Nashua grumbled to herself as she wandered out into the middle of one of the meadows that made up the, uh, 'endless meadow' of the Otherworld. That was what it had been called on the internet, anyway. Nashua had to wonder whether or not they really were endless, though. She wouldn't have been too surprised if they actually were, given all the magic, or at least apparent magic, generally at play with all this afterlife stuff, but even still, could anything truly go on forever? Even the Universe had a theoretical end to it, not that anyone had ever reached it and returned. ...Why was she getting so philosophical about this, anyway? It's just a big dumb field that's probably a good spot to train. It took a little bit to find one that was devoid of people, but before long, the Saiyan settled on a good spot, sighing to herself for taking all the effort to even come out there.
Well, now that she was there, no point in turning back without at least giving some 'training' a shot, right? Of course, there was that minor issue she'd been having for a while, but nothing that couldn't be overcome with a little bit of willpower, right? It had been a while, but Nashua had done it enough times that she quite easily remembered how the whole process went. First, she took in a deep breath through her nostrils, then out her mouth. In, out, and again a few more times just to fully relax herself. What was next, again...? She paused a moment, then remembered. The Saiyan's body tensed itself up, her fists clenching and her muscles slightly bulging as she focused all of her energy, her kill building up inside her, flowing through her, expanding, until...
...Nothing? Nashua held the position for several seconds until she finally let a puff of air out her mouth and relaxed. "Dammit," she grumbled, kicking the grass and sending a chunk of dirt flying off into space, or whatever was above Heaven. Alright, no big deal, she thought to herself. Just try again. ...And again. One more time. Again? Oh, screw it. After the fifth filed attempt at going Super Saiyan, Nashua had reached her limit. "Oh, come on!" she exclaimed, throwing her built up ki energy all around her in something of an explosion. It blasted away all the grass and flowers in a large circle around her, leaving her standing in the middle of a slightly charred and torn apart section of black dirt. Could people just not go Super Saiyan in the afterlife? ...No, she'd done it before. So, what was this? Nashua groaned to herself as she plopped down on the ground, arms spread out and the back of her head in the dirt. Why even bother trying if she was just going to keep failing at this?

Typha had not been doing much in the afterlife. He just had nothing to do. He didn't want to learn the second move from King Kai Yet. He didn't need some trump card. He needed to improve all around. He had been too focused on mastering the Kaio-Ken. It had helped him grow powerful but it left him lacking when he was fighting without its power. It why he failed to kill Cress. He didn't have enough power in the moves itself. He knew he could make his slashes stronger through other means rather than just the Kaioken and that what he needed to explore. Still, he had not figured out a way how. So it was better to just relax. Hopefully, he'd be revived soon or at the very least someone would give him some sort of inspiration. Who knows maybe he could just retire. It would be nice to leave the world and not come back. At the same time, they were many things to still resolve. Plus if he died three times pretty sure he'd make some record and get some ice cream. That might make the death a bit worth it.
Typha strolled in the Endless meadows when he sensed a rising power but it quickly went down. Then it went up then down. Typha looked over towards the power. He had felt it before. It gave him a frown to sense the power of Nashua. He had known her a bit but he didn't expect her to die. He thought people would make sure she didn't. She was also one of the few people he thought were actually pretty good folks. She had been kind enough to spare Aurora's life. Though if he did have a second Senzu that may have helped. Not much but he could of at least gave it to an ally. Might have helped in defeating Cress. Typha shook his head and walked towards Nashua. He might as well see how she was doing. Typha walked over, "You look tired out. Training went wrong or something else?" Typha waved. He'd keep it casual for now he could ask how she died another time. First to help her since she did seem a bit down.

It took a surprisingly little amount of time for a familiar face to show up after Nashua had given up, and her eyes glanced over to see... Typha? She frowned, and slowly sat herself up off the dirt as her neck craned up to take a better look at him. What was he doing here, was he also paying a visit? ...No, wait, wasn't that a halo over his head? Nashua frowned as she stood herself up, ignoring his question for the moment. "I thought I already revived you," she said with a frown. She had, right? ...Yeah, she had, back on Namek after he'd been killed by Yogu. The same person who'd go on to kill her later. Funny how that worked, wasn't it? So, Typha had somehow gotten himself killed twice in the span of under a year? That was... Impressive. Nashua couldn't imagine how annoying it must be to be revived only to be killed less than a year later.
"Well, sorry you died again," she dully added, with little hint of any actual remorse in her tone of voice. If she was being honest, it was a bit hard for her to feel sorry for other people at the moment. Her gaze then lowered to the floor, and her lips curled into a frown as she pondered whether or not to reply honestly to Typha's question. It'd be quite easy to just say 'It's nothing' and then send him off on his way, which was what Nashua was leaning towards, but another part of her did want to be honest with him. And, against her better judgment, she decided to just be honest. "I'm having some trouble going Super Saiyan," she replied, "I haven't been able to figure it out since I died, when it was as easy as blinking before."
Nashua let out a sigh, and kicked up some of the dirt again, though not quite as hard as before this time. She then paused for a moment and glanced over at Typha's halo again. She supposed she might as well at least ask. "So, how did you die again? I thought someone as powerful as you wouldn't have to worry about that for a good while, at the very least." Then again, she was above Typha's power herself, but had still been killed in a single attack. But Typha did have that powerful ability King Kai had taught him, while Nashua, at the time, had had no such extra boon.

Typha nodded. "You did but I am a stubborn guy. I died a lot." Typha said. "Almost died when I got my eye blown out by robots and died twice now for real. Guess I am 1-2 for in near-death experiences. I might need to work on that. Figure out some tactics not to die. Maybe play dead?" Typha joked as he crossed his arms over his chest. When said sorry about him dying he waved his hand. "Not your fault don't worry about it. I know the threat every time I go into a fight." Typha paused thinking about what Ashi said to him. Typha clenched his fist anger filling his mind but he slowly calmed himself. "Even then this is much more bitter than the last one. I appreciate the concern." Typha sighed.
Typha looked a bit surprised as Nashua said her problem was she was unable to go Super Saiyan since she came to the afterlife. "Oh, that is indeed an issue. I never struggled with that stuff when I died both times. Maybe I am just lucky." Typha glanced at Nashua. She seemed very bumped out. Maybe something else was holding her back. Though Typha was not in the know to understand what could be bringing her down. "Well, I suppose there can be a lot of reasons you can't go super saiyan. You had a reason too? Motivation? I mean if I am honest you look like you even gained a bit of weight. If you're not taking care of yourself physically or mentally of course it going to be harder to tap into your strength." Typha bluntly spoke. It may not have been kind but Nashua really didn't look all that great. Her death must have really messed with her head. That was his best guess.
Then she asked how he died as he shrugged for a moment. "It was not fun..." Typha paused. "I've died once before but this one was different. Namek was under threat agian instead it was the Stargoons. They were being led by a saiyan named Cress I am assuming one of Kayen's men or someone who betrayed her. Anyway, I and a few others were the only defense. One of them was quite weak and another weaker than me. About as strong as one of the goons. So I had to hold it together. Anyway, thinks looked fine at first untill two people showed up. First, a Konatsian woman named Ashi. I hate to admit but I trusted her too much. I told her the secrets of the Kaioken despite knowing she was a stargoon. She used that agiasnt me in that battle by telling her allies the Kaioken traits making my victory nearly impossible and losing the element of surprise." Typha rubbed his head in embarrassment and anger just thinking of the moment she betrayed his trust.
"Just as anger-inducing was Ramen. She was now a stargoon and about as strong as my Kaioken x10. Since I can only use the Kaioken in short bursts she alone could have probably defeated me and ended the battle. Of course, the Stargoons didn't do that and I got to attack Cress. I nearly managed to kill him with a combination of my Kaioken x10 and an empowered slash along with my Kaioken x20. If I prehaps fully mastered Kaioken x20 I could have killed him but after using it the damage was too much. Then Ashi knocked me out and then I ended up here. She did say she was going to spare me, but then I died. So either she killed me or something really stupid happened. So I decided to be a hero I suppose agian. But Namek was lost. All of its gone. Everyone dead because I was slightly too weak." Typha clenched his fist anger rising throughout him. But he keeps it under control for him. Going into some childlike outbursts would do them both no good.

Nashua frowned dryly at Typha as the elf spoke on, and on, and on... and on some more. "God, do you ever stop droning on?" she whined after a minute or so of listening to him speak, then she sighed and placed a hand on her forehead. "Sorry." Nashua probably needed to keep a lid on it for a while, if she didn't want everyone to find her insufferable. Even if she already found herself insufferable lately.
"Seriously, though, learn to summarize or something." Alright, maybe keeping a total lid on it was going to be hard to achieve. It was hard to unpack everything he'd said, though. Something about Ramen being on the Star Goons team, which Nashua already knew about, so that detail wasn't too important. Then some stuff about a girl named Ashi, who Nashua had never met. Must have been a new member or something.
"Well, don't beat yourself up about it," she said as Typha started clenching his fist about the loss of Namek. "If it makes you feel any better, both Namek and everyone else who died on it are gonna be brought back to life in like, a couple months or whatever. However long it takes those Dragon Balls on Earth to be used. If they weren't already for something stupid." She supposed she wasn't really around to help enforce their use now, but it'd be downright impressive if they managed to screw up badly enough to lose them to some third rate villain without her help.
"Anyway, get over it. They'll bring you back too along with the rest." She decided not to comment about his own comments on her weight. This 'Ashi' he apparently had a thing for had probably killed him exactly because of those sort of insensitive comments. If there was one thing Typha didn't seem to know how to do, it was talk to women.
"Now, unless you have some useful advice or something for me, I don't have much reason to talk to you right now." Nashua was quickly dismissive of Typha, at least somewhat eager to get back to trying to tap into some of that golden power. "So either go bug someone else with your infinite spiel or just watch quietly or something."
And with that, Nashua turned away from Typha and started trying to focus her energy again, a deep breath in through her nose and out through her mouth. In, out. In, out. in- This wasn't working. A frustrated puff of air left her nostrils as she shut her eyes and tried to clear away the tumultuous storm clouds that refused to clear in her head. Although, as per usual, they didn't clear.

Typha frowned as Nashua asked if he ever stopped droning. "I do eventually but there is a lot to say." Typha was not used to Nashua being this negative. Sure, the last time he meets her she was pretty mad, but that was because they were doing with Aurora and her ice abilities. Death had really hit her hard. Not only had she gotten fat, but she had also become bitter. At least that what he saw. Nashua then told him he shouldn't beat himself over what happened on Namek which gave Typha pause. To be fair, it was going to be tough for him to win that encounter. There was no shame in that failure. But at the same time he could of at least took Cress to the grave with him. Her reasoning for why he should not be mad just made him grunt. "That is a stupid reason not to be mad at all of this. Even if everyone is revived they still faced death. Then to come back to life? For a lot of people that are going to be hard. Plus you seem to beat yourself over dying."
Nashua seemed to done with talking though and she got back to doing some meditation. Typha decided not to interrupt her at first but he could clearly see it was doing her no good. She was trying to concentrate but she seemed unable to tap the power she was looking for. Typha wondered how he could help Nashua. She was strong, so to see her struggling like this was no good at all. She must have been weighted down by more than just some added blubber. After around a minute of letting Nashua meditate, Typha lightly tapped his sword. "Your not gonna get better by meditating 24/7. Meditation can help clear a clouded mind but it is not the only way or the best way. In fact, from my own experience, there is something that meditation will never unclouded. So I'll ask you, how did someone like you die." Typha sat down resting his sword on his shoulder waiting for an answer.

A puff of air came loose from Nashua's nostrils as Typha started talking again. She hadn't really expected him to actually leave when she'd told him to, but she'd been hoping that he would at least be quiet for a bit longer. "I'm not 'beating myself up' about dying," she replied as she turned back to look at him, a hint of agitation quite clear in her tone. "And I'm not meditating. I doubt I could meditate all that well right now if I tried." Nashua was continuing to understand why this Ashi hadn't been too keen on keeping Typha alive, if he always acted like this.
She supposed it was only fair to answer his question about how she'd gone and died, though. She'd asked him the same thing already and he'd answered, so... "Just by being an idiot," Nashua sighed, crossing her arms and shutting her eyes, her eyebrows furrowing above the pair of orbs. "I thought something was one way, but it turned out to be another way, and I paid the price for it."
Maybe she was being a bit too vague, but she had to admit that it wasn't exactly her favorite memory to go recounting. "With any luck, you and I both won't be down for too long," she added, figuring it might be smart to at least attempt a bit of positivity. Typha gave her the impression that if she just acted all doom and gloom in front of him, he'd never leave her alone until she stopped acting that way, and she wasn't entirely sure she'd ever be 'back to her old self'. Her old self was dead, after all.
"And I'm just... Having trouble with my Super Saiyan, like I said. I'll get it before long, you don't need to stress about it for me. Why don't you go say hi to King Kai? I'm sure he wouldn't mind you paying him a visit." He was one of King Kai's students, right? She supposed they were sort of classmates, then. Oddly, she didn't particularly feel that kind of camaraderie with Typha. Maybe it had something to do with how much annoyance his presence was currently causing her, or the fact that they hadn't shared a class with each other. Did Typha know he'd taken her on as a student, as well? ...She may as well mention it.
"He, uh, saw something in me too, I guess," Nashua added, "So he started teaching me how to use his techniques as well. It's been a while since I actually went to see him, though." She wasn't entirely sure what was keeping her from going to see him for another training session. Maybe she was just too embarrassed about her current state. Or maybe it was something else. Either way, in almost every way possible, Nashua was definitely out of shape.

Typha nodded as Nashua said she was not beating herself over for dying but Typha was unsure how else to explain how she was acting and how she seemed to be taking care of herself. As for the meditation thing he laughed. "You have your eyes closed and you're synchronizing your breathing. Forgive me for not knowing that was anything but meditation." A sharp but dull form of sarcasm. His voice didn't try to hide it. When he asked how she died, she kept it brief. "Hmph," Typha grunted glancing at her. Seems her death had really hit her hard. He didn't image her the type to be so private about how she died. But at the same time, it was not his business to pry information out of her. "Well, that sometimes happens. You get blinded to how people truly are." Typha glanced below thinking about all the people in the living world that he thought he understood but now he couldn't be sure.
Typha glanced at Nashua as she seemed to be somewhat positive they come back to life but that was really not good enough for him. Bringing people back from the dead didn't heal any wounds. It just put a band aid on them. Having died twice he liked to think he had a bit more experience in that field. To know that coming back to life didn't soften any mental blows. She seemed to be trying to use her super saiyan form but she was struggling. "Ah." Typha sighed after a moment. "That makes sense." Typha was pretty sure he knew Nashua's problem now or at least he thought he did. He could never be sure. She also tried to push him off by telling him to go King Kai. "I should pay him another visit. I went to his planet actually a while back. Just said hi nothing much. I already mastered the Kaioken and while their probably more that he can teach me I know i'm not ready." Typha shook his head. "I doubt i'm going to be his star student. I got a lot of baggage, Nashi or yourself got more potential then I do." Maybe Typha was bringing himself down a little too low but he had to deal with a lot of turmoil before he felt ready to learn more from King Kai.
Typha got to his feet as Nashua said that King Kai must have seen something in her. "Well of course. You are a really good person. But that also the exact reason I can't leave you here to wallow." Typha dusted himself off. "I'm not an expert about transformations but I got an idea of why you can't power up. It just a thought though. I'd like to help you. Plus I owe you a favor. You took a chance on Aurora. So I can at least try to help you transform again." Typha took in a deep breath. She may not have expected her help but he had to at least give his advice. "It just my thought though but your biggest issue is that you become apathetic. You don't have a reason to transform. A need or a desire. You don't have something to fuel it. Why do you want to become a super saiyan? What are you going to use to fuel it." Typha asked as he waited for Nashua's answer or for her to tell him to shut up. Either one worked for him.
