Background:
Derrick Ottoy was born in the slums of North City. He was abandoned by his parents and left behind at a nearby orphanage, who gladly took him in. Despite growing up in an orphanage that could barely afford basic needs, Derrick grew to love all of the people within, including Arianna Grey, the one who ran the orphanage. Despite having to say many good-byes to all of his friends as they were adopted, he was still satisfied with those that remained. However, that all changed when a handful of gangsters one day started harassing one of the other boys from the orphanage named Caleb. Derrick rushed to Caleb’s defense, and discovered his ability to create pink fire from his hands, severely burning the gangsters and forcing them to retreat. While still remaining close, Caleb and the other were now far more cautious of Derrick now that he’s discovered the power of fire.
Unfortunately for Derrick, the gangsters have returned with more backup, and planned to burn down the entire orphanage. The gangsters specifically wanted vengeance on the one who burned them, so they gathered chemicals that could change the fire’s color to pink, and used it against the building. Derrick tried to help put out the fire, but it spread too far, and the orphanage was burned down to the ground. Everyone survived the encounter, but the other children, including Caleb, immediately turned on Derrick, and though Arianna tried to stop them, Derrick ran away from it all. The gangsters once again corner him, but were careless in attempting to capture him, as so one by one, they all perished to Derrick’s pink flames. Forever traumatized by the actions of that one night, Derrick kept to himself and lived off of preying on other gangsters, stealing their loot, and burning those that got a bit too close.
At the age of 26, Derrick became rather notorious throughout North City, and he was forced to move in an attempt to avoid the police. After moving to Central City, Derrick immediately entered the criminal underworld in an attempt to get rich quickly. After presenting his fire abilities to the boss of the Dirty Snakes, he was immediately sent to work. Since then, he’s found camaraderie amongst the Dirty Snakes. If there was anyone who opposed the Dirty Snakes, they would first have to go through Derrick.
Techniques:
Flamethrower [A1]: Derry gathers a small spark of pink flame in his hand, only for it to suddenly grow in size. The fire in his hands are released in a stream in front of him, burning anyone in its path and dealing 33% PL as damage.
Fireball [UA2]: Derry begins to gather more and more pink fire into his hand and lifts it up towards the sky. After fully charging, the fireball is launched at the opponent, dealing 66% PL as damage.
Flame Snare [VA3]: Derry charges up a small bundle of pink fire in his hands and launches it at his opponent. The ball then erupts into a flame net, wrapping the opponent in flames and damaging his opponent by 33% PL per turn over two turns.
Cremation [SIG]: After grappling the target, pink flames erupt from within the victim, burning them from the inside out, dealing 33% PL per turn over two turns, ignoring 1/2 of an enemy's barrier due to Piercing
Adaptability: Adds an extra variant to Signature Technique - Selected Piercing for Cremation
Drilling: Increase Piercing effect to 75% vs. barriers
