NAME: Endiver
ALIASES: N/A
SPECIES: Bio-Android (Saiyan, Arcosian, Tuffle)
AGE: Original body killed at 35. Arcosian test subject killed at 268. Current amalgam age: 5 Years
GENDER: Male
STARTING PLANET: The Brenchian Gemini
Traits Taken:
Saiyan - Weakened Zenkai
Arcosian - Durability without space breathing
Tuffle - Alien Trait "Jumpstart"
APPEARANCE: (art to come soon)
Endiver's body was one that should never have been smashed together. An amalgam of parts, the once-mighty Saiyan has been turned into a disgusting, ever-evolving beast. Though his body is still mostly Saiyan in this imperfect state, there are painfully obvious tumors and abberations that make him unwieldy to the eye.
His most noticeable feature is his massive, mutated arm. The skin is mottled and cracked, with a massive purple Bio-Gem nearly bursting out of the shoulder, which seems to almost breath on its own.
This trend of oddity seems to encompass most of his body. The skin not hidden by armor seems to be pale and grayed out, with thick black veins desperately trying to free themselves from their bonds. Horns protrude from beneath his matted hair, though their shape and location seem sporadic and random. In addition, thick red lines run down his face from beneath his eyes all the way down to his chest. One of his legs ends in a normal Saiyan foot, while the other is a tri-toed Arcosian's foot.
It is believed that, with time and proper "nutrition", Endiver would be made to evolve and mutate further. Whether this would unify his body or alter it beyond recognition, nobody can be sure.
BACKGROUND: Arrogance is no stranger to the Saiyan race. They are undoubtedly prideful in every walk of life. Endiver was no different in this regard. Although most of his kin had decided to try out peace in the last hundred or so years, his heritage simply couldn't stand the idea. His blood boiled at the thought of peace.
Although conquering planets was out of the question due to the galactic peace, mercenary work suited him just fine. Forming his own company, the Crimson Apes, Endiver worked for decades to make a name for himself. Job after job, kill after kill. Soon enough, he'd gotten decent enough renown to get bigger jobs. Harsher climates and fiercer foes. It all started to look up.
Until he met Amara.
They were nothing more than associates at first, but her crew and Endiver's seemed to keep running into one another as time went on. More jobs required bigger teams, and the Crimson Apes were only so large. Silver Lightning was a powerful group in its own right, but that wasn't why he always recommended them. It was hard to admit, but he was infatuated with the woman. It was the kind of love only Saiyans could harbor for one another, and luckily (or perhaps unfortunately), she felt the same.
They were inseparable, for a time, but like all good things, it had to come to an end. Saiyans were not built for love, you see. At least not Endiver. He became colder and harsher. More bitter with each passing day. If he could remember the reasons today, one might imagine he'd think them silly.
Things hit their breaking point when the child they sired had been born. A strikingly tough kid, Scallio looked so much like his father that it almost sickened him. To raise a child was pointless work, but Amara had left him with the duty. Wasting a child by throwing him to the streets was even less eventful, so instead, he pushed the boy far more than he should have.
If one were to ask Endiver, he'd most likely argue that he raised the boy well enough, or rather his underlings had. Endiver tried very little with the boy until he was at least a handful of years old. He decided to push the boy any chance he had. Break the skin and mold a powerful warrior.
But Scallio perhaps grew too strong, too fast. Their relationship strained far past the breaking point, and it all came to a head during a job gone wrong. It didn't take much effort for the boy to kill his father and leave him to rot.
That's where the story should end. A dead man in an unmarked grave deep in Nowhere Space.
But fate was not so kind to a heartless man like Endiver. He would live, yes. It was unfortunate, though, that living came at such a cost.
From the nooks and crannies of the world, a creature shuffled into the light. What was once known as a Tuffle, the proud and intelligent race of beings, had come for him. This was no normal Tuffle, however. His body was once that of another creature, for he himself was a parasite. He was corrupt and lost. Alone for decades and wild with hate. He truly thought he was the last of his kind, and so he thought a plan for revenge. He would use this Saiyan and formulate a plot to destroy the man's kin for good.
It's presumed that this Tuffle did not have a name, but it certainly did. Todel was at some point or another a good person, but what little remained of his sanity had forgotten that.
Dragging the corpse somewhere dark and damp, the Tuffle worked tirelessly. Rearranging and changing and morphing and melding and mashing. For years it worked, and for years it seemed an impossible task to revive this lost creature... Until another subject ended up on the same rock Endiver died on.
It was an Arcosian space pod that smashed into the ground. The glass of the cockpit had shattered during flight, which would have been easy to survive for a Changeling. The real problem seemed to be the massive hole where his brain used to be. Was it a meteor or stray energy blast? Todel did not care. This once-proud lizardman was a pile of organs now. What mattered was that there was more parts to use.
He combined the two creatures in many ways. Blood in this vein, horns on this arm, bio-armor on this leg. It was a seemingly fruitless effort. He had forgotten the concept of hopelessness, so instead of giving up and rotting away, another idea wormed its way into his head.
The body was alive, however flimsily that word could be used, yet it lacked control. There was no brain activity. A host was needed to drive the vehicle of hate.
Without a second thought, Todel released the creature he'd been using as a host and dove into the body of Endiver. The horrible amalgam let out a shriek of pain as the Tuffle entered its system, and awoke the parts that could not kickstart themselves.
Nerve endings felt pain, eyes blinked, and a brain fired off warning signs. This creature was not meant to be. Three beings smashed into one that should never have even met. Fate would have a field day with this one.
Todel felt happiness for the first time in his life, but it was short lived. As the amalgam awoke, he found it impossible to control. He could move no limbs, nor speak no words. It took him time to understand, but as the beast crawled out of the canyon that housed the makeshift laboratory it grew in, dread began to sink in. The beast had, somehow, trapped him. Whatever mutations or modifications he himself made to Endiver and the nameless Arcosian had made them a terrifyingly powerful thing, both externally and internally. When Todel entered, it seemed that something else had awoken too. Something he did not notice before. A hatred that surpassed even his own drove the creature, and Todel was little more than a spectator to the wicked things whims
For a time, Endiver waited. He had no ship, so he simply terrorized the planet. Not much lived here that Todel hadn't already consumed, but what little remained kept him going. Allowed him to mutate and evolve ever-further. When a ship eventually did arrive, the beast had little trouble overpowering the crew.
Now, the beast is on a collision course with one of the World Trade Fleet's homeworlds, and it seems quite hungry...
TECHNIQUES:
OFFENSIVE/DEFENSIVE TECHNIQUES:
[A1] Claw - Endiver mutates his large arm, forming a claw at the end of it to swipe at the enemy. This deals 33% of Endiver's PL in damage to the foe.
[UA2] Infected Claw - Endiver mutates his large arm, forming a jagged set of claws to swipe at the enemy. This deals 66% of Endiver's PL in damage to the foe. If this attack is used and successfully hits the target, [UT] Tuffleization is attempted automatically.
[MA3] Blighted Claw - Endiver mutates his large arm, forming a claw that seems to drip and ooze a strange silver substance. This deals 100% of Endiver's PL in damage to the foe. If this attack is used and successfully hits the target, [UT] Tuffleization is attempted automatically.
[B1] Survival Instinct - When faced with a powerful attack, Endiver can mutate his arm to form a dome of chitinous armor, reducing the strength of incoming attacks. This protects Endiver with 33% of his defensive PL. If the attack breaks his barrier, then the appropriate amount of bleedthrough is reduced based on the difference in power.
SUPPORT TECHNIQUES: None.
UTILITY TECHNIQUES:
[UT] Tuffleization - Endiver's mutated body has produced what seems to be an infectious virus. Through either parasitic worms, or the slime-like substance that excretes from his mouth or mutated claws, Endiver can attempt to infect another character. Though Tuffleization normally seems to simply give up the body's control to a parasitic entity or host, this version of Tuffleization instead releases what can only be described as an intelligence-dampening parasite. It removes inhibition, increases bloodlust to an unbearable degree, and, if enough time passes, can turn the infected into a zombie. There is currently no known cure for this infection aside from death, however with the proper time, one could very easily find a cure for this strand of Tuffleization.
This technique automatically fails if the player does not consent to its use Out-Of-Character.
