Current PL: 101,000 For days, Zriracha had been left to travel – not quite searching for anything, but always on the move either way. She’d materialized tome after tome to appraise herself of the many attempts in Demon History to revive those whom had died. Even going so far as to even see if it was possible to restore the lifeforce to one whom did not possess a body… like Carro. So far, her efforts had come up with less than desirable results and she was left to try and regain rest by way of sitting in a small Pizza Parlor with a slice half-eaten and her face propped up on a hand. Softly, she snoozed, unaware of the different kinds of looks from the other customers inside as they took in her demonic form. Her drink, a milkshake that she’d never tried before, was beyond melted and in the background a soft conversation was taking place among the staff. The topic? Who would wake the scary Demon Lady. While Zriracha had done nothing wrong, merely sitting for hours as she struggled to read another volume of ‘Resurrection and You: Volume VI’ before falling asleep with her finger pressed to a few sigils along the paper… She was still a beacon of unwanted attention for the other whom wanted to eat. Namely her snores that echoed through the small establishment. If anything, some of the concerned customer were even smiling and taking video. Poor Goat Lady. Polarus

In a similar way, a certain Arcosian royal was in a bit of an aimless tizzy as well- though, in his mind, it bore much less fruit than whatever he assumed either Zriracha or even Whisker at the moment was up to. Polarus had been busying himself once more with the realization of the goal that he had been harboring ever since visiting Earth, which was gathering intel on the Saiyan Kingdom and the Saiyan race as a whole. Vengeance was a flame not so easily deterred, and Polarus' thirst for revenge burned as brightly as the day it was lit aflame. So, feeling quite determined, he began to look in more populated areas for what he was looking for, libraries, historical sites, specifically those of which that had been home to many a battle that had included the race in question that he was researching on, and even sometimes lurking within the local bar or pub of the sort, attempting to catch a glimpse of anyone or anything that might harbor some useful information upon their person.
Sadly, though, as hinted at before, Polarus wasn't necessarily all that successful- it seemed as though the majority of the people he talked to would rather not have anything to do with the barbaric warrior race, whether it be out of past experiences with the people as a whole, or even from a generally gained fear of the Saiyans and their stereotypical bloodthirsty nature overall, thus leading him to more dead ends than he was willing to admit.
After traveling for a few weeks or so, with little to no avail, a success or two here and there keeping his morale at the bare minimum at least for him to keep searching, Polarus decided that perhaps it was finally time for a bit of a breather. It wouldn't help at all for him to work himself into the ground, and perhaps an idea or two would hit him during his moment of respite and clarity. So, parking his ship just outside of the nearest heavily populated city, which just so happened to be South City, the Wintergreen noble then started off into the city within his True Form, musing on what exactly to do first as he made his way through the various streets and sidewalks.
Eventually, Polarus came across a lining of various food and clothing stores that interested him- with fate deciding to be kinder to him today as his calculative gaze that had been glued to the various shop windows landed on someone who he did not exactly expect to see. It was Zriracha-! Indeed, a surprise, perhaps, but a lovely one nonetheless. He held a slightly amused expression on his masked face as he approached, seeing as now they were two for two on meeting each-other by their lonesome on only chance, only to be replaced with a face of caring pity once he had entered the pizza parlor (with some, difficulty, from his height, he had to stoop over a bit).
The poor demonness was asleep! And not only that, but there were many an ogling eye upon her figure as she dozed! Shooting a dangerous looking glare at the people, and staff, whose stares lingered much too long for his liking, Polarus finally closed the distance between the two of them, sitting down on the booth's bench next to her. He surveyed the situation for a moment or two, taking the time to push the milkshake a little ways away to avoid getting her booklet wet, moving the plate of half eaten pizza pie to her unoccupied hand's side, before finally actually making any sort of contact with his dearest. The large yet gentle man now moved Zriracha so that she was leaning against his side, head softly positioned against his left side as Polarus took a look at the book the goat-demon had been reading, choosing to occupy himself with attempting to even try and discerning the nigh hither to intelligible gibberish that was Demon sigil on the page as he waited for Zriracha to wake up.
While Polarus did love to tease the one he held the closest, he loved to take care of her even more.
PL: 175,500, True Form active.

In the midst of a dream, Zriracha would awake much later to the sensation of being moved – nuzzling in subconsciously to the warmth of a body next to her. Her senses were still quite dulled by her fatigue but the scent of Polarus was one she was quite familiar with and found herself giving a low rumble in the hollow of her throat as she mumbled, “How long have you been here?” Hoofed legs giving a long, tired stretch under the table as she cracked open her eyes to look at him through a heavy-lidded expression. She didn’t really pay any notice to how long she’d been out or even if she’d caused a scene – not when there was still yet so much to be done and so little time to do it in. His coincidental visit came a quite a timely moment. She eased away from him a moment later, cracking her neck a little as she did so to wake up a little faster. More lucid than before, Zriracha made a cursory look around to see that the diners in the restaurant had seen fit to not look her way – though, it was easy to tell that they were doing their best not to do so on purpose. She cocked her head to the side before looking at Polarus, “Is there a reason that everyone seems to be afraid and would you happen to know anything about that?” She asked with a wry grin on her face. No one appeared to be hurt, so she did not see any reason to look upon him with remonstration in mind. Briefly, she made a bunny-ear of the page she was on before closing the tome and reaching for the melted shake. Her eyes widened before she made a face of disgust, “Oh dear, how long was I out…?” It looked positively molten by this point. Polarus

An amused chuckle could be audibly heard from the much bigger man as he looked down at the slowly awakening Zriracha at his side, finding her seemingly second-nature nuzzling an endearing sight to see to say the least. They haven't had much chance to enjoy their company in more, wholesome, fashion, so this was a welcome change of pace for the normally busy bodied Arcosian noble. Returning his gaze to the book in her hand as the goat-woman inquired as to how long he had been sitting there for, he replied with a warm and tranquil chirp in his voice, "Not too long, I believe. I walked in just recently, perhaps, a few minutes or so ago. On the other hand, though, it looks as though you are the one who has spent a large sum of time here, if the people here are anything to go off of," taking a few glances downward at Zriracha as he spoke.
It did incur his curiosity though, the fact that he found her asleep in the first place- why was she so tired in such an otherwise stress-free atmosphere? He supposed that he had stumbled upon his significant other amidst some sort of work of hers, though he supposed it'd be the gentlemanly thing to do by not prying straightaway and instead tending to whatever she may need first.
A knowing snort now came from within the Frost Demon's bio-mask as the demonness questioned him as to why exactly the rest of the diners around them held a much more stiff atmosphere than what they had begun with, and Polarus spoke on that initially in a jokingly oblivious tone, muttering, "Dearie me, are they now-? It appears I failed to notice that upon my entry."
Shifting to a more, sinceret, choice of vernacular, he continued, attempting to explain what he believed to be, necessary, actions taken to avoid any chance of public humiliation of his dearest, "In all seriousness, however- there were a few, plucky, individuals in our immediate dining area that thought it, humorous, to try and video record yourself in your slumbering state. I, on the other hand, didn't find it quite as quaint. So, in the most polite and untroubling manner that I could think of, I managed to divert their gazes elsewhere."
Now realizing how, possessive, he might be sounding, Polarus was glad he had his mask up to hide his flushing expression, muttering in a now more flustered voice, "I, hope, you don't believe that to be, overprotective, of me to do so. I simply wish for you to be able to sleep soundly without a worry for the work you have ahead of yourself."
"...Speaking of which- it appears you've been here for quite some time, as I stated before," the gargantuan gentleman now stated as he also took a glance at the now utterly melted milkshake before them. "What exactly have you been up to in my absence, Zriracha dearest-? And is there any way I could assist, perhaps? Of course, we both know I am but a novice at best in the magical field, but if there happens to be anything else I am able to do..."

As warm as her heart felt, Zriracha couldn’t help the little scoff of laughter at Polarus’ candid act at playing dumb. While she knew he had quite the sense of humor, she didn’t peg him for the comedic type. It was a breath of a fresh air… and elucidating as she heard of his account that some had thought to record her while sleeping, “Oh? Did they now…?” Her grin was almost deadly as she turned her head to cast a brief look in the direction of the mortals as they didn’t their best to act as if she weren’t a hot topic of discussion. She wasn’t upset, however – which was surprising, even to her. It was hardly a year ago… maybe less, that Zriracha had hated with a passion the way mortals had looked down upon her. Looking at Polarus as he expressed concern over – it was more than enough to move her, evidenced by the softening expression on her face as she looked over his face and wondered how she’d come to be so – dare she say… blessed with such a suitor. It was then that she realized he’d asked a question and the Satyr blinked, coming back into the world with a brief shake of her head, “Wha- me?” She had been working on something, hadn’t she? She glanced down at her book suddenly, the recollection of memories bringing a painful reminder. R-Right, I was searching for a way to develop my spell, Giving a hesitant nod, Zriracha looked back with a strained smile, “Just a little pet project of mine,” She tried to lie, hiding away the truth behind a distracting little smile while lifting a hand to his cheek amorously before slowly dropping it. She wasn’t sure he’d understand her desire to… raise the dead, just in case. But she couldn’t give him nothing, a terrible enough liar as she was, “It’s a complex spell, one that hasn’t been used in centuries for very strong reason. I am… coming into my power and I-,” She looked back at the book, bringing a hand up to graze her fingers over the powerful words as she swallowed thickly, “… want to be able to reconcile any mistake I might make.” She was close, she could tell, but... something slipped through her grasp. With a sigh, she looked back at him and asked almost out of no where, "Have you ever heard of the Queen of Saiyans, Kayen?"Polarus

In all honesty, he wasn't sure if the humans should be more afraid of himself or his dearest- his eyes widening slightly in both amusement and concern as Zriracha began to eye down those of whom who still remained in the area around them in the case that there were still some stragglers who hadn't gotten Polarus' warning. He hoped she didn't hold too much malice toward the mortals, considering they haven't exactly treated her incredibly well in the past either, but thankfully, his worry was for nothing it seemed as she slowly returned her gaze to be fully focused on her suitor. Which was, something he could definitely get used to if the two were to find themselves to be in each other's company more often. Odd, how such a seemingly passionate couple found themselves most of the time divided for outside convictions. But, it mattered not to him at the moment. She was here, with him, and that was well and good enough for the Arcosian.
Though, despite the, delectably, enjoyable feeling the cold conqueror had as Zriracha raised her hand gently onto his cheek, Polarus could feel something was still off below the surface of her unsuspecting smile- eyes narrowing slightly in suspicion as he tried to think of exactly why she would be so secretive. He already had told her that there was no need to lie when within his presence, so seeing her attempt at it once again was a bit concerning.
In immediate response, just before she could fully lower her hand, Polarus- after looking around and making sure no one was watching, he had a reputation to keep after all- attempted to tenderly take it into his own, saying in a softened and warm tone, lowering his head a bit so that he was a bit closer, more face to face with Zriracha, "Whatever you may be working on, so long as it in some way betters my, yours, or Whisker's well-being, I am perfectly alright with. I have no reason to doubt the woman I have decided to court. Trust is, a large part of a relationship, yes?"
If she would allow him to, Polarus would remain holding her hand as she continued, squeezing it as she touched upon the topic of growing into her strength as a means to show continued support. She was a skilled sorceress in her own right, and, well, it wasn't like Polarus was becoming a famed magician anytime soon, so was there really any other choice than to trust her own judgment in the area she reigns supreme within?
Upon the mention of the Pirate Queen of the Saiyans, Kayen, Polarus couldn't resist a slight scowl, muttering, "Yes, I am all too familiar with Kayen. Perhaps, not personally, but, I know of her quite well. I have done my homework, so to speak."
"...does, your work require, her resources, or something of the like...? If, it does.."
Remembering his citing of trust earlier in the conversation, the Arcosian decided to persist in the faith that his trust, and his love, was not misplaced- continuing and saying, "...despite my grievances with her, I will not judge you. I will instead keep an open mind, so long as nothing comes of this that could potentially harm my people again."
His hatred for the recklessness birthed from the Saiyan military was great, yes.
But his love for Zriracha looked to be greater. The question Polarus was looking to answer now was whether or not this would affect his people, or himself at all in the first place. If not, lovely, he didn't hold any qualms then.
If it did, well, it all depended on the nature of the circumstances. But as promised, Polarus would keep an open mind. For her.

The way he held her hand to his face, eliciting an almost imperceptible gasp from her, as he spoke of trust between them… it was such an odd, chilling, feeling but not one that considered to be undesirable. However, as charming as the feeling was, Zriracha caught the negativity that came off of him as he spoke of trusting her - so long as it didn’t involve Kayen hurting his people again. And that, curiously, aligned with her goals just as well as it aligned with what she had to do with Kayen. Specifically, what she hoped it would involve, anyway. Fickle, was the realization that Zriracha had left what Carro referred to as a ‘Blank Check’ for the Kayen to fill. One thing was certain that Zriracha was not like to make the same mistake twice. With a nod, Zriracha looked back to the book, “I will certainly do my best to not allow anyone to hurt, Love. However, this doesn’t… quite have anything to do with that.” Bringing her hand to a page, she flipped back to a few passages she’d finished (and might as well have reviewed all the same). She glanced at him as she pressed a finger to a set of runes, “This is a passage explaining the difference between negative energy and positive energy – similar to Ki, in a manner but it’s the make-up of what many supernatural beings call ‘magic’.” Flipping to the next page, she continued, “-and this passage explains a way to combine those energies in a practice manner.” She swallowed, shrugging a shoulder as she tried to break the point slowly for him, “Negative Energy is what Demons use and Positive is more commonly associated with the Kai, or beings known as ‘Shin-Jin’. Combining the two is… dangerous. However, powerful spells that are beyond the capability of mere magicians are possible if they are harnessed appropriately! Such as becoming immortal, more powerful, and…” She hesitated, biting her lip, “-raising the dead.” She stayed on the passage for a moment before turning the page, “Doing it incorrectly can have devastating effects if not handled with care.” And it didn’t take a genius to understand the illustration of a skull and crossbones. After being safely assured she would try her best at assuring everyone's safety within the matter, it was now Polarus' turn to try and understand what exactly this job of hers entailed. His linear mind causing him a bit of grief as he tried to understand the very much multi-dimensional area of magic that Zriracha began to cite from the pages of the text before them. Nodding as the satyr explained the positive and negative properties of the magic she was researching, and the means of combining them in a hypothetical manner.
Most Arcosians would act quite indignant toward the manner in which Zriracha approached her explanation of the many variables toward Polarus- their snooty personalities most likely inciting some irritation toward the thought of someone knowing more than they. Thankfully, Polarus was not like most of his race. Instead, he was quite engrossed in what Zriracha had to say, the concepts coming to him easily enough for him to put two and two together as she went on, thankfully. The magical powers of both the Kai and the Demon race combining to make one fruitful force sounded quite enticing to accomplish, yet as Zriracha did mention, hard to do. Where would one find a Shinjin and a Demon in the first place willing to pool their resources together to accomplish such a task? Despite the difficulty though, he knew if anyone were to do it, it would most likely be his beloved. She was quite crafty, after all.
But, to be able to raise the dead? Polarus did raise his brow slightly at such a notion. Ignoring the moral debacle that came with such implications, something told him that interrupting the natural circle of life would upset the balance of the universe in some matter. On the other hand, he did come to understand now perhaps the reason why Kayen enlisted her services in the first place.
As a ruler himself, Polarus clearly saw the advantages that would be brought from succeeding in such a venture- A nigh hither to never ending supply of manpower in the form of bringing back those fallen in battle would be an appetizing goal to achieve for any ruler worth their salt. To place such power in the hands of Queen Kayen, though? And what of the user of said spell? Zriracha's book clearly illustrated the risk that came with chasing such a reward. What if, Kami forbid, she did make a mistake, and she was the one to pay for another woman's ambition? Why focus resources on such unfathomable things anyways? He supposed he wouldn't truly know unless he asked Kayen herself, or if Zriracha knew anything about it. Either way, if Zriracha looked upward into Polarus' gaze as he processed this, she would clearly see the consistent worry within his ruby red gaze, before he finally began to open up. Taking one of her hands into one of his own, he squeezed it tightly as he spoke, "Zriracha, this is truly a large task to undertake, if anything happens to you in the midst of performing such a conjuration, I..."
Refusing to break his composed demeanor in public, Polarus lowered his voice to a near whisper, his voice a low rumble as he continued, "...you know I cannot bear to see you hurt. But, I have the utmost faith that if you do somehow track down a willing Shinjin and a subject to practice on, that you will be able to succeed. Just, please, be as safe as you can- and if anything does happen, do not hesitate to call, yes?"
Attempting to regain some of his steadiness, Polarus then asked as he cleared his throat, "That, does beg the question though- where would one find a Shinjin in the first place? They are notoriously known for keeping to themselves, and if history serves correctly, then your race and theirs do not have the greatest relations. Do you have a means of convincing them to assist in your venture?"

It was clear from the way he looked at her that he was concerned; a sentimental but well-received thought on her behalf. As he expressed this concern, the hesitation coming across clearly as fear for her safety, Zriracha allowed him to finish his whispered piece before squeezing his hand back in reassurance. Lowly, she smiled at him as she warmly responded, “Your confidence in me is as powerful as the Makyo Star… thank you. However,” Her smile lost just a bit of its luster, “I am no liar and do not pretend to understand the impossible. I will need a Shin-Jin and fear that is STILL the least of my worries,” She looked down at the book, staring at the foreboding symbol of death that starred her in the face. Her thoughts were so focused on how to bring about this spell through experimentation that she nearly forgot the entire reason she’d put so much effort into it. Fear of destroying what she cared about; either through direct or by proxy because of her association with evil… Zriracha looked up at Polarus as he asked an interesting question and she blinked, her thoughts churning from the negativity for a moment. She was thankful for the distraction, “Finding one isn’t so difficult so long as you know where to look and you have the proper…” Her voice trailed off, smirking with those delightfully devilish fangs, “-bait, let’s say.” Translation: She need only cause a bit of trouble that was worthy of a God to actually appear. Not necessarily difficult, but being that she was actually averse to the idea of causing destruction and calamity to Earth - there lies the real difficulty. She shook her head, “The problem is timing and actually convincing the protectors of Earth not to interfere and hope that my magical trickery is enough to fool even a God. Otherwise,I am more likely to suffer a death at the hands of them than of the sorcery in this book,” She laughed softly, holding the tome up. “As for convincing them - once they see that my destruction was merely illusion, that should hopefully clear up any miscommunication. And then price is the next hurdle to overcome…”She looked at Polarus, reaching for his hand to squeeze it again, “If it consoles you, I would be happy to have your assistance to playing out this little scheme, should the worst come to pass.” There was a lot to do and no doubt she might even have to convince then entire plethora of fighters to assist in her endeavor... unless. She looked at the book, "There is another way. If my own contacts have ever spoken to a Shin-Jin, then I- it's possible to call upon them than orchestrate this entire show." She scoffed with laughter, looking at Polarus with a sly expression, "-then again, that's not nearly as fun, is it?" Polarus

If Polarus were to unsheathe his mask at that very moment, a light flush could be very much visible on his face from Zriracha's kind and soothing words. In his research he knew very well of the Makyo Star and it's relationship with the demon race, so to be compared with something as important to her as that was, quite flattering to say the least. He was soon able to knock his infatuation down a peg though as his concerned pulsed slightly once more as his beloved's smile weakened slightly in strength, nodding knowingly as both came to realize the arduousness of the oncoming task ahead of the two. The problem of the requirement of Shinjin assistance as well as the potentiality of a much more fatal consequence besides the prospect of Kayens disapproval hanging in the air was more than enough to remind the royal of what was at stake. Right as he was about to inquire exactly the process one would need to undertake to even gain the attention of a Shinjin in the first place, Zriracha spoke- his own wily grin appearing underneath his mask as the demonness' face held that delightfully devilish smirk of hers. Of course Zriracha knew of a means of getting into contact with one, what should he have expected-? Though, knowing the nature of this whole operation in the first place anyways, something told him that it was no easy task to undergo. Especially with this, bait, that she had mentioned. He assumed that she meant more figuratively than literal bait, but, what could she, or even the two of them do, that would incite the presence of such a being? As she dove more in-depth into the difficulties that came with such a plan, Polarus began to understand more and more. They needed to cause a bit of trouble to get the Shinjin concerned enough to step in. The scale of such destruction would have to be massive though, Shinjin only step into the matters of mortal beings when they deem it necessary to do so, and even if Zriracha's illusionary magic did manage to fool the watchful eyes of the so-called watchmen of the universe, keeping both Earth's defenders at bay as well as attempting to calm the most likely angered Shinjin that they would have tricked are two large roadblocks for them to detour around.
While she wouldn't be able to see the sly smile underneath his mask, Zriracha could most definitely see it in his gaze as he looked down at her, saying in an amused tone, "I doubt I would have let you go through with it any other way. Of course I will be helping you with this plan of yours. What kind of better half would I be if I let my beloved go through such struggle alone, yes? Besides, you'll need someone holding off the potential leagues of Earthly defenders coming in droves to defend their homeland, either through diplomatic or more.."
A more intense look flashed across his face as he continued, "Physical, means."
His expression became much more relaxed as Zriracha attempted to cut the tension a bit with a more lighthearted remark, a slight snigger coming from Polarus' lips as he merely pulled Zriracha closer to him, saying in a teasing tone, "And you always do love a good show, do you not? I would be lying if I didn't wish to see the extent of your magical ability through such a stunt. But.."
Taking the sweethearted path once again, he added with a bit of a lower tone, "..if it is the safer of the two paths, I would not mind taking the less eventful road. You are already putting yourself in enough danger, what with attempting the near impossible that, upon failure, could lead to your own demise. Whatever path that leads to your continued safety is the one I won't hesitate to follow you down."

Zriracha raised a slight eyebrow at Polarus’ choice of words, taking special note of what he would ‘allow’ - though she imagined he meant it as only a companion compelled by concern might. It were these moments that clashed with the outwardly intimidating appearance of the Arcosian prince; a particular appeal of dichotomy that Zriracha couldn’t help being attracted to. Coarse but kind? Powerful but unwilling to harm unnecessarily? And yet - he made it clear that he wouldn’t abandon her should she decide to embark on the more risky route of causing calamity and chaos - however fake it was. To a Demon… it was a sign of a true connection. Of love, she’d dare say. With a slight chuckle, Zriracha grinned, “I do love a good show. Who wouldn’t? Some may not appreciate or respect a little harmless fun now and then, but I digress…” She gave a single-shouldered shrug, “A Shin-Jin must be found somehow. I’m sure it won’t be too hard,” She reached for the book and closed it, making sure to save the page she was on before holding it up and dismissing it to the nether of her pocket dimension. With the book, and her notes, safely stored away Zriracha could focus on something a bit more important at this moment: Her companion. Pulling her hand under her head, she rested her chin above them as she gazed at him with a loving gleam in her eye, “I’ve had a nap and have done plenty of studying for one day. With your company, I think I’d like to take a proper break and revisit something I believe we talked about. As I recall-” She cocked her head to the side, “We’ve made our feelings clear to one another, have we not?” To her, this question was more of a formality - a confirmation. She’d made her feelings quite clear to him and if Polarus’ show of machismo was any indication… he was keen on her as well. “I was thinking,” She began, giving a little bit of suspense before finishing, “What are your thoughts on… a formal union of sorts?” It was marriage without the word marriage, but would Polarus understand the ‘between-the-lines’ implication? She waited, curious as to what his answer would be or if he had a cultural equivalent to such a thing. Polarus

The fearsome yet fair royal looked down at his significant other with an entertained expression on his face as she raised an eyebrow in slight inquisition. While she was most likely the most dearest thing to him besides his people and thus he treated her as more than just an equal, the choice in vernacular he used to address the problems and or people that they would see themselves pitted against would most likely not get the same special treatment. He still believed themselves to be above most threats, so he addressed them as such, with the utmost confidence that he would be able to dictate exactly what he would and would not allow to come in contact with his beloved. Although, seeing as what they were delving into was undeniably magically based, the universe may or may not feel inclined to throw something out of left field that he would be unable to deflect.
Magic or not, though, Polarus was prepared to do all he could to keep the one person who made him feel the ways he did, safe. Indeed, a sign of true connection, that looked to be more than reciprocated from Zriracha as well.
His eyes remained steadied on the demonness in front of him as she did away with her work for the day, a bit of a boyish glee now filling his heart as he realized this meant the Arcosian would have her undivided attention for at least a little while. All work and no play makes anyone a bit duller than they ought to be, so he was glad it seemed as though it was their time to play. As mentioned before, it had been quite a while since the two last had any time for each other exclusively, so Polarus was going to make the most of it.
And it seemed as though Zriracha intended to do so as well, the tender glimmer within her gaze sending his cheeks ablaze- a familiar feeling, he was now finding it to be, it always seemed to happen at least once or twice whilst within her, stimulating, presence. Listening intently, hanging on every word, Polarus' posture shifted to be much more formal on the topic of their relationship- keen interest on his face as he wondered exactly what would be amiss this time, if there was anything wrong-?
Polarus found himself instead quite flustered instead of worried- his pupilless eyes somehow now appearing more wide than they usually do in pleased surprise as she inquired about a means of, officializing, their love, per se. Thankfully, when it came to Arcosians, their courting procedures and such were awfully similar to every other race in the universe's- while they were a race known for being extravagant, the process of marriage was one thing they kept relatively simple and similar to most other people's.
So, with a chirpy hum coming from his mask, Polarus responded to Zriracha by wrapping both arms around her waist and pulling her right into him- positioning her so that she was leaning practically, yet comfortably, right on top of him as he leaned against the wall behind him, speaking with a blissful tone, "I was wondering when you were going to ask you know- when we were to, tie the knot, as the humans would say? I'm not sure how the denizens of the demon realm go about their courtships- that wasn't something I was expecting to have the need to research before arriving on Earth- but most Arcosians do keep our marriage procedures relatively straightforward. The affair, the locale, and the company- can be as extravagant or as simple as you'd like. I am still royalty after all."
Upon the mentioning of company, though, that did pique Polarus' interest in another subject loosely tied to it, with the (hopefully) future newlywed asking with a curious voice as he began to brush through Zriracha's hair a bit with his right hand, "Although, this, does beg the question- do you, erm, happen to have any family I should know of? Anyone I, also, have to prove myself to? Perhaps, a father mother duo I need to worry myself about-?"
Polarus may love Zriracha very dearly, but he wasn't about to undermine the love of any potential family she may have either. Family, and potentially future family members were important to account for.

With a happy little rumble in the back of her throat at being brought close, Zriracha would grin up at the taller Arcosian while they just basked in the other’s presence as if they already were a newly-wed couple. If anyone had told Zriracha months ago that she would be canoodling it up with another of the mortal plane in the middle of a restaurant like a teenage adolescent, she would surely have gutted them on the spot as her father had taught her to do. Thankfully, Polaris and her had gone at a pace that was amicable to both of them and it had left her… yearning. Something she didn’t ever expect to happen with anyone else after her vow to become a leader for her people. As he explained that his people had a pretty straight-forward method for ‘tying the knot’ so to speak, Zriracha caught the question that came to his mind and cocked her head to the side with interest. Only mildly distracted by the soothing gesture of a hand through her hair, Zriracha took a moment to think of her response as she allowed her head to lean into his hand. “Mmm,” She purred, “I do have a family. A large one at that,” Not one to be outdone, even as she continued to explain as if she was speaking of the weather, Zriracha brought one of her hands up to give a mocking little scratch his the Arcosian’s chin as her other hand massaged the shoulder beneath her palm, “Proving yourself to my family is my responsibility, love. Given that I have chosen you, my family will already have most of their questions answered upon seeing you. Very basic things, such as,” She counted off the necessary aspects her mother and father demanded, rolling her eyes with mock boredom even as she smiled at the memory, “‘Are they strong? Do they desire a family? Will they challenge the Ruler of Demon for the title of King?’ To Chakkapak Demons, these are what you would call ‘bare minimums’.” Yet, she didn’t quite answer his question fully, elucidating further, “My mother and Father are… more titles of honor than any sort of blood parentage so bloodlines aren’t really a ‘thing’ for my clan. However, that does mean that I care for approximately a hundred other siblings,” Her confident smile lost a bit of its luster, sheepishly grinning at Polarus, “Will that be a problem?”
If Polarus was worried about the potential conflict and difficulty of being expected to challenge the Ruler of Demons, Zriracha would be quick to assuage any fears that came as she quickly added, "I-If you don't want to attempt a coup with my clan against the King, there is no actual pressure to do so! The executive decision lies with my Father until we have come to the decision ourselves and it is only until I fight for my Father's place as the Head of the clan would we ever try to plan assault on the King. There's a-" She gestured in the air dismissively with her hand, "-protocol to these things."

On the opposite side of the very same coin, the glacial gentleman was also reveling in the situation he now found himself in when just months ago he had been fueled by vengeance to take this trip to Earth in the first place. Yet, now he found himself in the arms of another, an other that he truly found himself completely enamored with. And they weren't even married yet! Love was most certainly one of the last things Polarus found himself having success with, but as he's found time and time again in life, Mistress Fate had quite the strange course of events planned out for him. As a younger man, he never expected the emotional and mental walls he had built from bottom up deep within to be opened up to anyone but his closest family members, but it seemed as though present Polarus had proven him dead wrong. And he was, happy, with that.
The warmth of Zriracha curling up into him whilst purring her own delight aloud made the Arcosian fizzle up inside, like a carbonated Earth beverage when shaken once too many times before opened. It was an undeniable thing at this point, the man adored her, and she adored him- a perfect match if he had ever seen one. Which was why he had been, initially, unnerved by the idea of having to introduce, and assumingly subsequently have to prove himself to Zriracha's family members- while he was sure he would be able to perform and pass whatever trial they'd give with flying colors (unless it had to do with magic, which also was a worrying thought), the ambiguity of said trials did still unsettle him slightly. Thankfully, though, as Zriracha began to explain- with Polarus emitting a contented rumble as she scratched at the underside of his chin- his doubts would slowly begin to be eased, as the things that Zriracha's family saw most importantly in a significant other for her were things he would be easily be able to provide answers to. At least, until the bit about attempting a coup with the Chakkapak demon clan and challenging the overall leader of the demon clans for total and uncontested power. His eyes did widen a bit in surprise at that last statement, all movement now being ceased from the Arcosian as he took time to process exactly what they considered as, "bare minimum". Polarus wasn't even aware that the Demon Realm had some sort of organized governing body, much less someone leading all these powers under one iron fist. Not only did that sound, albeit, impressive, considering the chaotic and tumultuous reputation that the Demon Realm had to the rest of the mortal realms, and the thought of one demon and their clan conquering it all and somehow managing to keep them all in line near ridiculous yet all the more spectacular in nature- but it also sounded like quite the dangerous venture. Perhaps not as dangerous as, say, attempting to dupe an angelic deity with illusionary magic, but still quite the treacherous proposition. After all, if they were able to rule for as long as it sounds like they've been able to, who's to say one extra body (even if that body was Polarus') would be able to help in prevailing against them? His gaze only narrowed further in confusion and bewilderment as now apparently this large family of Zriracha's was much larger than he had originally thought. Maybe five or six siblings, extended family, and then friends who might as well be family due to their closeness with the members- but one hundred other siblings? Polarus would be lying if he didn't find it at least slightly dumbfounding, in several ways.
Realizing the embarrassment he could put Zriracha through if he didn' at least try to take such facts with relative stride though, Polarus immediately shook himself back to form, posture straightening, eyes refocused, and once again, somewhat, levelheaded, the Arcosian patted his demonness gently on the head in reply as she attempted to try and comfort her other half with the reassurance that there was at least a due process to be followed before moving forward with such plans. With Polarus managing a chuckle as he said in a surprisingly collected and, even poised intonation, "While I must say, this was not at all what I was expecting- I suppose our relationship can be described as such, yes? Do not fret my dear, it appears that I will be able to provide with every need that they may have for someone who would try to court their beloved daughter. And while some things will be a tad bit more-"
A slight glance at the ground to gather the right words stopped him for a moment before he refocused on Zriracha, continuing, "Difficult, I did not come this far with you to let you be denied from me that easily. It will be quite entertaining to meet and get to know the entirety of your family, as well as perhaps even assist them with the taking of the crown and their rightful throne. And besides,"
A much more lighthearted gaze now was visible on the Arcosians face as he finished, stating, "What kind of suitor would I be if I allowed you to try to take control of a whole realm without my assistance? They will need to call a thousand of their brethren before they dare to get past me and to you. Which, if your familial numbers are anything to go off of, may be possible, but that's besides the point!"
"Point is, no matter what they may throw at me, if it means I gain their blessing to hold your hand in holy- ironic- matrimony, I will do whatever they wish for me to do. They sound like quite the caring lot, though, so I am more than sure we will, as the humans say, hit it off. "
One question did still linger in his mind though, and he did not hesitate to ask as he added, "Though, now that you have mentioned it, do you, well, we, have plans on settling down one day? Would your family allow it? I, of course assume it would be, long after our thirst for travel and adventure is over and done with, but..."

Relieved that Polarus wasn’t intimidated by her clan’s more lofty goals, Zriracha released a soft sigh - elated that Polarus’ confidence wasn’t in question. In truth, she held no doubts as to his ability to keep her family satisfied. Were there better candidates? Possibly. The universe was vast and the pull of the fates were spontaneous, but Zriracha was grateful to have found one that was built strong and with conviction. As he expressed interest in meeting her family, the Demon laughed softly at her own memories of how her siblings tended to be like. “Oh, you will enjoy being with the younger ones if chaos is what drew you to me,” She grinned, leaning forward to press her forehead to his in a sly but affectionate manner, “They’ll surely drive you insane.” She left it up to her ‘Promised’ to interpret that as a threat or a guarantee. With an insolent peck on his cheek, Zriracha leaned away from him and held out a hand. Recalling the taste and texture of the milk-shake and with magic to spare for the summon, Zriracha materialized a small cup of the milk-shake and gave it a sip. “Mm,” She grunted, pulling it away, “I’m never going to tire of those.. ‘Milk-shakes’. Truly, a ground-breaking dessert. I’m sure Patrona would agree,” Before she turned back to him, continuing as if she hadn’t just ignored him for a drink out of thirst or just being an ambivalent tease, “As for settling down? I have no intent to do so. Un...less I am misinterpreting that that phrase means.” She cocked her head to the side, suddenly just a bit more serious. “Does that mean to stay in one place forever? If so, I don’t think such a life would suit me. Something just-”Zriracha grimaced, looking off to the side as an odd fear of feeling trapped nearly overtook her heart. A family was one thing; encouraged and beautiful and full of new and interesting experiences everyday. The idea of staying to one planet, one family, one life amongst lives felt wasteful and unfulfilling. “-doesn’t feel right about that.” One day, likely many years from now, Polaris would perish to the will of the Universe either through natural causes or from battle. The same, in terms of battle, was said for her. But Demons were different; unconcerned about keeping oneself… exclusive. An important question pulled at her, prompting the Satyr woman to look at Polarus with a slowly falling expression of sorrow, “... Do you know what forever feels like? What that means?” At a staggeringly young age of 200, Zriracha couldn’t boast knowing the importance herself, but… her Father was eons old and her Mother, not far from that. She’d seen the look of distance and worry in their eyes. Of the miles-long stare of someone that has seen, experienced, and regretted many events in their life. “I think we many need to talk about… what marriage means to each other.”
