Riis PL: 20,000
Riis always knew that his position came with a great deal of danger. Seeing the saiyan Cress show up at his doorstep with his brother’s head was proof enough of that. Even then going from Prince to King made him at least ten times more of a target. That’s why he had to make sure he was ready. In the event the worst should happen, he needed a backup plan. Who better to trust than the woman that brought him to the throne in the first place?
“Send Ikra to my chambers,” he ordered one of his stewards, “she’ll probably be beside herself with that prospect,” he chuckled to himself. The King gently clutched at the blood-red pendant dangling from his neck. His most valuable possession. It kept him in check whenever his monstrous side wanted to take hold. It even let him stay in his right mind whenever he transformed. But what good would it be to him if he died?

I GIVE YOU MY HEART Ikra's PL: 33,000
Ikra sniffled and dabbed at her nose for the umpteenth time since being given the news that her darling Riis wanted to see her in his chambers. When the steward had passed on that message, she had squealed with delight and fallen victim to a bit of a nosebleed after imagining a shirtless Riis. Checking herself in the mirror to ensure that the bleeding had stopped and that she looked presentable, she ran her hand through her hair a few more times before nodding to herself. Alright! She looked perfect! Not even one little hair out of place. With as much haste as she could muster without messing up any tiny part of her immaculate appearance, Ikra threw open the door to her room and strode proudly through the halls of the palace. It wasn’t a long journey before she found herself at his door. She knew the palace inside and out by heart. Even its most secret and forgotten places. It was only right and natural that she did, given her position. Knocking on the door, Ikra grabbed the handle and swung it open slowly, half-hoping to see a shirtless Riis awaiting her. Perhaps with the slightest hint of disappointment, she spotted her darling Riis - not shirtless. Still, she was delighted to see him, especially having been summoned expressly to his chambers. Her mind ran wild with fantasies as she approached him and kneeled before him as she had on the day that he had finally summoned her to be at his side. “My king, I am here~!” She said with perhaps a little too much excitement lacing her tone. She made an effort to compose her emotions and tried again. “What is it that you require? You need only say it, and it will be so.”Despite herself, Ikra looked up at her dear Riis’s face and smiled a gentle, loving smile. Her mind was still going wild, but she had managed to hold those at bay if only for the thought that she might be able to serve or help him in some way.

“Ikra, please come in. No need for formality in here.” Though he didn’t say it, making this situation more formal only served to deepen his worries. With something so valuable and important the king needed more than a servant. He needed someone he could trust implicitly. Someone like Ikra. He anxiously tugged at the ruby pendant dangling from his neck. It was now or never.
“Ikra. You’ve watched over me since before I even met you. So I have no doubt you know about my monstrous form.” That would make this at least a little easier. Were this anyone else he would likely have to demonstrate his more destructive side. “You probably also know why I carry around my pendant. It helps me stay in control.” As Riis spoke he carefully slipped the jewelry from his neck. “It’s become my most prized possession. Something I’m honestly scared to go without.” He stared at his reflection, it’s face taking his more hideous form. He narrowed his eyes and quickly yanked the jewel away from his line of sight.
“But after that disgusting Cress showed his face, I actually felt scared for my life. I realized that being able to control it is less important than living for my people. For our people.” He held out the necklace, letting the blood ruby slowly spin on the gold chain dangling from his hand. “I need someone I trust more than anyone to look after it for me. I promise I have no desire to throw my life away. But if, Kais forbid, anything should happen to me I need to know this is kept safe. Ikra, I ask you not as your king, but as someone who trusts you more than anyone. Will you keep this safe for me?”

I GIVE YOU MY HEART Ikra's PL: 33,000
Ikra felt excitement bubbling up inside of her when darling said that there was no need for formalities. Her fingers and toes tingled with glee. Did that mean this was a more personal matter? Her recently calmed mind went wild again, imaging being able to kiss her sweetheart. She felt like steam might pour out of her ears. Was it getting hot in here? Her smile, more dreamy than gentle now, wavered only when dear Riis mentioned his monstrous form.
She grew concerned, knowing how deeply his monstrous form troubled him. She stood tall and nodded with her hands neatly clasped together. Of course she knew of it. She was privy to most if not all of her dear Riis’s secrets. She also knew of the purpose of the pendant, so to both of his questions, she was able to nod proudly. Her face creased with concern again when he mentioned that he was frightened to go without his pendant.
“Please, fear not, my dearest Riis… even if you were to lose it, I would never allow any harm to come to you or your subjects. You’ve my word!”
But before she could further reassure him, Riis continued. Her hands clenched into fists when he said that he’d felt scared for his life. She felt horrible. She should have been strong enough to ward off any threat. She should have been able to reassure him with her very presence. When she next looked at her darling Riis, he was holding out the pendent to her, making her eyes wide with surprise.
“I… I…” Ikra’s composure shattered, her golden eyes shining and growing teary with emotion, “O-Of course, Riis…!” Instead of taking the outstretched pendent, she threw herself at him and wrapped her arms around his neck in a warm hug. “I promise you I’ll keep it safe. Your trust is not misplaced! But…”
She broke off the hug, looking at him with worry.
“Are you certain, my dearest Riis? I know you’ve promised me that you’ll not throw your life away, but I do wonder… Please tell me that you’re not going to put yourself at risk by doing something by yourself. How am I to be your shield and die protecting you if you’re all on your own?”
