Never has the term monkey suit ever suited better for the bartender fit in black and red's situation as he began to make his flight across the countryside toward North City, intent on keeping a date he had set with a special someone he hadn't seen for quite sometime. Of course, the fledgling Super Saiyan was alluding to his lack of being able to see his only Arcosian friend Aurora Arctos. Which was, understandable though- the last time that he had laid his eyes on her she was in the middle of a near fatal cardiac arrest. Thankfully, he was reassured shortly after that she of the Arctos clan was doing just fine, and making a steady recovery within a hospital located not too far from where he had been staying within an exhaustion induced coma. Of course, his first thought was to get on after her, make sure that everything was really alright (physically she may be in tip top shape, as expected of someone like her, but mentally could definitely be something of an entirely different matter). However, Dion's schedule shortly after his discharge from Carro's medical bay immediately began to fill to the literal brim as soon as he was out in the world once more, and he hadn't gotten a chance to meet up with her since then.
Until he had gotten two texts that finally solidified the need to see Aurora once again. One, was from surprisingly enough, Carro Hofferson himself- it was in the middle of work, and he had just gotten off break when he felt his phone in his pocket receive a ping. It was a very cryptic message about him meeting an old friend attached with the address to a five star restaurant somewhere within the center of North City. At the moment, tiredness and focus spent on several other work related things presently kept him from putting two and two together immediately, and so all he did was place the address elsewhere within his phone for safekeeping as he returned to work.
The second text suddenly brought some context to the first text, and then immediately allowed for him to put all the puzzle pieces together. The second text had come on the same day after work, once he had finished up closing up shop and all that. Dion had been just about ready to shoot off into the sky toward home when all the sudden his phone pinged him once again. Taking it out and looking at it intently, his heart nearly stopped when he realized it was Aurora's number that flashed across the screen, with her asking whether or not he was up for some dinner.
Immediately shooting her a reply, the quick witted bartender sent her a flirty response- stating in lame man's terms without all the added fluff that he was ready to go out that very same night. After a couple back and forth messages, it was decided that indeed they would go to the restaurant Carro suggested an hour or two later that very same evening.
Once the interaction was over, just like that, the bartender hurried on home, but not before stopping by a men's suit store to grab himself a sleek looking black suit and red dress shirt to wear underneath, all coupled with a black tie holding the look all together (he had more than enough money to purchase it). Afterward, he bee lined it for his apartment- making sure to do his hair and gel it all nice and spikey like, as well as iron out the newly purchased suit, under-dress-shirt, and tie to ensure no folds were shown. Then, after getting dressed in aforementioned ironed out clothes, Dion started to make his way back into North City, touching down on the sidewalk just before the entrance.
It was there that he decided upon waiting for Aurora- since it'd be rude for him to enter without her, and he still wasn't sure if he could actually just walk in without a reservation. Two solutions popped into his mind, either use his weight as the CEO of Diono's to get them some seats, or use instead the weight of his friend Carro to help secure them a table.
All of which could be done and mused upon while he stood in wait, by the entrance, for his date.

Aurora wasn't entirely sure what she was doing, as she made her way through the evening sky of North City. This was hardly the most efficient use of her time, after all. There was so much she could be doing. Training, learning to calm herself down through the arts, researching potential allies and enemies. But no, instead she was merely... fraternising. Wasting her time away by going out on... on what was perhaps, maybe, possibly a date. Granted, it was... with a person she had become rather... well, rather fond of in the past months, but that didn't change anything that logically she knew this was not what she should be doing. Which is why it was somewhat infuriating when she looked down at herself, clad in the dress she had had Zhalla help her pick out when they went shopping shortly earlier. She felt somewhat... stuffy, in the thick overcoat she had put on, but according to her red haired Saiyan friend, it was required for as long as she stood outside of the restaurant. Thus, Aurora found herself sailing through the sky and following the mental map she had made as she flew just above the towering buildings of the inner city of North City. It seemed that at this time of night the city was rather uncomfortably busy, people milling about beneath her in far too high a number for Aurora to look forward to landing. Yet she knew she had to, as she spotted the restaurant she had been told about, and in front of it... him. Dion was looking... rather sharp, in a black and red suit that almost matched her own white and blue dress. He had evidently put effort into his appearance, and that knowledge combined with her own approval of how he looked was enough for the Arcosian to swallow nervously. Landing a little further away, Aurora makes sure her dress wasn't getting scuffed or dirty thanks to the streets by using her magic to keep it floating just above the dirty pavement. Ignoring the looks that she was getting from those around her, and the feeling of uncomfortable warmth the clothes were giving her, Aurora takes a deep breath and walks forwards. She was... admittedly still very unused to the city, but did her best to stay unnoticed in order to surprise the Saiyan. Going as far as to suppress her own power, just in case he had gained some ki sensing since she last saw him. Eventually, she got close enough to be within earshot. " Dion. You look... rather nice." She starts, pausing a little as her mind attempts to find a proper phrase to use to convey her feelings. It was hardly appropriate for her to be so forward, if this was back on Arcose, but she understood that most earthlings and Saiyans weren't exactly used to discerning the complex and traditional social cues of her people. Thus she found herself behaving rather... crassly. She really hoped she wouldn't end up going too far, or saying too much. That would be beyond mortifying. Especially when it was someone she... admittedly cared about. Aurora really wasn't sure what she would do if that did come to pass. " I hope I didn't make you wait too long. The journey from the arctic to here isn't unmanageable, but..." She trails off. Of course, Aurora had planned on arriving earlier, but some research had introduced her to the concept of being 'fashionably late', and she had decided to try it. It seemed this night had only just started, and it was already full of firsts.

If you had told Dion beforehand that Aurora would have decked out herself entirely for something that the bartender considered a simple meet-up, he might've asked whether or not you've had one too many drinks to have that evening. However, it seemed that such a prediction would have actually rung true, as when Dion had looked back toward the street in front of him as he was leaning on the wall of the restaurant his presidential pal had suggested for the two to head to, his gaze was met with the most incredible sight. It was Aurora Arctos- in one of the most jaw-dropping dresses he had ever seen. The dress itself fitted Aurora to a tee- truly a sight to behold. With everything from the coat upon her back to the boots adorning her normally bare feet perfectly matching the Arcosian personality wise and physicality wise. It was a brilliant white mainly all over, with intricate and beauteous looking designs adorning the, now on closer inspection as she approached, silver coat on top of her shoulders. Blue, ice-like crystals sewn right into the fabric of the main part of the dress underneath, the lighter blue colored material at the ends of her dress glimmering gracefully within the moonlight shone from up above.
It was enough to leave the normally quippy Saiyan speechless- his jaw slightly held ajar and his gaze uncharacteristically wide and admiring as Aurora finally finished her approach, closing the distance while also taking the time to appreciate the effort Dion had also put in his appearance (although, in his own humble opinion, it paled in comparison to the get-up Aurora had shown up in, hell, he felt a bit embarrassed that he hadn't tried as hard as she probably, presumably, did in terms of appearance). Managing to snap himself out of it, shaking his head in a hurry, his gaze focused a bit more finally- a more sleepy eyed yet affectionate look on his face as he managed to say, "Pardon my saying, but, you're looking quite dazzling this evening Aurora- I do hope I'm not being too forward? I know your race is a bit more, reserved, in nature, so do let me know if I ever am a bit, much."
Offering an arm to her to loop around, and once Aurora took it, Dion would then guide the two up toward the entrance, saying before they entered in a reassuring tone with an added wink, "No, no, it was quite worth the wait with how you've came, I don't mind at all. I hope I wasn't too bad with my timing, seeing as the day you ask whether or not I'd be down to meet one of these days I spring on you all of this, eheheh."
As they entered, someone that he assumed was the host (it was an educated assumption, of course, he himself was the CEO of Diono's afterall) came up to the duo and greeted them, inquiring as to whether or not they had a pre-established reservation. Quickly taking his phone out, Dion held up to the host a reservation having been made by his absent yet all the more helpful wingman Carro, and so the bartender expected the two to be seated quickly afterward.
Instead, the host began to guide the two upstairs- with them now being seated on the third floor, with a tableside view of the city and its bustling nightlife out the window next to the table they were seated in.
'Carro, you slick son of a gun,' was all Dion thought as he took his seat across from where Aurora would be seating, thanking the host as they said their waiter would be there shortly.
Now, came the most exciting part of the evening- actually speaking to Aurora! After taking a sip of the complimentary wine left by the host ("Not bad, but I bet I could brew better"), Dion looked across at his Arcosian friend, saying, "So, Aurora, if I may ask- where did you end up getting the dress? I don't doubt the fact that you're able to pay for it, but part of me wonders if you had a little help, maybe, in choosing it...?"
It was always good to start with the simpler things first, as then it usually snowballed into the main topic nicely anyways. At least, that's how Dion took it.

"If you keep looking at me like that, I am going to get embarrassed." Aurora states to Dion clearly, unable to meet his eyes as she looks off to the side. She wasn't sure why she even felt so... so anxious, or nervous, or whatever the word was. It wasn't an emotion Aurora was supposed to feel, but as the (admittedly good looking) Saiyan looked at her with such an expression on his face, she couldn't help but feel... it. Clearing her throat with little to no effect, she eventually failed to keep her gaze away from him, admiring the red and black suit that the Saiyan had picked. It.. well, in her opinion it went well with the Saiyan's features, even his rather ridiculous hair. "You look... good." She manages to get out past a rather curious lump in her throat that she hadn't felt since she had first arrived on the planet. It was... confusing at best, and downright baffling at worst as Aurora frowned at the feeling. She had believed herself to have more control over her body than this. What was wrong with her? She was behaving like an emotional wreck. Talk about embarrassing.
She would take his arm, even as Dion's words finally managed to pierce through her weakened barriers for a moment, producing a... light dusting of red upon the Arcosian's cheeks. Although she didn't notice this, as it was merely a curiosity and a heated face to her. "I..." She starts, at a loss for words as she is once again forced to both clear her throat and resist the temptation to simply transform into a less... vulnerable form. The only thing stopping her, in fact, were the facts that it would cause a ruckus and that it would rip the dress she had half bought and half made. She could feel the starers as he spoke, hear the silent mutterings at the sight of an Arcosian taking the arm of another, bringing a frown to her face as she considers apologising to Dion. "I..." She starts again. "N-no. Thank you. I understand that the other races tend to be far more overt in their actions, and I will try to... ensure that I remember that." She nods, half to herself as the pair of them continued to walk. She had done some research upon the restaurant while she had free time, and it was... acceptable. High praise for an earthling place, for sure.
She had to admit surprise at Dion's preparedness, once the server came over to check if they were reserved. While she liked the Saiyan, she had fully expected to need to pull out the reservations she had made in advance. It was... a nice surprise, and somewhat of a humbling one. ...She would also need to ensure that she filed for a refund at a later point in the week. Or perhaps while he went to the bathroom. The pair of them were then lead up to one of the higher levels of the restaurant, which oversaw the bustling nightlife and the glowing lights of the city. Aurora had to admit that it... was pretty, despite her personal distaste for seeing such mass amounts of people. Said distaste was either not felt by the staff here, or they were rather impeccably trained as the pair of them were given a menu without even the slightest hint of hesitation the moment the waiter appeared. She too would sip at the wine, finding it... manageable. If paired with something complimentary, it could be nice, although she had little doubt as to the bartender's claim of being able to make better.
"Yes." She starts at the question, not finding any issue with it. "Due to my own lack of experience in the area, I enlisted Zhalla's aid in picking. Although... I did make some changes with my magic." A wave of her hand temporarily shows a deeper blue, and no floral designs upon a coat she happily shrugs off when offered. Letting out a sigh of relief at being less warm, she looks back to him, steeping her fingers. "And what about you? Not that I haven't seen you in official clothing like that before, however this looks... sharper."

Perhaps it was something in the air that night, or maybe just one too many hits on the old noggin, but, something was just so delectably entrancing about his Arcosian friend as she looked flusteredly to the side, his gaze only further narrowing in interest as he dared to lean in even closer- bending himself down a bit to meet her face as Aurora herself finally managed to begin to pull herself back toward Dion, with the bartender taking a moment to shoot her a small wink as he asked in that flirty tone he loved to use, "What, is there something on my face, maybe~? I don't mean to get you all out of sorts, but you know I only speak the truth, and give credit where credit is sorely due- and it's without a doubt that no amount of credit given by me would do justice to how easy on the eye you happen to be tonight." And once she had managed to fully return his sleepy eyed gaze, as well as even manage to compliment him on his own appearance as well, a low, rumble of a chuckle resonated from deep within his throat, replying in a matter-of-fact tone as they continued forward, "It pales in comparison to how you've done yourself, Aurora. I feel embarrassed that I didn't try hard enough for you. You most definitely do deserve it."
As they had been walking to their seats, Dion was quick to take note of the Frost Demon's reddened expression on her face- his absentminded yet happy expression shifting again to that of his sleepy eyed face as he looked down at her on his arm once again, saying in that same deliciously low, gravelly tone, "That's music to my ears~ I'm surprised, honestly, that you're willing to put up with me. Even counting other races, I myself am quite, how did you put it? Overt? In my mannerisms of affection, so again, do be sure to let me know when enoughs enough, yes~?"
While on the surface he seemed slick, smooth, and suave, Dion underneath was incredibly surprised that he was actually pulling off the gentlemanly attitude with relative success. Perhaps he wasn't in as much of a frenzy as Aurora, but, he would be downright lying if he wasn't having slight trouble dealing with the same feelings plaguing the lizard lady on his arm. His heart skipping a beat in adoration with every flustered action she displayed, and Dion finding himself infatuated with the adorably out of sorts Aurora before him. The difference being, however, was that Dion was always a much more sociable person, and his past and present experiences as a bartender only helped to train him in the art of controlling his emotions. An unfair advantage? Maybe. Was he going to take advantage of such an asset? Absolutely.
Presently, Dion now took another deep swig of his glass of wine as he hung on the edge of his seat, soaking in everything Aurora had to say in response to his small inquiry. It seems that his small icebreaker (pun, fully, intended) worked pretty decently well, and as the Arcosian began to speak, the bartender allowed for his head to lean and rest on his right hands palm, elbow propped up against the table underneath them as he stared near dreamily in Aurora's direction- still all the more attentive, yet all the more aware of the reaction he may get for doing so.
Maybe he did want to incite another flustered reaction. She was so cute when she was flustered.
Widening his eyes at the change of the coat before him, once Aurora was done with her bit, Dion eyed her up and down once more, saying in a more, sultry, version of his normally quippy tone, "Yknow, if you wanted the coat off, I wouldn't have minded at all taking it for you. But, anyways, that's real neat to hear- Zhalla seems to be helping you out a bunch these days, hm? I know about the little trip to Arcose you plan on taking with her, and it pains me to say that I may be unable to come along. I've got a lot of loose ends to tie up here on Earth- what with work, Carro, and having to meet literal God, I'm honestly wondering if remaining in my comatose state was preferable. Then again..."
With another wink, he continued, quipping, "...that would mean I'd have to wait even longer to see you again, and that'd be quite the heavy loss, wouldn't it~?"
Finally deciding to ease up on the gas with that last remark, Dion leaned backward in his chair, arms now crossing as he spoke in a bit of a less provocative voice, "Oh, this little get up here-? Like I said, I feel embarrassed- I didn't at all put nearly as much effort as I now think I should of. I stopped by a men's clothing store on my way back home from work, took about half an hour or so looking for something that I thought was quaint, and voila."
"...I'd hope that it's, to your standard~?" Dion now purred, leaning forward on his elbows on his side of the table, hands now folded together, as he waited expectantly with that same amorous glance he had shown her just earlier.
Was it love? Maybe.
Was he willing to entertain the idea?
Most definitely.

So sorry dude ;-; When Aurora looked back towards Dion, she had to physically stop herself from leaning back again out of shock at finding him so close to her. Well, they were in arms, but when she had glanced away he certainly hadn't been staring her directly in the face. There was... just something about the whole situation that had her swallowing nervously, and that certainly wasn't helped by the wink the Saiyan gave her and the... odd tone of voice he used. "I-" Did she just stammer? What was going on? What was happening? "Mm." The Arcosian clears her throat, ruby red eyes steeling somewhat as she looks back into the Saiyans. "Thank you. And you needn't of put much effort in. Your general attire is often good enough." Not to mention that she would admittedly feel somewhat bad, if she had forced him into wearing clothes he didn't want to out of some societal pressure. A small smile would grace the usually stern woman's face as she nods at his words. "I... yes. This is my first time using such attire. It's hardly practical but... I'm glad you like it." She would eventually say, picking her words. Why was she struggling so much? This wasn't like her.
The short trip over to the table gave Aurora enough time to calm down and remember herself, and by the time the two sat down she had managed to regain the majority of her self control. Tucking her hands politely into her lap, the Arcosian straightens her back and does her best to emulate how she had been taught and seen others behave during something like this. "Perhaps so, Dion." She begins her reply, her voice even as she looks over the menu, only just then realising that when it came to earthling dishes she was woefully ignorant. "You certainly are louder than most, but..." A tilt of her head, and that slight smile again. "I would hardly call that a bad trait. Perhaps even charming. Especially coming from a man as handsome as you yourself are." Two could play at this game, and while Aurora knew she wasn't exactly as good at talking as the Saiyan was, she could hold her own through sheer ability to repress emotions. "On another note, I am afraid that when it comes to Earthling meals I don't know much. Are there any you may recommend for me? I trust your judgement on such matters."
She watched as he leaned froward whilst she spoke about where she attained her dress, alongside the question about the food. While her face didn't change whatsoever, she had to admit that behind the mask it was... a rather entrancing look, seeing him with a dreamy expression like that one on his face. It was certainly one she liked, Aurora decided. Herr red eyes met his once more, before she allowed the mask to crack ever so slightly, a bashful expression forming for just a split second. She wasn't exactly comfortable with doing so, but as much as Aurora would want to keep it up... well. it was hard to do so, and she didn't want him thinking she had suddenly... lost interest. Evidently that worked all too well, as the moment she finished talking he began to, making comments on her coat, then (surprisingly) upon her planned trip to her home planet alongside his multitude of appointments and recent conditions, something that brought her usual frown back to the Arcosian's face. This only further intensified when he then leapt from such a serious topic back to flirtatious attempts, which while effective didn't stop her from remembering the condition he had been in during the mountain battle.
"I... yes. I will keep it in mind, next time I have a coat." Aurora replies, swallowing and allowing her eyes to leave his own as she looks awkwardly off to the side. "Although it saddens me that you are unable to come, I understand all too well. Not to mention, if things go to plan... it should be a short visit. No sense in tempting death by remaining somewhere that is highly against me for longer than necessary." Aurora was well aware that there were forces out there can could kill her if they so wished it, even with Nashua gone and her own immense power. Such a thing was... well, it was infuriati- wait. What was she doing? there was a time and place for everything, and right now was no time for such thoughts. Evidently Dion agreed, or perhaps he simply wasn't as concerned with such things as the Arcosian was, since the Saiyan was now leaning forward with a purr to show off his new suit. For a moment Aurora couldn't help but give an appreciative look, her eyes running along him quickly, and she was tempted to reply in kind.
Fortunately, or unfortunately depending upon one's view, she managed to regain control. "Of course it is, Dion. You never fail to exceed expectations." She replies, shifting ever so slightly in her seat. She wouldn't break posture, but... Well. She was rather proud of her dress, and admittedly eager to show it off. However, what she was more eager for was seeing what this dinner could lead to. Aurora wasn't exactly great at emotions. Hell, she could very well be called blind to most of them, but even she could recognise a burgeoning endearment. One that could very quickly becomes something... more.

The sight of the normally so stoic yet now stammering Arcosian on his arm brought a further bemused glint into his already brightened gaze- the bartender having no clue at all that he had such an effect on someone, but still all the more ready to use it fully to his own advantage. In the past it had been, difficult, at times, to try and pierce through Aurora's ordinarily emotionless outer exterior. However, now, in light of the fact that Dion specifically seemed to have the ability to rile her up outside of her comfort zone, the Saiyan male was finding it much easier to find the cracks and openings in her emotional armor so to speak. The bartender kept his eyes on the ball as Aurora stared directly back into his own gaze, shrugging as she mentioned how it wasn't entirely necessary for him to try and go all out as he did, replying in his commonly used nonchalant tone, more similar to that of his usually laidback linguistics, "Yes, a bartenders attire is naturally formal, but, considering the higher end nature of the establishment, as well as the want to meet your standards of course, I thought it'd be appropriate to, kick it up a notch, yes-? Besides."
He then flashed her that same amorous stare he had been giving her for the majority of their time spent currently together.
"It seems like you don't have any complaints."
As the conversation continued once they were both seated at their table, Dion feigned a hurt look as Aurora remarked how he was, admittedly, louder, than most she has met- saying with a mock distressed tone, "Oh, pardon my mouth then Aurora- I apologize. I am only Saiyan afterall. It, now that I think about it, sort of comes with the race, doesn't it?"
Allowing for Aurora to continue quickly after his quipping, a more sincerely surprised look appeared on the Saiyans face as she went on to state how his, loud manner, wasn't at all necessarily a negative trait of his. With the words charming and handsome nearly bringing Dion's face into a red flush. Thankfully, he was able to restrain himself a bit, seeing as he wanted to keep his composed demeanor as a means to continue fluster Aurora more easily, retorting back with a pleased voice, "All the best for you, Aurora dearest. And, as for meals, well, seeing as you're still relatively new to Earthly cuisine, I suggest maybe, Sushi, with a Martini on the side-?"
Whilst voicing his opinion on deciding her starting meal, Dion's eyes were able to catch the momentary falter in Aurora's guard, his sly grin widening as he watched for just a moment her walls beginning to come down a bit, a bashful look of all things appearing on the Arcosians face. It was, cute, to witness, he thought- that a small-town Saiyan lad would make a decidedly upper-class Arcosian woman wilt under constant emotional toil.
Well, opposites, did attract after all- that was the saying, right?
Not wanting to push his luck, Dion allowed the topic of conversation to shift from a lighthearted undertone to a more serious focus- with Dion's face finally readjusting to look a bit more formal as Aurora mentioned the trip to Arcose, a pang of worry stabbing somewhere deep inside as she did bring up the potentiality of fatality.
A much more caring, and sincere voice now came from the normally flirty and quippy Saiyan's mouth, saying as he leaned a bit more forward toward Aurora, "Right- of course. Trust me, the sadness is quite mutual. If anything were to happen to you or Zhalla whilst off-world, where you're out of reach from me, I.."
Unable to finish his words for a moment, a crestfallen face now appeared on Dion's features, a few seconds passing before he was able to regain his bearings and finish off his statement, attempting to try and end it with a bit more of an optimistic tone, "...Well, I'd feel guilty as all hell for letting two of my closest friends undertake such a task without me. I didn't put myself through hell and forcibly obtain all of this newfound power to just do nothing with it, you know? And the thought of anything happening to you, is a heart wrenching one indeed. But, I trust the two of you, and something tells me, everything'll turn out alright."
"...just, don't take too long, coming back to me, alright~? It gets lonely, here, at times."
Now, feeling the winds of change now blowing them back to a more relaxed atmosphere, Dion leaned back in his seat, looking across the city skyline just outside their window, as he asked Aurora in the deepened tone that he loved to tease her with, "It appears the feeling is mutual- everytime I've seen you, you've managed to outdo yourself somehow Aurora. Whether it be through tangible, or magical means. You're quite the enchantress~" Despite his flirtatious teasing, Dion was indeed impressed by the fact that anyone really that he knew had a background in magical manipulation- and part of him did hope that she went more in depth with it after having it mentioned explicitly. Or, she could always just, act flustered once again- that would also more than suffice.

"Mm." Is her eloquent response to his reasoning, the Arcosian nodding mutely. "I see. Well." The Arcosian was used to Dion's playful attitude, it was part of what made him so... admittedly charming. Yet somehow, when combined with the ambient pressure of such a meeting and the subtext beneath this dinner, each word was easily capable of piercing through to her. His smile prompted an attempt at one from her in return, although she wasn't sure how good it was. "It certainly works well. Very fitting for you. I... I like it." Aurora nods. Right. That was done then, and she was going to swiftly move along as she glances around from their table. It certainly seemed that they had dressed apropriately, with those around them wearing similar aticles of clothing, although she noted with pride that very few were of the quality of hers, nor did any of the men around reach the level of charm that Dion managed to exude on the daily. Although... there was the possibility that she was simply biased in that regard. She did have a certain fondness for him, that seemed to extend beyond a mere liking. Hm. Perhaps she would need to keep in mind to stay focused around him.
She raises a brow at his mock hurt words. Was this a game of some sort? "...Indeed. Or, well, I suppose that it's less that Saiyans are loud and more that my own people tend to be rather muted. We spend our entire lives being trained to suppress and stay calm, so as to not allow those around you to use your emotions. So, when I see someone such as yourself, freely giving your emotions away I... find it rather odd. Charming, but odd." She found herself and her words rewarded as just the barest hints of a flush appeared on the man's cheeks. Certainly not something others would have noticed, but as she had just stated, Arcosians were very much in tune with the subtleties of conversation. It was a... nice scene. His words also helped to satisfy her, as while it was no doubt empty pleasantry, 'all the best for you' was still something nice for the Arcosian to hear. As was his recommendations, rather than some platitudes about the man who works in the food industry not knowing his meals, as if that were ever a possibility of fooling her.
"Sushi, hm?" She murmurs, flipping through the pages until she found the article. Local seafood, seemingly raw, with a variety of high protean vegetables, alongside the proper carbohydrates... "Yes. I find that sounds rather lovely. Arcosians, while capable of digesting anything, do prefer meat. After all..." She does her best to put on a sultry look. "We are hunters." ...Mission failed, abort, abort, back to the mask. That was so bad it practically caused her pain, and the Arcosian made a mental note to never ever try that again EVER the sheer embarrassment oh by the gods no why had she done that?! It nearly made her squirm in her seat. "...I think i'll leave the flirting to you." She eventually manages to get out through gritted teeth, admitting fault hurting her almost as much as her attempt at romance. Almost. Of course, the conversation soon moved on, and sshe nods in agreement with him. "Yes, I feel I must agree with you there." She nods. "I do not plan on risking Zhalla's life, and... while I have invited her, I am considering simply going by myself. I know i'm not the strongest, you yourself are proof of that, but I'm still powerful and capable. I can get in and get out before anyone notices my presence there, hopefully... hopefully whole again." It hahd been too long since Bepis, her brush with death, and those that left a lasting mark upon her body.
She did note the way he trailed off, and while that worried her, Aurora couldn't help but feel a little... touched. "Hey. I'm strong. I will be fine. But I thank you for the worry nonetheless. It's nice to know you care about my well being at least as much as I care about yours." She does her best to give him a reassuring look. Given the fact that she barely smiled doing so, she doubted it was that good of one. But... the attempt was there, at least, and she hoped he could see that. "And... for what it's worth, as much as my logic dictates that you ar emore than capable of handling any threat posed to you, the thought of you in danger also... hurts. I suppose." Ruby red eyes slide away for a moment out of discomfort. It was a necessary thing to say, she knew. In theory, it would deepen the breadth of their relationship. In practice, the Arcosian felt extremely embarrassed at such an admission. Fortunately she was granted a reprieve at her joking tone, eyes returning to meet his. "Of course, returning to you will be a goal of utmost importance, excluding the one taking me to Arcose in the first place." She responds seriously.
She watched as he leaned back, raising a brow as the conversation once again grew lighter in tone. It seemed they were rather all over the place tonight. "...Yes, well, I have had a rather firm foundation to stand on. And with." She says with a pointed look towards him, easily noting how he seemed to want to talk more about her magic. After all, the day a Saiyan managed to completely deceive an Arcosian was the day she considered that they might deserve to rule. "As for my magic, I must agree with you there. I initially sought after it in order to use it to accentuate my physical abilities, but as time went on I realised just exactly what I was squandering. Such a versatile tool was simply being wasted, and so I decided to put more emphasis upon it. I do hope you like the results?" She gestures at her dress, even as the waiter finally came over.
Giving the pair a smile, he introduces himself, before asking if they were ready to order. "I believe that I am. Are you, Dion?" She glances towards him questioningly. "Feel free to include my order in yours, if so." The Arcosian offers, so as to save time. Once that was done, she would ensure that her form and posture were still proper, before starting the pleasantries. "Tell me." She starts. "About yourself, I mean. I am... curious." She felt no shame in admitting a want of knowledge, especially not about him, to him.

Able to read the room with relative ease due to his extensive past in having to read and assess people through bartending, Dion could clearly see that Aurora was having slight difficulty with matching the charismatic and outgoing attitude that was all but characteristic of the Saiyan sitting before her. Even when they had first met the young man never failed to display just how charming one could be when in good company, something that he's carried all the way with him to the present, despite life's attempts at taking it from him. Perhaps another thing that Aurora had come to admire about him-? Maybe. That was something for him to figure out much later though, when this little period of testing the waters was over and done with. And, rest assured, Dion was still very much meaning to see just how far he could delve into such waters. Seeing Aurora's attempt at a smile in reply to his own made him chuckle a bit, not in a teasing manner, but in a flattered, yet still very much amused, way, with him replying with a slight wink, "Lovely to hear that I've met your standard then Aurora. I've gotta say, you've set the bar real high though with how you're looking tonight. I'm, again, real flattered you'd go through all the effort. Real, easy on the eyes~"
With that last bit, Dion narrowed his eyes and lowered his voice once more to a purr, slowly returning to a less, charged, demeanor as Aurora began to explain the Arcosian race's (understandable) reasoning for keeping their emotions under wraps. From a logical standpoint, it did make sense to do so, having not too many highs or lows emotions wise allows for a higher level and quality of focus overall. Not just in combat, but in everyday life in general, seeing as emotions very often cloud the judgement of even the best of people.
But, to Dion, the ups simply didn't outweigh the downs- having to give up the ability to emote at his highest and to vent when at his lowest seemed too much to give. While, yes, as a bartender, he also had to train himself to be much more reserved in nature, to have to act like that every minute of everyday sounds not only exhausting, but downright boring!
Of course, to avoid offending Aurora, he kept those thoughts to himself, choosing to nod at her explanation and say as he leaned his head against his right hand, tapping his cheek with his pointer finger as he stared endearingly at Aurora as he spoke, "Understandable, emotions do often cloud judgement and decision making, so I suppose your race has that down to a tee. But, I have to say, isn't it, stifling, to have to avoid emoting in any way, shape, or form on the daily-? Maybe it's because I'm a naturally, open, person as you've said, but that sounds real, tedious. I'm sure you've got loads of things you've got deep inside you wanna just shout aloud, right?"
"Well, let me, maybe, be the first to tell you that, when you're with me Aurora- you act however you want to act, emotions or no emotions. I'll find your company lovely either way, no matter what."
With his sincerest offerings now out of the way, he was completely now taken aback by Aurora's sudden display of forwardness through food- eyes widening in surprise and face flushing slightly once more as she spoke, a relieved bit of laughter coming from Dion as Aurora quickly apologized for her, strangely semi-successful, blunder. With the bartender reaching over toward her and patting her right on the hand in reply, saying with an earnest tone and a warm smile on his face, "You aren't half bad at it, sweetheart. I found it quite quaint. You'll just need a little practice, and I suppose with me around, you'll get more than enough pointers needed, right~?"
Indeed, perhaps he would leave the flirting to him afterall.
Though, the fun and games slowly began to fade a bit as they began to touch upon once again the subject of Aurora's little space trip off to Arcose, a more concerned expression now blooming on his face as the Arcosian spoke on about how she even considered going it alone. Shaking it off a bit, Dion stared down Aurora with a much more serious yet evermore tender glint in his gaze, saying as he leaned forward a bit toward her, "I can't let you do that Aurora- I know you're a strong, independent woman who don't need no Saiyan to babysit her, but, I can't on good conscience let you go alone. I'm sure I can make some things happen, shift a few schedules around to work better in my favor so that I could tag along if needed, and if you're that concerned over Zhalla's own wellbeing- which is, of course, also understandable. But the thought of you getting hurt, when I could have done something to prevent it?"
A stern shake of the head was all he allowed himself to do in order to keep from dwelling on that potentiality, thoughts nearly becoming filled to the brim with Aurora's near fatal state upon those snow capped mountaintops not too long ago- with him now instead choosing to finish by stating, "If, you're confident about going, then you can go with my blessing, of course, I'd never hold a grudge against you for doing whats best for your own health- both physically, and perhaps mentally. But, please, don't go alone. It already pains me to not be able to stick by your side for this little venture. You doing so alone? That, would be one big damn ache."
Despite all of that, though, once Aurora also admitted the thought of Dion in danger did also bring her, discomfort, to say the least, he allowed himself a bit of a sigh, shooting her a reassuring grin as he said in an earnest voice, "Well, believe me, when I say I'll be waiting here with bated breath. We'll drink to your success on your return-!"
And as the remainder of the heavier topics finally took their leave, they were finally able to discuss more interesting topics, specifically Aurora's own magical ability- the bartender listening intently as she offered a bit of backstory on it. He found it dumbfounding that she apparently just decided to pick up such magical ability seemingly with relative ease. Oh, he was quite sure there was probably an insane learning curve when it came to fully utilizing it, but the fact that it looked as though Aurora had no difficulties in finding a means of learning such fantastical skills in the first place did surprise him.
"That's pretty crazy honestly," Dion replied as he watched the waiter make his way over with welcoming eyes. "You make it look so easy. I wonder if a guy like me could learn a spell or two, or, however that whole magic schtick works, ehehe."
As he began to relay the waiter their orders (He ordered a Hetap Seltzer with Sushi as well), Dion turned back to face Aurora just in time for him to hear her inquire about himself. Shrugging, the bartender let out a slightly embarrassed laugh, saying, "Apologies, but, I'm not a real interesting individual yunno? I grew up on Planet Vegeta like the majority of my race, wasn't exactly the strongest out of the bunch, so I went relatively under the radar for most people. My father used to be part of the Saiyan Kingdom military until a raid trip went bad, and he had a downward spiral into drink and drunkenness. With my mother having to pick up the slack and provide for us until an accident at work forced me to take the reigns through bartending. Which, I was qualified for due to prior experience with drinks and making them for my father. Maybe a bit counterproductive, but, what else could we do, you know? It's not like us Saiyans are known for our veteran programs."
Taking a bit of a breather, he continued, "Once I turned eighteen, I decided to leave home in search of something, greater, yunno? I made sure my family was financially secure, of course, before I took my leave- and soon enough, I had made a home for myself on Earth. And the rest, is, really history."
Allowing a couple moments for Aurora to take it all in, Dion then let out a sheepish chuckle, saying in an apologetic tone, "See, I told ya it wasn't all that exciting. Though, if you've got any questions or something like that, shoot. I don't mind. I got nothin' to hide afterall."
