THE BIG WOD UPDATE™
This is probably the biggest update on WOD thus far, there's no other way to put it. SIGs have been completely overhauled warranting refunds for everyone, new items and buffs galore, the list goes on. This thread compiles all of the general changes and links to where they are listed in more detail. Enjoy!
I) SIGNATURE TECHNIQUES; THE RECKONING AND REFUNDING
Signature Techniques have been completely overhauled! Power and Defense Signatures now have three branches, and many Signature Styles have been reworked or relocated to different branches. Some Item and Assist Signatures have been added or altered. In light of all this, every single character made before 8/12/2020 must have their Signature Techniques refunded (*for free!), and you can apply with you refunded tech slots in Tech Apps as per usual. Be sure to specify it's a refund, regardless of if you chose to spend your refunded slots on normal techniques or SIG slots!
If by chance you had an Item or Assist SIG that is unaltered, you can specify you want to keep it in the re-application thread if you do not wish to replace it, but you still must make a post there specifying such. You can see the new SIG trees in the SIG Page!

Again, all old Signatures are invalid and are automatically refunded due to the complete overhaul.

While we have worked very hard to assure these new and improved SIGs are as balanced and fun as can be, we're still wary for overly broken combinations. If you believe you have found an exceedingly busted combo, please let us know.
II) THE AFTERLIFE AND YOU, BEING DEAD SUCKS LESS
Afterlife-exclusive Items and LTOs have been added! Only dead characters may purchase these, with the exceptions being Ogres and Ghosts- who can purchase non-LTO AL items freely when alive with the addition of new traits for them, and Shinjin can buy both normal and LTO AL items when alive! You can see the new items in the XP shop, and the scheduling + descriptions for the new AL LTOs in the LTO Calender.
Death sucks. But now, it will hopefully suck less with buffs for the Soul Recycler to reduce the pain and hassle of being dead! Escape costs have been greatly reduced, making the "reasonable" revive time about four months of activity. You can see the specific prices in the Soul Recycling Thread. In addition, the Soul Recycler Key has been removed completely from the equation- now all you need to do to qualify for a cheat sheet now is to be reasonably active for the month. Current key holders are eligible for full refunds.
As one last final note, due to the ongoing pandemic and general hardships plaguing just about all of us this year, the activity requirement for the cheat sheets are greatly reduced until further notice. A few posts is all you'll need per month, even if you aren't active all the time. This retroactively applies through the past months from February 2020 to July 2020 as well for current residents of the Otherworld.
III) ITEM BUFFS, NERFS, REMOVALS, AND ALSO TECH REFUNDS
Several items have been overhauled to better scale with their users. Battle Armor, the Blood Ruby and its Pendant variant, The Destron Capsule and Machine now have their potency increased by +x1 every 100k (*200k for Ruby Pendant) PL the user has! Normal Blood Rubies now have a defense debuff after use correlating to the attack bonus as well. Their costs remain unchanged. See specifics in their respective pages in the XP Shop.
The Creation Station now scales automatically with the player, starting with 20,000 PL at minimum still, but can increase in power if their player is strong enough! Their PL will be 15% of their player's PL, should such exceed 20,000 PL. They gain new tech slots every 8k after their initial 20,000 PL.
Nimbuses no longer count to Malus, but you can only hold one at a time to prevent any potential stockpiling of Nimbuses to sell to circumvent the SMM.
Headquarters, Manors, and Capsule Houses have been removed, and any holders of said items are eligible for full refunds via contacting site staff. Gyms and the rest of the structure items can now be bought freely!
The Gravity Device has been nerfed. It caps at x100G now, and gravity threads beyond x60G can only be done once every two weeks. Gravity threads exceeding x100G that were posted before this update will still be graded normally.
The much anticipated technique-refunding Naughty Coupon has been added to the XP Shop for 5,000 XP! Its description is as follows:
" A questionable coupon for some fighting lessons that can help you change your combat style. Permits the refunding of a single technique slot ONCE to replace it with an entierly new technique- you cannot refund the same technique slot twice, and your technique has any upgraded versions of itself (i.e a UA2 succeeding an A1), you must first refund the upgraded versions before the preceding versions. Signature Techniques or Styles can be refunded, but you must use multiple Coupons corresponding to the number of tech slots it cost to purchase them. "
IV) DRAGON BALL HUNTIN' & WISHIN' RULES UPDATES
Dragon Ball hunts have had a tendency to drag-on and overstay their welcome. We've made some changes to make the hunts less commonplace, and streamline some of it a little more effectively, along with clarifying some more things. The inert timeframe has been upped from four to six months, and only one set of Dragon Balls can be active at once. The cooldown timer for the inert set begins when the other set has been used. (i.e: Earth’s DBs wished upon -> 6 months pass -> Namek DBs activate, Earth DBs still inert).
In the case where one of the planets is destroyed, the same set reactivates after the six month timeframe. In addition, during the time where the DBs are inert, a Kami/Guru can attempt to deactivate the Dragon Balls via an Open DE if they so wish. They CANNOT turn off the DBs while they are active.
Shenron and Porunga can be 'killed' by a 1mil+ PL attack from a SSJtier after all opposition is quelled instead of making a wish upon them, increasing the DB intert timeframe from six months to eight in this case. Trying to kill the dragon while there is still IC opposition is ineffective.
As one last addition to revival wishes, Large revive wishes cannot be specified to exclude specific people or groups that otherwise would have been revived under its phrasing.
All of these new rules are added in the Dragon Ball Mechanics Thread.
V) OTHER STUFF THAT DOESN'T FIT ANYWHERE OOPS
DE gains are affected by SMM. Gains are HALVED in DOUBLE MALUS, and are QUARTERED in TRIPLE MALUS and beyond. Added into DE Grading.
Damage Over Time / DoT Techniques are calculated based off their cumulative PL when attempting to dodge with an AFTERIMAGE. Barrier blocking still only accounts for the first tick as per before, and can fully block the DoT if the first tick is completely blocked. Added into Pre-Approved Techniques.
To Vaporize an opponent upon death in a DE thread, you must either kill them with an attack that is 200%+ of their PL, or deal a successful KP attack to their body after the initial killing blow, which others can defend against. Added into Combat Rules.
Mentioning which tech slot you are using is now mandatory when applying for techs in Technique Applications.
