BEACH BLAST | Paprika's PL: 68,000 |
Cool, fresh air rolled in over the water at one of South City’s most populous beaches. It was the kind of day that only came when spring was finally turning to summer: the beginning of the season’s heat, without the uncomfortable intensity. It was, in Paprika’s mind, the perfect weather for a trip to the beach. Not that she was every really bothered by the heat, of course: the Demon Realm was thrice as hot as this place, lava spewing everywhere. But even if she could take the most boiling July day without much displeasure, her Earthling peers could not. No, when the summer well and truly set in, they would start to moan and complain about the heat, all the while spoiling a perfectly good beach with all their gross sweating and weird-smelling sun lotions. She was determined to enjoy this most optimal beach weather while it lasted. So, around mid-day, she made her way past the checkpoint to scope out the fun and games occupying the Earthlings that day. There were the usuals, of course! Beach volleyball, swimming, games of frisbee and catch, and even that most strange of Earthling habits: laying around to let the sun gently sear you. She assumed there was a limit to how much of that they could really take, of course — like flame-searing a steak. If you take too long, the steak is ruined. She resisted the urge to bring up this thought to one of the sun-searing Southerners, and instead made her way over to the water. She couldn’t swim herself, or at least she had never tried, but she did want to join in the fun. After all, Earth practically belonged to her, so she should be front and center whenever there were fun and games to be had! As long as she wasn’t busy, of course. She stepped out into the water, just enough so that it was washing up to her ankles, and tried to catch the attention of a passing swimmer. She did get his attention, but it wasn’t for a quick chat or even a friendly hello — he just sort of looked at her like he’d seen some kind of monster, and went swimming away! That was kind of rude, but she wasn’t going to get too upset at him. She knew her looks intimidated some people — perfection could be difficult to cope with. At least, that’s how she reasoned it at first. Time and time again, she tried to approach interesting looking Earthlings — men and women, humans and… well, humans that had fur… whatever those were called! For the first time in her life, or at least the first time this week, nobody wanted anything to do with her. She was either too intimidating or just too scary. Where the first time it was easy to ignore, the second time it got a little more grating — by the time she lost count of how many people were just avoiding her, it was downright humiliating. The final straw was a woman around her age, giving her a look of sheer contempt when she approached with a pleasant little compliment about her hat. Maybe it came off wrong — but she couldn’t figure out where or why. “Hello, my beloved human servant!” she had said, with her most polite, fanged smile. “That hat is made of straw. It suits you! Just like the peasants of old!”It seemed perfectly reasonable. More than reasonable, it seemed friendly! When the woman shot her that look and stomped away, Paprika felt her eyes begin to well up with tears. She was always so popular when she spun her magic around people! Now that she just wanted to be herself, nobody wanted to be anywhere near her! Well, it wouldn’t do for the future Queen of Earth to be seen crying, so she did the next best thing. She would get even! She wouldn’t hurt the woman, of course — not really. Just a slight flame-searing, like she was probably going to get from the sun anyways! Fire began to form in the base of her throat, as her eyes locked dead set on her target. A moment later, and a stream of fire was blazing out of her lips. That would show these Earthlings to be nice to her for a change!
Paprika fails to make friends and throws a temper tantrum instead. Her PL shoots from 68,000 to 272,000 (x4P Activated).
[A1] Fire Breath used on a hapless civilian! 89,760 PL damage heading their way. Whether she intends it or not, this is probably not something this poor citizen is going to survive.

Summer days, kind of like Winter days, seemed to be particularly busy for most of the earthlings! As the warm breeze, heated by the sun’s direct rays, swarmed the large cities with its overwhelming presence, the poor little earthling seemed to retreat against it, going to the nearest body of water to enjoy the cold liquid that allowed them to survive through such time. Of course, Vangreth didn’t need to do such things, but the experience of it could be interesting, and those kind of events always attracted people much more like him; there was really no other way he was aware of that could encounter new faces.
The Mukojin decided to commit to its fullest, so he first went to buy himself a few summer ‘needs’, such as a bathing suit, which did sound more appropriate than his regular attire if he was to submerge himself in water. A diving kit, for kids that is, with a mask equipped with a little tuba and even an inflatable belt-like balloon with bubbles drawn on it. When he payed for it all, the cashier could not help but chuckle at the rather tall and intimidating alien buying such silly stuff, but all Vangreth could do was smile back at him nicely.
Now that he was all equipped, it was the time to finally head to the sea! Right out of the shop, Vangreth took of to the sky, looking for the closest body of water that seemed to attract people. Since he was in South City, there was a lot of those around, but one of them caught his attention more than the others, and that would be because there was an actual Ki signature coming from it! Maybe there was a tournament that could be held there too?! With that in mind, he burst through the sky towards his destination.
He arrived there and instantly drew attention to him, and kind of in the same way as before, people looked at him with a worried eye, drawing their children away from him. Now, since he was wearing only his swimming shorts, his red marks all around his very white skin were much more visible, alongside his strange hole-like feature on his chest. Nevertheless, he managed to find himself a spot were people would not pay much attention to him and began to enjoy the summer at the best of his ability!
While in the middle of making waves for pretty nice dude bros that asked if he could give them some to surf-sized wave, which he did by flying under-water at certain speeds. Suddenly, a moment of panic rose in him when his ki-sensing felt a sudden rise in power in the signature he had felt at first, and it seemed to even be gathered for an attack!
Instantly, Vangreth’s own power sprung into action and he rushed outside of the water, bringing with him a large wave of water that would crash on the beach and inconvenience pretty much half of the beach. His ki-sensing ability allowed him to locate the attacker and he managed to, just in time, put himself between the attack and the target. Unfortunately, he did not have the time to do much else than tank the attack straight on.
After having taken the whole attack, his skin seemed to be red, but recover rather quickly. He would turn to the demon attacking… and would kind of freeze for a moment before shaking his head; that was his chance to act like a hero!
‘’ If you want to create chaos, you’ll have to get over me first!’’
Now, while it really sounded cliché, and it really was, Vangreth seemed to be absolutely adamant about it, like he had just epically stood in front of the ultimate evil. As a taunt, he would offer the demon a show of his power, even though she could not sense it, he would flash his energy with his ruby red aura springing out of him.
‘’ Now what will you do, villain?’’
He said with a confidence that could be only compared to that of a children playing hero in the most intense way toddlers could.

BEACH BLAST| Paprika's PL: 272,000 |
The result of Paprika's burst of fire was somewhat unexpected. It wasn't a gentle searing of the rude lady from before, but rather of some strange newcomer. Whoever it was, he recovered awfully fast from the burns she had left across him -- that didn't make her too happy. Neither did the fact that he completely left that horrible woman from before off the hook. It was just one unfairness after another, and she couldn't stand for that. Paprika stomped her foot angrily, shooting a heated glare towards the would-be hero. "You didn't have to go and ruin my moment!" she complained, little wisps of smoke still evaporating into the air when she smoke, some lingering remnant of her fiery breath. "I had this perfectly under control when you decided to come be... you know..." she had to puzzle for a few seconds, but then it came to her. "A white knight! That's what you're being!"She pointed an accusatory finger his way. "You're being a big, stupid white knight. I thought that lady was being rude, but you're being even more rude, because you're trying to protect her being rude! Is it because she's a girl?" Jumping to conclusions was, it seemed, one of Paprika's favourite past-times. Or maybe sometimes her mouth moved faster than her brain. "She's not going to date you just because you took one little burst of fire for her, stupid!"She crossed her arms across her chest, absolutely fuming. She did not, however, launch any follow up attack against him -- in fact, she hardly even seemed to notice that he was trying to show off his power. Instead, she was so fed up with the way he was behaving... or at least how she assumed he was behaving, that she just stood there murmuring another string or two of insults in his direction, albeit under her breath. That 'rude' lady from before was, of course, able to make her escape completely unharmed thanks to the hero's sudden intervention. Fortunately, that seemed to escape the demon's notice. At least for now.

While Vangreth was first thrilled to be facing his very first villain, he was not expecting it to be such a strange encounter. While he was standing there, having brushed off the demon's attack with relative ease, he would have expected this horrible murderer to keep up the attack, or perhaps throw a few punches his way or anything similar... but instead, it just seems like she was throwing a tantrum about him... which caught the alien off guard.
This suddent change in attitude stunned Vangreth, enough for him to let the demon talk... just... to know what was going on in her head.
When she called him out as a White Knight, his right eyebrow would rise in confusion.
'' Wait... I am not a knight... I'm obviously a....''
He looked at himself... he was not wearing his fighting clothes anymore... that might have been the most normal he had looked in forever!
''... are bathing short the uniform for a knight? Dammit! I was trying to look like a regular Earthling going to the beach!''
He exlaimed, visibly upset about his perceived mistake. He would never blend naturally with Earthlings to begin with, but now he just had to go and make some mistakes about clothes too! And that also meant that the cashier lied to him about these being for beach purposes!
The extent of the demon's barrage of insult did not help either, as he was now confronted with apparently the human girl somehow making him a date? Whatever that meant, it did not seem like something Vangreth would want to be.
'' Why would I want her to make me into a date? That does not even make sense... ''
Vangreth though about it for a second, and then an ingenious idea popped into his head.
'' Oh! You must just be new to Earth and not understand how things work here! Let me fill you in on some stuff... first, Earthling are very fragile, you can't just engage in a friendly duel with them or they will cease to exist. Secondly, knights usually weak like, bigger clothes made of metal, not shorts... and finally, I am not sure what a date is to you, but on Earth, dates are just... you know... how we seperate days apart.''
Having said that, Vangreth was really proud of himself, he certainly hoped it would help out this poor demon, they seemed so confused after all.
