Violin PL: 80,000 | Berith PL: 5,000 (Suppressed to 5) | Item(s): Battle Armor
Deep within the Fortuneteller's Desert sat a pair of doors. An ancient gateway of sorts, used in ages past to link Earth to a separate realm entirely through dark magicks and demonic influence. For the most part, they remained shut and dormant. Few Demons and Devils had the skill, desire, and raw power needed to force their way through the portal into the mortal realms in recent times, and it was largely forgotten about among both the populations of Earth and the Demon Realm entirely. Yet the distinct rumble of magic permeated the sands of this barren desert once more, a growing apex of energy emanating from within the doors themselves as the ancestral portal was forced open once more. Shaking and trembling, the egress of a foreign realm flung open, a volatile sparking purplish void now visible.
From within came the first step of a traveler, a leg popping from the portal and settling upon the sand which was quickly followed by the rest of the humanoid figure. A striking scheme made up their palette, bits and bobbles of garishly red attire was draped over a soothing blue undertone. Their head was even more strange, a small but sharp smile spread across the lips of the blue-skinned, pointy-eared, white-haired man. He wasted no time, taking but two steps and turning around with an expectant gaze in his eyes as a second traveler emerged from within the gateway. Oddly enough, they were quite unlike the Demon who had come first. Their choice of wardrobe was far simpler as well, relegated to a simple black-red tunic and a touch of purple underneath. Unlike most Demons, however, they bore a greenish tint to their body, pink pockets of membrane dotted his arms, a pair of antennae sticking straight up next to a curved fin. Anyone who had contact with one before could easily tell... this was no Demon, but a Namekian.
-
Violin squinted, hand automatically rising to block out the blinding rays from Earth's single sun. "I don't know why," His Demonic companion spoke up, giving the Namekian a sidelong glance. "But it seems that every portal out of the Demon Realm dumps us somewhere annoying hot and dry. Tis' a trend I noticed with the other exits as well." The Duke fanned himself lightly, glancing around. "And not even so much as a tourist booth? My my, I'm afraid Earth has already lost quite a few brownie points in my book." Simply grumbling, Violin started forward, taking confident steps towards a northeastern direction. "I'd like to get a town... or at least out of this sand and heat. I can withstand it without issue but that doesn't make it pleasant." He frowned for a moment, craning his neck. "Though it is a bit odd that Earth seems to have next to nobody guarding the portal to the Demon Realm whatsoever." One would think they'd have a permanent barracks situated atop it give that Demons and Humans clashed like fire and ice.
"Regardless I doubt any guard they could station would be capable of stopping you whatsoever," Berith said dismissively. "Though it would be a fool's move to assume that nobody else was also training during your excursion." Violin knew that to be true... mainly though the news that an individual had obtained sufficient power to obliterate an entire planet. Namek, to be exact. Violin, having taken the time to study a multitude of species during his exile, had concluded that certain offensive-oriented Alien species could potentially reach such titanic heights under the perfect circumstances, but it wasn't anywhere near a long-lasting level of strength. Violin was confident that the fruits of his labor would blossom soon, and that his own power would be enough to combat the forces of chaos that had so ruthlessly destroyed his home and his people. Speaking of people... "Oboe..." The Namekian murmured. The Sage was the unofficial figurehead of all Namekians, and from what Violin had heard, obligations and promises were used to drag him to Earth's aid while Namek soon fell under fire. He did not blame the Guru entirely, though disagreements on how he continued to lead the planet - or led, in this case - was another thing altogether.
"Of course there's the issue of trying to find Earth's Dragon Balls," Berith said smoothly. "Though the Dragon of Earth is supposedly weaker than Porguna, it would be safe to assume that restoring a planet would still be in his grasp." Violin nodded silently. The Eternal Dragons were beings of great divinity and power, and even a splintered branch created by the intellectual theft of Namek's own set was still to be respected. Violin wasn't happy that a rogue Namekian had granted this planet such power, but, Shenron himself commanded the proper formalities from him. "Surely after all our people have done for Earth, they would repair our planet and population," Violin said the words to reassure himself, but even then they fell flat against his ears. A small voice whispered terrible things to him. That Earthlings were selfish, that they would put an entire planet second over its own smaller issues. "...And if not, then I shall see how viable taking the wish by force would be." Despite his outlook on life, Violin was still a Namekian at heart. The thought of having to partake in more violence, potentially kill, just to restore his own planet was a disheartening thought.

Vangreth's PL: 128,000 | Anti-Sense: Active | Transformation: None
Wandering the Earth is an incredibly unbalanced task in terms of amusement; on this little blue planet, there are monuments to visit, places filled with potential amusement and opportunities... and then there was places like this... burried into the Western lands, outside of West City, a desert dominated the view... it did not really have any interest for Vangreth, but he required himself to explore the Earth again to find a place where he would belong, so he could not ignore just this huge part of land just because he did not like the way it looked and felt... With a fair amount of expected regrets and wasted time, he decided to fly in this direction.
The wide landscape of the Fortuneteller's Desert, mixed in with the strong heat and lack of accessible drinkable water was the perfect place for mirages and illusions to be created in your mind; although the heat and lack of liquid consumed was a much lesser problem to Muko-Jin, they were used to survive in rought environements and with small amount of ressources. All that aside, Vangreth was almost certain he saw something in the distance, like colors appears in the middle of the ocean of sand, he could swear he even saw them moved!
Stealthily making his way towards that strange occurance, Vangreth quickly picked up on a power signature was massively above anything that would regularily be in that kind of places... this and the fact that it appeared out of nowhere tipped the alien off about something happening,, people do not just appear out of nowhere like this, so either this person had just come out of ki-supression, a fight was about to take place, or he was using his signature to draw in people... either way, it was a mystery Vangreth wanted to solve! Especially since it would allow him to do something stimulating in this forsaken part of Earth.
Vangreth's aura could not be sensed, that he was sure of, so he just had to worry about being directly visible by this figure... the land approach would be the smartest one in this situation, so he swiftly landed and began to sprint towards the aura he was sensing, making sure to always keep vision-impairing hills or structures between him and the mysterious apparition. It did nnot take him too long to catch up to it... or rather them... as he peaked from behind a hill, his hair would be quite obviously giving up his position, but he already had managed to approach them sneakily... or at least he believed so.
Two figures were talking... hmm... one of them seemed to be massively weaker than the other, barely noticeable from a distance in fact, especially next to the much more powerful... well... what was this one exactly! Vangreth had never seen a Namekian before, and even with the lack of knowledge he had, it was fairly obvious these two person were not from the same place.
The alien could not hear what was going on, but a strange structure behind them notified him of where these people came from... but what were they doing burried in the middle of a desert... and why did they seem almost lost? Was there even more Earth to be discovered under the surface?! Surely there could not be an underbelly on Earth right? The more Vangreth thought about it, the more it started to make sense... this planet was full of life after all, why not have more life in caverns and tunnels underground... perhaps even a whole city?!
Perhaps then it was perfectly normal to go through there? He had to try!
Getting up from behind the hill, the alien would walk suspiciously towards the namekian and the demon, obviously trying not to look odd, which made him much worst. When he arrived near them, he would wave innocently at them.
''What a nice day to visit the under-cities of Earth, am I right? I am just so eager to... uh... go see the... uh... you know what I'm talking about right? Of coure you do!''
Saying that, he reached for the door, but seemed to be unable to open it. He felt almost powerless to even budge it a tiny bit, even when he applied force to it.
Vangreth began to laugh nervously and slowly turn his head back to the two mysterious being.
''Ah! You know how it is, I forgot my keys... can you guys help me out?''
There was nothing more obvious than the fact that he knew absolutely nothing about what he was doing right now, and concern was growing within him as even he could see that there was no way they would bite to a story so obviously false.

Violin twitched slightly, enhanced senses picking up sounds of footsteps through sand long before Berith had noticed anything... but that was odd. "I hear someone coming," The Mazoku said, eyes narrowing. "Yet I don't sense anything. What kind of illusion is this?" Berith's smile never dropped, the Demon raising an eyebrow. Energy sensing was still a new concept to the Netherworlder, so it malfunctioning didn't seem out of the ordinary. "All sorts of beings have different types of Ki, from what I've heard. Perhaps their 'wavelength' so to speak isn't exactly attuned to the kind of signals your skill is searching for? Similar to say... an Earth radio. Tuned into the wrong station." The Namekian turned silently, eyes squinting against the glaring sun, catching a humanoid figure making its' way towards them. "Well... stay near to me, Berith. I've no way of measuring their power but surely they aren't stronger than I."
Vangreth made first contact, spouting stuff about under-cities and other nonsense that caught Violin off-guard long enough for the Alien to finish his charade without the Namekian even getting a word in. "I'm not wholly sure what you're babbling about, but if you wish to pass through the doors, you are in need of a Makyo lamp. Without one, they shall remain inert." Violin reached towards Berith, the Demon silently passing his master a burned-out crushed piece of metal. "And as you can see, ours is currently broken. I'm hoping to find one somewhere around here." It would be an unlikely find among the vendors on this planet, as detached from the arcane as they were, so his backup plan involved the classical option of space travel. "If you don't mind us asking," Berith stepped forward, giving a short bow. "We're also in search of... Dragon Balls, I do believe they're called. I can say with confidence that this planet harbors them."

Ah crap, it seemed that Vangreth's incredibly elaborated deception had been pierced open! Even worst was that this passage required a key that even these two did not have at the moment... well... they seemed to have a broken one. Vangreth would nod through the explanation, as if it was totally common knowledge that Makyo lamp where a thing.
'' Ah yeah, Makyo lamp, that's right! That's what I uh... forgot. Shame yours is broken.''
Are the only words that came out of his mouth when that was said; he was definitively not the best at lying when it came down to it.
Then, there was a strange mention... well... it was probably strange because it came from such mysterious individual, if it was two earthlings asking for such a specifically-named item, then he would have assumed it was a restaurant of some kind, but it became clearer that these people were not from Earth, and they were looking for something that rested on this little planet.
'' Dragon Balls uh? I have never heard such a name before.''
Dropping the facade, the alien took a much more serious tone and voice; it deemed it necessary, as these two increasingly seemed up to no good.
'' But surely you wouldn't mind going on and asking the leader of this planet right? If it is on Earth, then he should have the answer to that... but I have a feeling you don't want people to know you're looking for them, do you?''
He crossed his arm and raised an eyebrow, of course he would never have attacked them outright, but his guts was telling him to keep his guard up and not trust those two; they seemed to be hiding something. It kind of felt wrong to judge by appearanced, but he could not help it.
'' So, now that I made a fool of myself and failed, would you mind telling me what is this?''
He pointed at the secret passade they came out of.
'' And why does it take some shady evil-looking lamp to get through it?''

Berith squinted at the stranger, not entirely sure if this man was trying to play them the fool... or was simply acting the fool himself with no malicious reason behind it. Whatever the reason, they were definitely not of Earthly origin by any means. The Demon's smile still never faded, plastered upon his face in almost an eerie manner as Vangreth fumbled about with his words. "Why, good sir, something almost tells me you're fibbing. Surely that is not the case, I say, for only a rude individual would employ such devious tactics." The Demon himself was in no position to outright challenge anyone suspicious, especially when Violin was unable to measure his power... but that didn't mean verbal barbs were off the table. "Or perhaps you're playing the part of a clown? I do find myself enjoying this song and dance of yours. Worthy of a clap and a half!" Pausing to perform said motion, Berith motioned to Violin. "I think you should steer our lovely chat from here, my lord."
Violin's expression dipped into a frown upon Vangreth's increasing hostility. "I don't appreciate your implications or your tone." He said sharply, staring at the Alien. "You initiated this conversation with a lie and now you act as if Berith and I have committed some sort of unspoken crime." Scoffing, Violin waved his anger off. "And if you must know - I surely wouldn't mind taking this inquiry to whomever you deem to be the planet's leader. Escort us to them at this moment if you were so inclined. I seek the restoration of my home planet, Namek. A planet that time and time again has poured blood, sweat, and tears into vigorously defending Earth and its' people only to receive nothing in return when villains came to destroy it. Our Sage is displaced, my kin is dead, and I seek only to beg for mercy from the leader of the people who I believed to have betrayed us. Is that enough information, or do you require more before you learn to hold your tongue and cease these meaningless accusations?"

It did not take took long for Vangreth to realize he had been making a fool of himself, sure, that one humanoid was speaking to him in a way that, for Vangreth at least, seemed to sound a few alarm in his head, but he had no real tangible accusation to make on them. The part where he called him a clown and mocked him did start to anger the alien, which for now, only gave a frown for an answer, but would not be taking that kind of attack for long, especially since those two seemed to avoid his own questions.
Then, the strong one took it upon himself to teach him a lesson about being suspicious; it was true however, that Vangreth was acting on instinct, and even though it was still yelling at him that these guys could not be trusted, his speech did give him strong vibes of a cause worth fighting for... which spawned doubt in his mind, enough to have him question his instinct, and be back to square one about these two individual and their intention. He had heard of Namek before, the strange figure taunting him mentionned that it was missing for some reason... that made too much sense.
'' Let me be clear right here and now; I do not trust you, or your companion there. However, I have caught wind of something happening to your planet, and while I do not have any stakes in this, my guts tells me this cause is one to fight for. ''
Vangreth paused for a moment, his voice was much more serious, but also less aggressive, he was unsure of what to do, since his guts was contradicting itself... there was very few ways to make a good decision in that case.
'' My gut also tells me you are not to be trusted... so I cannot, with a clear mind, let you go any further towards highly populated area...''
With those words, Vangreth would slam the ground with his feet, standing firm.
'' I believe this situation will not solve itself. You seem to be strong enough to fight for your ideals. Then I suggest you face me so I can have a better glimpse at who you truly are, and if your words at to be trusted.''
Vangreth's aura flared around him gently.
'' If my guts is right and you are not to be trusted, then I will stop your progression the best I can. If I am proven wrong however, I will assist you in regaining your planet. I do not know if Earth has a way of re-creating things on that scale, but if there are, then we shall find and use it to restore your planet.''
He closed his eyes for a moment, this was really the only course of action he saw fit; and of course he would give the Namekian a fighting chance and fight as close as he could to the level of his opponent, at least, until his idea if made clear.
'' Sounds fair to you, stranger?''

"Your guts now, is it?" Berith said, venom lacing his tone. "I've met Demons more affable than you. The sheer level of disrespect that you-" Violin cut off his companion with a simple raised palm, the Demon stopping in his tracks and clamping his mouth shut into a sneer. "I hold my tongue for the sake of Lord Violin." This situation was outrageous to the noble in more ways than one, but growing angry at the potentially dangerous stranger would be an ill-advised course of action. "I cannot condone fighting this... person my lord. We've no idea what they're capable of, and if serious injury were to befall you..." It wouldn't bode well - in their minds - for the future of Namek in general. "I don't see how throwing punches is any way to measure trustworthiness. What, if he fails to hit you hard enough, does that indicate malicious intent?"
"Berith, enough." The Namekian said firmly, turning to stare at Vangreth in an attempt to glean more information about the alien. "You'll also have to forgive my outburst." He bowed slightly, a sign of regret in his culture. "I've no intent to come off as hostile or volatile. It's just that I still am trying to cope with the loss of my home and almost the entirety of my species. Had I not been partaking in self-imposed exile I'd have died on Namek defending it to my last breath. The blood of my kin is on my hands and... and convincing Earth to repay us for what we've done for them is the only way I see to wash myself clean of these sins." Vangreth's suspicion wasn't entirely unreasonable either, though his method of handling it certainly left quite a bit to be desired. "You wish to spar? Fine. I accept your terms."
Berith stared for a moment before huffing and retreating to a safe distance away, loyal enough to respect Violin's wishes. The Namekian settled into a simple, wide-spread martial arts stance, awaiting Vangreth's first move. "Porunga sä akahavir." Pausing a move, he translated it for his opponent to understand: "A phrase of my warrior code. It calls upon our deity, Porguna, to oversee our battle and ensure fairness and skill." Violin was cautious in his stance, scanning for any indication of Vangreth's power or own fighting style. He'd need to last long enough to deduce it if the Namekian wanted any chance at victory.

The way Violin's acolyte was speaking seemed to be well crafted; every word that came out of his mouth was polite and chosen, yet the message they were giving were very quickly working on Vangreth's nerves. The shear amount of ignorance from the demon was expected for someone as weak as he was, how could he ever understand what he meant by judging someone with a fight? Still, if the alien was everything this little annoyance said he was, he would have thrown him into space a long time ago... only fighters can understand what it means to spar, outside of just throwing punches.
'' I don't expect you to understand what I am proposing. Your master, however, probably does. While I would usually not be able to tolerate the fact that you seem to be enslaved, the fact that you are pathetic like you are tells me you've purposefully done that to yourself.''
Those were probably the most hateful words Vangreth had spoken in forever, but the one called Berith seemed to just bring the worst in him instantly... perhaps he was just that good with words. He would take a deep breath in and out, turning his attention to the much more respectable Violin, even though the fact that this person was under his command was suspicious in itself.
He heard what the namekian had to say and, in a strange way, related to the man's distress; if he had been too late to save his own people, then he would certainly be in a similar position. The fact that he seemed sincere did not escape Vangreth's gaze, but backing down right now simply made no sense, since he had already accepted the spar. At least, he would maybe be able to really have an idea of who this person is.
'' If your intention are what you say they are, then I wish you well on your journey to recreate your world. '' He simply answered with empathy in his tone.
When Violin spoke his words in his first language, Vangreth would bow a little, replicating what he had seen him do, as he assumed it was some sort respect sign, or something similar.
What the namekian would see in Vangreth's stance after he assumed it was clear; the muko-jin's stance was simple, and probably based more on ininct than prediction, something he could perhaps use in this very duel.
Noticing his opponent was waiting for him to move first, Vangreth would jump ahead and throw the first punch, or rather a few, as he opened this spar with a couple of jabs right for Violin's abs, which he would follow with a palm-strike to the chest if it connected. Simple enough, but none of them had an idea of how the other fought, so it would have to do.
The alien was purposefully slowly himself down, his purpose was to evaluate Violin, not outright beat him up, so he was opperating close to what he expected the Namekian could.

"Struck a nerve?" The Demon retorted sadistically. "What's the matter, have you never seen what genuine devotion to a person is... or does the very act of loyalty unnerve you, almost as if you were a slave yourself? Someone lock you up and throw away the key?" Violin grunted a warning, Berith gritting his teeth. "Just because I am not infatuated with fighting and hoarding power does not make one 'pathetic'. Though what more would I expect from a violence-happy being like you?" Not long after Violin and Vangreth split to start their duel, Berith silently took a seat upon the sand, legs and arms crossed in tandem as he waited for the first blow to be struck.
Whether or not Vangreth bothered to respond before attacking, Violin was ready. While the Alien's style seemed to change on a whim, adjusted to whatever he thought he needed, Violin's was one of meticulous planning and practice. With each subsequent block after the first, Violin's defense grew quicker and sturdier. The salvo of punches was stonewalled, and the attempted palm strike was dodged as the Namekian allowed it to nearly graze, turning in place so his chest was facing perpendicular to his opponent. With calm, fluid motions Violin retaliated with two precise attacks: first was punch aimed directly under Vangreth's jaw, while the second would follow shortly after in the form of a knee to the man's gut. Successful or not, Violin would attempt to disengage with a quick spin, gaining distance and settling back into his neutral stance as he observed... and waited once more.
"Believe it or not, but Berith is hardly the most abrasive or crass of his kind," Violin stated calmly. "He hails from the Demon Realm. The same place this gate leads to, and how I managed to travel to Earth without the use of a spacecraft. In that place, there is endless carnage and hatred... Berith is different. There is a chance that he could use his speech skills and general cadence to become a truly remarkable being." Rolling his neck for a moment while the battle took a moment's pause, the Namekian continued: "That environment is also where I tempered my emotion and view of battle. Most of my kin are- were pacifists. I decided that if I could endure training in such a place without succumbing to dark desires, I would emerge a wiser and more powerful warrior. One who fights for peace... and yet..." He glanced curiously at Vangreth. "I cannot sense it, but you seem to be holding back and still fighting on par with me."

He was right, his words were striking that nerve real bad... having been enslaved for so long left some scars on Vangreth's mind, and they were not about to vanish, especially not since that little demon began to harass him about it. He could not pay him attention, he was not about to give him what he wants... but at that moment, Vangreth felt the urge to just... smack that loud-mouth into the ground as hard as he could... but he knew very well that could easily kill him, and there was nothing he would hate more than to make him right by acting as such.
Vangreth decided against answering the loud-mouthed demon, instead focusing on the battle that was happening between him and Violin. While his first offensive had proven totally pointless, as the namekian deflected every attack with relative ease, which did irritate slightly the alien, perhaps he had let his emotion get the better of him, and as such, did not properly timed his attacks... because there was no way someone could out-maneuvre him that badly.
Similarily, Vangreth managed counter Violin's assault; Violin's first blow to his jaw he grabbed and deviated to his side, and then he lifted his own knee to meet with the Namekian's, essentially blocking both attacks with fluid movement.
As his opponent backed down and started talking, Vangreth could not help but crack a smile at how easily he was being seen through, he did not know what to make with that information, other than he was not hiding his emotions very well, but the fact that he spoke of his minion like his demonic heritage explained why he was the way he was simply rolled over Vangreth; he knew for a fact that demon where not diabolical by law of nature.
'' So this place leads to the Demon Realm... well, I am glad I did not have that key after all... I think I will save my judgement of your minion for a later time though, we don't seem to speak the same language, even though we use the same words.''
Vangreth tilted his head one way, then the other before smiling at the remark Violin made.
'' Well, I am holding back. Like I said, my plan is not to beat you up, but to judge the worth of your ideals. I could also say the same about you, if I learned one thing about warriors like you and me, it is that their real power comes with some sort of power ups. With your power, I refuse to think you cannot do the same. Like I said, if what you say is true, and you really fight for a place to call home, then I would like nothing other than to support you. I've... been there before.''
A moment passed, and Vangreth took a deep breath before launching back towards Violin once again. This time however, he would attempt to strike the namekian with a powerful kick right across the face; while he was still holding back, he would still increase the difficulty until Violin reached his limit. If the kick connected, then he would double down and throw a second one from the other side, then would land firmly on both legs and strike him in the chest with his elbow.

"Understand my comment was also one of... incredulousness." Violin closed his eyes for a moment, thinking deeply. "I've spent a great deal of my life training to reach my maximum potential, yet the first person I meet out of the gate is as strong if not stronger than I." It was not jealously or resentment that drove the Namekian to make these statements. Rather, a simple dollop of befuddlement was evident in his tone as he spoke. As if incapable of comprehending it. "Of course I didn't exactly think the world would sit idly by while I myself trained. Yet... ah. May I ask if there are many more fighters like you?" His ultimate duty as Porguna's servant was to protect his people. Violin had failed once already, so the thought that even his newfound power was nowhere near enough to rise above the threats of the galaxy was unnerving.
So perturbed was he, that Violin failed to notice Vangreth's first attack, the kick connecting and snapping the Namekian's head back for a moment, reeling from the force. He stumbled, raising his forearm to soften the blow of the follow-up kick before taking Vangreth's elbow to his chest. Hardly winded, Violin retaliated with a straight kick of his own to the alien's (possibly) exposed chest, utilizing enough force to potentially send his target flying if caught unprepared. "It might seem hypocritical for a person like I to preach what I preach only to continue amassing selfish power. Yet I... the burden of Namek falls on me as one of its' survivors, and I could not bear to watch more harm befall it again." He laughed: a dry, joyless noise. "So in the end... to beat the megalomaniac villains of this world, I in turn must never stop seeking to become stronger. Ironic, isn't it?" It went against Namekian base instinct and the tenents of their morality. Yet what other choice did they have?
They were some of the most resilient and powerful beings in the known galaxy from birth, with great strength, devotion, and the mystical ability to regenerate among other things. Yet they decided not to use their powers for evil, but instead temper them. Practice pacifism over aggression in hopes of being at peace with others. And what did they get from that? Nothing... but violence. They gave away their most sacred artifacts, let foreigners abuse a God's might, and what do they get in return? Nothing... but the destruction of their planet. Apparently one rogue Saiyan was far more important than the lives of all Namekians, regardless of what they had done for Earth in the past. "If- when. When my people and planet are restored, I will seek to become their leader if possible. The Guru Oboe... I know not of him personally or his struggles, but his methodology is clearly incompatible with the modern era. I hold nothing but respect for the Sage, but I cannot allow him or any other Namekian to let us be slaughtered like cattle."

When the subject of other warriors like him arised, and seeing that this was a sensitive matter for the Namekian, Vangreth decided to go slowly with what he was going to answer. There was this feeling of... defeat... coming from the Namekian, as he really seemed to have been through hell in... well... exactly the place you'd assume would provide such an experience... the alien would tell him the truth, but he should do so in a way that would value the work Violin had done in his training... perhaps there was a way to turn it into a motivation?
'' Well, I can re-assure you that I am amongst about the 3 strongest people I have met on Earth. With your power, assuming you can transform, I can safely say you are within the strongest beings on this planet. Depending on the potency of your other forms, if you have those, I would say your strenght is nothing to be dissapointed about. ''
Yeah, that should do it. Vangreth's tone was friendly and understanding; perhaps Violin could catch that and figure out that he was being nice about it, but there was no malice in that, just a desire not to hurt a warrior's pride.
While this ideological clash was happening, there was also a regular fight in the middle, and Vangreth was quick to go back and forth between the two! He did not expect for his first attack to connect but the second failing, so his chest was left open for Violin to exploit with his kick! Sending Vangreth away a fair distance before he caught himself back. Another switch, now he was listening before counter-attacking.
'' As someone who had to bear the weight of his people's future on his shoulder once; I do not blame you for gathering as much power as you can. I did the exact same to free my people from oppression. You are not megalomaniac for using the same tactics as these 'villains' you speak of, you are rising up to the challenge, like a true warrior of his people would do in your place.''
It was easy for Vangreth to empathize with Violin's story, because he had lived through it before... and he knew just how fragile the chances of actually achieving such an objective could be thin. That was part of the reason he wanted to help the namekian, and the more he spoke of it, the clearer Vangreth's vision of him became... they were similar... and as such, his trust in this individual, even if there was a lot of questions to be asked, was confirmed.
The alien did not know of the political intrigue Violin was speaking of, with a Guru of sort, and he was aiming to become their leader, which Vangreth could not really relate to; he preffered being a hero over a leader, since a hero could operate independantly to save his kind. Surely, this namekian was a smarter individual than Vangreth, or rather, their reality and view where different on the same problems, but not incompatible though.
The Muko-Jin lowered his guard and powered-down his aura, smiling in a friendly manner towards Violin.
'' First, I want to apologize. I judged you based on what I knew only, so I cannot say that I was totally wrong in doubting you, but from what I see, you have good intentions. ''
Vangreth would approach the namekian and offer his hand for a shake, which he would firmly do if it was accepted.
'' Second, while I would understand not wanting to call me a friend, I would make you an offer. Consider me an ally. If trouble comes your way, and you are in need of assistance, I will answer. ''
After saying that, he would give Violin another bow, which might be a little more appropriate this time around.
The truth behind this was simple, Vangreth wanted to help Violin's cause, there was a people in need, and someone like him before, seemingly alone to fight against unfair odds. Well, not this time.

Violin smiled a dry smile, chuckling softly: "Three others like yourself is far above what I had expected a seemingly quiet planet like Earth to attract. And while they may not intend any harm to me or my people in the future... it is still a worrying development. Relying on my own strength for protection is all the Namekians can count on for the forseeable future. Our Guru has gone missing despite not fighting upon Namek, and last time it was attacked..." He grimaced, unpleasant memories resurfacing. "Well, we didn't get too much in the way of help. Ergo being so easily surpassed by at least four others is not an acceptable outcome. It is clear that my training has not even come close to closure... as much as I hesitate to continue this damnable search for more power." Kick landing solidly on Vangreth's chest, Violin gave the Alien a moment of pause to right himself before their talk continued.
"Rising to the challenge is a necessary evil." Violin said somberly. "The fact that people wield power capable of leveling entire sectors of civilization... it should be scorned. Yet what response is there except to become strong yourself to stop them? It forms a loop of sorts, one that keeps dragging the evil and the righteous into a pattern of continuing conflict. History shows much the same thing. Conflict arises, rages for a number of years, and then is snuffed out only to rise again later once power fades from the collective mass." His hand clutched at the fabric covering his chest, the Namekian sighing. "I imposed self-exile on myself to temper my emotion and skills. Before that point I was an irrational, violent fool much like many of these Villains roaming our galaxy... and to be quite honest, I have no desire to personally seek justice upon those who destroyed my homeworld."
"What they did was a horrid act, and one that must be scorned by civilizations across the stars. ...Yet I think I can understand why. Why sometimes people turn to such evil methods. It is good to remember that most of them are still people. People with feelings, desires, motivations, and fears. And as much as I want to hate those who took my kin and planet away from me... I cannot. If they were to try again, I would not hesitate to take what action is needed, but I will refuse to participate in the continuation of this cycle of torment. Those who breach my code of ethics will be dealt with at the moment... or those who are terrors upon the whole galaxy and serve as a persistent threat." It was not a stance that many would agree with or support. Violin was willing to try anything at this point. To stop this needless carnage.
Violin accepted Vangreth's half-apology with a dismissive wave. "Like I said I can understand your position. You were only doing what you thought just." The offered handshake was accepted wholeheartedly.

It seemed like the Namekian was living this whole paradox of power thing really hard... while Vangreth could understand what was the problem with the path the Namekian was currently on, especially since he was part of the problem, as said by Violin, the fact that he was as strong as he was, for the perspective of some outside view, was problematic, because his power could be put to bad uses. What Vangreth failed to see as a problem was... well... that it was a bad thing? Surely, when evil rise, then good had to rise against it, no matter the reasons.
'' Perhaps you are overthinking this a little? I guess I am not the most well placed, since I am part of that problem you describe, but there would simply be not reason to stop progress of both evil and good. People naturally want to become the best version of themselves, for example, I had to rise up and become strong so that I could save my species. Those with bad intentions rise to power for reasons we cannot understand, but they also become the reason why some of us turn into beacons of hope, of power. A true hero cannot stop getting stronger to stop the villains of this world just because power can cause evil, and evil will eventually adapt.''
Vangreth paused; he was aware that his reasonning would probably not affect the Namekian, who seemed to have thought about this for much longer than Vangreth would care to ever do.
'' What I want to say is... don't feel demonized because you chase for a higher power. Opposition is what makes you strong, and if you have to become stronger to protect your people, then look at me, set that objective in your mind, and then surpass it. It worked for me, and I managed to do what I wanted with my power. ''
Of course, the alien was ignoring all the parts about the destructive capacity of their energy; the whole concept of being able to whipe-out a whole planet from existence was foreign to him, but deep down, he knew that he could do it if he really wanted to... his True Galaxy Piercing could certainly reach a planet's core and completely obliterate the natural order that keeps planet stable... but it did not change the fact that is many people could do it, then just as many people could prevent it from happening... in his mind, raw power had no alignement.
His handshake was accepted, and to his joy, it seemed like the Namekian did not care too much about his previous misbehaving. Although the namekian did not answer his offer at all; perhaps, like himself, he wanted to face this problematic alone... while he understood that fairly well, it was still frustrating for the alien to have his help offer ignored.
'' Do not lose your ultimate goal's focus. If you initially began to gather power to protect your people, than let it be the reason you keep doing so. Do not let yourself be corrupted by how others use their powers, but rather, become the paragon that will prove their ways to be wrong. If you fight for a morally stronger cause, then surely your resolve with beat theirs and you will never be permanently defeated. That, and of course, you will never be fighting alone.''
Vangreth's attitude had very clearly changed, a trait that was common from him, as he seemed to reflect part of people's personality back at them; it always seemed to facilitate the forming of a bond between two individual.

"Yamar zavaan yum be..." Violin said sullenly, straightening himself up once more. "Regardless of explanation or justification, I doubt I'll ever be able to truly remove this thorn from my body. The thorn of regret, and fear, of the very concept of power. Maybe that is just the inner Namekian within me speaking," He smiled slightly, chuckling. "For whatever reason, our race is naturally inclined towards peace rather than war. It is both a blessing and a curse at times... as I'm sure you can see." There wasn't much more to be said at the moment. The two had come to an understanding, as rugged as it may be, and that was enough to put Violin's mind at temporary ease. "Regardless of what conclusions you've come to, however, I must forge on. I can only hope that the people in power on Earth will listen to my plea..."
Violin was - to say the least - surprised at Vangreth's changing tune over the course of their conversation. "You went from accusatory to friendly..." He said, shaking his head exasperatedly. "Though I suppose I shouldn't complain, considering the truth didn't take long to be brought to light." He ought to at least respond to Vangreth's not-so-subtle hints at helping him, too: "I appreciate the assistance offered and will attempt to utilize it for just causes... but in the end, if it is not I who can successfully help my people, what right is there then for me to lead them?" Relying solely on the work of others would be catastrophic. Namek needed a strong, suitable person of strength and character - not a slippery charmer who only used others for their power. To stand strong alongside the rest of the galaxy... that was his dream! And he would achieve it regardless of the obstacles set before him.
