So far, her time spent on Earth had been... less than ideal. The hybrid ghost buster's duty was to wrangle any escaped spirits and deliver them back to Otherworld, and while she was good at her job, there had been certain setbacks that weighed heavily on her mind. The bruise dealt to her pride by the undead Namekian the week prior still stung, and it was difficult not to think about how utterly she had failed.
And, how sorely she had been beaten.
In the wilderness of the West, far removed from civilization, Laverna had set up camp where it would be difficult for one to simply find her by accident. A small tent had been set up by the unlit fire, and a purple scooter sat at rest nearby. Several changes of clothes and a collection of creature comforts lay inside the tent, but their owner was not at her camp now.
Several hundred yards away, the woman continued her training. Dressed in a set of white shorts and tank top, the latter of which was clearly printed with the letters "H E L L" on its front, she grunted and growled at the effort of carrying the large boulder that rest upon her back; even her tail helped to keep it steady when her arms were not enough. Sweat beaded her reddened skin, and made her purple hair to cling to her brow, neck and shoulders.
This was only the usual uniform of one who's duty it was to police the souls of the Otherworld, however. What struck out was the watch worn on her wrist, and one that radiated magic that made her task all the more difficult and intense. She had been skeptical of its purpose at first, but now that she was here -now that she was feeling its power, she understood all too well. The device increased gravity's effects on her body, rendering something so simple a task as carrying a boulder as nigh impossible when she'd first attempted it.
"RaaaAGHh!" Her growl built in her throat, and she yelled at the effort of setting the massive rock down on the soft grass beside her. Her breaths came labored, but in only seconds, she was able to control and contain them. The sore ache in her body, even, was quick to dissipate with only a short rest.
Even so, she felt oddly excited to resume, despite knowing she might hurt herself if she didn't take a brief few moments to recover first. Her brown eyes slowly lifted up to the sight of the rising, waning moon just above the horizon. Night would be upon her soon, she thought.
After taking a deep breath, Laverna returned to her camp to start the fire. She had brought several days' worth of food with her, but now, worked up as she was and underneath the gaze of such a beautiful moon, she felt like having something more... fresh. She shrugged at such a feeling, and directed a small bolt of her own life force from her fingertip and into the heart of what would soon be a roaring campfire.

Thread PL: 14,000 | Gravity Level: (x10) [Will possibly change upon grading]
A dull ache still wracked Kara's body, a constant and painful reminder of her own inadequacy at controlling her own Ki. She'd just recovered from her internal explosions with the lucky intervention of Earth's God themselves - or Kami as they were called. The Namekian had been kind enough to heal her, give some pointers, and now Kara was back to wandering, for the time being, heading even further west than she had before. Despite the advice to halt or at least slow her training down, Kara simply couldn't - not if she wanted to be useful in defending the Earth. Not if she wanted to stop another Namek from happening. She was weak, pathetically so, and everyone around her was either way below or far above her threshold, making training all the more frustrating. Even if she wasn't going to try and force her Ki to flow properly again... Kara still had other ways to get stronger.
Like the gravity belt clamped firmly over her torso, making what should've been a simple walk through nature into a training exercise all on its' own. She really needed to start getting more use of it, honestly, if the anecdotes of super-strong warriors were anything to go by. Unlike the classic method of weighting your clothing, gravity purportedly worked even when you could stand toe-to-toe with a Super Saiyan! And since Kara was already playing for the long-term goal... she might as well. Unlike a certain unknow Ogre hybrid up ahead, however, the Earthling had yet to master the ability to sense energy. Or even fly, for that manner. Kara was simply beelining on a path that would miss Laverna's encampment by half a mile or so, if the Human wasn't intercepted on her path there.

In the end, she had decided against the canned goods she had brought with her. Having cleaned herself and wiped the sweat off her body with a fresh towel, Laverna traversed the forest at a quick pace, on light but swift footsteps. She could feel the life forces of many creatures in the wilderness, though all but one were so minuscule as to be laughable as a threat. These, she knew, were the animals she had to pick from...
... Yet, that singular, powerful soul making its way along the nearby trail caught her attention. It was a living entity, and not an escaped spirit of Otherworld, but that was all she could determine at this distance. The scent seemed similar to the rest of Earth's population; at least, those who were native to the planet. There was something... puzzling about it, too. Something was off, but the growling pit in her stomach took priority over such curiosities.
Even after her workout, it didn't take long for the hybrid to track a particularly delicious looking pig. At such speeds as she was capable, it had hardly had the time to squeal before she'd broken its neck and hauled its carcass up onto her shoulder; it hung down her back from its hind legs held firmly in her hand. So, with her supper in tow and the evening light turning to a brilliant orange, she walked happily back towards her camp.
In her focus on her impending meal, she had forgotten the curious soul that had been traveling nearby. It was only when she had stepped out from the cover of the trees and onto the trail, barefoot and with her tail swishing gleefully in her wake, that she recalled feeling the powerful entity growing close. With her horns casting a large shadow from the setting sun to her side, she blinked and stared briefly at the sight of the woman, clearly an Earthling.
"Good evening," the words escaped her before she could stop to think of where she was and how she was dressed. King Yemma wanted his workers to be professional at all times, after all. However, such pleasantries didn't slow her pace, as she continued on towards the glow of her fire in the distance.

Every time her mind started drifting off in boredom, the Earthling paid for it by nearly tripping and falling flat on her face, the enhanced gravity she was experiencing more than enough to firmly slam her entire body down if it wasn't for active resistance. Kara couldn't exactly help it, though, since insofar this was just a trek through the woods. A long one. Flight or a vehicle would make trips like this a lot more bearable, though such avenues were not a readily available commodity to the fledgling warrior. "This sucks." She grumbled, almost hoping that she'd randomly stumble across some super powerful warrior or something like she'd been doing just to break up the monotony. That wasn't likely, though. Nobody came to the middle of a forest to train! They either went to the Gizard Wastes or Yunzabit... meaning Kara was stuck with boredom. the middle of a forest to train! They either went to the Gizard Wastes or Yunzabit... meaning Kara was stuck with boredom.
Kara took a moment to register that someone had materialized in front of her, the human halting in her tracks to stare in surprise at the hybrid. "...Hi?" She said uncertainly, taking a moment to assess the other woman. The tail and horns were the least of her concern, Kara's main focus being on her... wardrobe, seemingly in the middle of a forest. "Did I, uh, interrupt anything you were doing?" Kara asked, coughing into her fist to hide a small, pink blush on her cheeks. "I'm sorry if I did - I know that people come out here sometimes for privacy? I'm just trying to pass through them on my way to West City." Kara sighed, hand rubbing her neck. "And also training, I guess." She pointed to the belt at her waist - the device sticking out among the Earthling's drab gi choice. "...ANYWAY! I'll just be on my way then, don't mind me."

For those few seconds before she had disappeared off the trail again, Laverna had looked over the blushing Earthling. Save for the mighty soul confined within such drab clothes, there wasn't too much that was able to stick out about the woman. The gi was meant to signify her as a martial artist, the hybrid thought, though the belt she had pointed to seemed altogether out of place among something so traditional.
"What's the hurry?" The be tailed Ogre's voice trailed after her as she made her way through the brush with her supper. "It'll be night soon, and cold. Besides, I could use a training partner, myself." despite her awkward delivery, she was entirely honest. It would be dark and cold in just an hour or so, something she guessed an ill prepared Earthling might find more troublesome, and she was growing bored with lifting stones and trees all by her lonesome.
A sparring partner would do her some good, she thought to herself. A sparring partner, and perhaps a dinner guest with whom to share some conversation.
