NAME: Violin
SPECIES: Namekian - Warrior Caste
AGE: Thirteen (Earth Years) / Thirty-Six (Namekian Years)
GENDER: Male
STARTING PLANET: Earth
APPEARANCE -

BACKGROUND: Even the most peaceful species among the stars will have outliers, and Namekians are no exceptions. The Mazoku clan - pitching between peaks of power and slumps of persecution across the ages - was a clear example of such a difference. They were considered demonic and twisted, different at their very roots from the Namekians that populated the rest of their home planet. While a solid peace currently exists between the two sects of Namekians, a rift in culture and opinion certainly still exists. Violin was originally the kin of a warrior Namekian, the defenders tasked with protecting Namek and its' people from threats both foreign and domestic. His village bordered on the edge of the Northern Scar, a terrible land of destruction that houses its fair share of Mazoku and their history - including an infamous gravesite to the clan.
Generally, even the warriors are advocates for non-violence, peacekeepers first and foremost over fighters. The ideology of most Namekians revolves around harmony with spirits, magic, and the land itself - to do violence is a horrid action that must be taken only as a last resort. When he was but a young Namek, Violin followed this doctrine religiously. For some time he was seen as the role-model for future warriors to follow, one devoted to the balance between peace and justice. His village was small and remote, far from any important epicenter regarding the culture or treasures of Namek. And treasures it had, for time passed, and more and more foreigners came from the stars not to visit but to seize the mystical Dragon Balls. To abuse Porunga's power and goodwill to their own ends constantly, without pause. Their species' peace was exploited, their kindness turned against them, and it was inevitable that the Namekians would suffer from it. Was it a desire for peace that led them to this state... or simply a fear? Inaction lingering among them that was simply veiled by non-violence?
Violin couldn't bear to see his people continue on like this... and so was one of the first in his village to strike back against a hostile force. An Alien from the Fleet had arrived, demanding tribute - though whether it was for the organization or a front from themselves would never be known. At the first sign of violence, he drove the invader away. What should have been regarded as a simple heroic act was scorned instead, the young warrior berated for his nastiness in jumping to violence over anything else. Confused and frustrated, Violin took a path of self-exile. To truly test his devotion and will, the Namekian entered the realm of Demons from the malefic portal deep within the Mazoku Graves, banishing himself to the dimension for many Earth years. It was a chaotic, evil, and bloody journey - the laws of order flipped as good was evil and evil was good. It was here Violin honed both his combat skills and skills of restraint, resolve turning into that of steel as it refused to buckle against the horrid tides.
Yet as his time of exile came to a close, he learned of terrible news. Namek and its' people were gone, murdered, forgotten by the people of the galaxy at large. What thanks was this, then? That Earth and their people were so concerned with their own issues that they gladly take help from Namek but give none in return? The more he learned and heard from assorted rumors, news, and books back in the living realms the more resentful he grew. Once again, the Namekians' good nature was used against them and brushed aside. No more. Namek would be restored, even if it cost him his life, and this time... he would share the lessons he learned. There was to be no more unfounded trust, welcoming peace, non-violent stance towards invaders. Namek and its' people would steel themselves or else they would surely be swept away again.
TECHNIQUES - Technique pre-approval up to 80,000 PL
Finger Beam [A1]: A single low-powered yellow beam fired from either of Violin’s index fingers. Deals 33% PL in damage.
Vacuum Wave [UA2]: A sweeping finger beam with more power pumped into it, this technique is capable of either dealing direct damage to an enemy or causing an explosion in the air itself. Deals 66% PL in damage.
Explosive Demon Wave [MA3]: A bluish-red attack in which Violin holds out one arm, gathering power while using his other arm to brace and aim. Deals 100% PL in damage.
Special Beam Cannon [SIG]: (Force) A variant of Violin’s beam cannon which is charged via the user holding two fingers to their forehead in deep concentration. When fired, the main attack is accompanied by a set of double coil beams. It pierces 50% of an enemy barrier and strikes with 100% PL.
Masoken [VA3]: A combination of a finger beam and exploding wave, Violin first fires a finger beam to try and provoke an after-image dodge, after which he has a chance to land the follow-up exploding wave. Deals 66% PL in damage, and has a change to strike again if dodged.
Beam Cannon [VA2]: A ray of Ki fired from one of Violin’s hands, it is specially crafted to pierce an enemy’s defense at the cost of being less powerful overall. Deals 33% PL in damage and ignores one-half of an enemy barrier.
Concentrated Beam Cannon [VA3]: A more powerful beam cannon, it is accompanied by a spiraling secondary coil around the main attack which helps its attack power. Deals 66% PL in damage and ignores one-half of an enemy barrier.
Kiai [B1]: A simple ki-laced shout or mouth beam that is designed to intercept and neutralize enemy attacks, guarding for 33% PL. If the barrier is broken, further mitigations are applied.
Ki Sphere [UB2]: A small bubble of red Ki which encompasses Violin, protecting him from attacks with 66% PL. If the barrier is broken, further mitigations are applied.
Energy Shield [MB3]: A pulsating dome of red energy that requires a great deal of concentration to maintain. Protects Violin with 100% PL. If the barrier is broken, further mitigations are applied.
Zanzoken [SU1]: A concentrated surge of Ki which greatly increases the user’s speed, allowing them to seemingly teleport out of the way of attacks or behind an enemy. Dodges with 100% PL, but fails against any attacks more powerful than it.
Energy Sensing [UT]: The simple ability to roughly gauge a living organism’s location and Power Level. This fails on Androids and Aliens with anti-sense.
Telepathy [UT1]: An ability common to many mystically inclined Namekians, it allows Violin to speak with another via mental messages across the entire planet he is on. The listener can choose to block him off.
Iron Will [SIG]: Once per thread Violin can tap into his inner power to endure, bracing against an attack and reducing its total PL by 33%.
