It was a crisp, cool night in the forest. The full moon shone brightly through the tree like an incandescent stoplight, bathing the forest floor in shimmering twilight. Everything was still, not even the hint of a breeze ruffled the ancient treetops of the sacred woods. In this half-darkness, only one figure moved. It was Lao, stumbling around in the dark like a jackass for what felt like the millionth time this week. "Goddamn... friggin' camp... gah!" Lao tipped over ungracefully as his foot caught on an exposed root, sending him tumbling into the dirt like a fool. He was lost, gone to 'use the facilities' and then unable to find his way back to his camp. His strength, reflexes, and speed might have been superhuman, but his sense of direction was not. And as it turns out, no matter who you are, trying to navigate a densely wooded forest in the dark is a pain in the rear. Picking himself up off the ground, Lao conceded that he might need a light.
Bringing a light into the Fukurou Forest was not among the wisest of choices a traveler could make. These were no normal woods, but a forest as sacred and mystical as any across the dimensions. Many strange beings lurked here, both benevolent and not-so-much. Waving around a light in the middle of the dark forest was like hanging a "please harass me" sign around your neck, but Lao was out of options. With his fire almost certainly gone out by now, there's no way he'd find his camp from the air. It was time to light this place up. Pooling his ki into his palm, Lao created a glowing ball of pure white energy, illuminating his form and the dark forest around him, much like a lantern. With his light-ball in hand, Lao began to attempt to navigate the forest in earnest, and hopefully recover his bearings without anything spooky happening. Hopefully.

Yogu was on his way back to the lookout after a long day of doing absolutely nothing. Just wandering around the planet, training a little bit, buying hetaps in bulk, then thinking about how nice it would be to be alive again. That seemed to be the monotonous loop he'd been in for the past few weeks. But hey! He could drown out the sudden clarity of just how boring and sad his life had become with hetap! It was strange, now that he thought about his sudden addiction to hetap. It was the only food or drink that made him feel any different. Just what the hell was in this stuff? He supposed the health side effects of chugging this stuff non-stop didn't matter since he was already dead. Enough about hetap though, because he had finally reached the last leg in his journey back! Fukurou Forest. Yogu never really liked this place. It gave him the heebie-jeebies! So there he was, stumbling down a path deep in the forest. Why didn't he just fly over it? Cause sometimes, he wanted to feel like a normal person without crazy abilities like being able to fly. It was eerily quiet as he continued his way deeper into the forest. Then something finally broke the silence. Somewhere off the path, he heard a thump, and then someone talking. After jumping behind a tree and peering out into the dark, Yogu spotted a light, and connected to that light was just... Some guy? Just wandering around Fukurou Forest at night? " Why the hell would he do that? Is he tryin' to get killed by some pissed off spirit?" Well, seeing some dude just in the thick of the forest was more than enough to peak Yogu's interest. Heading deeper in the forest towards the man, Yogu cracks open another hetap to signal his arrival. With how quiet it was around there, it might as well have been a grenade going off. Still a good distance away, Yogu decides to greet the man. " Yo! The hell're you doin' out here?! Ya know ghosts live out here, right?"

Lao was already shocked to find the silence of the woods broken by the cracking sound of a can being opened, so he nearly jumped out of his skin when somebody called out to him. "Aaah! Who's there?" he shouted, swinging his little ki orb of light around wildly until it illuminated the culprit. It was... some guy? "Don't sneak up on a guy like that! If ya gotta know, I'm lost. My camp's somewhere around here, but I got turned around." As he stopped and looked around, it confirmed his fears. He was no closer to figuring out where his camp was. The dark forest around him looked just the same as every other pitch-dark patch of forest for the next hundred miles.
Sighing heavily, Lao turned back to the person who had called him out. "Anyway, what're you doing out here? Wait a minute... Lao took a few steps forward, eyeing the newcomer intently. He hadn't noticed it before, but although this guy looked like an earthling at first glance, he was slightly see-through... and that cold tinge to his aura.... "Aha! You're one o' them ghosts, aren'tcha?" He looked more curious than afraid, his predicament totally forgotten in the rush of seeing something new.

That crack from his can was enough to scare the guy pretty bad. Yogu was surprised he didn't jump high enough to crack his head on a tree branch! He couldn't help but let out a snicker seeing the dirty looking dude get scared. Although, he was pretty sure if the roles were reversed he'd probably freak out way more. Well, it turns out the guy was lost. And he was having a real tough time figuring out his way back to his camp. " Well, that's no good, my dude. Ya know that's like, exactly the thing you're not supposed to do in this forest, right? Why do ya think there're so many spirits here? They get lost and kick the bucket. Real spooky stuff." The camper turned the conversation on Yogu, asking exactly what he was doing there. And now he was accused of being one of the ghosts from the forest! He was a little offended if he was being honest. " HeyheyHEY! Don't lump me in with these pissed off poltergeists! Some dumb forest couldn't take me out, ya got that?! But... Yeah, I'm dead. Think of me as some traveling spirit, searching for a purpose. Yeah. That's a cool way to look at that." Finally, Yogu tapped into his energy sensing, and found that this guy was pretty strong! His energy was nothing to sniff at. " Hey, why the hell haven't you just flown up above the trees and found your camp that way? You must be able to control your ki like that if you're that strong!" It was then that Yogu realized that he had completely forgotten about introducing himself! " Aw, crap! Forgot to give ya a name! The name's Om-Yogu! You can just call me Yogu though, got it?" Yogu looked around at their surroundings, whistling a tune. It was then that he realized he had completely forgotten where he was too. Not to mention that the shadows cast by that ball of ki were starting to play tricks on him. He swore he could see a face between those two trees just a second ago... " H-Hey, how's about we stick together, eh? In case one of those freaks pop out and try to get us? Strength in numbers, ya know?" A ghost that was afraid of ghosts. How strange.
