Free DE Escapes And You
There seems to have been some confusion about this one, so just to quickly clarify, players are not granted a free escape from an open DE on change of intent - this has never been allowed outside of a non-DE thread becoming a DE.
More changes to open DEs and intent changes will be coming after this Mt. Frappe one closes up to address the other concerns that have popped up over intent changes, but for now, no one may escape for free and the intent change will be sticking.

Now that the anniversary month of February is over, all LTOs will be removed from the shop aside from the Blood Ruby Pendant, and the addition of a NEW LTO, the Hermit's Sunglasses! Go check out the shop if you're curious to see what these do!
If there's a specific LTO in the shop you've been gunning for and fell just short of reaching, please let us know and we can give you an extra week to reach the pricetag for it.

Otherworldly Changes!
A few new changes and additions will now be added regarding the Afterlife! For starters, The Heckway is no longer the only way to visit dearly departed souls - as of later today, a new location, the Heavenly Staircase, will be accessible from the Lookout on Earth, and allow living characters to create or join one thread in Heaven per month for the price of a Demon Lamp!
Additionally, the Soul Recycle Machine now no longer begins its countdown upon purchase of a set of keys - rather, the timer begins counting down upon the posting of your judgment thread! The Afterlife Keys may be purchased at any point while dead, but are only necessary for purchase when you're ready to recycle your soul. Afterlife Keys that have already been purchased will have this retroactively applied to them as well!

Otherworldly Changes! (part 2 boogaloo)
After some debate, we've re-flavored the Heavenly Stairs to the Furnace of Eight Divisions along with the sub-board it resides in, Mount Five Element. The function is still the same as detailed in the prior announcement, and it's now officially open for use. Check them out here!

Faction Requirements Up till now, the number of players coming together required to create a new player faction has been three active characters. However, from this point on, factions will now need five active characters to receive an on-site banner and Discord role in order to ensure more stability in current and future factions. Any current factions that lack this minimum will have one month to raise their number of active members to the new minimum in order to keep their on-site/Discord roles. |

Advertising is Back
Now that it's been a few months and our ads have been pushed far back enough on most sites, we will be reopening advertising for XP benefits! Going forward, we will likely open and close advertisements periodically every few months to give other forums and our grading staff a break. But for now, advertise away! |

Alien Hotfix This was meant to go out as a part of the major update, but it slipped through the cracks, so here it is now! Aliens have been slightly rebalanced to make them more even and have less dry spots where they're stuck with bad modifiers. The changes are as follows: A - x46P at 450,000 moved to unlock at 425,000 B - x28T at 350,000 changed to x26T at 300,000 New x37P form at 375,000 x46T at 415,000 moved to unlock at 425,000 C - x35 ATK / x30 DEF at 315,000 moved to unlock at 300,000 New x34P form at 350,000 x42P at 450,000 changed to a x43P |

You've all probably seen this coming, but we'd like to make the announcement official now:
World of Dragon Ball WILL BE REBOOTED TO A NEW SITE SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE!
We've been using the codename Project Sparking (name not final) for our next incarnation of WOD- which will take place in an entirely new timeline! Old characters can be refurbished and make a return, along with new characters. We will be tackling issues such as DE threads, making our progression system less grindy, and putting a focus on customization systems while trying to keep our mechanics reasonably simple.
We will still be listening to the community's critiques, suggestions, and all of that sort as we work on developing Sparking.
We DO NOT have a release date or any sort of estimate as to when this new incarnation will be done as many of its mechanics are still WORK IN PROGRESS, so please do not ask us when it will be released or what the final mechanics will look like- we don't know for sure yet either. We will let you know the answers to these questions as soon as we know ourselves.
Until then, WOD itself certainly has enough life left to last us until Sparking's release. Please be patient, and thank you for our three years of life on World of Dragon Ball!

Now, time for a bigger announcement!
Dragon Ball Sparking will very likely be ready to launch by mid-March!
We've been hard at work these last several months preparing the site for you all, and the fruits of our labors will finally be ready to enter public play sometime in March! While we won't state a specific release day yet, as it's possible it could be slightly sooner or slightly later, we will almost certainly be releasing around the middle of next month, with character applications possibly opening as early as the end of February!
However, as one thing begins, another must come to an end.
As of February 18th, 2021, World of Dragon Ball will no longer be accepting any new character applications.
While it is sad to see this iteration of the site come to an end, we're confident we'll all be able to build even greater memories ahead of us. The site will remain up indefinitely for everyone to look back on their old threads, but World of Dragon Ball will officially no longer be supported by us admins once the new site launches.
Additionally, players may no longer create Open DEs as of this announcement.
It would be a shame to start up a big saga only to have it suddenly cut short due to the site closing, so just to keep things simple, we will no longer allow any open DEs to be created. Closed DEs and any other types of threads are still fair game, however.
That's all for this announcement, but we'll have more for you all in the coming weeks. Thank you all again for being a part of World of Dragon Ball - we hope to see each and every one of you again in the next site!
