It was a glorious day to be at the beach. Devoid of people, the sun shone warmly over the yellow southern sands of the deserted beach, and the gentle breaking of the waves upon the shore could almost lull one to sleep. But Lao wasn't here to relax. Out in the surf, a lone human figure struggled to keep afloat. As he inched towards the shore, Lao strained to keep his head above of the water as his leaden limbs barely managed to propel him forward through the current. This had been the way of things for a few hours now, as he swam out to sea to challenge his mind and body. Now, finally nearing the shore, he wasn't quite sure if he'd actually make it. His muscles ached and burned, and each stroke seemed to come more weakly than the last. After what seemed like eons fighting against the current, Lao finally hit sand. Dragging himself up on to the beach, he struggled with a quartet of chains fastened around his wrists and ankles. With a sharp tug on the chains, he dragged the four massive iron spheres weighing him down up onto the beach with him, so they were no longer pulling him back down into the water. "Swimming with these things on is a real challenge! I thought I was gonna drown..." he remarked in between deep, shuddering breaths. He lay flat on his back on the beach, not even bothering to remove the iron weights around his limbs. As he rested, he didn't even notice a familiar aura approaching his position... Thread PL: 50,000

Spectating a certain human's attempt at training within beach side conditions, hidden behind the shadows of the shore's nearby treeline, was the Arcosian Emperor himself Polarus Wintergreen- an amused expression hidden behind his face's bio-mask as he watched with an entertained gaze as his first Earthling friend Lao struggled through the blue and wafting azure ocean waves. He wondered, with a bit of a concerned undertone, just how long he had spent within the ocean blue, as he didn't believe a warrior of his caliber should be struggling with moving through such relatively calm conditions. While Lao was just about to reach the sandy salvation of the shore, Polarus decided to make himself relatively known, moving out from beyond the greenery, crossing his arms as he emerged in his hulking as ever True Form. It had been a couple weeks or so since their last meeting, which was, if he could recall correctly, while they were both within the Artic for, again, training purposes. Though, it hadn't been just the two of them within that encounter- Polarus had been carrying Whisker in his company, and Lao had seemingly been within a conversation with the other Arcosian, Aurora Arctos, before the two had seen each other once again.
It was a bit of a shame the two didn't get any one on one time these days, as they had traveled within each others company for a little while when Polarus had first arrived on the planet. But then as the journey continued, their goals began to drive the two of them on slightly differing paths, with Polarus finding companionship with Zriracha and Whisker while Lao was absent. Not that he didn't at all not want Lao's presence any longer. In fact, he had come to miss the man's endearing nature. Which was exactly why he had decided upon meeting up with him once again like the old days presently.
The task of finding a wanderer like Lao wasn't exactly that taxing- in fact, it was not a matter of if, but when, considering the supplies within the Arcosian's use. An hour or so spent searching using his ship's radar system gave him exactly what he was looking for, and he immediately touched down a couple miles off of Lao's location and spent the last couple minutes looking for him on foot. Which, proved a bit more difficult considering he still couldn't sense energy naturally (Something that he sorely needed to learn how to do), but the Arcosian did manage.
And so, that's how Polarus found himself now here, on this beach, in the middle of a wonderfully looking tropical destination, walking over to his old human friend. His eyes widened as he noticed the many hefty looking chains adorning the mans body, though he supposed Lao was never one to take training lightly. This did help explain his struggle through the water though- he was afraid that Lao got lazy within his absence, but he was happy to see that he was indeed wrong in his doubt.
Now nearly on top of the man, looking down at him from just in front of his head, Polarus said in an amused tone, "Finally- I was wondering when you'd eventually clean yourself. A nice swim within these clear, clean, and pristine saltwater waves would indeed do wonders for you, yes? There isn't a speck of dirt or grime on you left."
He then offered a hand to Lao, a much more friendlier glint now within his eyes as he finished by stating, "It is a pleasure to see your face once more, Lao, I apologize for keeping you waiting. Many a thing has transpired within your absence."

"Polarus!" Lao exclaimed, all signs of exhaustion disappearing as he hauled himself to his feet, taking Polarus' hand as support. After a few quick movements, the chains around Lao's limbs thudded to the sand, releasing Lao as he let off a barrage of questions. "What've you been doin'? Eating enough? Fight any interesting people lately? How's yer cat friend doin'? Nevermind- It's good ta seeya!" Lao made a valiant attempt to give his friend a bear hug, requiring him to undertake a bit of a leap to be able to reach. "Feels like it's been ages!"
Lao made no effort to disguise his excitement upon reuniting with the towering arcosian, not that he ever really made the effort to disguise his emotions anyway. He was amped to hear about Polarus' adventures while they had been focusing on their own objectives- and Lao was equally excited to tell Polarus what he'd been up to! There was so much to talk about... but he decided to stick with the basics for now. "So, what brings ya to this part of the world?"
