| A Flight In The Cold |Courge's PL: 8,946
Ever since he arrived to Earth, he asked himself: "Was it worth it?" Sacrificing his peoples' lives. Everything he'd obtained from being there, not only of materialistic value, but emotional as well, alongside experience. The Saiyan Kingdom wasn't stupid enough to torture the inhabitants of Beppa, though they were certainly going to expect something from them. Exploiting them wouldn't be it. Most likely, they would request a specific percentage of their harvests. After all, their currency wasn't worth anything outside of the planet. Now, to answer his question? He couldn't tell. Honestly, he started to believe he shouldn't blame himself so much for abandoning his people. Since the beginning, were they his? If they were, things wouldn't be as they were. Everything would've been more relaxed and better organized. Instead of him being the one reorganizing Beppa's society, the Saiyan Kingdom and the Syndicate would take it upon themselves to. Though, he still feared the unknown. Why did Queen Kayen desire to conquer the entirety of the galaxy? Was it for noble goals, such as bringing and selling technology to foreign planets and improve the overall quality of life, or...? He needed to figure it out for ease of mind. Though, he started considering to forget about his past and to focus on his present. If anything happened to the people of Beppa, it would just be another burden to carry over his shoulders. Even if their screams haunted him in nightmares. Even if they rose from the dead to blame him for not fighting by their side. The once cloaked Saiyan shook his head, dismissing his thoughts. He rubbed his sides and huffed. His thoughts helped him ignore his cold, but focusing on what was before him ended up in his senses picking it up again. After his interaction with that woman, he'd set himself- or better said, been set a goal to explore every corner of the planet and learn as much as he could about it. He wasn't interested in being crushed. At least, not for a reason like exploring new horizons. She motivated him to pursue his goal, truly. He couldn't keep her conditions off his head, after all. Before long, lights appeared past the piles of snow and mountainsides. He puffed air into his hands, before unleashing his energy around his body in the form of a black flame, heating his body up, but most importantly increasing his speed as he made his way towards what seemed to be a town or a city, at first glance. The tailed individual softly descended to the ground, looking around. His mind was focused on a single task, which was to seek shelter and to survive in this cold environment. He wasn't used to the cold, considering Beppa's conditions were extreme. Extremely hot, that was. His eyes landed on a sign, found on a building. What did it read, though? He squinted at it and even walked closer, thinking the cold had worsened his sight. But, that wasn't it! "That isn't on Beppan, is it...?" He scratched the back of his head. "I'll need to learn these peoples' language. For now, I'll check it out." He thought, continuing to approach the building. After he walked inside, it became clear to him this was a restaurant, just like those in Beppa! Though, these were better looking and in better conditions. Once he spotted a fire, he scurried over and kneeled down in front of it, using the fire to heat his hands up. Once he started to heat up, he turned around to look at those in the store, and then at the snow he dragged along with him inside the store. The bartender seemed to be annoyed, though he didn't approach him just yet or yell at him from the counter. However, two people stood out to him, not only because of their peculiar appearance, but their powers... They were two of the people he had come looking for. Heit Vangreth

Vangreth's PL: 128,000 / Anti-sense active
While Vangreth had a good idea of what he did NOT want to settle near with his house, he still required himself to scout all of the lands of Earth to figure out where the best spots for his house would be, and that included... the North.
Now, even if the cold temperature of the Northen part of Earth were not really news to Vangreth, Muko was a desertic planet after all, so there was hot days and very cold night, but the warmth of everywhere else just made it his less favorite part of this world.
Here in North City, there was not much greenery, everyone seems in a hurry, there are much fewer outside activities and the overall atmosphere just feels more sad than the rest of Earth's great cities, even if a spark of joy and a few laughs could be heard from time to time, it had nothing to do with the constant flow of people in South City, or the youthful surroundings of the Orange Star High. Even with his ki-sensing, Vangreth could tell that life was overall less present in these parts of the land, and that was depressing...
This is sad... this whole place just feels like a graveyard... so much paused life. Why do people even live here? It's even worst for regular humans, they are not resistant to the cold like me. Vangreth's inner monologue would complain as he desperately looked for something interesting to do here... he would not cheat on his own mission, but certainly wished something would make that whole trip here more fun.
After a bit of wandering, the alien's stomach reminded him and breakfast was a fairly long time ago, and he began to search for a place to grab something, which he would quickly find. There, he found a nice place to sit, a warmer atmosphere, a couple of people discussing their day to day lives, presumable louder due to the strange liquid they were drinking that was giving off a strong smell... For Vangreth, a nice glass of juice from whatever Earthly fruit sounded the funiest at the time and a plate of food he'd think looked good from the picture, and he would be an happy little alien right there.
A few minutes in however, he noticed someone entering the place, and immediatly, he knew that one person was different... while the tail was a quick giveaway, the real detail that got Vangreth's attention was the male's signature; a power level hight enough to stand out in here.
Surely enough, the alien noticed the eyes of the Saiyan going shortly back and forth between him and another person... whatever was going to happen, there was a feeling in the air that he could not ignore, although he was not sure if it was good or not yet.

St. Nick’s Loogie. A lowly tavern in the middle of North City, a metropolis among glacial fields and barren mountains. Truly, one had to be crazy to brave the weather outside for a drink past those familiar oak doors, but Heit was more than crazy. He was bored out of his goddamn mind. Warmth wasn’t a common commodity on Arcose Prime, but here on Earth? You could find warmth all across the planet if you knew where to look. Perhaps that was why Heit had stayed on this planet for so long. Indeed, the weather and denizens were for the most part pleasant to be around, but it was that sense of...human connection that kept the Arcosian interested. The way a man and another man could look at each other’s differences and cast those aside to reach a common goal together… that was a rare sight on any planet Heit had ever been to, but certainly not here.
As he mused about his time on the planet, the bar worker derailed his train of thought, offering him a curious look. He regarded her with a warm smile that didn’t quite reach his red eyes. “Gin, on the rocks,” Heit said in his suave syrupy voice, as the girl nodded before turning to leave, shaking her head at the alien’s child-like height and lack of ID. She probably wasn’t compensated enough for this task, Heit mused as his gaze snapped toward the sudden opening of the bar doors.
Some...tailed man, dragged a solid seven inches of snow in a path toward the open hearth, drawing dirty looks from all of the p[atrons and staff, though Heit eyed him curiously. A Saiyan. Earth had no shortage of those, but it was always such a jarring sight for the young Arcosian. Like an Earthling seeing a bear walking along the sidewalk, it wasn’t totally out of place, but always a head turner. He turned to the bartender, who matched the other tavern resident’s angered expression, and Heit chuckled as he slid him some currency. “Something warm for my friend there… Make it a double,” Heit amended as he eyed the man’s desperate use of the fire for some form of remedy to the outside air’s bite.

If he regretted something, it was getting rid of his cloak. It would've kept him warm, even in this planet's cold lands.
He raised his hands to his mouth, puffing some air. His temperature was gradually returning to standard values, not only thanks to the fire, but also by using his tail as a method of heating his uncovered body through friction, by rubbing wherever he felt cold. It was his temporal solution to this situation. Though, it was clear he would need something to keep him warm outside if he wanted to explore every corner of this area. While rubbing his sides, he looked around the restaurant. Besides the two alien-like beings, there were humanoid creatures wearing robes made of fur. If he could get his hands on one, then he wouldn't find as much difficulty in accomplishing his task. His thoughts were disrupted by the Changeling speaking up, ordering a drink for him. At the beginning, he didn't think much of it, but that was mainly because he wasn't in his right mind yet. Was it an act of pity? For him? He didn't understand why the mere thought kept aiding him in growing more flustered than he already was. The tailed man rose from the ground and approached the seated one, glaring down at him. He was silent throughout it all, letting his gaze speak for itself. He was furious, and had it not been for cold he felt, he would've started more of a commotion. "Hey, you! Don't think you can come in 'ere and start all tha' trouble, y'hear me?" A female voice was heard from within the staff's room, growing closer and closer. It was revealed to belong to a woman in her late teens, standing right by his side. He was shocked by her intervention. "Wait... I can understand the two of them?" He thought, wondering how such was even possible. They weren't speaking Beppan, yet he still could comprehend them well enough to hold a conversation. It was similar to the woman he'd met earlier, but he hadn't thought about it when interacting with her. A sigh left his lips, before he settled down beside the Changeling, accepting the drink the girl brought with her. He took a few too many gulps, emptying the glass, resulting visibly unaffected by it! In the end, he was found staring at the Changeling, as if expecting him to speak up.

While Vangreth followed the gave of the saiyan, which originally was alternating between him and another person in this restaurant, he found out that there was an Arcosian at the bar! Now, he was aware of the bad chemistry between the two races and would keep an eye on how the situation would evolve over there... if it came to it, Vangreth could certainly stop them, but even at their own power level, they could just as easily blow up the tavern while the Muko-Jin would not have the time to intervene in time... the Arcosian seemed to have ordered something for the Saiyan, and tension was building up, which got Vangreth on his toes.
Then, something absolutely unexpected happened... a simple Earthling, young and without any noticeable energy, stood up to the seemingly angered Saiyan and told him off! While at first, Vangreth feared for the young women's safety, he was impressed to see that she actually managed to throw the saiyan off his game! The Alien smiled ear to ear and went back to Courge and Heit... now they had sat together and seemed to go for a more pacific approach... good, perhaps he should even join them?
That was decided, and with a decisive step up from his table, he slowly approached the bar and sat next to them, hoping nothing wierd would come out of it. The first thing that happened when he sat was another look from the heroic Earthling, which seemed slightly alerted that yet another person joined in this troublesome duo; Vangreth knew nothing on how to react, so he simply waved at her and smiled like an idiot, which, while maybe loosening the tension, did get her to sight in a weird way, she certainly think he was hitting on her, or something similar.
Feeling a little embarassed, Vangreth felt compelled to do something about it.
'' I'll ... uh... have what they're having...''
He would say, obviously thrown off his confident facade, as he turned to the odd duo and tried to make a serious face, which would be suspicious.
'' So... uh. You guys are not going to fight right? Not here at least? Earthlings are quite fragile when it comes down to it so... I'd happily point you guys to a place where you could duel it off without having the destroy this lovely place.''
While he was trying to sound in control, the fact that he was inexperienced in these sorts of thing was clear to anyone paying attention.

Heit watched the Saiyan’s expression sour and stifled a chuckle. The pride of a Saiyan, always present even in the most casual circumstances. It was almost comical, the way the Saiyan strode over to Heit and glared down at him for the unforgivable sin of ordering him a drink. Heit couldn’t have looked less threatened if he tried, offering a slight turn of the head and a curt nod in reply. While the Saiyan kept glowering, Heit paid him no mind and took stock of the environment, just in case a brawl broke it. There were about two dozen Earthlings present, which meant Heit would need to remove the Saiyan fast if he wanted to keep them safe. Saiyans didn’t have much of a reputation for avoiding needless casualties, although that may have just been a cruel stereotype. Heit didn’t want to find out
Thankfully, he wouldn’t have to. With a delighted widening of the eyes, Heit watches the bar worker berate and threaten the burly looking Saiyan. Heit wanted to laugh, but was socially aware enough to know that wouldn’t help much. Heit decided then and there that this trip to the bar was already going to be a night he wouldn’t forget. As the Saiyan rather defeatedly sat down beside him, Heit gave him a side eye while he downed the entirety of the hot cocoa he was brought.
Wow, who knew Saiyans loved chocolate so much?
Pleased with himself and feeling vindicated by the young lady’s expression, Heit rested his chin onto his closed first and leaned on the bar, taking another swig of the sweet gin. These Earthlings knew their way around a drink, and Heit was more than happy about that. He glanced back at the Saiyan, who seemed to just be… staring at him. Heit knew that the Saiyan wanted Heit to initiate the conversation, but in a fit of vindictive glee, Heit decided to mess with him a bit more. Why not? Just a little harmless fun.
Heit didn’t say a word to the Saiyan, instead just staring right back at him, though Heit’s expression had a playful smile that didn’t quite reach his red eyes. Heit wagered the Saiyan would find this more frustrating than just annoying him.
Before the fruits of Heit’s mind game could be plucked, they were interrupted by another new arrival, this time a man with snow white hair and clearly not an Earthling. Heit sized the man up, quickly assessing his intent to be a peacekeeper for whatever tension had formed with the man’s earlier display. As the man ordered, Heit leaned over and offered an amendment.
“You can put that on my tab as well, miss. Thank you,” Heit said with a charming smile, which got a sigh from the bar server. At least of these space men were being civil, she thought as she left to grab more gin and cocoa.
Heit eyed the white haired man and listened politely while the man made his intentions clear. A peacemaker, indeed. Heit resisted a chuckle at the newcomer’s blunt honesty. Usually negotiators tried a hint of subtlety, like a disarming joke or a distracting compliment. Still, it wasn’t a bad attempt, and there was no peace needed, at least...not yet.
“Right you are, friend. This place is quite lovely. Heit. Pleasure to meet you,” he said, introducing himself and offering a friendly handshake.

As expected of a Saiyan, he kept staring at the being. He couldn't wrap his head around why he was being so irritating - though, after some thought, it was clear he wasn't the only one in the wrong. If he'd approached the man differently, their interaction would've been less annoying to him and the others in the restaurant. Maybe the being was trying to be nice, considering he walked into the store dragging piles of snow with him.
The inhabitants of this planet were odd. Back in Beppa, no one would've offered to help him. Instead, they'd take advantage of his current state to take everything he owned, and he would do the same to them if their roles were reversed.
He looked down at his drink and puffed. What was it made of? It wasn't an alcoholic drink, but it tasted just as good and helped him deal witn the cold. He consumed it too quickly to savour it, but from the many gulps he took, it wasn't... bad.
Thanks to the restaurant's warmth, he was able to return to his normal temperature. Yet, he still couldn't understand this place's atmosphere. Why did it feel so much like... home? The home he never had but wished to obtain. In this place, he felt cosy. Though, in the end, this place just gave him a fake feeling of happyness. His happyness couldn't come from simple, day-to-day activities like travelling or eating in restaurants. The fact that he needed to ask himself about such things meant he didn't know himself as good as he should.
A sigh would leave his lips, as he snapped out of his thoughts and back to reality. Apparently, as he was distracted, the other person he was looking out for sat beside the Changeling, whose name was Heit. His lips parted, indicating that he was about to speak. The whole restaurant quieted down, like if these people wanted to hear him say something threatening to call the police over. "We won't fight, so long as Heit tells me his reason to buy me the drink." His expression took a serious turn.
At this moment, nothing else mattered to him. One would think, depending on the reason, he'd fight the being or not, but...

It was a rather odd request that the Arcosian made; taking Vangreth's drink on his tab even though the Muko-Jin had been nothing but a little foward in trying to stop him and the Saiyan from starting a bar fight that would end up in a city-wide disaster... but he was going to take it nonetheless, no reason to turn down free drinking stuff right? That made him think about how he had no idea what was coming his way for him to consume... oh well... it could not be that bad, since the Arcosian was downing his with relative comfort.
It seemed as if the waitress had seen right through Vangreth's questionnable decisions, and decided to bring him hot cocoa instead of the vaguely requested gin... maybe it was his obvious teen-like attitude or maybe it was a misunderstanding from her part, but at least it would avoid the catastrophe of someone as strong as Vangreth suddently realising alcohol is a thing, and the effects that comes with it kick in unexpedectly. He simply nodded to her with a smile this time, noticing how his previous attempt at being nice had been a tremendous failure, and wasn't going to push more.
Upon Heit's presentation, Vangreth smiled a little wider and shook his hand ever rather gently, maybe a little too soft by usual standards, but that's just who he is.
'' Vangreth, it's a pleasure as well!'' He said innocently as he sipped some of his newly acquires hot cocoa with his remaining free hand.
The Saiyan then continued to talk in a very agressive manner... implying that if he did not like the reason Heit bought him that drink, there would be trouble... now, Vangreth could not have that, and this Saiyan was being... well.... at least behaving like the many stereotypes the Muko-Jin had heard about those from planet Vegeta... which Vangreth knew to be majoritarely false from his experience.
There was nothing much the alien could do about this situation; it would boil down to the reason an Arcosian bought a drink to a Saiyan... which sounded like the beginning of a bad joke.
For a moment, Vangreth would look at the Arcosian, hoping that this situation would not degenerate, but he was already prepared to jump off his stool and send either or both of them flying up in the sky, where they could have their confrontation away from the innocent and fragile Earthlings.

Heit took note of the lack of strength in Vangreth’s grasp, nodding warmly as he was given his new drinking buddy’s name. Heit hadn’t heard a name like it before and wondered where this new arrival had come from. Perhaps he’d be able to ask in a m-
It was at that moment that the Saiyan beside him made his demands clear. Heit had to tell the Saiyan why the Changeling bought him a drink, or else a fight would break out. Heit regarded the Saiyan’s remark carefully, visibly deep in thought. Out of the corner of his two eyes, he saw both of his neighbors at the bar, Vangreth looking… a bit tense to say the least, and the Saiyan looking very serious. The air around all three of them was tense. Heit could feel them both waiting, each for different things, but ready for anything.
The tension was shattered as that same female server emerged from the backroom, approaching the three of us and placing Vangreth’s drinks before him. “One gin, and one hot cocoa… Don’t drink those at the same time,” she said after a moment of thought, before abruptly walking away.
At this sudden intrusion, Heit lost all pretense of worry and started to chuckle in his syrupy voice. A tear formed in his eye as he tried to stop laughing and failed miserably. After a minute of quieting himself down, he turned back to the Saiyan. He’d try a new tactic. Reasoning with the Saiyan.
“I’m not going to fight you, at least not in this bar. Look around, you’re scaring people.” Heit said, before glancing around at the various patrons, most of their gazes glued to the bar. He sighed after a moment, amending his previous statement. “We’re scaring people. Innocent people, just trying to escape the cold. I understand you must be frustrated, but try to think of others. It’ll help you fit in more on this world,” Heit said, offering the Saiyan some advice that sounded genuine. The Changeling wasn’t showing any hostile body language. He took his last sip of gin, relishing the sweet taste as he readied himself for the Saiyan’s reply.

At the beginning, he did consider fighting the being. After all, it was as if he was looking down on him. A clear insult to his pride. If there was something he could do about it, which he could, then he wasn't going to allow it. Then, as their interaction went on, it was revealed that it couldn't have been that- but he wasn't too far off either.
After all, the man continuously tried to avoid the topic. Courge leaned back on his seat, and looked forwards at the staff members. At this point, he was confused. What was this one's deal? Heit's laughter settled it for him. The other man was likely just like the thugs, back at Beppa. His attitude was no different from theirs, attempting to annoy the rest and cause them to dig their own graves. As he saw it, if he were to try anything, the silver-haired one would intervene. He doubted his ability to defeat the two of them- especially when he couldn't tell how strong one of them was.
A sigh would leave his lips, as he stretched his arms back. "I won't fight you. At least, not now, or because you keep avoiding my question." The statement shocked the staff members and the restaurant's customers. A Saiyan, deciding against fighting? As far as they knew, they were warriors guided by their lust for battle and strength! Maybe the confusion was caused by the difference in their cultures, which indeed was the reason why neither of them got along just yet. His tail's feral movements relaxed, as it started to calmly weave from side to side or tap the ground every so often.
"You two; I need that garment for warmth. Where can I get one?" He asked, pointing his finger at a citizen, though specifically their coat. Then, he crossed his arms by his chest, starting to tap his biceps. It was a sign of slight irritation. His expression had relaxed, however. It didn't seem as he was angry. Though, his usual frown remained. "I also want to suggest something. If you show me where to get one and show me around the place, I'll reward you with this planet's currency. It was called... Zeni, right?" He wasn't sure whether Ticoga lied to him or not - though, he trusted the man enough to believe him about the cylinders and their worth.
There were a lot of things he needed to do on Earth. Considering he didn't have an idea on where to go most of the time, having company show him around didn't sound so... bad. He'd show them a survivor's might if they tried getting too close to him, though.

When Vangreth received a second, much smaller drink from the waitress, with a quick warning of not taking both at the same time, the alien looked at the clear liquid and gave it a quick smell, intrigued by its water-like appearance. The odour made it clear that it was not however, as it was very strong and unique, but not all that bad! He grabbed his hot cocoa and began to sip away at it slowly; he would keep the new drink for later, since it was all new and mysterious!
Surprisingly, Heit's laugh began, and with it followed Vangreth; not really sure why he laughed, but Heit seemed to have found if very funny, and it simply just spread to the unsuspecting Muko-Jin! When the Arcosian stopped laughing, it took Vangreth a little while to actually contain it, but since Heit's laught was not there anymore, it had become much easier to do so.
At first, he was alarmed that, while being rational and even a little nice, Heit did not seem to answer the Saiyan once more! However, the atmosphere between the two seemed to have calmed down, implying Vangreth's own tension could be released, and he felt a little less guilty for enjoying his hot cocoa calmy in this very moment.
'' I mean... scaring people is not exactly something I can stop doing, I look right from an old horror movie, that for some reason, had today's technology in terms of special effects. I would be surprise if Earthlings were NOT scared when I walk somewhere, but it usually don't take too long for them to realize I am not a threat... ''
He paused for a moment, warming himself up with his drink.
''... but both of your species... now that's a different story. I have the slight advantage of coming from an unknown one... but Arcosians and Saiyans? I've heard stories about their relation with Earth; of course that turned out to be false the first time I met either of your kind, for now at least, but the average Earthling does seem to have reasoning behind their fear of aliens in general...''
Of course, that would sound out of nowhere from Vangreth, which had been shy and quiet until now, but that was a subject he was observing above all others! He did feel however that he had to clarify another detail.
'' Not that I think it is justified of course, I personally had nothing but great moments shared with both Saiyans and Arcosians; my only bad encounter outside of my own planet was with a octopus-faced general, and let me tell you, that one should be judged by his appearance right away...''
At this point, the mysterious liquid he had received began to draw Vangreth's curiosity a little too much, so he decided to switch drink for a moment and take some of his gin! It tasted strong right from the star! Like it was burning or something?! It made the alien choke for a moment before swallowing, and the feeling just went down into his system.
Visibly embarassed by his reaction, he would blush lightly.
''A-anyway! About showing you around... I done my fair share of 'xploring, I know the goop sdot around here.''
Wait... why was he talking wierd of all the suddent?

Heit failed to hide the grin of joy from stretching across his dark blue lips as the Saiyan sighed and agreed to not fight. Call what had just occurred what you wanted to, but Heit saw it as an absolute win! Sure, he had laughed a little at the Saiyan, but that just made it all the more impressive to Heit! He observed the Saiyan with a closer eye and could see the confusion. Heit recalled how confused he had been when he first arrived on Earth, but Heit hadn’t led with violence. He used his charm and knowledge of diplomacy to ease the Earthling’s worries. This Saiyan didn’t seem capable of doing that to Heit’s discerning eye. At least, not yet. But perhaps with some more advice from a friend…
Heit’s musings were interrupted as the Saiyan spoke once again. While he did, Heit half listened and mostly watched the body language of the rougher looking man. The way he demonstratively tapped at himself and pointed at what he was talking about, almost like he was unsure if he was being understood verbally. Heit grew confused at this thought, but put it aside for the time being, as the Saiyan wanted to purchase clothing and Heit didn’t see that going well if it were unsupervised. Although, Heit did respect that the Saiyan understood the planet’s currency. Heit opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Vangreth to his left, who chose now to add his own opinions.
Heit, polite as always, listened to the alien looking man talk about himself and showed some knowledge of Earthen film. Who was this guy? Heit’s eyes flashed red while Vangreth stopped to take a drink. The man’s power level was… non-existent?
Hmmmm, that can’t be right. Either this man is a total fool, or a master of deception, but either way he seems harmless enough.
Heit stopped musing to himself as Vangreth revealed his knowledge of galaxy-wide stereotypes, and Heit repressed an eye roll. Heit knew all too well how easily frightened most Earthlings could be. If Heit had a zeni for every scared farmer he’d run into in his first week, he’d buy this entire bar. It was clear however that Vangreth meant well and wasn’t trying to be malicious. Heit wondered what the point of all this rambling was, but his patience was rewarded at the sight of the alien-looking man choking on some gin. Heit felt a flash of a strong e urge tio laugh, but offered a concerned look at the embarrassed expression on Vangreth’s face.
As he realized that Vangreth was succumbing to the slurring lull of inebriation, Heit made a pitying expression with his lip pressed to the side. “Yes, the goop sdot. Let’s go find our friend here some sort of coat to wear,” Heit said, before pulling out a good chunk of zeni and leaving it on the bar counter. “For the drinks,” he said to the bartender, earning a friendly nod back. He turned to the Saiyan and regarded him for a moment.
“I don’t think I got your name. I’m Heit. Follow me for some fur garments,” he said, before turning toward the exit and making his way.

"What do you mean by that? I'm neither a Saiyan or an Arcosian. Don't compare me to any of them."
Courge violently stood up from his seat, accidentally pushing it to the ground. He was clearly taken back by Vangreth's statement. He was Beppan. Perhaps his parents belonged to another race, but he didn't. The only relation he had with his parents was his blood, if even that. He didn't want to be associated with them in any way, so he hoped his genes had mutated because of his time on Beppa, though the chances of that happening were minimal.
His parents weren't the only people he didn't want to be associated with. The entire Saiyan Kingdom, who just arrived one day and placed their flag on his planet. claiming it as their own. He despised them for turning their planet into just one more. Beppa wasn't the first. and it certainly wouldn't be the last. The tailed individual had been distracted in his thoughts, looking down at his clenched fist. He felt frustrated and it wasn't only because of Heit, but also his personal problems. He couldn't dismiss his origins. Beppa was the only place he ever called home.
Before, he was so excited to leave the planet, but once he had, he discovered just how painful it was. Perhaps he was overexaggerating. Maybe Queen Kayen wouldn't enslave his people, but would subjugate them to some kind of work. Someone whose goal is to conquer the whole galaxy couldn't be sane, could they be, now? He needed to think over what to do and find solutions to his problems, but right now, he needed to focus on his current objectives.
The man turned around and picked his seat up, returning it to where it was, before making his way for the exit. This time around, he wasn't going to let the cold get to him. He had a tactic against it- one which he should've used before. "If you two are coming with, then we better get to it." He said, waiting for them to follow by the exit. Once they did, he opened the restaurant's entrance and rose to the air, unleashing his energy around his form as a dark flame, which not only kept his body warm but protected him from the snow. It would have to do till they bought the coat... If they did buy it, that was.

While the (non?)-Saiyan seemed to have an outrage about his species, probably a sensitive subject to him or something similar, Vangreth was annoyed at the man's explosive nature, but would not mention anything of it for now, since it was not the right time... and he was thirsty, so that really weird drink would have to be consumed at one time or another, right? His second try went about as well as the first, aside from the fact that he was not choking that bad this time; he was expecting that kind of burn now, the element of surprise was gone.
One thing the Muko-Jin noticed about the Arcosian was a flash of red when he looked at him, following by an expression betraying his confusion... uh... did this alien try to sense his energy? Probably so, and if he was right, then Vangreth knew exactly the questions that were wandering in his head... though the answer would have to wait for another time... he was not about to spill the secrets of his people right in front of an audience everytime someone tried it, right? That would just raise suspicion anyway; in this world, when you have a capacity, it is usually because you have use for it... which was simply not the case for Vangreth.
Then came the time to leave and go to help Courge with the surroundings! Alright, but first... Vangreth turned his head to both his drinks; they were half-full, but he remembered the waitress telling him not to drink both at the same time... uh... he pondered for a moment, thinking about which one he could finish before leaving... and settled on the hot cocoa... the other liquid had him feeling a little light-headed, and he had to be 100% there if he aimed to be a good guide for the not-a-saiyan.
When they arrived outside and felt the cold wind of North City, Vangreth would take a deep breath in before losing his footing and falling towards the saiyan... quickly taking hold unto the man's shoulder, Vangreth then had a flash.
Perhaps I should talk to him about it? Kind of like Zri and her demon complex or something? She did say I was good at that!
This thought went and left in his mind, but it was enough of a plan for him to try it anyway! That could also save the situation.
He pretended he meant to fall, and wrapped his arm around Courge's shoulders, if he was met with no resistance that is.
'' Y-you know... I get it. Y'a don't want t'be a saiyan... ireally do! ''
He paused for a moment, nodding obnoxiously at the saiyan.
'' BUT! Y'have to 'ccept it! 'cause if not, then y'll b'come a giant centaur... and the centaur... oh boy... it wants to destroy stuff... and it hit hard at that! Y'know what I'm sayin'?''
That should help him right? But he needed a conclusion! The most important part of the dialogue!
'' So y'know... don't let the shit stains of your people... stain your species as a whole... make it... make it what you want it to be... 'cause I COULD compare you to great saiyan, I'know one... or two... not important... the point is... uh... I don't.... ''
Oh? It seemed like Vangreth's train of thought crashed, and he was left with a little bit of a blank stare... and if he was still close to Courge, he would step back and look a bit confused.

Heit barely stepped aside as the shaggy looking Saiyan rose from his seat, declaring that he was neither Saiyan nor Arcosian. Clearly, the Saiyans were a sore subject for this guy as they were for a majority of the galaxy. Heit found himself sympathizing with the out of sorts… entity. Heit wasn’t sure what this guy wasn’t a Saiyan, but he supposed he’d have plenty of time to find out, as the aforementioned bid Heit and Vangreth to follow them. Heit chuckled at the fact that his friendly introduction was ignored by the man he’d just been ignoring.
You reap what you sow, I suppose.
Heit spared Vangreth a glance and watched him chug the rest of his hot cocoa, and earn another of Heit’s confused head tilts. Perhaps he just didn’t enjoy the cocoa as much as his two new companions. He placed a hand on his chin as he followed behind the Saiyan and ahead of Vangreth. Heit took in a deep breath of the cold night air, enjoying first contact with the freezing bite, before his head snapped toward Vangreth. Not four steps away from the bar and he’d already fallen. Heit suppressed a chuckle as Vangreth elected to cling onto the Saiyan as he powered up his cold shattering aura of dark flame. Heit’s eyebrows raised in an impressed expression as he admired the flames.
“Impressive,” he said aloud, offering a friendly compliment to the Saiyan, before things took an… awkward turn. The front crest of the helmet of Heit’s bio-armor slowly rose further and further in surprise as Vangreth offered some words of pure nonsense, clearly trying to help in his drunken stupor. Heit had several critiques for the alien-looking man’s ability to offer a motivational speech, but kept those to himself for now. His speech was nice, in theory, but it seemed far too sudden and very unprovoked. Instead, he simply waited as Vangreth talked himself into a silence, and used the opening to get the trio back on course.
“That was… touching?” Heit said, phrasing it as more of a question. He decided to try and find a silver lining, though he knew it wouldn’t help much. “Let’s just go find some fur coats. Quietly.” Heit added with a friendly smile before lifting off of the ground and flying down the street at a modest speed.
“Follow me,” he called back to the pair, before turning a corner and vanishing from the pair’s sight. Heit glided through the cold streets, attracting a few gazes. Every so often he’d glance back to make sure the two were following after him.
Heit slowed to a stop a few blocks north of St. Nick’s and landed with a slide, leaving a wide trail in the snow behind him. Hands in his pockets, his eyes were alight with the glowing neon sign, sporting hues of vibrant yellow frame with a green cursive writing.
Leaf Eriksson’s Winter Apparel Shack Discover our low prices! “Shack” was a misnomer as the store itself was quite spacious looking from the outside. With frequent business keeping it ever expanding, it was easily the largest building in quite a radius within the inner section of North City. The windows were tinted with frost which made it difficult to see inside, but a warm yellow light shone from the store’s interior. Heit waited for his companions to enter first, saying nothing as he admired the glowing lights.
