In a word, gorgeous. In a lot more words, Nasta stands at about five feet, has thick, glossy black hair with a slight curl that she's taken to wearing long, an hourglass figure, and inhumanly pale skin. None of this was true before she was augmented by Ribbon Dance except for the height and the hair colour, so maybe it's not surprising her dress sense is a little conflicted. Nasta typically dresses in a black cocktail dress with a slit up to her hip, black heeled boots, black opera gloves with red detailing, and a black trench-coat with a white fur collar and a whole lot of pockets. The dress, boots and gloves are because she likes being beautiful. The coat is because she was brought up to be practical and struggles with how fancy the rest of her outfit is. It's a whole thing, and she's surprisingly sensitive about it; if she can't laugh off people asking about her dress sense, she can get angry and aggressive instead. Lastly, there's her tattoo - a winged snake eating its own tail, circling a pentagram, right in the middle of her chest. She got it about two weeks after her augmentation to mark her rebirth. Also, it looks pretty metal, which was the main reason she chose it.
BACKGROUND: The story of Anastasia "Nasta" Phoenix should, by all rights, be little more than an interesting footnote in the history of Earth's military. Her history before enlistment was not unusual; born in North city to divorced parents, middle child of six, graduated high school at 17- so far, so standard. A brief stint as a martial artist (New Crane school, dropped out after a year) did not inspire much confidence.
Things changed, however, when she joined the Earth Military. Something seemed to click in the young private; hard work and dedication led her to rise through the ranks. At 21, she was the youngest soldier to make Captain in over a decade. Her promotion from Infantry to Special Forces was even more notable; Nasta's Ki manipulation was mediocre at best. Her willingness to fight dirty, however, and a terrifying level of skill with a knife, more than made up for her deficiencies. Her unswerving loyalty to her planet helped too.
This promising career was cut short when Bando attacked Central City. Nasta was deployed with her squad to help evacuate civilians. A stray ki beam killed most of her comrades, and left her paralysed from the neck down. There it could easily have ended. Instead, the Captain had met the eye of one of the stranger organisations that lurked in Earth's government; an experimental Super Soldier project codenamed "Ribbon Dance."
In many ways, Ribbon Dance was not particularly unusual. Scientists proposed to use a complex system of gene splicing, experimental drug therapies and general techno-wizardry to transform a normal soldier into a superhuman killing machine. Similar ideas had been had in the past, and the success rate was by and large fine. No, what was unusual about Ribbon Dance was found in its ethics and oversight committee.
It had one.
From the very beginning, Ribbon Dance was designed to ensure it did not repeat the mistakes of the past. As opposed to treating its subjects as disposable weapons to be pointed at the enemy and disposed of when necessary, the project would make sure that the soldiers in its care were taken care of; full health care was offered, along with proper insurance, decent wages, and a surprisingly solid dental plan. Every subject was also thoroughly screened in advance for mental health issues, and any psychopath with a hard-on for murder was carefully diverted away. But Nasta? A promising young officer with a sharp mind and an unwavering commitment to her home planet? Oh yes. She'd do nicely.
The captain spent the next six weeks undergoing Ribbon Dance's surgical enhancement. The results were spectacular - she regained full use of her body, along with enhanced strength, stamina, regenerative capability, and ki manipulation. She also gained a set of claws that made her a formidable hand to hand fighter. And whatever else happens, one thing is clear. Nasta Phoenix will be more than a damned footnote.
TECHNIQUES:
OFFENSIVE/DEFENSIVE TECHNIQUES:
[A1] Ravage: Nasta closes with her opponent and slashes them with her claws. Deals 33% of your current PL in damage.
SUPPORT TECHNIQUES:
Afterimage [SU1]: Through a sudden burst of speed you leave behind a static image of yourself to distract your opponent, this technique allows you to completely dodge techniques beneath 100% of your PL. This technique uses 1 KP in KP Battles.
UTILITY TECHNIQUES:
Four-Witches Technique [UT1]: Through some method you are capable of producing two additional arms(or arm-like appendages!) that sprout from your back, these limbs provide no extra power in and of themselves but to provide you with extra fists to punch your opponent and extra hands for grappling AND punching. This technique uses 0 KP in a KP Battle
TRAITS:
TRIPLE THREAT- Namekian Regeneration (50% regeneration once per thread, can regrow lost limbs), Alien Durability (Reduce damage from a taken attack by 33% once per thread, can survive in the void of space), Human Quick Witted (Techniques cost 500 PL less).
ABSORB ABILITY- In Death-Enabled Threads, you can attempt to absorb a non-resisting foe. If successful, gain 25% of their Power Level (or 25,000 PL whichever is lower). If this would push your Base Power Level past the requirements for Imperfect or Half-Perfect form, unlock it immediately. If not, then when you can unlock that form, you may do so freely. Can only absorb up-to 50,000 PL, unless it would push you above the requirements for your next permanent form. Cannot absorb vaporized enemies.
BIO-METABOLIZE- If you absorb a victim without attaining the Semi-Perfect form, you gain one of their non-signature techniques and use it as your own.
