With a small nod Garruk acknowledged Jagaimo's words of surprise, his face still with a at ease smile as he was herded further inside. Once inside Garrk would look around the room, his eyes stopping on every little thing as he tried to figure out the life style these Saiyans had. It was quite a contrast to his nan's room but she had been military for quite a long time, her room so spartan that it always felt empty to him.
It was not hard to notice his friends apprehension, the poor girl hardly like her normally energetic self as she took the armor off. It was interesting to watch it all come off, the engineer in him fascinated by it all as he examined each piece at a distance. It made him a little put off that he had no part in its construction, the advanced suit entirely him teams and Kobocha's design. It would have been a interesting project for sure he mused but was quickly snapped out of his thoughts when Kabocha meet his eyes. Giving a nod in return Garruk hoped to make her know he was there if anything was to happen that he was there for her.
With a smile he just watched the family antics play out, the siblings were obviously quite close to each other and even Yami was paying close attention to their returning sister. It was interesting to watch for sure but he felt out of place with nothing to do, each member of the family of the family doing their own thing for the most part. The only one he did not see was the older sister who must have been preparing dinner, a chore which he could only imagine took a great amount of effort due to the Saiyan appetite. Figuring he might as well help out if only for some thing to do he headed to the kitchen, his eyes throwing one look at Kabocha to make sure she was alright before he left to help. However he did not make it far when Jagaimo caught him.
"Uhh there has been quite a bit of upheaval in the galaxy as of late" he responded, the small lord not quite sure how to explain to him. It was a quite a common question to ask now that he thought about it, more so when one saw a member of his race on what would be considered a backward world like earth. "In a summery? The trade fleet took over your home world and then lost it when members of your race figured out how to turn super Saiyan. In retaliation they took the Acrosian home world as part of their kingdom. There has been multiple other smaller events but those would be the big ones to mention for a galactic scale" he replied rather nonchalantly. His opinion of the whole thing was that the Acrosian's deserved their fall, his only negitive opinion on the whole thing is that it seemed the Saiyans replaced the Arcosian's as the galactic tyrants. The destruction of Namek and the near destruction of earth where things he felt best not brought up here.
"Oh just so you know my people had it coming" he said after thinking for a moment, a gentle smile still on his face. "Even before attacking the Vegeta they had it coming. As for why me and my group came here is more or less that the remaining world trade fleet is fighting over the scraps of whats left. I came here with house to avoid that and hopefully get a new start here. It was around that time I saved your munchkin I think" he said, the smile only growing wider as the last part. It was easy to tease her and after being the victim of Greisha for so long it was kinda nice to not be the target.

Jagaimo nodded at Garruk's explanation, his expression turning to a bit of mild amusement at the news that vegeta had been taken over. He chuckled a bit and pulled a cigarette from his pocket pack. He lit it with a quick flicking motion- obscuring the method he used to light it. and took a small drag when he looked to Garruk "To be honest I think Vegeta had it coming, like how you feel for your people. It's terrible that innocent people got caught in the mix, but quite a few of those people harmed in the occupation would assert that i'd send my children to certain doom for not being elite. Can't say I'm exactly heartbroken for them." He said, small wisps of smoke leaving his mouth naturally and avoiding blowing the smoke towards garruk- which would have been rude. "I like your idea though. Sometimes you need to say screw it to the system you knew and try to build a life you care about more- than the supremacy they try to jam down your throat" he looked to the kitchen and to Renkai who was running between spots in the kitchen to cook "Mizuna and I came here because the Saiyan Kingdom was full of power hungry bastards. Previously I was a war scientist. Forced to make warfare devices for some bastard who wished to take the throne." He said very quietly. So quietly that if Garruk wasn't paying attention, he could have easily missed it. Making it clear he avoided having the rest of the family hear about it. Jagaimo's eyes looked almost glossed over as he spoke, looking down and to the side "I hated it. I really did. Met Mizuna since she was his Pilot. We fled a few years after. If I could undo what I made and did, I'd do it in a heartbeat. But i'm sure everyone says that." he snapped to attention with a bitter laugh and sighed "sorry 'bout talking your ear off. Your goals just felt a bit familiar." He said, shrugging "But I have to say i'm incredibly thankful for you keeping my daughter safe. She's a bit headstrong like my eldest." He chuckled a bit and ran a hand along his neck. "Hope your goal works out for you young man, I'll be in my office when you want to have that chat about upgrades" He offered, and turned to head to his office
Renkai ran through the kitchen to make sure she wasn't burnin' anything. When she noticed Garruk was close to the kitchen, she called out to him "Hey, Do you have a favorite food there? Haven't served many arcosian's in my life- honestly don't know what you guys eat- i'm not a nerd like Kabocha" she joked saying it loud enough for Kabocha to hear to tease her.
Kabocha Huffed at her sister and called back to her sister "I'm not a Neeeerd! You're the nerd, nerd!" she said pettily. She chuckled a bit and took the time to relax with her family- and she quickly settled back into old routes. She'd be taunted mildly by her sister Radisa, and her brother Yamu would sometimes headlock her and give her a noogie. Though she laughed with it all with them and settled into the couch, sometimes looking back to her friend Garruk. She hoped he'd be comfortable hangin' out here. She did remember though why she came here. and she knew she'd have her chance when Garruk and her father talked. As much as she was a bit absentminded, she knew what they were gonna talk about wasn't just the armor. Slowly confirming what she was fearing but... She felt at least safe with her siblings for now. And she wanted an explanation. Now more than ever.

Garruk could only nod as the older man rambled on, his eyes staring off into space as he just listened. It was a habit he had when he was deep in thought and would often cause him trouble as it looked like he was not listening, when in fact they had his full attention and he was simply going though it all in his head. He could already tell the man hated fighting and everything that came with it, a rare occurrence among the saiyans as even the weaker Saiyans loved to fight. Even their scientists tended to enjoy a good brawl here or there, only a rare few were totally against violence all together. Judging form the strength of the man in front of him he was sure that he was one of such but her wondered about their children. Where the two sisters like the father or did the peaceful life they lived never introduce them to fighting? He knew Potana enjoyed combat for sure, the wild child of the family going down the wrong path without guidance. He now wonder if perhaps he should have dragged her into meeting Kabocha, it was not like she could have stopped him but there was no use worrying about things he could not change.
Still staying silent Garruk could only not at the man's confession about being a war scientist, a job that would normally have some prestige among the Saiyans even with as weak as he was. He felt like he liked the man a little better but after what he did to Kabocha could not quite find it in him to forgive him, the thought of putting a bio weapon in one of his own children just to make them like yourself was to much. More so since the weapon could have potentially killed her kept that spark of anger going even though the man's confession. Watching man leave Garruk kept a hard stare until the older sibling caught his attention, the poor thing wondering just what he liked to eat. "Ill be honest that I have not had a lot of earth's food quite yet so ill just try what you suggest is good. Really the only thing I have tried are the fruit limes and a baked potato?" he replied, his eyes only lingering on the direction of the father for a moment before turning to her.
"If you don't mind I will join you in making the food if it would not be a bother. It would be a good experience for me to learn how to cook earth cuisine I think." he requested as he turned to her, his thoughts on perhaps surprising Freist with a dinner some time made up of food form earth. He was sure he had already tried many of the foods earth had to offer but it would still be nice to surprise him, more so since Garruk did not know how to cook. His position as the head of the house making to chiefs often made his food for him. [Wait did I ever invite Kabocha eat with me instead of the rations on the ship?] he asked himself, a small bit of guilt flashing though his mind as he made a note to ask to join him and Friest next time.
Checking one last time on Kabocha before he headed into the kitchen to help with the dinner, his mind wondering if she was gonna be alright. At the very least being around her siblings would be good for her, since depending on how the fight that was sure to come it might be the last time she talked to her parents. He really hoped that was not the case and she could at least forgive them, if not fully trust them again. He was not good at things like this and wanted nothing more then to run away, or perhaps fly off the handles at the father for doing that to his daughter. However Kabocha was one of his few friends and he would be here when she needed him, she deserved that at the very least form him.

Renkai blinked a bit when Garruk offered her his help. She made a curious expression while cocking her head to the side. She kept his eyes on him as if she was reading him. She then shrugged and nodded "Alrighty then, Though Gotta admit there's not a whole lot of lime or potatoes in this- so ya might feel a little lost...!" she joked, and tossed an apple to him "If ya wanna start helpin' out, I'd suggest peelin' a few of these- rest are in the cabinet over there" she pointed one hand to the cabinet while chopping at a root vegetable. She added "There's a lot of fruits in there so be careful not to bruise them. Apples are also pretty varied, you're lookin' for Red apples specifically" She gave succinct and careful orders for Garruk, turning back to the chopping board and going at another vegetable. after a little bit of time she breaks the possible silence with "Noticed Kabo's doin' a lot better. She looks a lot more confident" She admits out of the blue, quiet enough so her voice didn't travel too far. She scooped up Orange and soft yellow Root vegetables that were diced finely into cubes into a small pan and filled it with water before setting it on a burner.
Yamu looked to Kabocha and looked about his sister. His expression shifting to amusement, to concern, to deliberation. Though he shook his head and focused back on the TV. His expression's didn't hide away from his mother though. Mizuna looked to Yamu and his shifting expressions, and looked to the side, away from the tournament currently going on. Yamu noticing this gave his mother a gentle elbow and looked her in the eyes. A silent conversation between the two as they made subtle and shifting expressions to each other, until Yamu finally shrugged his shoulders and gave up the conversation. Mizuna didn't look relieved, and almost looked like someone had punched her in the solar plexus. Winded and guilty. She just looked to the TV, trying to at least enjoy the rest of the program
Kabocha meanwhile was chatting with her sister Radisa on what her favorite yet eclectic trading card game. There was a moment where Kabocha's excitement grew intense and she started talking quickly and without pause. Radisa paused and gulped as She, Yamu, and Mizuna watched Kabocha with baited breath. The TV being ignored yet again. Eventually Kabocha paused, realizing she was being stared at and she rubbed the back of her neck, chuckling out a sheepish "Sorry- got a bit too excited" and relaxed on the couch. Though it didn't erase the surprise of her family, who were a bit surprised she could get this rowdy. Though Yamu's smile showed he appreciated it, and Radisa happily jumped back into talking about how hot one of the Card's art was.
Renkai reached into the drawer and grabbed a laddle and looked to Garruk, offering it to him once he was done with the apples "My brother and I aren't dumb- we know Gourd's a bit weak comparatively to us. 'ts why I was against her leaving home at first. But seeing her this energetic...? it's really nice to see her like she was when Potana was around, I know it probably wasn't just you- but thanks Plum" She says, giving a mildly teasing nickname to Garruk, though there was some genuine sincerity to her nickname.

Garruk inwardly sighed at the thought of not having any baked potato's, the strange food doing wonders for his palate when the Nameks had made it for him and Friest. Still he could not expect that to be the only food on the planet but one could hope at the very least, on the other side of the coin Garruk knew most of the food he had enjoyed in space was likely to become scare very soon. The stores of food they had brought with him were all but gone, most of the people of Brumal city now adopting the earth food as the main part of their diet. Only the more wealthy people in the city still ate the food form home, the prices increasing every day as the food became closer to gone forever.
Turning his focus back to the task of finding some of the apples she had asked for, his eyes looking over the fruit as she pointed it out to him. Taking care Garruk gently lifted each of them into the air with his mind, his new telekinetic powers coming in handy as he lined each fruit up above the cutting table. With the fruit steady Garruk slowly started to peal each one with his energy, the Arcosian still unsure just how much he needed to cut of form each apple as of yet. He knew it was perhaps a little showy to do it this way but he was sure if he tired to use a real knife to peal them that he would end up making a mess, either breaking the knife or carving out chunks of the apple. With as much training as he had been doing lately with the new found power it took him no time at all, the small Acrosian pealing every red apple he could find in just a few minutes. "Your welcome and your probably gonna see a lot more of this side of her in the future Renkai. She...." he said before trailing off for a moment, his mind trying to find just the right words to use without revealing much. "...is getting stronger and I am not sure if you could tell that she is not the weakest person in the house anymore. Ahh I have finished with the apples! What else can I help with?" he replied to the sister, the sudden change in topic a effort on his part to stir the topic elsewhere. It was not that he was not use to duplicity but he did not like the idea of lying to Kabocha's siblings, her brothers and sisters where most likely unaware of what was wrong with Kabocha.
Still helping in the kitchen Garruk could only listen in to what was happening in the living room, the small alien's ears metaphorically twitching as he tried to listen in to the swirl of chatter. With a scowl Garruk could catch very little of what was happening in the living room, the room filled with so many different noises that it was hard to pick out Kabocha's voice. Rather then try to do the hopeless any longer Garruk reached out, his senses trying to find Kabocha before he established a link with her. [Hey Kabochan! How is it in there with the family? Everything going alright or do I need to come throw the boar again so to speak? Oh yeah I am speaking with telepathy so don't panic alright?] he messaged, the Arcosian suddenly forming a evil grin for just a single moment before sending another message. [You are aware I can do that right? Or did you not know I could and that is the reason I got so many strange thoughts form you?] he bluffed, his lips trembling in mirth as he pictured in his head Kabocha's face right now. While it was true he could read her mind it was not all that hard to force him out, the connection for the most part needing both of them willing to keep the connection but knowing Kabocha it would only be a moment before she had another munchkin overload.
[By the way I only got this ability recently and I can only listen in on what you think for as long as your willing. That said it is your thoughts so do be careful] he said finally letting her rest easy. He enjoyed teasing her but for now it was best to keep it to just enough to let her relax and not have a panic attack. They still had a long day ahead of them both, one that could end in more then a few tears of his dear friend.

Renkai looked back to Garruk, and was a bit perplexed with how quickly he went compared to most people. "O-oh" She simply said. She moved the apples from the cutting board near the oven. She looked around the area, and shouted out to the kitchen "Yamu! Where'd you put the Sauce pan?!"
Yamu, havin' been focusing on his sister that had left for quite a while found it quite rude when his sister interrupted his thought. So he just simply said "Stuff your head in the oven and see!" He complained, returning back to thought on just why kabocha seemed to be easing away from the old threshold of heart problems they were used to. In fact, the way Kabocha got excited there- it really reminded him of a time where that wasn't all too uncommon for his youngest sister. But... when? It was a bit hard to remember his weak baby years.
Mizuna looked to her son, a sense of unease and worry knotting up her stomach. Spaceship flight without gravity regulation was easier than this...! She got up silently, trying to avoid suspicion as she made her way towards Jagaimo's study.
Renkai looked into the living room when Mizuna vanished and flipped off her brother. "Stuff your head in the oven" she muttered to herself, as though she were actually considering the idea. She looked to Garruk and nodded "Can you go ahead and stir the vegetables I have in the pan? I gotta 'stuff my head in the oven'." She joked, though she wasn't sure the seemingly still stiff arcosian friend would be as perceptive, lamenting that it might take a second for him to be used to the family she and kabocha had. She moved over to another oven, which looked- well... It looked to be for Saiyan Feasts. She looked up and noticed the plates she was going to need in the cupboard above her. She sighed and took a step back, making a big step and wedged her foot into a hand compartment under the oven's door. She pulled and it opened like a drawer, showing many sauce pans- recently cleaned it seemed! while she was standing on the compartment, she maneuvered her foot under one sauce pan and kicked it up, moving her head a little so it landed nicely on her shoulder instead of her skull. Her hands grasping 7 plates, pulling back she moved over to garruk who was hopefully stirring by this point and spoke up "I'm gonna set the table real quick. You mind putting the apples you peeled into the pan? you cut it into 8 slices, and cutting the hard core from each slice. You put them in the pan and set the pan to a medium heat with the dial. You're gonna wanna focus on making sure they don't stick- adding water makes it a bit easier, though I usually water with cinnamon in it." She moved out to the dining room quickly with plates in tow "You suck Yamu! Why do you keep moving them?!" She called after her brother
When Kabocha linked up with Garruk, she innately knew something was up. She spoke quickly [ohgodhecanhearme/Oh god you can hear my brain! I'm sorry I thought the top of your skull made you look like a cat! Cats are nice!/panic, PANIC.] All three phrases popped up at the same time, though the final one was quiet- almost suppressed. Almost like listening to Kabocha in stereo speaker. Might not be the best experience- Though his explanation immediately returned a [.../You're such a jerk!! Oh- Crap you could- Dang it! I'm sorry you're not a jerk i'm just-/...] She took a breath of relief when she realized she didn't have to think of inane stuff intentionally so he didn't hear the dumb stuff she'd scream at herself, though she flopped onto the floor as she felt a bit overstimulated with the burst of panic and subsequent relaxation. [I-I'm doin' alright. I've kinda been on edge internally. I-I'll be honest, I also came here for another reason than just introducing you to my family... It's about... the growth.] She started, thankful her face was covered by the carpet. Not like her brother and sister didn't notice though.

Still in the mindset to help Garruk quickly did as he was told, his small hands making small gestures in the air as he moved everything about with his mind slowly. In some sense he was glad to use them in such a mundane setting, the need to be gentle with his power was almost another way for him to train as he slowly stirred the vegetables. It was at this point Keeping a slow pace with the wooden spoon Garruk listened to the family, the teasing and bickering was of a healthy sort. It reminded him of his nanny but not so much of his own biological family, his siblings and father taking a much more stiff approach to everything. The family image being important and all that.
Turning to the apples he slowly started cut each one slowly the same way as before but slower this time, the apples now clearly suspended in the air as one of Garruks hands was pointed at the very same floating apple and with the other slowly stirring the pot. For anyone watching closely they would see both actions slow down every time he mentally spoke to Kabocha, his mind trying to multitask a multitude of delicate tasks. These tasks ground to halt however when Garruk was assulted by all three voices, the small alien wincing for a moment before regaining control enough to keep working.[Nah its alright I can be a bit mean some times and also what is a cat?] he mentally sent her trying to reassure her that their was no hard feelings on his end, a fact that probably even easier to believe as a mental chuckle filled her mind form him. [Also where do you keep the ummm cinnamon?] he asked as he filled a pan with water, his eyes shifting form one cupboard to another trying to find the spice the sister had told him about. If Renkai was to turn around she would see a scene similar to that of one of the movies about magic, the food and pans cooking with some unknown force behind them.
Garruk's response to her telling him that she wanted to ask about the growth was meet with mental silence, only the connection remained as a clear way to show he was still there. he sent finally after a long moment before pausing again his mind spinning in small circles as he wondered just what he should say at a moment like this. he finally finished, his thoughts of concern filling the connection. Turning back to the task at hand Garruk silently prayed that everything would work out, that even if their was a fight that she would at least be forgive her parents if not forget.

Kabocha thought for a moment, trying to find a way to confer the image of a cat to Garruk. Though- her mind was- elsewhere now. She was able to communicate easily enough [The Cinnamon's in the upper cabinet, it should be the bottle with the orange powder in it, if it smells sweet- you've got the right one, but if it smells spicy that's seasoning salt] She tried to think of a manner of which she could bring up how she felt about the situation. The mix of anxiety, fear, and pain that was coursing through her as her worries seemed to be confirmed, and deconfirmed at every corner. It was the first time she felt her heart being squeezed that really wasn't like the growth squeezing it. She was bordering on heartbreak. The silence grew between the mental connection. She allowed simply a [I-] before she had to stop as she could feel her throat ball up and her eyes heat up. She swallowed, HARD and closed her eyes, taking a second to breathe, sitting up from the carpet. The mental connection wavering as she debated cutting it off.
Radisa noticed her sister's sudden shift in demeanor and paused her rambling. She gave a very concerned expression and she even scooted closer, hugging her sister out of nowhere. Hoping to ease whatever seems to be eating at her. This was new to her, and thankfully Kabocha very visibly relaxed, although her stiff posture didn't change much, her eyelids relaxed, and her jaw relaxed as when she'd swallowed hard, her jaw had locked hard. Kabocha in response having a second to breathe attempted to send the mental image of a cat to garruk, wondering if he would get it. The Mental connection sending signals of mild relief to show she wasn't losing it.
Renkai looked to the saucepan as she turned towards Garruk, not immediately noticing the supernatural heckery that he was doing- which was probably for the best, though that might not be a easy thing for her to miss in the future. "Well i've got the pan, no thanks to the meathead- Once the apples go really soft the vegetable's probably will be too. You can drain the water and I'll add the meat. I'll use the resulting beef broth to make a nice sauce so we can enjoy a weird mash of veggies, meats, and fruits. Mom taught me how to do this meal- it's supposed to give you almost everything you need. The apples and meats give sweet and savory, the vegetables and the broth sauce a salty savory taste to it" She explained the dish to garruk, though she was a bit focused on cooking meat, and grabbing other ingredients for the gravy that she wasn't too focused on him retaining what she was saying. Instead, having her explanation serve to fill the silence.
Yamu looked to his sister, saw her reactions and his mind started to click certain things together. He got up from the couch, and made his way quietly to his father's study. There was an itch to figure out something that had been on his mind for ages. Potana, Kabocha, and his mother and father. A riddle he couldn't understand, and a problem he could clearly see. Disappearing from the livingroom, Kabocha only noted his obvious absence as- while she still had her eyes shut, she could sense his energy moving away.

Garruk moved forward slowly as his hands came up to start working on some of the fruits, his mental powers slowly moving the items into his reach as he tried to focus on Kabocha. He was worried about the silence a bit, his mind always going to the worst case situation as he struggled to keep the connection. For a moment he thought she was gonna cut it when it started to clear, the pain and suffering still being sent across the connection. Unsure what to do Garruk just sat blankly for a moment his hands completely still as he tried to figure out what to say, the little alien uncertain what to do as he had never comforted someone before. Unable to do much he left the connection empty other then a soft hum to signal he was there, the hum mixed with the concern he felt for Kobacha. Slowly his hands started to move again as he looked towards the living room worried, his eyes looking at a place in the wall where Kabocha was just behind.
["Wait I look like whiskers?"] he finally said after she calmed down enough to show him, the creature she showed him looked amazingly like Whiskers. Whisker's image appeared in her mind but form his point of view, a pair of eyes looking up at the cute furball rather then down. With that comment he finally realized that he was being talked to by Renkai, the woman telling him the plan for tonight's dinner which he had unfortunately had drowned out. Tilting his head he just smiled a weak smile at the girl and nodded his head hoping she did not think he was ignoring her. Still listening to Kabocha's mind just in case Garruk followed the few instructions he had manged to remember, his tail swishing back and forth as he tired to keep his mind on his task. Reaching up he took out the cinnamon and added it to the applies after moment, his mind momentarily forgetting to do so with the image of a cat appearing in his mind.
Still thinking about what to say Garruk's mind started to let thoughts slip out, the assorted images were quite random as he went over what to say or do to cheer her up. Chocolate cakes, thoughts of violence ,worry and even a moment where he thought about showing her a picture of when they tried to get him into a dress the wedding. So caught up in his thoughts he did not notice Yami leave the room as he mindlessly watched the apples slowly get softer.

Kabocha, feeling a little better with her sister's help- Her thoughts became much more concise [Oh- Yeah A little bit...! The little points on your head kinda look like cat ears, wait- you know Whisker? I know whisker too! He's super sweet. Where'd you meet him???] She asked, starting to feel like she could do this. Radisa's hug gave her the feeling that even if her parents were culpable, her sister still loved and cared for her. And Garruk supporting her gave her the drive to go through with the questions, knowing he'd ask if she didn't
When the apples had become soft enough to cook with the meat, Renkai took over for Garruk for a moment, noticing he wasn't drainin' the water. She noted his more absentminded expressions and decided to give him a break- given everything, he might not be as interested in the cooking. Though it was a nice moment for some form of bonding with her sister's friend. "If you want, you can take a second- A lot of cookin' is a whole lot of waiting- it should be done soon so if you wanna sit at the table people should be gathering soon" She smiled to him and went ahead and drained the water when it was ready and added the meat. It didn't take very long for the meat to start sizzling and letting out the lovely scent of cooking meat.
Kabocha added to the connection something that she'd been meaning to ask of him [I know this might be a bit of a heavy topic- if your busy in there I get it if ya don't want to answer. I wanted to know what your family was like- before... you know] she asks, a bit hesitant to bring up memories that might make him a bit more melancholic.
