Flip's PL: 66,877
Flip had been expecting this, ever since he laid claim to Beppa. Ever since Riis had turned up, warning him and offering an alliance. To ignore it would be beyond stupidity. And as he had worked to unite the remaining Beppan factions under his control, head been planning for it. Things were going smoothly. Most had wised up and decided to join him. Only a couple needed to be beaten into submission, simple task in and of itself.
But now she was here. Kayen had arrived on Beppa.
Reports had shown she had brought others with her, including Auber, and one Flip recognized as Zriracha. At least that was a couple of friendly faces in the crowd. Flip was a little surprised Kayen hadn't immediately sought him out. Well, itjust gave Flip time to prepare.
He sent out a messenger to invite Kayen and her entourage to the Big Gamble. Flip felt more at home on his ship. Besides, it was much better for entertaining guests. He was currently sitting in his office, plotting things out. A good meal would help, some polite discussion, and then to the meat of the matter. Hopefully they can get through this in a civilized manner. From what he heard of Kayen, she was a woman with a good head on her shoulders.
He had Keech, Shymer and Gleem waiting by to greet them when they arrived, whether by Kayen's own ship or by transport. Flip always wanted to give the best first impressions to his guests, especially important ones.
Though he appeared cool on the surface, Flip would be lying if he said he wasn't nervous. But at the same time, quite excited. This would be Flip's first step into the big leagues. Now let's see how it went.

Kayen was rather amused when Barb gave her the news of a messenger arriving at the Stormbreaker, Barb had gotten them to give her the message to pass on to Kayen and it was a fairly simple one, an invitation to the ‘Big Gamble’ Flip Fortuna’s ship-casino hybrid, it was easy enough for Kayen to know that this was Flip effectively taking the initiative and trying to have some measure of control of the situation, and she could certainly respect it. Part of her WAS tempted to throw a wrench into the works and decline and show up to talk when SHE wanted to, but she was fairly certain Nero would get testy on that and it would do little to help get things sorted out well for both of them. And so Kayen sent out a message along to her companions informing them to get ready for the big meeting because they were headed out! The Stormbreaker would lift off from where it had landed on Beppa to arrive at the Big Gamble itself, once they arrived Kayen would make her way to the ships exit, Barb following along as once she found out they would be boarding the casino ship she became QUITE a bit more interested in joining in on the fun. “Everyone who wants in on this meeting make your way to me now, we’re heading out” Kayen’s message rang out to the scouters of all those she had invited along the ship, and for those without scouters to the intercom system in their room.

She’d been appraised of the planet along the way, having heard it from everyone in their own way whom they were going to meet and Zriracha was – for the lack of a better term – buzzing with intrigue. She recalled meeting Flip some time ago and had even been invited to the ‘Big Gamble’ to enjoy what humans did the most. It had been beyond riveting and she was excited to return the ship. What was a little worrying, however, was… meeting her friend and possibly requiring to resort to coercive measures.
She could do that.
She didn’t want to.
Arriving at the entrance to the Stormbreaker, Zriracha was still yawning as she’d just finished a nap that had her fur twitching with oversensitivity, “Good evening or… whatever time it is in space, Kayen,” She glanced towards one of the windows, a grimace on her face as one of the more annoying aspects of not being on Earth was the perpetual night that seemed to follow them around. She looed back at the Saiyan, “Flip Fortuna, correct? I should let you know that we’ve met before. An odd but charismatic fellow that allowed me to traverse his ship for the first time. It was a-”
How could she describe her first time being in space?
“-disorienting experience. On that note...” Zriracha crossed her arms, a confused expression on her face as she didn’t quite understand what Kayen wanted. “What is it you’d like to accomplish with Mr. Fortuna? Is it… an alliance? Or are we going to persuade him to work for us?” Persuade being a loosely used term, Zriracha only truly knew that Kayen desired to rule all of the galaxy and – while an admirably ambitious goal – she was only here based on the repayment of a deal. Chaos and order were not static and hardly controlled. In any other circumstance, being the agent of uncontrolled order that she was… Kayen and her might have become enemies.

Things seemed to be working out in an interesting way. The sudden arrival of Kayen and her entourage had left Ticoga feeling like he'd brought unwanted, dangerous attention to himself. There had been a number of understandably incredulous looks thrown his way. The pirates were one thing, but the mixture of surprise and perplexity openly shown by the vessel's guards was another.
None of them voiced against Ticoga's presence aboard the ship, but it certainly seemed to create a small buzz from the general crew. He couldn't blame them - an Arcosian being seen aboard the Saiyan Queen's personal starship, and not acting negatively towards any of the Saiyans, must have been a tad confusing. After having been somewhat interrogated back on the derelict vessel, Ticoga had some questions for Kayen's allies, but they could wait. For the time being, Ticoga had become rather curious about the real reason the Queen and her allies had come to this remote part of the galaxy.
Through mutterings and overheard conversations, Ticoga gathered that they were heading to the nearby planet Beppa. There had been various talk of unconfirmed rumor that Beppa had been subject to a power play, that resulted in the world falling under leadership of an offworlder. Whether it was a faction of the old World Trade Fleet, or nobles from Arcose, was unknown. Earth's government virtually never stretched beyond its own star sector, so that rules them out. It was very likely, at least to Ticoga, that unhappy Arcosians would be the source of this disturbance.
But, alas, his guesses were proven wrong. They were going to meet a being who a couple of Kayen's entourage had already made acquaintance with. Ever so curious, Ticoga chooses to bide his time for the trip, taking in the Stormbreaker's interior. Eventually, they land on Beppa's ruinous surface, but it isn't long after that, that Kayen's voice is heard over the intercom.
At first, he planned to ask the Queen if he may attend, but Kayen sent out a general 'come who may' command. Taking the invitation at face value, Ticoga heads for the boarding ramp after the Stormbreaker finds a new location to set down. As he walks, Ticoga sees another vessel nearby - presumably belonging to the one they were to meet. The Queen and the being who identified herself as Zriracha walk ahead of Ticoga, who clasps his hands together behind his back and silently follows.
He listens to Zriracha's questions, and gets a sense that she wasn't particularly thrilled with the possible situation. The fact that she seemed out of the loop in regards to Kayen's specific intentions came as a mild surprise.
Perhaps these beings are not as strongly allied as their behavior before suggests. Ticoga thinks privately. He silently decides to watch, looking for further signs of discontent or lack of a unifying understanding. These things were useful, but only in the future. The relatively young Arcosian decides to just see how things play out, and possible learn from them.

[Time to move this along.]
As the group stepped off of the Stormbreaker, through the tunnel connecting the two ships and into the Big Gamble proper, they would be greeted by the sight of a large bird man in a suit, along with two female aliens, one blue and one yellow.
Greetings! the bird man spoke up, "I am Keech, head financial advisor for the Fortuna Syndicate. These are Shymmer and Gleem." The two bowed to the party. "Mr Fortuna has instructed us to greet you and escort you to his office without delay." Keech continued. The blue alien, Gleem, gestured down a hall. "Right this way please,"[/b] she said in a soft, demure voice.
The Fortuna trio lead the group through the ship, towards an elevator. No scenic route this time. Keech felt it best to get them to Flip as soon as possible. Still, the group were granted a good view of some of the casino floors as they made their way up to the upper levels. Another brisk walk down a corridor later, and they were in front of a large set of double doors, leading into Flip's office. "A brief moment," Keech said, before stepping into the room. Any sounds from within were muffled by the soundproofing.
A second later, Keech stepped out, nodding to Shymmer and Gleem. The two aliens nodded, opening both doors to allow them inside.
Flip's office was quite large, easily enough to accommodate the party. At one end, before a large window overlooking the landscape of Beppa, was Flip's desk, the crime lord himself sitting there and smiling at the group. "Queen Kayen of Raiti Zacro, a pleasure to finally meet you at last." He rose to his feet, gesturing to the chairs set out. [Colir=orange]"Please, have a seat. Would you like something to drink? Our meal is still being prepared, but that's no reason not to enjoy a little something in the meantime."[/color]

“It’s whatever time is convenient” Kayen said with a grin, she had never actually put much thought into the time of day during space travel, some of the rooms on the Stormbreaker had windows that created a sort of artificial time of day based on whatever major planet was nearest day and night cycle but most of the crew were so used to the absence that they did not bother having it applied to their rooms. “You’re familiar with him? Interesting. That should make this fun, maybe having you along will keep him from doing something he’ll regret” Kayen said with a chuckle, Kayen was curious on what was so disorienting about her trip on Flips ship, was it something to do with Zri’s lack of familiarity with most of the ‘mortal world’ technology or was there something particularly strange about the Big Gamble? “What I’m looking to accomplish is to keep people from thinking they can muscle in on my territory. If that means bringing him on as an ally or partner to some degree that works with me, but if he’s stubbornly opposed to making good life choices I’ll probably kick his ass and shove his ship out of my space. Auber seems familiar with him as well so unless he’s actively offensive I’ll let him live” Kayen said with a shrug, she was still iffy on letting him live if he declined what would be in her mind a VERY generous offer. Kayen noted Ticoga following along was was pleasantly surprised to see the Arcosian joining in, he was a bit of an oddball to her but not unpleasantly so, Kayen gave the Arcosian a nod of greeting while awaiting a response from Zri as the Big Gamble and Stormbreaker connected to one another allowing the group to proceed forward. “How's it going Keech, these two are with me. More might be along later, anyone who makes their way from my ship with a power above ten thousand is properly with ME. Some of my crew below that level might check out what you’ve got going on since if I remember correctly this place is a casino and more? They’ve got orders to act right, if anyone DOESN'T let me know and I’ll throw them out an air lock” Kayen said with a wink, one might think the wink was to indicate a joke but Kayens tone certainly did nothing to suggest that. “Flip Fortuna, you’re the one that took Knutts right? Impressive that you’ve held onto it” Kayen said deciding to at least start with being somewhat pleasant, keeping control of Knutts WAS an achievement. “I’ll take whatever you’ve got that's strongest. Nothing quite works the way it used to but It’s worth a try” Kayen said with another grin, the one truly miserable thing about growing as strong as she was was how effective her metabolism was, it took a truly prolific amount of alcohol to outpace it for her.

Keep him from doing something he’ll regret, hm? Sounds like a challenge to me, Zriracha thought with an amused smile on her face, just before listening to the Kayen’s intentions. It wasn’t far from her assumptions that she wanted Fortuna to be wise about his presence in her territory, even going so far as to strong-arm him into leaving – if necessary. Zriracha chuckled at the cavalier manner in which Kayen mentioned ‘kicking his ass out of space’, and offering a slight response, “Quite a fair and generous offer, I say,” As they were approached by the Ticoga and the ships connected, Zriracha would also offer a nod to the Arcosian. “Are you well? I must express surprise at your accompaniment, my friend,” She offered, cocking her head to the side at Ticoga. Since their interaction on the ships just prior to this, she’d felt a little more comfortable with his presence and didn’t hesitate to chime in with, “-if you’d like to see what I meant by ‘de-escalation’ before, then I recommend watching me,” Before following it up with a wink. Following along, Zriracha walked with an air of pride as she took in the familiar and exciting sight of the gambling ship – briefly contemplating a small reprieve afterwards to check out the arena as she had done before when all was said and done. Once they were inside Flip’s office, the view of Beppa below breathtaking even from her distance at the door, Zriracha would smile at Flip as he offered a drink to the Saiyan woman. Briefly, she chimed in, “I shall have a glass or two as well, if you wouldn’t mind. While I doubt you have anything as strong as Infernal Spirits, I am somewhat of a connoisseur of ethanol delights.” With that, Zriracha would allow the rest of conversation to progress at Flip and Kayen’s pace – keeping to herself unless asked or forcefully involved. When Ticoga receives nods from both Zriracha and Queen Kayen to acknowledge his presence, the Arcosian places his right palm over his sternum and returns their nods with a polite bow of his head. The other two move onward once the Stormbreaker connects to the other vessel, and Ticoga silently follows behind the Queen at a respectful distance. To his surprise, Zriracha turns to him to speak.
"I am rested and well, Lady Zriracha, thank you for your consideration." Ticoga replies with a smile. "Her Majesty called for an accompaniment of her subordinates on their own discretion; I hope to provide a symbolic purpose for this conference."
He doesn't verbally reply to Zriracha's offer to witness her way to de-escalate a possible problem, but he returns her wink with a smile. They are soon greeted by a trio of aliens, the leading being introduces the three of them. Ticoga says nothing in return, but offers a polite bow of his head as a response - he knew better than to speak out of turn. Even if Kayen was unlike other Lords or Royalty, it was still only proper etiquette for him to only speak when spoken to directly. This meeting was ultimately between Kayen and this world's new ruler.
Ticoga follows quietly, listening intently to each person as they converse. However, the interior of the new ship was not at all what Ticoga was expecting - he was completely taken with the colors and sounds of the vast rooms they were led through on their way to the conference room. Ticoga had to consciously work not to stare at the various machines and tables surrounded by beings doing what he surmised must be gambling, a pastime that he'd only ever heard of and never witnessed. It took even more concentration to ensure his gawking didn't cause him to get accidentally left behind.
Eventually, however, they leave the casinos and head down a corridor and finally to a large set of doors. Ticoga finds himself staring at the doors, mostly looking at the carvings that form strange curves and turns. He barely registers that Keech had entered the room and left them in the hall. Ticoga snaps out of his stupefaction and follows Kayen and Zriracha into a spacious office.
Ticoga chooses to stand at a short distance behind and to the left of Kayen, clasping his hands behind his back. It was only natural - he is not the one that will be holding the discussion as a subordinate of the Kingdom. Hoping to not come across as rude, Ticoga does speak when Flip Fortuna offers drinks.
"If by chance you stock Arcose Shiraz, I would please like a spot of that." Ticoga replies. He'd never actually drank before, but he'd always heard Nobles requesting that drink often. He could have said something simple, like water, but there was a chance he could unintentionally insult their host. And the last thing he wanted to do was make the Kingdom look shameful in the presence of Kayen.

He supposed today was the day, was it not? The day that Flip Fortuna would make a choice. Of course, before that, there was no reason they couldn't have a meal and some drinks, that was something Auber would be looking forward to. The other would be if Mr. Fortuna would play to what they agreed on.
Stepping out of the Stormbreaker and into the tunnel, Auber followed the the Ki signatures of his fellow crewmembers to an elevator, which he simply decided to use without anyone's permission, after all, if they tried to question him, he'd simply mention Kayen and they'd leave him alone lest they botch diplomacy.
Auber was quite familiar with the Big Gamble already, having been privy to it once, but since he had hardly the time to explore the entire ship on his first encounter with the crime lord, he'd only found it useful to mark down the office and the general lobby. Good thing he did.
Arriving at the office just in time for Flip to offer drinks, Auber would reply, "I'll take Brenchian Scotch if you have it." Auber plastered a polite smile and taking a seat alongside his crew members, glancing at each one and nodding to them respectfully, including the Arcosian Ticoga.

Flip smiled at Kayen's words. He had long heard that she was, well, a bit of a bitch. She seemed quite civil with her words. "Oh, I did more than just hold onto it," he said, with pride in his voice, "I turned it into a well oiled crime paradise!" he gave a laugh, before smiling at Kayen. "But that's small potatoescompared to your accomplishments. Raiti Zacro, Vegeta, Arcose and the Brench Gemini? Why, you've been far more successful in the expansion department by far!"
When the talk of drink came up, he had expected the ladies to want something strong. They looked like the sort. He smiled at Ziracha's words about Infernal Spirits. "Well, I certainly hope I can provide. I should see if the Demon Realm's open to do a little business in the future." he gave a small chuckle. "In the meantime, let's see how a couple of Giant Killers do for you. Strongest drink we've got." At the Arcosian's question about Arcose Shiraz, Flip smiled. "As a matter of fact, we do."
At that point, Auber came into the room, ordering his own drink. Flip sat back in his seat. "Ah, Auber, so nice of you to join us. Of course. And I'll take a mint julip for myself."By the door, Shymer and Gleem bowed, but leaving to fetch the drinks.
Flip leaned on his desk, steepling his fingers as he looked right at Kayen. "I know you're a woman of business, so I'll cut straight to the matter at hand. I can assume your arrival here has something to do with my most recent acquisition, correct?"

Kayen grinned as Flip rattled off her acquisitions, arguably the Gemini were not functionally ‘hers’ but that would be fixed sooner rather than later. Considering Scallio WAS part of the Kingdom an argument could be made that his conquest was simply FOR her, even if what he did afterward was idiotic. ‘Giant Killer’ had an amusing ring to it and Kayen was eager to give it a try, once everyone had their requests for drinks placed and Flip’s… attendants? Workers? Kayen wasn’t strictly sure of the connection there quite yet, with luck if Flip proved to be someone she could work with she could find out. “I’m a woman of business when it’s necessary. Generally I’m more a woman of action.” Kayen said with a grin, in an ideal world she’d be TAKING this world for herself and get a decent fight out of it, but if she DID it would likely just be another steamroll unless outsiders interfered. “Cutting straight to it is good though, means we have to dance around things less. You’ve taken something that is mine. I suppose it was not obvious enough at the time but when I took Arcose I was laying claim to the Fleets territory, ALL of it. But that’s an easy mistake to make, I’ve been a bit busy so time wasn’t exactly made to make that point clear.”
“I’ve been informed by some of my companions however that my preferred methods might not be the best way of dealing with this situation, that working WITH you might be more beneficial, so I’ve decided to give it a go. My last foray into a partnership didn’t QUITE pan out how I wanted but it was a good learning experience.”

Zriracha offered one last smile to Ticoga before returning her attention to the exchange between Kayen and Flip. It was almost as if she were watching two large cats snarl quietly at the other; not enemies but not friends either as they made their stance clear to one another. When he made a brief vocal gesture about the Demon Realm potentially being a business endeavor, Zriracha’s pupils imperceptibly narrowed as if a light had been sudden shown in her eyes. While Mr. Fortuna might now have meant it in any certain way to challenge her, the fur on Zriracha’s legs twitched above her skin. Were she to have had Telepathy, she would have transmitted her ire through her mind to his own, Do not make promises you may regret. It was a sudden, very heated feeling – feeling challenged for some odd reason - but one that Zriracha quickly quashed in favor of not making this more trouble than it was worth, “I shall certainly see what can be done,” She amicably consoled, giving a polite nod to the ‘Giant Killers’ he offered. Thankfully, it was back to business and Zriracha took that time to roll one of her shoulder’s silently as Kayen and Flip continued their conversation. They were both glad to get straight to the point and the Demon glad to hopefully be able to finish her promised contract. Swallowing thickly, Zriracha awaited her drink with a air of impatience that was difficult to temper. Ticoga

Ticoga pleasantly waits and listens quietly as Kayen and Flip exchange their thoughts on the matter. Behind these surface thoughts, Ticoga was wondering what flavor Arcose Shiraz actually tasted like. Could it be used for cooking with? He lets his gaze wander between Zriracha and Flip as a business deal was casually offered - but Ticoga recognized it for what it was.
That business proposition was a very particular way to pressure the opposition in a deal. While two businessmen may be allied in a convergence, a third party may throw a wrench in the plan by making an offer that may loosen the alliance between the other two, suggesting that better business was available if they didn't buy out the smaller business for a merger.
((Ah... of course.)) Ticoga thinks, stealing a glance at Kayen at the mention of her taking claim of all the World Trade Fleet's territories after having defeated it. ((Such is the natural course. A nation falls, and is consumed into the more powerful nation. This is only to be expected.))
It was known that a number of Arcosians had renounced the Saiyan Kingdom, choosing to vow revenge against the Saiyans. But this was so.... inefficient. What was the end game? To continue the same loop of war that has ravaged both civilizations for centuries? Neither the Saiyans nor the Arcosians even had enough of a population to occupy planets with peace keeping forces. Both had to rely on the thousands of subjugate races to supply the millions of troops needed for an occupation.
And it must have been even more true for the Saiyans, since only one Saiyan, Nashua, had been assigned to oversee Arcose itself. No occupational forces had been left, just an overseer. In Flip's case, perhaps he thought he'd seen unclaimed territory, when in fact it had always been so. Kayen holds all the cards in this discussion; and likely knows this. The only thing that bothers Ticoga, is why this meeting was happening at all. Perhaps the Saiyans who Kayen called out as enemies to be hunted down made up the majority of the Saiyan Kingdom's fighting power?
Ticoga turns his attention to Flip, curious to see if the being had anything of value that could be used to his own advantage in this discussion with Kayen. Auber

Auber kept up with the conversation well enough. So far, so good. Even with the subtle sign of tension in the air, Auber couldn't deny that the interaction was going smooth, but still, it was merely the starting stages. There's no doubt that anything could just throw a wrench into this.
Kayen laid the foundation and the idea for the diplomatic approach, now if expectations are to be followed, then Flip should jump at the idea and make the actual offer himself. Auber kept a polite smile on the outside but inwardly, a slight unease was bubbling.
He ignored the negative feeling, instead choosing to think optimistically about this situation. He glanced at the others in the room. The Arcosian was quiet and seemed patient about the situation, which didn't exactly rub Auber the best way, ever since they met, Ticoga was obedient and submissive. By all means, that's a perfect soldier.
His eyes went over to Zriracha, who seemed less composed but no less willing to listen. He never imagined the enigmatic demon he met back on Earth would be here in this room, and in this situation. It was sometimes amusing how fate worked.

Kayen was just as straight to the point as he was, saying that Beppa, along with the rest of thg he former WTF territories, was hers, and that Flip's acquisition of the planet had been a mistake. Most people would be offended by words like this, but Flip was smart enough to not let comments like that get under his skin. Kayen could break him in half if she so chose.
When she mentioned forming a partnership with him, Flip glanced over at Auber. So, he had come through after all. Flip's smile widened slightly. "If you know what I've done for Knutts, then you must know my plans for this planet are more than just simply taking over." He sat back in his seat. "This world has much untapped potential, and I intend to bring it out. Just as I turned Knutts into a beacon of crime, I intend to make this world into a powerhouse of the criminal world. And by the end, the people of this world will thank me for it."
He leaned forward. "You want to know how I held onto Knutts so long? The secret is to make sure everybody wins." His smile turned playful. "And now, 'everybody'includes you and the Sayian Empire. I would be more than happy to form a partnership with you."
At that moment, the office door opened, bringing in Shymer and Gleem, drink trays filled with the party's orders. "Ah, right on time."
