Strong people skills wasn't generally an attribute that many computer-focused people could lay claim to. It seemed the two were generally mutually exclusive, that either shyness or an awkward aura went hand-in-hand with expert tech skills. This assumption, false in many ones, was but one that Wright exploited to his benefit. A confident stride and disarming smile were all it took to completely defuse any suspicion - and so far into his impromptu infiltration of Crop Corporated, it was working like a charm. A rented labcoat and a doctored intern pass were all it took to bypass the first layer of security... though it wasn't all that surprising. The technology and data here was common knowledge or products, and taking any would be equivalent to swiping a soda from the corner gas station. The employees hardly even registered Wright's presence whatsoever, too enthralled as they scurried about with armfuls of papers, work, and paperwork to fulfill.
The security recordings would still be an issue, but one he'd already prepared for once this operation had gotten further underway. It wasn't like the security team bothered checking the cams on this level that often anyway - giving the boy plenty of leeways to work with. Swiping a folder with the word 'IMPORTANT' stamped across it in big, bold red letters was his next step - a quick peek revealing the contents to be little more than aged financial documents, long overdue for a trip to the shredder. Adjusting his pace to a hurried, but still refined gait helped sell his illusion as he came to the second layer of security - the gated doors to the actual labs themselves. The guard straightened a bit, mind obviously not fully on the situation before him as he lazily eyed Wright coming up. "Hey!" The boy said, lacing his tone with a noticeable tinge of embarrassment. "Sorry about protocol and everything boss-man, but uhm, Doctor Rosario requested some important files that got jumbled up in my department... my fault too since I'm new and I just wanna run it back to them-"
Blinking a bit, the guard waved Wright off. "Yeah, no problem kid. Just make sure to get an actual signed writ next time, yadda yadda." A quick swipe of a keycard later and Wright was on his way, a small smirk crossing his lips as he crossed into level two of his plan. The laboratories were a bit more closely scrutinized in regards to staff access and internal security overall, but his destination wasn't any of the offices around here. The information he was after wouldn't be available to even the most senior researcher in this division - at least, that was his assumption. All he needed to do here was keep his head down and pace fast, finding a way into the next division as quickly as he could. The badge hanging from his neck would pass at a passing glance but any scrutiny into it would reveal his ploy. Interns and visitors didn't get this far without an actual escort. "Just what are you hiding in here, 'President'..." Wright mumbled, eyes flitting to and fro from beneath his omnipresent shades.
His two main goals - that being the security room and the sensitive data storage - would unluckily be a ways apart from each other. He'd have to choose what to prioritize in the event that an alarm was tripped. Erasing footage would cover his tracks entirely, but that left Crop Co. on high alert and with nothing in Wright's hands to make sense of. The data he was after was so extremely important that the boy was seriously considering skipping the planet just to secure it. How he'd manage that was a bridge to cross if it came to it. After wandering the myriad of corridors arranged in a nigh labyrinthian manner, Wright stumbled upon an empty break room. Knowing the work ethic of Crop Co higher-ups, it was safe to say that this area would mostly go unused. Discarding the now useless folder in the nearest trash bin, Wright scanned the walls - eyes alert for any sort of pathway. The only immediate thing was ventilation - though he was no fool. It was highly likely that the interiors here had pressure sensors, or contracted and expanded in harsh enough ways to prevent any sort of human-sized being from traveling through them.
Dissatisfied, his vision landed upon a crooked vending machine, pulled from the wall with a gap leading into the inner power plug and plumbing. A toolkit sat next to the dead machine, no doubt awaiting the return of a repairman to finish whatever job had been started here. With little hesitation, Wright marched over to the gap, shrugging off his labcoat disguise and tucking away in the wall's opening as he crouched through the gap. Wright grunted as he stood, already uncomfortable as piping, wiring, and support beams pushed, poked, and prodded at him from both sides. Barely high and wide enough, it seemed, yet still, this plan held potential. It was slow, painful, and monotonous work. Wright's breath hitched, throat clogged with dust particles he'd inadvertently been inhaling. His eyes twitched rhythmically, irritated by the low-light as well as the ambient sparks and flashes of the wiring running through the wall. Half an hour later (the time in which Wright had finally grown accustomed to the strain of this work) the ground gave way, his first leg frantically swinging in the air as he lost his balance. Careful not to yelp in surprise, Wright worked quickly the latch his arm around a loose cable, stopping his descent for but a moment as it groaned, snapping away from its' socket and yanking his shoulder hard enough for the socket to pop.
A flash of pain cut across his face as he fell further, bracing as the confined space twisted his body in an unpleasant manner. The semi-audible thump that rang out as a result of this tumble wasn't exactly a good thing either, and Wright silently cursed his luck. Getting caught at this point would definitely result in some serious jail time if the initial trespassing and impersonation weren't enough. "For a worthy cause..." He whispered, ignoring the bouts of pain that wracked his body. It was a simple manner from here to find a small maintenance grate and break the hinges (as silently as he could... which wasn't very), earning his freedom back into the facility. He appeared to be in some sort of tool or janitorial room, boxes of various appliances, metal pieces, and bottles lining shelves and racks. Battered and worn but not out, he stumbled around in near darkness, hand tracing the wall until a light switch was located. "So close." Crop Co was the penultimate challenge, and if Wright could successfully crack them... well, nothing on Earth would be impossible. The physical part was nearly done, and the chance to test their actual system defenses was nigh. After all, attacking in the world of hacking was far easier than the monumental task of keeping someone out. One chink in the armor was all it took to worm in, for everything hidden behind firewalls and alarms to be taken without notice.
Wright slipped out of the proper door this time, shutting the light off behind him and condemning the room once more to near-total darkness. His eyes wandered to the sight of a massive hangar-like door - thick, sturdy, and with no control panel in sight. There was no way he could penetrate that sort of protection without an immense stroke of luck and lapse in security... and judging by the area and how tight-lipped it was, that wouldn't happen. This was the secret of Crop Co - the technology the President used to exert his control on the galaxy. Wright was sure of that. There was a terminal of sorts not too far from the door, sitting in an incredibly exposed area if anyone were to come by. Pindrop silence prevailed, and even the tiniest of breaths caused Wright to seize with trepidation at the thought of making too much noise. "You're too far to back out now..." He murmured, eyes squeezing shut as Wright briskly walked to the terminal, footsteps clanging loudly in the large empty space. A small jack popped from the back of his wrist-mounted computer, jamming into the port of the terminal and bypassing the initial security gate to skim through raw data. The process wasn't instant, and the minute that passed by as his machine worked away was tense. Most of it was just notations of door access and delivery of generic high-end machine supplies, but one caught his eye. A maintenance log regarding something noted as 'LEO'. Specifically, mentions of 'Lifelink drive' and the servicing on that was mentioned, the text growing more garbled as the rest of the information was still locked behind the actual security gate on the computer he was accessing. "What do we have here..." Wright murmured, working away on the data.
