APPEARANCE: Ares is an incredibly masculine individual that stands at 6'5, and weighs over 250 lbs. He posses an extremely athletic and muscular physic that would even make most other Shinjin jealous. He possesses short black hair with a simple beard in his base form. His skin is slightly tanned, a common tone among humans, saiyans, and shinjin. In addition to this, he is noted for his dark brown eyes, and incredibly broad chest. Certainly a hard individual not to spot. Despite whether conditions and social norms, Ares can typically be seen wearing a tribal-style garb with a few plates of armor.
BACKGROUND: The old tales say that golden fruits from the world tree form the Shinjin, and the rotten ones form the demons. This begs the question, a fruit that possesses no luster nor rot, what does it create? That question would be the tale of Ares. A single fruit lacked shine and luster, but was not rotten in the slightest, This fruit would become Ares. The fruit would fall from the tree, and from it, a child would come. Not a fully grown shinjin, but a mere child. He would need to grow before his true colors were shown, but he was not demonic at first glance.
The baby acted as most others, it needed much attention, to which many kind shinjin would oblige. Ares would act as a orphaned child being raised by the community, rather than parents. His early years would be pleasant, but there would be many who saw him as lesser. He had never heard the gossip growing up, but it was there... Once he reached his teen years, the rumors became a bit more prevalent, many feared he was a potential demon. Others thought one day he might just snap, and go on a killing spree. Some were so fearful of this fate, they plotted.
One man decided the best way to insure a good future was to instill discipline. While many like the idea in theory, they didn't much care for it in application. The man was an older Shinjin who decided to train Ares in martial arts. The young shinjin would become enthralled with his training, becoming a hardened machine within a few short months. Before long he was throwing energy attacks, and flying through the air with ease. He had even mastered the Magic Materialization technique, adding nearly any weapon he could think of to his arsenal. In a short time, he had gone from tactical to brutal in combat. While the old master would claim this as a success, others didn't see it so.
Before long, Ares would hear tales of their people. A select few among them were gods who held positions of great power, some were watchers, others fulfilled certain tasks. Ares would ask if there was an actual "Kai of War" a being to represent all martial arts in the universe. In honest, the old man wasn't quite sure, giving the simple answer 'perhaps'. That was all the young man needed to hear before responding, "Then I will continue my training, and someday, I shall be the Kai of War."
He would continue to train for decades, until he had defeated nearly any opponents who faced him. His master would come to him with a grand suggestion, a challenge. With no known foes left to face in the upper planes, he should try his luck in the mortal realms. Many individuals there possessed incredible strength, and if he were to become a proper 'Kai of War' he'd need to defeat them all. It was a fair point, and magnificent idea. The shinjin would pack his bags, and use his natural abilities to travel to earth.
