“Carro?” As if things didn’t already make any sense, the entire situation became ten times weirder. Crop Co looked even more different from the inside. Just how much had things changed in the past however many years. Van-80 peered down to the rightfully scared saiyan. Human or even saiyan twins were usually the same age, right? Only a minute or two apart. “Uhh, Caper? Your son is right here? C-Carro… you’re also… right here? Or maybe… do you have any siblings?” Funnily enough, hearing Caper ask his son if he asked out a certain doragon confirmed it was him.
“That’s my dragon,” he grumbled to himself. Come to think of it though it was strange they never even tried going out. Now was not the time to worry about the Crop Co dating tree though. There was a scared and tearful Carro to comfort.
“Hey hey! Don’t worry about it little Carro,” he coo, attempting to scoop the little toddler into his arms, “we’ll get to the bottom of this.” This was where his robotic computerized brain was both a blessing and a curse. Though he lacked the same processing power and sheer range of knowledge as Ima, he could still piece together information at blazing speeds. Unfortunately, this was also an artificial intelligence’s biggest fear. A true paradox. There were two Carro’s in two different places. On top of that, one was much younger. Earlier Van was sure he was back what had to be twenty or so years. But this Caper was more focused on the older more recognizable Carro. Which meant he was now somehow in that Carro’s time. Poor Ima would probably be convulsing in a corner or just completely shut down.
“Guess I’ll have to find out what’s going on the old fashioned way.” That way is to simply find out. The pretty bot was created with a more human-like thought processor. For now, he had to work with what he had. Two Carro’s, at least one Caper, and some sort of project they were working on. As Van-80 followed them he had a sneaking suspicion he knew what this project was. His eye lit up. “LEO!” He looked down at the little Carro. “I got an idea. If you can see me then I’m willing to bet LEO can see us too.”

CARRO's PL: 100 (ANTISENSE) || LEO's PL: 200,000
The glassy-eyed toddler only found his expression scrunching in further confusion at the mention of LEO. He had yet to ever meet his eventual partner, but Van seemed confident about it... And just like this android, the name sounded comfortingly familiar despite this being the first time he'd heard it. Still, looking at his 'impostor' and father felt all kinds of weird and wrong. Thankfully the elevator doors opened soon enough, opening to a much smaller, developing Plexroid laboratory.
In the back of the hangar was a familiar orange glow. "Hey, 'Lee!" The taller Carro hopped towards the slumped, metallic form. LEO's usual pristine white plating was nearly completely missing, exposing layers of skeletal structural supports, churning gears and glowing wiring now visible with her "skin" stripped away. Massive cables and scaffolding held up the half-built feline, though she raised her head slightly with the sound of the elevator opening, expressionless. She looked more befitting as the monster of a horror movie rather than the one to hold the role of Earth's strongest protector in her incomplete state.
"We really need to get on the whole armor-plating part. The shipment should be here like, tomorrow, right?" Caper quipped to the intern Carro, who just shrugged back. "Well, least we can do is add the final touches her sensors and stuff until then. Though didn't you say you wanted to test out the armor thing too?" He turned, offering the quiet mech a meek smile. "I-I mean, I'm sure you'd like to be able to think straight soon, right LEO?" LEO didn't respond, her blank, orange eyes still as before. Carro sighed, unbothered. "...And a vocalizer would be nice. Y-you can pick it out!"
"In all seriousness, though, you've got to take me out on a ride with her too once you're piloting her!" Caper hummed in agreement. LEO wasn't originally meant to be Carro's partner. "I'll be running some diagnostics here, you get to work on tune-up duty." Carro waved off his father to head to LEO's side with a toolbox. "Break a leg."
Though the father and son duo didn't seem to notice, occasional flickers of green could be spotted in LEO's eyes. 'What... Where--' An exhausted, disoriented voice would echo in Van's head as the feline's claws clenched. '...Oh.' For a moment, a familiar pair of green pupils flickered into LEO's eyes as realization sunk in. 'Oh no no- no.' She couldn't move her body to run from this hauntingly familiar scene Carro's memories had dragged her linked conscious into. Even then, she could pick the odd person out. Dread began to creep in. 'H-how are you here-!?' Something new began to fester in the feline's tone something she'd never shown before around those that weren't her pilot- pure terror. 'Run. Don't l-look, just run.' The younger Carro in Van's hands curled even tighter in growing fear and concern. There was a sinking feeling in his gut he couldn't ignore as the green pupils in LEO's eyes vanished again. Was she going to be alright?
"...That's weird." Caper's brow furrowed in concern as he flipped through LEO's scans. What were some of the Life Link protocols doing active? They were far from stable and weren't even supposed to be active without another host for it. "Hey, Carro? We might need to cut it short for today. Can you put her in sleep mode...?"

LEO sure looked different. Van-80 had no way of knowing just how long the plexroid took to finish off the top of his head. But with a collegiate Carro, a walking Caper, and a literally bare-bones LEO it was safe to assume this was fairly recent. It was almost a macabre sight seeing a fellow machine stripped to her metal skeleton. It seemed she was no more thrilled about the pretty bot seeing her like this either.
“Run? LEO why would I do that? Sure you look a little scary but you’re not THAT frightening my dear.” He gave the toddler Carro a gentle rock, “Don’t worry, she just looks a little freaky, you and LEO become best friends when you grow up.” An almost comedically long pause would stretch between his reassurance and the epiphany slapping him upside the head. “WAIT WHAT?! You can see me too! But how are you talking to me? You should be linked with… Carro…” If she was supposed to be linked with the CEO, why was the taller Hofferson supposed to be her pilot? How was she linked to him right now? Though still far from the reality of the situation, Van-80 came to what would be his closest conclusion yet. “LEO… did Carro and I actually fuse? If so then that would explain why you can talk to me. But then what about you?” Van held the smaller Carro aloft in his arms to get a better look at him. Something was foul in the City of Central.
A sickening thought crossed Van’s processors. “Hang on. If Caper was your original pilot… LEO, how did Caper end up in his wheelchair?” A small hint of panic started creeping into his voice. “Why do we need to run? What’s going on here?!” The panic slowly matured into full-grown fear. None of what was going on made any sense. Yet what little information the beauty-obsessed android could piece together all pointed to that everyone in this room was in danger. “I’m not in the past am I?”

CARRO's PL: 100 (ANTISENSE) || LEO's PL: 200,000
LEO's eyes remained blank, her face still expressionless- save for the slow, yet steady opening of her jaws. Either she couldn't hear or couldn't respond to Van anymore, if her uncanny silence in response to him was anything to judge. With his last questions, the lights above flickered. Though the mech herself couldn't answer, the world inside Carro's head itself seemed willing to get straight to the point as the room went dark.
There was a horrible screech of metal scraping against the floor and walls as orange light shone from the prototype plexroid's thrashing form, pulling free of the mess of cables and support with a shrill roar. The taller Carro barely managed to scamper out of the way to avoid being crushed by a claw, frozen in fear with his back to the wall and tail between his legs. His younger self had already latched onto his android friend's arm with a death grip, cowering at the unfolding scene. Caper yelled something, though it was inaudible with the thunderous echoes of LEO's mechanisms.
The shambling mech's orange eyes scanned through the room like floodlights, seemingly glossing over Van and his Carro for the time being. Instead, as the cannons on her back hissed with energy, she set her sights on the other orange-haired saiyan paralyzed at her feet. The flood of errors on the numerous screens nearby made one thing abundantly clear- LEO was not in control of herself. Without a completed mind to think and nothing but half-finished code to guide her, she moved to slam a mangled claw at her paralyzed partner with fatal intent.
"--I SAID MOVE!" A flash of orange was followed by a splash of red and a sickening snap as the feline's claws dug into both the metal wall and bloodied flesh. Her talons withdrew with another mindless screech to slash at the wall and cieling to cause more debris to fall, but revealing just what had happened back in Carro's youth.
"N-no, nonono-- g-get up! P-please! Dad, say something!! I'm s-sorry, I--!!" Pushed out of the way of harm, Carro quickly scrambled to shake his father's limp form. There was a massive gash in his waist, while his legs had been crushed and stained red from being trampled. His trembling son only barely managed to tug his dying parent out of the way of a metallic panel falling from the wall, staring up in horror at their creation.
LEO reared her head back to roar again, another wave of ki starting to build up in her cannons. The nightmare had only just begun.

Van didn’t need to hear any more from the robotic lioness. The answers to his questions were played out right before his eyes. LEO must have malfunctioned and attacked the two saiyans. Leaving Caper paralyzed and Carro terrified. Van-80 may not have known exactly how or why any of this happened. But he knew this was not beautiful. The plexroid was building up another attack, his scanners could pick up a large buildup of energy coming from LEO. He looked down at the Carro he held in his hands. Could he defend either of them from someone as powerful as LEO? To Van’s knowledge though, Caper should be the only one left scarred.
“Listen little Carro. I don’t know what’s going on here. But I need you to hide with the bigger Carro. I know she won’t hurt you.” Were he human, his forehead would be dripping with sweat. His muscles would tighten and he’d be quivering in fear. The only sign of his terror was the small quiver at the corner of his lip. He knew he had no chance against LEO but he couldn’t let her just attack either Carro without doing anything.
Vanity quickly darted in front of the Hoffersons, his body shimmering pink. “Come on now LEO dear,” he said with an obvious fear gripping his voice. “I know you’re in there. You spoke to me earlier. Please I need you to stop before you hurt them any more!” The beauty-obsessed android braced himself for an attack. Would his barrier even be enough? More importantly, could he even interact with anyone besides the small Carro?

CARRO's PL: 100 (ANTISENSE) || LEO's PL: 200,000
The tiny Carro stared up in terror and worry as Van spoke, glancing from him to his older self and crippled father. He quickly nodded in spite of the tears fogging his vision, hopping to the ground when his friend stood between them and the prototype Plexroid. "Wh--" The taller saiyan looked up, terror briefly vanishing in place of sheer confusion. Who was that android and how did he get down here? And was that himself but smaller?! Was he dreaming? He wanted to wake up if that was the case. Though his smaller self looked ten times more terrified, the toddler grabbed his father's arm with a tug, turning back to the still-open elevator on the other side of the room. "I-- U-uh... r-right." The other Carro quickly caught on.
LEO, on the other hand, stopped to turn back to the anomaly in her sights. She hissed at the smaller android, back still arched and jaws bared. In the middle of his speech right as he was about to tell her not to hurt the other two, the feline pounced forwards with another slash of her claws while eerily mimicking the same motion that paralyzed Carro's father. Regardless of if her heated claws struck through Van or the flooring, she'd slam her head onto the ground to try and take a bite out of her newfound opponent. To his surprise, the power heading toward Van was surprisingly small. But this was still LEO he was up against. Not to mention he was unfused. He could at least activate his B.U.T. drive. But would that even be enough? His mind was already racing when he swore that the older Carro actually spoke to him. His gaze snapped to his much more familiar looking friend, eye wide.
“Did you just-?” He was definitely talking to him. A low chuckle escaped Van, followed by a loud grunt. Multiple warning signs flashed as the attack barreled toward him. In his moment of distracted comfort, Van had left himself wide open to LEO’s attack. Luckily he did manage to get a barrier up, even if he only managed to get a fraction of his power into it. Another warning popped up in his periphery.
“Oh, you gotta be kidding me!” His barrier malfunctioned. Which only happened when someone literally more through it. Already he was taking a heavy hit. Van-80 was thrown to the ground with a searing hot claw mark going through his back. But LEO wasn’t done. The pretty bot glanced behind him to see a giant set of metallic teeth gnashing toward him. He quickly spun around and caught the cat by her jaws. “Come on LEO! If you’re in there-” one again he was cut off by the sheer force of this lion’s bite. At least the Carro’s weren’t her target. He could fight her off until they escape then make a run for it.

CARRO's PL: 100 (ANTISENSE) || LEO's PL: 200,000
The rabid android's jaws were swiftly caught, though not for long. With their persisting difference in strength, LEO would quickly make the gap ever more evident by attempting to jerk her head to the side to throw Van right off and through one of the crumbled walls. She only roared again in response to his attempt to get through to her. The Hoffersons on the other hand were still shakily trying to creep away from LEO without being spotted, but her sights shifted to the two 'twins' after a moment.
The duo bareky managed to duck low enough to avoid LEO slamming her head into the wall, fearfully scrambling out of the way as more rubble crumbled from the ceiling. The second saiyan slinked back, still holding his father's body close as he looked at his smaller copy. What was he even supposed to say to this doppelganger and the stranger defending them?
LEO pried her head out of the wall with another garbled growl. Both of the orange-haired saiyans managed to hide behind a pile of rubble with Caper still in tow. The lion seemed content to fire another laser mindlessly around the room, missing any targets but causing the supports to crumble more and more. The ceiling creaked- any more serious damage and it might all collapse down...

With her firm grip, LEO would find it relatively easy to throw the android around like a ragdoll. Van-80 crashed through the already dubious wall. Multiple warning signs blared through his vision as he took a moment to get his bearings. Even this half-finished monstrous version of the plexroid could take him no problem. Still, as she focused her attention on the Hoffersons, he knew he had to at least try.
The beauty-obsessed android burst through the wall once more, taking flight above LEO. Just as she wantonly fired her laser through the room, he’d try and crash down onto the top of her head. He forced out a very fake smile. All he had to do was treat this like their old sparring sessions.
“Oh no! You keep your eyes on me LEO!” Van held up his hands, a small orb of ki forming in each palm. “Else you may just lose them!” He’d then fire into each of her eyes. With their difference in power, the attacks would likely only blind her at best for a moment or two. That was assuming his blasts even hit, to begin with.

CARRO's PL: 100 (ANTISENSE) || LEO's PL: 200,000
The mindless machine's rampage was cut off by a weight on her head. Before she could think to shake off the smaller robot, the mech would find herself hissing in pained frustration as two blasts struck her square in her still-unmoving, wide eyes. Blinded, the feline staggered backwards into more rubble. Her twin cannons swerved forwards, blazing with ki intent to strike Van- and her own head, though she lacked the mind to care about that right now.
Meanwhile, the larger of the two Carros had managed to slink his way to the elevator with his bleeding father in tow. "A-alright, alright... Kais above, w-what even..." He'd really dove off the deep end. What was all this he was seeing?! Some strangely familiar android, their half-built Plexroid going off the rails and nearly killing her creator- his father- was Caper even going to make it? And to top it all off he was hallucinating this tiny version of himself that was now... nowhere to be seen?
The tiny future President had followed his older self to a point, but found himself turning back to look at the ensuing chaos... Was Van going to be alright? It didn't feel right just leaving him here- something in his head kept telling him that he had to help. Though still cowering out of sight behind the debris, the tiny saiyan peeked out of hiding to the feline and her foe as she hissed and slashed at the air again. There had to be something he could do...

Of course, it would be no good. The mechanical feline didn’t even flinch for a moment. LEO’s cannons were pointed right at him. Van-80 only had time for his own thoughts of despair. But why was LEO’s power so low? That first blast should have turned the pretty bot into a burned outline on the wall. Even the power building in her oncoming attack felt so much less than what he knew she was capable of. Then it hit him. This wasn’t his LEO. A small smile finally crept across Van’s lips. Maybe this wasn’t as hopeless as he first thought. She was limited to her current power for the time. Van had plenty left.
He let the blast hit him dead-on, honestly hoping this sight was more than shocking for the tiny president watching below and his older self. However, through the smoke would shine a faint blue light. Then a loud almost cackling chuckle filled to the brim with cocky arrogance. The android then hopped down from his perch, aiming to land in front of the smaller Carro.
“Shouldn’t you be running?” he asked with a cocked eyebrow. Now, this would be a much more welcome and familiar sight even for this unknowing Carro. Van-80 with a cocky smirk ever so slightly unhinged. “Well, whatever you do I’ll be sure to keep you safe. Me, I just had a realization.” He turned around to face the monstrous-looking mech. His empty eye socket began to glow with a vibrant pick light. “I get to live a little dream of mine. Watch carefully Carro, and remember this many years from now. This will be absolutely… BEAUTIFUL!”
With his wild almost animalistic cry, Van-80 raised his arms as if prompting the cat in front of him to jump straight into his arms. “Come on LEO! Give me that fight I always wanted from you!” As he called to her, he’d send two more blasts, much more powerful than the first to follow his words. Finally, after being entire planets behind her, Vanity would get the thrill of suplexing LEO. Of course, he would have to work for it. But he learned that beauty was something you had to work hard to truly find. From the same little boy now standing behind him.
