The soft padding of paws tapping against glass filled the air as the princess of all jakajin: Pharafel sashayed toward HER. Though, there was no fury or bitterness in the jakajin princess’ expression. Nay, there was only sadistic malice in her fanged grin as she continued her arrogant approach. Each step between them created a ripple of color as if the two had been striding upon a still pond composed of invisible light. Beneath them, was the saiyan kingdom’s crimson jewel: Planet Vegeta which was currently being overtaken by the World Trade Fleet.
“Isn’t it marvelous?” Pharafel questioned aloud, her blood red eyes staring down as the mighty fleet laid fire upon that wretched world. “You should feel honored. I’ve chosen to share the monkey’s greatest defeat with the monkey I despise the most: Kayen.” Her gaze trailed up as the shadowy woman she opposed was revealed to be Raiti-Zarco’s champion.
The phantom visage of Kayen bared her own teeth in a furious blood lusted snarl as she let her aura flare around her. The pulse of energy that ripped around the pirate was enough to send more waves of multicolored light beneath them in a brilliant display of rippling shimmers. The jakajin’s Cheshire grin only seemed to grow at the furious reaction. Pharafel extended her hands meanwhile to her sides while bowing her head slightly. “I must say, I am surprised a wretch like yourself has even an ounce of racial pride. Though I suppose there must be someone you care about down there...That crew of yours can’t be all you have after all. That’d just be pathetic!” The jakajin cooed, her eyes reflecting the devastation beneath her.
“Well, whoever it is you’re so fussed about...I suppose you’ll just have to visit them beneath the Fleet’s heel. Where they belong!”
That was enough to finally shatter the tension as the saiyan wraith suddenly exploded forth sending fractals of phantasmal glass splintering every which way in a spray of violent shrapnel. The shadow drew her tremendous cleaver as her jaw unhinged to let out a roar that bellowed with the force of the Great Ape. The jakajin meanwhile coated her arm in a fiery rush of vermilion light as she prepared for the oncoming attack. Princess stood against Champion as the planet of the apes began to be razed in a furious assault that hearken back to the ancient times.
That mighty downward arc was met with a glowing backhand that crashed between the two creating a wave of colored light that washed over everything between them. The visage of the planet’s attack began to crack under the weight of their first blow and only began to fracture more under the second. Pharafel pulled her arm back and smashed it into the phantom’s jaw causing her to crumble under the blow. “Did I strike a nerve? Don’t worry, I’ll make you fall like the rest of them!” She cried out as she felt her heart pound with a flush of excitement as the medley of her knuckles and the shadow’s jaw popping in unison filled her ears. The phantom shook it off however and retaliated with another overhead swing that smashed into the jakajin’s shoulder creating a splash of scarlet ichor that mixed with the multicolored ripples.
Pharafel gnashed her fanged teeth as she tried to endure the scorching pain from her fresh wound and instead pushed forward as she wrapped her large paws around the saiyan shadow’s waist. “You claim to be a leader! A champion! BUT LET ME SHOW YOU THE TRUE SAVAGERY OF AN ALPHA!” Pharafel cried out as she suddenly lifted the shadow up before POWERSLAMMING her down against the fractured phantasmal glass.
The platform gave way and so did the image of Planet Vegeta and both were swallowed into an endless void. The two struggled against one another as colored static began to piece together a new scene. Suddenly, in a flash of distortion: both of them crashed into the rock of the Raiti-Zarco asteroid. The two fighters found themselves in the center of a pile of bodies wearing armor similar to the jakajin’s own. Each had been stabbed or decapitated by a cleaver.
Pharafel gnashed her teeth as she watched her blood mix with the blood of her slaughtered platoon. Her black fur was stained red as she let her paws dig into the rock. “You’ve stained my lips with the bitter taste of defeat time and time again! You’ve made me make mistakes...COSTLY MISTAKES! So that’s why...I cannot lose here!” Pharafel suddenly howled as she threw her head up and fired a beam of vermilion light from her maw.
The shadow, meanwhile, seemed energized with the sight of her victories and smirked wickedly as inky black and purple energies surrounded the blade of her cleaver. With a distorted cackle: the saiyan wraith slashed forward and unleashed the torrent of energy sending a wave to meet the princess’ blood lusted howl.
The two energies met in a ferocious display of force that began to splinter the world around them once more. Red and black intermingled sending lashes out that sprayed between the two warriors further causing the world to crumble. Pillars of white light began to burst from the growing seams as the shade’s counterattack began to overpower the princess’ howl.
With a cacophonous explosion, Pharafel was consumed by a white light.

.
“...Pharafel.”
The child felt her gaze trail up to take in the sight of a beast of a man. That towering figure, those scars that were etched over his strong body, that mess of spiky purple hair that reached down his back, and that golden crown that glittered in the desert starlight...They all painted the picture of her father as she remembered him. Proud, strong, fearsome, regal. A true Alpha of the pack. The man placed a hand on the railing of the balcony of his castle that overlooked the holy city of the jakajin. He took a moment to breathe in Tatenen’s night before turning to glance aside at his daughter with a single viridian eye.
“Do you see that star over there Pharafel?” He asked the girl, pointing out a shimmering emerald light in the sky. The pup looked to it with wide eyes and gave a solemn nod. She felt no words come to her lips as she just stared upon the star, taking in it’s light.
“How does it make you feel?” He asked, looking out to the desert once more and the sea of stars beyond it.
“Tingly...Papa.” The pup responded honestly, feeling the flutter in her heart that caused her fur to stand on end the more she looked upon it. “I feel like...I could do anything papa!” She expanded on her thoughts as she gave her tail a little wag as she rushed to his side on the balcony.
“That...Is your star Pharafel. The Star of Canis.” He explained extending his hand to it while placing his other on the girl’s shoulder. “In the ancient times, it allowed the jakajin to rule this planet. The strongest of us could do great and impossible things when it shined brightest.” The king explained as he glanced down to his daughter, smiling at the wonder that flickered in her gaze.
“That was until the saiyans stole away your brothers and sisters to train them like their personal pets.” He spoke, smile breaking away into a soft frown as his fur bristled with the hatred of a centuries old grudge. He shook it off however as he knelt beside his child and placed both hands upon her shoulders to look into her eyes.
“One day...You’ll right those wrongs. You were born under the star’s brightest light. The star has blessed your destiny with fortune. I just know it.” He smiled, flashing his pointed teeth while his viridian eye glowed a bit brighter. “You’ll bring glory to both the jakajin and the liberators who saved our kind.” He reassured her with a gentle squeeze on her shoulder.
“I’ll do my best papa!” The pup barked with enthusiasm as the father drew his daughter into a loving embrace.
“I await the day… When you’ll glow brighter than the star itself.”
!!!
Pharafel’s eyes shot open as she felt her heart shatter as her memory was ripped to shreds. She tried to speak but only found a flood of copper welling up in the back of her throat. She took a shaky step back into the dark abyss before she reached forward with a twitching paw. With a pant of agony, she took hold of the hilt of the cleaver that had been stabbed through her chest. Her ruby red eyes trembled as she tried to make sense of what was happening.
How many times was she going to relive this failure? Was this her damnation? Over and over and over again her mind replayed a variation of that battle. HER DEFEAT. It was supposed to be her moment of glory but it was ripped from her paws at the last second. Ever since then she’s replayed the battle in this hellscape, always inching closer to victory but never attaining it. She was trapped in her own mindscape of failure, tormented by the apparition of her most hated foe.
She fell to her knees as her blood formed a sickly tide of red. In the center of that scarlet sea the girl waited...Only to hear a voice.
“Give in to the anger.”
It was HER voice.
“Hate me. Curse me.”
Pharafel’s gaze turned upwards as towering images of that damned saiyaness appeared around her, each laughing out in a rolling echo. Each one looked down upon her as if they were empowered by the jakajin’s damaged psyche.
“Give in to the anger.”
“Hate me. Curse me.”
The phantoms continued to laugh as colors began to distort and splinter off into reflections of different shades of one another. The laughing seemed to fade away as everything was consumed by an emerald light. A booming voice she would not yet recognize made a final demand.
“Rise! Pharafel!”

Pharafel’s eyes shot open in her healing pod. The jakajin princess screamed out, bubbles flooding around her face as she charged up her energy. The glass in front of her began to break bit by bit as she struggled in her tank. Before finally: she fired a burst of ki from her mouth to shatter the pod door.
The princess took a heavy step out of her secret hide away as she got her bearings and took in her first breath of fresh air in years. As she felt her heart rate begin to slow back down to normal she placed a hand on her chest where a vicious ‘X’ shaped scar had formed. She bared her fangs in disgust before trailing her gaze up to the emerald star shining brightly in the distance.
“Isn’t it marvelous?” Pharafel questioned aloud, her blood red eyes staring down as the mighty fleet laid fire upon that wretched world. “You should feel honored.
