carro, Belle, and Chime, with a sly smile, directing his words mostly toward Belle and Chime as he said,
"You heard the kid. Don't kill uncle Kalabas."
After nearly dropping to a knee, the Saiyan quickly regained his bearings, returning to a fully standing stature as he continued, "I'm sorry, but, as out of line as this may seem, Kalabas is already out of commission. There's more to him than most likely either you or I would like to admit, believe me- he was the one who pushed me to take on Super Saiyan in the first place. But the fact that both Aurora and now this child vouch for Kalabas, makes me feel obligated to vouch for him as well. He will face repentance for his crimes, but.."
Now looking down, out of exhaustion more than anything, he then looked back up at the three in a bargaining manner, asking, "I request that comes at a later date, if need be. It has been a long day, for all of us, it seems."
And it was only about to get longer- as all the sudden he sensed Auroras Ki signature going dark, and his attention immediately shot back toward Aurora as her body was engulfed in a painful looking red, her screams filling the cavern and his senses with dread as she then flicked off like a lightbulb gone dead- her body now a duller color than usual.
Running over to her, his face now wide with panic, Dion took Aurora from Renos arms, cradling her as he fell to the ground on his knees, rocking her back and forth as he laid an ear to her chest- no pulse. His face now gaunt with worry, a desperate smile tinging his face, Dion looked to the four that could help him with a teary eyed look, saying in a shaky tone, "A-as I said, i-it's been a long day. And I know I just spared Kalabas, b-but, I could use some help right now with closing it out."
Looking specifically at Carro now, tears dropping slowly from his cheeks as he still held a shaky grin, he pleaded, "H-hey there, Carro. L-lovely to see you again. H-how the tables have turned, yeah? L-looks like I-I'm the one needing help.."
Sometimes a little good ol' fashioned good is what the cosmos needs. Dion defends Kalabas with his VB3; Full Counter, (KP 4/7) with a PL of 998,187. 1,540,000 - 998,187 = 541,813. Dions PL is within 60% of the attack, so bleedthrough damage has been halved to 270,906, for a total of 18% damage taken.

FUSED CARRO'S PL: 1,800,594 (x9P ACTIVE | ANTISENSE | 200,066 PL BASE)
Carro didn't know why he expected any of this to be quick and painless. He assured himself that the worst of it was over. He'd flinched and gasped as the Arcosian crumbled, but... she'd be fine with so many here to help. He'd toss a capsule Reno's way, with first-aid supplies inside for the man holding the Arcosian to keep her alive on the way to the hospital. From here on out, things would only get easier!
His face crumpled with horror as Dion defended the madman Belle called uncle. He really should have known by now.
The President remained wide-eyed and frozen. This was familiar. Why was this familiar? Why did it make him feel sick with dread? His gaze trailed down, eyes still ablaze with energy. The reflections he saw in the ice weren't of the seemingly endless mountain cave. Crumbling buildings took the place of the icy spires, and a smoky night sky took the place of the snow roaring far above them. At Dion's feet, his conscious hallucinated an all-too familiar reflection. Himself, from that accursed day. A writhing demon- Sensoa- took the place of Kalabas in the reflections. He'd been here before.
Carro took a step back, gripping Belle back for dear life as he looked to the mirrored images beneath him. He saw a body beneath her. Tarch's. Dead, because of him. Dead, because he didn't have the will to protect his own. The howling of the winter wind brought screamed into his ears. He thought he heard his own shouts echoing among the wind, as ki pierced through his heart all those months ago. Maybe there was hope in Sensoa that day, but... was it worth the risk?
He blinked, and the visions vanished as quickly as they appeared. The answer to his own question was obvious. Carro glanced to the two Namekians. At least the weight of murder wouldn't rest on either of their shoulders this time, either. He felt sick.
The air, once a comforting warmth to fight the cold, had began to climb in temperature and humidity with his heightening emotions and a faltering control over his ki. It slowly turned uncomfortably hot- Carro would quickly shake off both Chime and Belle's comforting touch as the fiery aura enveloping him began to flare and burn- if they'd hold on for much longer or try to grab him again, his body would burn to touch. As if to throw the final nail in the coffin of his brain, Kayen's voice echoed through his internal scouters, repeating the same thought that made his conscious churn in disgust- Kill him. Save them.
He shook his head, finally registering that Dion was speaking. His case was all too familiar. The inevitable effects were too, and they wouldn't be what either of them hoped for. Standing in front of the group and facing his friend, Carro couldn't hide the creeping, agonizing horror in his face- though his back was turned to all but Dion. "I wish," He admitted with a longing sigh. There was a tremble to his voice, no matter how much he tried to hide it. He fought to return his expression back to a neutral stance. "I wish that could be the case."
"Last time, and every time before... Every single time, it isn't. There's been enough blood. Enough pain." Carro took a step past Dion, ki starting to crackle in his palm. "I'm sure you felt it. Nashua's dead. Gone, to thinking just like that. She tried to save the man who took my life and so many others..."He slumped, repositioning the lingering shield of ki behind him. He'd seen the scene unfold from afar in horror. If he'd been faster, if he'd chosen to head there first thing, anything, maybe he could have stopped it. But the end was the same. "...And for her sacrifice, he stabbed her in the back with t-that smile..."Disgust and fear crept into his voice again.
"When I gave mercy and compassion to the monster who threatened to kill, usurp, and purge my my people for the sake of pettiness even before all this, that demon later turned to killed her brother. Does the former sound familiar?" The harrowing thought that Kalabas had tried to destroy the entire planet wasn't something Carro would forget for a long, long time. His head turned and trailed to Belle with the mention of Tarch's death. His back had been turned to the group entierly until now, but now they could see the President desperately fighting off the encroaching horror and repulsion in his face. He struggled to stand tall in spite of what he was about to do.
The barrier of ki slammed against the ground, forming a thin line separating himself and the monstrous Kalabas from the others. "There's too much at risk. There has been enough. I'm the President, and I must protect my own first." He turned and raised his palm. "...Stand back. Please." Ki surged upwards from the barrier he'd placed, forming a translucent orange wall. "...I-I'm sorry."Carro muttered. The least he could do was try to make this quick and painless. The wall turned a solid orange, so that Belle would not be able to see the unfolding trauma. "I-I-I'm s-so sorry."
His face and arms hurt. Everything felt like it was starting to burn. He couldn't rest- he couldn't stop. He had to bare this burden, and pull the trigger. He raised his palm to whatever was left of Kalabas after Ochra's attack. Carro couldn't look. He closed his eyes and averted his gaze before finally letting that blaze of orange free from his palm, intent on quickly and painlessly ending the ghost.

With each person that stepped though the portal Reno's heart soared, the desperate battle they had been facing had now fully swung in their favor all but guaranteeing their safety. However unease still hung over him as he held his exhausted friend and watched the battle carefully as he gazed on in case there was a need to escape. Even now Orcha's attack seemed to be the final nail in the coffin of the Duke, the exhausted phantom's ki spoke volumes for its heath as the rapidly dwindling power was once again under attack by Orcha. It was however during this he noticed one of the new arrivals was someone he knew, the smaller of the two late arrivals was chime the Namekian he had met when he had first met Aurora. No longer hiding his ki it was clear Chime was far more powerful then he had let on although he was far form the strongest on this battle field.
Reno could only look on in surprise as the Namek went for the kill, a tactic that seemed so out of character for Chime. The friendly Namekian he had met before was no where to be seen as he lunched the attack without hesitation. He wondered what had happened to make Chime to make him attack to kill like that, he could only wonder what had happened in the battle outside of the mountain. Then again he barely knew the small Namekian having only met him a single time before this and even then he had mostly been silently as he watched them interact. It did not matter in the end as long as he took care of that nightmare for them it would be fine with him. What he was not expecting however was Dions desperate defense of the ghost, a foe that had threatened all life on the planet just moments ago. It was so foolish Reno wanted to berate him but in the end it would amount to nothing so he let it go. The man was responsible for saving Aurora's life in the end and he would not forget that.
Speaking of Aurora it was perhaps only then he noticed her ki was quite strange, weaker then it normally should have been. He might be imagining things as without a doubt she was tired form the long battle and her collapse was proof of just that. Perhaps it would be best to leave for not and let her rest, the others could easily handle it. However before he could turn and leave Aurora's energy started to plummet even further, a sudden change that made him look down at her just in time for him hear the screams start feeling him with dread. The growing light form her broken gem freezing the blood in his veins as she started to float just above his arms. Just as he thought to do something she came down again in a sudden drop, her body even colder then before as her ki seemed to ebb form her crumpled form.
It seemed like a cruel joke after all this she would start to fade like this, making it though their desperate battle with the Duke and Scallio only to start to succumb to wounds form before the battle had even started. It was so bitter Reno could only stand frozen as her light dimmed, his eyes just staring at Aurora when Dion finally came forward. Reno's first instinct was to keep Dion form taking her as his hands gripped tightly, his instinct to protect overriding his common sense for a moment. The moment was only fleeting as he let go of her, letting the new christened super Saiyan take her to get some kind of medical attention. He was powerless in the battle before this and even now he was powerless to help the fading Acrosian, a feeling of hopelessness settling in his stomach before as he could only watch on as another again help where he could not.
With those thoughts in mind he slowly closed his eyes to focus on what he could do now, his mind still numb as he thought of what he knew about Aurora and Acrosians. It was then that it hit him, the ship she had given him a tour of was not far form here. It was built by her people and would have something to help with all this right? Turning to Dion he leaned down and placed a hand on his shoulder to get his attention away form Carro."Listen I am gonna run to Aurora's ship and see if their is anything that would help there alright? You can't stop him Dion but you can at least help save Aurora so please just focus on that." He reasoned , his voice far calmer then he felt before he turned to the entrance of the cave and raced past everyone. He could not stand their and do nothing anymore, he could only hope Dion would see reason.

Suri halted in her steps, worriedly looking at Russé as he tried to be reassuring. "R-Really? But...my reason didn't end up doing anything..." Violence couldn't solve every problem, but as much as Suri wanted it to be, reason wasn't an end-all either, she had found out the hard way. "I didn't...do anything...to cause her to let you go..." She felt that she did not have the right to be called Russé's savior, or anyone's, really.
Suri's confidence in her decisions was in an all-time low. As much as she tried to stay focused, it was hard. "I tried...to reason with him. I'm not sure if it was enough, but...it ended up not mattering, did it?" Suri looked forward at the glaring evidence of her failure, a writhing undead mess. After being driven into a corner, Kalabas broke down, and aimed his anger at the ground. "H-He really tried to blow up the Earth, didn't he?" Had the mercy he had offered earlier been nothing but a lie?
Suri looked to Belle. 'Uncle Kala' had disregarded his supposed niece from the moment he tried to destroy the planet with her on it. The poor girl's pleas had fallen on deaf ears...her words didn't reach Kalabas, either. Suri could only imagine her pain. She thought of her father, her numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and her grandparents... She, a young adult wouldn't know how to cope if anything happened to them, how would a child? Suri did not want this young Saiyan to witness her uncle in his current state, nor his second death.
But there was no mistaking his unforgivable action. This Majin raised on Earth certainly did not appreciate the rampant phantom taking his grief from losing a friend, out on her own family and friends, as well as the countless other inhabitants of Earth. She didn't want it to happen again. Her sympathy for Belle conflicted with her fear for a repeat of what the duke had just done. So, Suri's anxiety surfaced as Ochra and then Chime aimed their ki blasts at the eldrich horror that was once Kalabas Strongbone. She could only watch. This was a choice she simply did not deserve to make. Suri powered down, and she did not move.
Dion, however, did. He just saved Kalabas, despite it all. "D-Dion..." Suri looked to him, unsure what to say. Dion was a good man. But did that mean his faith in Kalabas wasn't misplaced? Was there really any good in Kalabas to salvage? Would it ever be possible to reason with the wraith?
Questions that Suri would leave to the others to answer. The Majin's focus turned to Aurora when her startling screaming started. Ended. So did the glow of her life. Concern caused Suri to fly toward the Arcosian without much thought. Suri caught the medkit-capsule thrown by the walking mini-inferno, who answered with a firm no. They- He? turned out to be the late President of Earth, Carro Hofferson. Somehow alive. He had experience with this kind of situation, from past precedents that had ended in betrayal, of which Suri had known nothing of, aside from the name of a queen. Oh. She looked back to Carro with shock. There had already been a casualty today, from doing exactly what Dion had just done...
Suri landed, joining Dion and Reno to kneel next to Aurora. Her hand went for Dion's, to try and clutch his as tightly as she could. To comfort him. Herself. And so that he wouldn't leave her side to do something reckless. "Hurry..." She said after Reno. Suri's voice quivered and sank as a new worry washed out the old. "She doesn't have a heartbeat! Sh-She's supposed to have one, right? Oh...god..." A friend was dying. Not again. Not in front of her like this. The panicked Majin decapsulated the first aid supplies, but she didn't know what to do with them, or whether the same treatment for Earthlings would even work on an Arcosian. Would chest compression, or the defibrillation be safe for her? "What do I..." Ambulance. Suri dug into her pocket for her phone, to call someone that would know. But the device shattered and broke as it fell from her hand, when she saw the beginning of an execution. Idiot. She cursed herself. Suri practically sobbed as she pleaded, "Someone, please...help..." to the others in the cavern, their faces blurred by the fluid in her eyes.
Nothing had changed, she didn't know what to do.

The profane thing was torn asunder, making no sound, be it a scream or a tear of flesh, by the rippling of Ochra's fist. It tumbled stupidly, slumping against the wall, limbs flowing from its gutted form as freely as ichor, even now squirming, fighting, reaching for the purpose that had given them shape, to fade away seconds after. The blood-slick limbs kept spilling endlessly, uselessly, as the creature answered to a pull that had come from even before its corruption, having no thought for what would come after it, or for anything at all. More innocent souls could have projected unto it any emotion at all, but the thing was less than machine. Incapable of abhorring what it had become, taunt Dion for his misguided mercy, spit on the slugman that had tried to kill him. Above all else Kalabas would have wanted to will Belle away. Whether from this mountain or this world and the next was a nuance lost to the creature, as was anything else. The ghost was nothing if not throughout, especially with himself, but above any other Kalabas was liable for his own failures. Something of him still lingered. Carro's attack did not vaporize the almost-Kalabas, the ectoplasmic body would not allow it. Rather, as its outermost layers were shed like petals, its insides bubbled away in a caustic, fizzling solutions. Fulminating weaponry did away with artifice and magic, all the remained was the core of the monster. A silhouette, more mist and ash than man. It laid in complete stillness, and from it strange glyphs carved from its charred body and into the rock: THATISNOTDEADWHICHCANETERNALLIETHATISNOTDEADWHICHCANETERNALLIEAURORADIONRENOSANBUSURIRUSSEOCHRASLUGMENMACHINEBELLEAURORADIONRENOSANBUSURIRUSSEOCHRASLUGMENMACHINEBELLEAURORADIONRENOSISWHEREIDIEDTHISISWHEREIDIEDTHISISWHEREIDIEDTHISISWHEREIDIEDTHISSANBUSURIRUSSEOCHRASLUGMENMACHINEBELLEAURORADIONRENOSANBUSURMANISTHEMEASUREOFTHENATIONNATIONISTHEMEASUREOFMANTHATWHICHGOESAGAINSTTHENATIONGOESAGAINSTTHEMANANDTHATWHICHGOESAGAINSTTHISWHEREIDIEDTHISISWHEREIDIEDTHISISWHEREIDIEDTHISISWHEREIDIEDTHISISACOWARDTHATKILLSWITHEYESCASTUNTOHIMSELFTHISWHEREYOUWILLDIE THATISNOTDEADWHICHCANETERNALLIEKalabas passed on.

Ochra's attack hit dead on, bringing the ghostly monstrosity crashing down to the floor. Though it seemed others had the same idea. A Namekian appearing and firing a shot at Kalabas, only for the other Super Saiyan to take the hit. It ultimately proved pointless as a small robot fired off a shot, finishing the insane ghost once and for all. As the ghost's body faded away into nothing, Ochra looked a moment to read the words left behind. A jumbled mash of words, strewn out like a madman. Guess that could be said for the Saiyan's mindset at the very end. Nothing but madness.
Ochra let out a small sigh. Sure, Kalabas had seemed self important when they met all that time ago on Namek, but the Saiyan noble didn't deserve this fate. It was such a waste.
As he stood there, things finally calming down, it was then that something occurred to him. A sort of delayed reaction. He had heard the words mentioned during their attack on Kalabas, but only now managed to register them.
Nashua...was dead?
Ochra's eyes turned towards the one who said those words. The small android that had finished offr Kalabas, the one currently comforting Belle.
"You."
Ochra's voice rang out as the Saiyan turned and made his way towards him. Dread and anger were starting to grow in him again. Was it true? Did he really hear the android correctly? A part of him prayed that that wasn't the case. He stopped before the android, looking down at him.
"Is it true? Is Nashua really..." He couldn't bring himself to say it.

FUSED CARRO'S PL: 1,800,594 (x9P ACTIVE | ANTISENSE | 200,066 PL BASE)
Carro didn't know it was possible for an android to feel sick. But... Finally. Finally, it was over. Right? The barrier of ki Carro deployed flickered as he put a hand to his head. Alerts flooded his vision- those nagging "critical overheat" errors again. The ki around him sparked in a glitched fit, like ripples from a boulder hurled into stormy waters. "--aaACK!!" The orange ki flared of, leaving his bare robotic form crumpled against the ice while the orange glow spread and took on a familiarly feline shape before collapsing to the ground. The barrier separating the androids from the group crumpled away.
Carro was the first to push himself back to his feet. Now stripped of the aura hiding his robotic shell, he finally got a good look at his hands. The once glistening metal was stained red and black with a horrid mixture of blood and ectoplasm that made him flinch backwards in shock. He'd taken not one, but two lives. He didn't dare look back at Belle.
He raised his head, quickly alerted by Suri's plea in spite of his injuries. He couldn't rest yet, not when there was work to be done. Still careful to avert his sight from Belle and the others, he forced a straight face before dashing towards the Majin and Arcosian. "U-uh. Hi."He awkwardly piped in, trying his hardest to mask the shaken tone in his voice from everything that unfolded prior. "D-don't worry, we can treat this. She'll live." He tried to reassure Suri with a meek, pixellated smile. "I-I'll handle her pulse. Can you bandage some of her wounds?" Sure, he could do the latter himself as well, but the android wanted to try to make up for the traumatizing sight of his murder of Kalabas and give the poor girl something to do to make herself feel of use.
Carro opened his robotic claws, clamping them onto the arcosian's heart for defibrillation with precision only a machine could manage. His expression continued to twist in concern until he felt the returned heartbeat under his palm, as slow as it still was. But with even more of his dwindling energy used to resuscitate and stabilize Aurora, another swarm of alerts invaded his vision. He put a palm to his aching screen, only to freeze as as an audible splat echoed in his ears. The left side of his face felt like goop as it started to melt into his hands. He quickly turned his face to look away from Suri and the group. The last thing he needed was to look like even more of a freak of nature for them to gawk at.
LEO's teeth grit as she pushed herself back to all fours as Carro had scampered off to help Suri. The fifty-foot feline stood tall in the icy caves, shaking herself back to attention in spite of the aches from the burns on her body. Her wide eyes first darted to Carro to make sure he was in one piece, and then she tore her sight to those her partner couldn't muster the courage to look at. She held her head low with a sorrowful whine as soon as she looked back to Belle. What was there to possibly say?
Another pang of concern brought her sights back to Chime and Oboe, and then to Carro as she heard him trying to reassure the Majin that all would be well. She glanced from the two Namekian healers to the unfolding scene in a mixture of anxiety and expectation. Was healing a lost cause yet again, or was there still a chance to save Aurora? Carro wasn't doing well either... So much had gone horribly, horribly wrong on the mountainside. It was about time things went a little right for a change.
But before either android could think of much else, the second Super Saiyan turned to approach Carro. LEO paced forwards, positioning her head in Ochra's way, gaze stern and wary. She could see the lingering anger in his eyes, which made the feline distrustful enough to bar him from approaching the President. Though in response to his question, her once-tense gaze softened. "...Yes. It's true." Her head drooped again. "I am sorry. Were you close...?" Though Ochra had yet to earn LEO's trust, she was much more ready to give her sympathy. Nobody here was having a good time.
"Regardless... All of you. We can't dawdle here." LEO's commanding tone echoed through the cavern. "I'm sure you all have people worried about you, or places to be. Though my partner and I commend and thank you for your bravery here, and your aid in protecting our planet." She bowed her head in respect to the entirity of the group. Simply staying against the odds for this long was enough to earn a margin of LEO's respect, and some concern or their sense of self-preservation... Though she didn't say that last bit aloud.
LEO crouched low, opening a hatch on her torso to allow entry into her hull. "The least I can do to compensate for the troubles today is to ferry you all to where you need to be, if you need a ride..."
With the consent of all remaining folks in the DE, we've decided to throw out the post order to free-for-all and wrap things up quickly! ------------ Carro and LEO unfuse. LEO's PL is 1.8mil with her x9P active still, Carro's is his usual 100 PL. Good ol' CPR fixes up Aurora's heartbeat somewhat. I cleared this with her player OOC! LEO offers rides out as well- she and Carro will likely be exiting in their next post!

Even though Ochra knew the words were true, he could no longer sense Nashua, it was still hard to process. Nashua was one of the strongest people he knew. And more importantly, she was one of the best people he knew. For her to be killed...it was hard to wrap his head around. But there was no denying it. Why would this mechanical being lie to him?
A surge of anger and grief ran through the Saiyan. "DAMMIT!" he roared, power surging off of him as, for a brief, painful moment, he surged back into his Super Saiyan form. His body, already tired from the fight earlier, screamed as it tried to contain the energy running through him. And then, a moment later, the power was gone, Ochra reverting back to his base form. With that one burst, his anger was gone along with it, only leaving remorse. Yes, he had managed to stop Kalabas' attack, but with all these powerful people here, anyone could have done it. And he hadn't been able to do anything to stop Nashua's tragic end. With a defeated sigh, he looked down at the sympathetic android. "She...was a dear friend," he said. That was all that needed to be said, right? Sure, Ochra had questions. How did Nashua die? Who killed her? Though with the way things were, it seemed whatever had done her in had already been dealt with. It didn't make the revelation any less painful though.
As the android offered others a ride from this location, Ochra took the time to look around. Belle was safe, so that was a plus, and it seemed this little android had some relationship with her. That was enough to allow Ochra to trust them for the time being. Then he noticed another familiar face here. Oboe. When had the Namekian Guru gotten here? A small wave of guilt ran through the Saiyan, remembering that his home world was being attacked by the Stargoons. He wished there was something he could do to help them. He just felt...powerless. Despite everything.
His body aching, Ochra quietly made his way over to a nearby rock, taking a seat, his head falling into his hands.

He expected Suri to deny his gratitude, her personality presumably wouldn't allow it, but that will make the hybrid saiyan to push himself to boost up her confidence. "It's the thought that counts, if you hadn't tried to negotiate for my safety, that woman might've snapped my neck without a second thought by now" rubbing the back of his head and reassuring the majin. Granted the Saiyan warrior released him due to different circumstances, truthfully he was lucky, every second of his life mattered and he shouldn't have been reckless to come here in the first place.
Like Suri, Russé focused back to..what used to be Kalabas and dreadfully found the ghost still active in trying to blow up the earth, his feeble attempt to stop him didn't phase this monster at all, and the worst part the half-breed is all out of stamina, is he really so weak and helpless to do anything? Pushing those feelings of doubt aside, Russé watched the child saiyan pleading with her uncle to stop this heinous crime and there was nothing, Kalabas is too far gone to be reasoned with and Suri is questioning if her methods were all for nothing. "Some people can't be reasoned with I'm afraid, once they dish out the first attack, it's going to be difficult to convince them to solve a matter peacefully, right now that man is a shell of his former self, I doubt he could hear you" underneath that abomination is a man grieving about the death of his friend, lashing out at the planet as the only way he knew how to grieve, he can understand losing a lovec one will hurt but threatening to kill everyone is inexcusable.
Ochra heard the request of that little girl and decided to subdue Kalabas, ending the battle once and for all, Russe exhaled a sigh of relief however danger did not go away. Russe's face geared towards Aurora out of concern, watching her lift into the air being surrounded by energy and then fell to the ground having what appears to be a heart attack and her life force is fading. "Aurora!" like the voters he would rush over to check on her well being and it doesn't look good. "How did this happen?" pondering about her current state of being and then two powerful signitures arrived grabbing his attention.
Two Namekians arrived in the scene and one of them approached kalabas with the intention of putting him down for good. "He's gonna.." the name inhabitant fired a lethal energy wave and Dion jumped between them to save their enemy, it didnt feel right to traumatize this girl with the death of her uncle and Russe felt the same, its the correct move to get rid of him yeah but its important to preserve a child's innocence.
It didn't last long however, the robot he met at ginger town decided to mercilessly finish him off while stating his reason for doing so, and before the phantom is disintegrated, strange words appeared on a rock, he could barely make out of what it says but he has a feeling they won't see the last of him. Russé's eye's were shocked momentarily then frowned, It's a painful setting to watch a murder happen right before his eyes, instinctively he thought about the kid and now she won't be the same after this "You didn't have to kill him, not in front of a child.." voicing his disdain, they could've taken Kalabas to prison.
Carro's mechanical companion confirmed Nashua's from its own words and from the president himself, Russé looked at the ground in silence, he felt her energy slipping away but there was a sliver of hope she was just suppressing her energy but he must face reality and accept she's gone. Right now there is someone else dying and there is a chance they could save her. Thankfully Carro stated she'll live and did Russé looked on silently at Aurora and watching Carro stabilized her heart, LEO offered a ride home thanking them for there efforts to protect the planet, "Yeah, Morticia and Tysco are probably wondering where I've been all day," Russe spoke, entering LED's hall.

Post by Dion on Mar 21, 2020 13:54:14 GMT -6
A horrible, sinking feeling had set in as soon as Carro began to walk toward the fledgling Super Saiyan- his eyes being drawn downward to the snowy floor as his friend went on as to why this couldn't end otherwise. How could he have been so blinded by his own self imposed righteousness to forget that, Carro himself had been put through hell by the very amalgamation of pain and tentacled might formed before them? Their late night rainy conversation within his bar immediately came to mind, the time where he thought he had finally helped the young lad take some of the stress off of his back through a needed venting session- yet now when his emerald shaded gaze looked into the sparkful look of the president of the Earth before him, it seemed as though all of that stress returned a thousand fold, as though his very actions did all but to reignite the flames of regret and guilt that had consumed him all those weeks ago. Not only did he basically disregard his own experiences with Kalabas, but, it was as though he was to follow in the footsteps of Nashua herself apparently- if what Carro had said was anything to go on. Most likely worrying Carro to no end, him not wanting Dion to fall the same way she did.
The feeling, of which Dion could now safely recognize as guilt, began to also envelop his own psyche as the roboticized Saiyan protector began to finish the job. The bartender now looking away conflictedly as he felt Kalabas' energy be swiftly snuffed out of existence. All he chose to focus on now was the care of the unconscious Aurora within his hold, nodding an absentminded reply toward Reno, and gripping Suri's hand tightly as she placed hers on his, thankful that one of his closest friends was there to take the remaining burden off of him.
However, seeing as Suri began to immediately break down into a bit of a panic in seeing Aurora and her incapacitated state, Dion quickly wrapped an arm around her- the other still cradling Aurora, him speaking in a hushed yet comforting whisper toward his Majin friend, "Listen, listen, calm down Suri, dear- it's not time to worry just yet. W-we're gonna be alright, I'm sure of it. These good people all around us won't just let our friend die on us, not after all of the bloodshed already done..." As Carro finished up the dirty business that was the finishing off of Kalabas, Dions eyes shifted toward Ochra- someone who obviously was taking the news of Nashuas death much harder than the former. Today seemed to be one of loss for everyone here, and while it could have gone quite worse, that didn't change at all the fact that it was still indeed a horrible day. He wanted to say something, anything- but the man who normally held the last word was uncharacteristically speechless, and the feeling of insecurity and uselessness slowly latched itself back onto Dions mind, the seeds of it already planted by Kalabas' near termination of the entire group. And so, he instead chose to simply lie in wait until someone, anyone helped him with Aurora.
It was, strange.
He had fought for his life and gained so much power, only to be reasserted as useless again when in the light of even stronger beings appearing.
The very thing that forced his power increase in the first place now returning to dog him once more.
Thankfully, though, as he tried to push such negativity out of his mind, he was right in his faith in his friend, and Carro soon enough came upon the two to assist them with Aurora. His hands now doubling as a defibrillator, the mecha-Saiyan was able to restart Auroras heart- allowing for a sigh of relief to leave Dions breath. The bartender was slightly concerned at the inherent glitchiness Carro was undergoing during the process however, but his attention was immediately drawn to the elephant (well, Cat) in the room before he could ask exactly what was up. The appearance of Leo and her imposing figure was enough to induce the leave of the remainder of Dions spunk within him, his hair slowly shifting from blond back to its regular blackened color as he mouthed several swears in disbelief.
Going immediately cross eyed, Dion fell face first into the snow- his body finally giving out from both the physical and mental strain the day had brought upon the man, a strangely at ease expression drawing itself onto his face as his body made impact with the snow. He hoped his friends wouldn't mind him taking a bit of a break. He thought he deserved at least a small amount of shut-eye time.

Suri held onto her friend's hand for comfort, but it didn't seem like it was enough. The realization of Aurora's situation, and the execution of Kalabas, both added up to the Majin's horror. And her hopeless, useless self, her incompetence, her mistake... Suri's hands were shaking, as was the rest of her body from her sobbing, and there was no hiding the droplets of tears falling from her eyes. But then she felt Dion's hand leave hers, only to wrap around her, and comfortingly so, he spoke to her. Everything was going to be alright. There were so many good people around here now, ones whom he had faith in. "Okay..." Suri answered with a whimper, ducking her head as a single nod, closing her eyes. What else could she do but hope, too?
Dion was right, and it didn't take long for Suri to find out. She raised her head to see that Carro had finished what he had to do, and had come to their aid. His voice was clearly recognizable as the same one Suri had heard from broadcasts and videos, now the only one present out of the duet. The android, as the absence of flames revealed him to be, knew exactly what to do. Carro's smile, his confirmation that Aurora would be alright, and the hope he gave, brought Suri an immense wave of relief. She finally moved her hands. Suri wiped her eyes, and responded with a shaky "...Yes."
Defibrillation was the way to do it. Suri felt even more stupid, though she had no time to dwell on it. She had a task to do. Aurora needed bandages. They were in the medkit, Suri found them in no time. Carro brought back Aurora's pulse, and Suri's hands rushed to wrap up the wounds on the Arcosian's body, and the crack on her chest... And the Majin could finally let out a sigh of relief as well, releasing a breath that she didn't know she was holding all this time. And as she started to breath slowly, she could feel herself calming down.
But Suri's relief was cut short by the concerning sound that came from next to her. "S-S-Sir? Are you okay?" Suri would try to meet Carro's gaze, looking toward him with worry on her face. She lifted her right hand holding leftover bandages, and asked, "W-Would you like me to...bandage your wound as well?"
Then, Suri's focus was taken again when Dion fainted and fell. Alarmed, Suri turned him over, and her head headed for his chest immediately. A second wave of relief came as the Majin realized that the Saiyan's heart was beating as it should. "I-I think he's just...asleep..." Suri said. False alarm, but tears welled up in her eyes still. She wiped them away on her right sleeve, and the snow on Dion's face with her left hand.
If Carro had said yes, Suri would oblige, and she'd go over to him to start bandaging the melted side of his face. If not, she'd just sit there next to Dion and Aurora, not daring to go against his wishes. Regardless, the President was the first to receive Suri's gratitude. "Thank you, sir...for coming to save us."
Only after her concerns were taken care of- or at least addressed- could she pay attention to her surroundings. There were no signs of Kalabas left, at least none she could see. He really was dead. Suri's gaze wandered through the many individuals in the cavern, the traumatized, the wounded, the ones mourning for the dead... she thought back to the two deaths that happened today... and the billions that had been prevented. So, this was what the heroes of Earth had been dealing with this whole time. She was thankful they weren't as naive as she was, thankful that they rushed to the Earth's rescue without hesitation. "And thank you, everyone...for saving Earth." she said, her glance shifting to the Guardian, the Sage, and the Saddened Super Saiyan.
Though Suri was surprised by the appearance of LEO, her offer to give everyone a ride was much appreciated too. "Thank you... I would like that." Suri looked to Dion, who was out cold. "...He could use a ride home." Aurora. "And her, to her spaceship...or a hospital?" Suri would carry them both in her arms and slowly, carefully fly toward the massive mechanical cat. She would enter... but before she did, she would give a last glance toward Kalabas's grave, her expression somber. She hoped the spirit would rest in peace, and that he would not return to haunt Earth a second time. ...And in she went.
Suri still had other thoughts running in her head. Reno had gone ahead to Aurora's ship already. Perhaps they could pick him up on the way? And there was the Heran lady, was she still outside? Maybe her, too, if she was. For now, she would set her friends down wherever she thought they would be the most comfortable.
