Powerlevel:196,000 Kraktus needed to get off Earth. The whole mess with the dragonballs left a bad taste in his mouth. It was not that he regretted doing it, in the grand scheme it was good for his plans. If the dragonballs were used by Cress, Cress would become more powerful and that was not good for him. Plus in the future someone else would come needing the dragonballs and it start the whole process over again. He was not going to deal with that. What was important now was to find the Stargoons. If he didn't explain himself to them, they may of thought he went soft. But he had a plan, and he needed some of the hero alive. Sure it was not ideal to revive all of them but he didn't have the strength to kill Chromo after he dealt with Cress. Kraktus really should of got the bug to do more so he could of not only killed Cress but got the wish. Kraktus groaned. "Fuck I hate everything right now. I need to find the Stargoons. Hopefully, i'll find them and explain this. Then I'll be able to deal with the hero's. Slowly and carefully." Kraktus walked around checking his scouter to see if anyone strong was here.

Thread PL: 180,000 | Items: Blood Ruby Pendant, Scouter, Battle Armor There was a lot of memories attached to Knutts for Amara. They weren't all bad.
The Saiyan sighed, eyes closed as she gingerly placed her fourth emptied glass unto the counter. A light dusting of pink was visible on her cheeks, though other than that the Stargoon to be wholly unaffected by her excursions into the bar. She'd come to the station on behalf of Kraktus, her current employer, as a place to covertly meet with the other Stargoons and make sure they were all up to speed. That, and something about wanting to explain himself over the fiasco the Dragon Balls caused. As far as Amara could tell... it was basically a sign that it was time for Villainy to go to ground for a while. The mass revival of several strong Heroes, one of which with an extraordinarily powerful ability from the afterlife, meant that attempting almost anything would surely get her and the rest of the Goons killed.
Amara hoped Kraktus wasn't going to use this meeting to push for them to all take action a group... she'd do many things, but allowing her and her faux family to be led to a suicidal end wasn't one of them. There was also the matter of Namek, and how a great score of people were still angered enough to actively search for the Stargoons in order to 'bring them to justice'. What a load of malarkey. Even if the person who ended up stopping them wholly believed in the bullshit mantra they spewed, it wouldn't change the rules of nature. Punishment for the wicked was nonexistent, death was but a temporary slap on the wrist to the determined, and only the figureheads of 'evil' would be killed. The small crimes: thefts, murders, and so on would continue. Innocents would face persecution at the hands of the selfish, and the world would move on without them. "...I think I need another hit," The woman grumbled, rubbing her forehead in irritation.
The Yellow Star was certain that the rest of her troupe had yet to arrive, and that if Ol' Squilliamson wanted to have a chat, he'd find her. It wasn't like the Saiyan was hiding her power whatsoever - so it should be easy enough to pick apart from all the tiny souls writhing about.

Thread Power Level: 130,000 Man, it'd been ages since he'd come here!
Mumbo ooo'ed and ahh'ed at the sights and sounds of Knutts. It seemed to have become a bit swankier than last time, though if only by a small margin. To be fair, the last time he was here there was a guy who got his leg cut off, which coincidentally was how Ashi proved herself Goon material. Compared to that, today's version of Knutts seemed pretty first-rate. Hell, he might even consider it one of the best space-pirate digs out there!
Part of him wanted to lay low; make sure absolutely nobody recognized him and the like. The Goon in him couldn't do it, though. He'd given up on this life once before. Letting himself fall to squalor and grime. If he hid now, he'd be admitting that squalor would be his endgame. So he arrived in his Stargoon digs. The battlesuit fit as well as it always had, and the twinkling black star embossed in the center definitely turned heads.
"A Stargoon? Here?"
"Heh. I wonder whose ass is getting kicked tonight. Wanna take bets?"
The crowd murmured, but quickly quieted when the massive Majin flashed a sour look. He wasn't intending on being rude, but he had some important business to take care of today. Flash and flare was for when Evil was on top. Today it was on the backfoot. He had to wonder if maybe that was partly his fault. Destroying Namek was flashy and all, but maybe their efforts would've been better served on the front-lines. Fighting Earth's Goodiest might have turned the tides in a meaningful way. Instead, the goodie-goods were hogging the spotlight as usual.
It wasn't long before Mumbo arrived at the spot. It was a seedy dive bar, which was saying a lot considering their current location. The name of the bar was a mystery, as the sign had been blown clean off its hinges by someone ages ago. Whenever someone put up a new sign, it too would be obliterated. At this point, it was almost tradition.
"No-Name, eh? Let's do dis..."
The Majin took a deep breath, and closed his eyes. Behind this door was going to be all of his old buds. And they'd probably kick his ass. Maybe he should turn back around?
He pushed the door open, and it swung back into his chest from the force, though its efforts to down him were fruitless. Instead, he stood defiant in the doorway, surprised that only Amara seemed to be here. Hadn't the rest of the gang RSVP'd? What the hell!
Sitting down next to his bud, he clapped Amara on the back with a hearty laugh.
"Hah-hey! It's Yellow! Lookin' a lil red in da cheeks, tho. Should I call Dosu up from Hell? I don't tink he's ready ta give up his color just yet! Beheheh!"
He tapped the bar, and the tender slid over a mug of sickly brown liquid. It wasn't exactly what the Majin expected... Nobody would notice if he magic'ed it up, right? He tapped his finger on the rusty old cup, and the liquid inside turned to thick chocolate milk. Perfect for evil scheming!

Kraktus scouter picked up Amara power again. Kraktus had taken her to this stupid little planet in the first place. He didn't really care to go talk to her over and over again about the same fucking things. But his scouter then picked up a new powerlevel. It was Mumbo's powerlevel. "Finally he is around." He had needed to talk to Mumbo for a long time. He had a lot to talk about. Kraktus walked to the bar. He saw the sign was down and he could see a few people inside. One was Mumbo and another Amara. Perfect. Kraktus walked in and glanced at everyone else in the bar. "The bartender can stay. The rest of you." He lifted his finger. All the other bar patrons were lifted into the air by his telekinesis. Then he threw them right out of the bar. "Stay out." Kraktus walked over to sit down. He glanced at the bartender. "The strongest wine you got." Kraktus sighed glancing at Mumbo and Amara.
"We got a lot to talk about. I'll start with the obvious. I'm a bit annoyed about what happened on Namek and the general saiyan stuff. So I helped the hero revive themselves." Kraktus was blunt and he thought it'd be best to start with the stuff that needed explaining. "You lot may find that counterproductive but I've had a plan for a long time that I want to highlight in its full now." Kraktus waved his hand for a moment as it knocking something aside. "Cress had arrived to take the balls from a bug named Chromo. You lot probably remember him. He helped during that large camp battle or whatever it was. Point is that he wanted to revive all the people who died. Cress, I image wanted power or immortality or something stupid like that. I fought him and used a lot of energy to keep him back. As a result, I didn't have the energy to then go stop Chromo. However, it's fine because now he in my debt to kill Cress. Plus by creating a third foe that the Saiyan Kingdom and Earth will never do what must be done. My goal Mumbo and Amara is to create a war between these two superpowers. This is where your contract comes into my plans. I need a force under me so I can defeat the two superpowers once they weaken one another or to side with the Saiyan Kingdom if it seems Earth is too powerful. After all, for any of my plans to be a success the first of these two superpowers to fall must be Earth. It is critical." Krkatus paused to let these two digest what he had said.

Even as slightly impaired as she was, Amara could recognize the energy of Mumbo barreling her way a few moments before he actually sat down, the Saiyan pushing her face off the counter and rubbing it idly to greet her main boss. His clap alone might have felled lesser men, but Amara hardly felt a thing as she took the gesture in stride, offering a lazy wave to him. "Good to see you again, boss. I was confident you'd show up..." Because if he hadn't, Amara would have tracked him down herself. Again. "We gotta lot to talk about. Oh, and our mutual main employer Cthulu wanted to have a chat." It was here that the Saiyan would bring forth news of Bloom's departure. Just the thought put a damper on her artificially high spirits, but it would only be fair to tell both Kraktus and Mumbo that they were down a color. "Heh, was always weird to me that the blue guy was red and the white Majin was blue." She took a swig from her cup, setting the empty metal container back onto the counter towards the bartender. "Though I guess I don't have yellow skin either... but I got the hair down, yeah?"
She had been about to voice her uncertainty of Kraktus' arrival when the Zoomite himself strode through the door, kicking all of the other patrons out in a move that was certain to be nightmare for their PR later. Ah well. Dramatic bad guys always like dramatic entrances. He sat and blurted out approximately everything that was to be brought up in this conversation, the Saiyan inwardly groaning as she tried her hardest to stay fully lucid for the experience. She made an odd face when the topic of the wish came up, the Stargoon not particularly caring about his plan so much as she now cared about the dozen revived Heroes running around. The baddies had been winning in attrition for the longest time, and now all of that was undone at the snap of some Dragon's fingers... claws... finger-claws. "Yeah I met that bug once or twice. Odd fellow..." Something about him unnerved her. "So you're trying to start a full-scale war...? It'd be a good plan if it would work. Carro is oddly perceptive of any trickery, and now that Nashua is alive again - and stronger than Kayen most likely - then the Kingdom would have a hard time mobilizing against Earth as a whole unless that internal rift was patched over. ...Look you're our employer, and Mumbo is my boss. I'll follow reasonable orders, but maybe we should think this through some more?"

Kraktus was a sight for sore eyes. The two didn’t see eye to eye on evil, but the squid had drive, and that’s what a mastermind needed. Mumbo liked being evil but big grand plans were too far out of his pay grade, let alone his brain grade. When the squid sat down, the Majin gave him a bright smile, before bringing his own drink to his lips and downing half of it. Even for him, this supersized cup was actually hard to drink in one go!
He was hoping that he’d get a reason to sigh once the drink went down, but Kraktus explained he’d decided to help the heroes. How annoying! What was it with villains and going good?! He was about to snap at him, but the conniving schemer explained his reasoning, and Mumbo nodded sagely instead. He tried to eat Chromo once. Wasn’t he bad back then? Maybe trying to absorb him gave him a change of heart. That sucked.
”Damn. I don’t like it, but it is what it is. I don’t much like Cress no moah, but he’s still a villain. Stoppin’ him from makin da wish is real nasty. Don’t do too many moah of dose, or else you might turn good. We don’t need anudda Sensoa...” He turned to Amara as he finished, but quickly turned back as Kraktus explained his master plan.
A Great War? Putting two factions against one another was a super interesting idea, but there were a lot of issues. Goodies were good at solving their differences. Like, really good. Kayen was a beast from what stories he heard, but she still had her head on her shoulders. If that other guy had gotten the crown, this war would be super easy to kickstart. Amara’s mention of someone named Nashua gave him pause, too. Just how many super-powered punks were floating about nowadays anyway!
”I feel like startin’ a war da old fashion way is gonna be tough. Today’s batch of goodies is... good. Like, stupid good. You spit in dere face and they say sorry ta you! It’s like punchin’ somebodies teeth in is Plan Z in dat stupid head.” He smacked his hands together, and ordered another drink. If only Maple was here. He’d think of something crazy. Something bombastic! Something...
”What if we make dem tink da both of dem are plannin’ sometin’! Like, make da Saiyans tink Earth has some big plan, but make da goodies tink da big bad Saiyans have some schemes! We just need to make shoah dat needa soide can actually get real answers from da udda, at least not until dey trow down! How can we make dem not trust each udda...”

Kraktus glanced at Mumbo and Amara. They didn't seem too mad that he had helped the heroes though Mumbo did warn him not to do that much. Kraktus nodded. "I understand. I'll be more careful not to do that. Though you have no worries about me turning to the side of good. Plus I won't be like Sensoa. You know I was the one who first meets Sensoa. I helped mold him but then he fell in love and that made him weak. He tried to return his heart to darkness but it was always soft." Kraktus spat. "Disgusting Demon. If I had not been blasted into space by Banshee I'd of brought him back into shape during that battle on Earth." Krkatus shook his head. Sensoa would of probably just blasted him and even then he had no idea if his intervention would change the battle in any meaningful way.
"Plus Cress insulted me. And I'll be blunt. I'm a bit of an arrogant man. Even if I don't wanna say that, I have some arrogance in me. I have desires to be at the top of my own little food chain. It why I helped dispose of Aizu. Because he had the disrespect to say we were equals when I felt more qualified. Hence why our partnership works well for me. The stargoons are a separate faction from myself. We work together but in a more out of sorts way." Plus he was sure Aizu would phase him out to be a right hand. That the feeling he got between their partnership. Aizu had the popularity and Kraktus was the vicious general who inspired fear. "Cress is also a man who is out for himself. I doubt he cares much for you lot. The wish was pretty unspecific it was all that died in the hunt for the dragonballs if I remember? I know Dosu been missing and last time I saw him he was fighting an ally of Cress. So the wish may have also revived Dosu. Guess that is a good side of this whole wish." Krkatus shook his head unsure if it actually had brought back Dosu but it was a note to at least look into.
As for his plan the two had suggestions which were to be expected. What was he asking for them to potentially do was going to be a big deal and an easy way for all of them to be killed if not done with a certain approach? Amara brought up that people like Nashua would be back and Earth and Vegeta would probably begin to patch some sort. That or Nashua would take Vegeta throne and patch things herself. "That is possible. Nashua is very strong. Close to the Queen. But if Kayen should be defeated she may be willing to work with us to regain that. Saiyans tend to have pride get in the way." Kraktus then glanced at Mumbo also seemed worried. He did have the suggestion they plant some sort of thought that both sides wanted to take each other down. That could work too but Kraktus was pretty sure he formulated it all. "Those are both big concerns. I didn't say we were doing this tomorrow. I wanted to secure the contract for the stargoons because my plan is long term. It may take years. But I'm playing the long game. The other villains want results right away. Like Cress, blowing up Namek to do what? Unite the two factions? Destroy the dragonballs? Those will mend." Kraktus shook his head a grin forming on his lips.
"The first step is to unifying every villainous faction. Currently, we are divided. The fact of the matter is we fail every single time is that numbers and betrayal. Take Sensoa, he was a powerful man, yes but he had his own desires that overcame his desire to destroy the earth. To take it as his kingdom. People like Cress, are out for themselves. They want to be the star of the show. They want to be the big bad villain that everyone trembles but that means pushing aside his allies. Boreal was the same way, he wanted to be the WTF head, he was willing to lose you stargoons over it and paid with his life. Anyone with a problem with Earth or Vegeta needs to be under a unified banner. My Banner. And if they refuse I'll crush them myself. I won't have myself blinded by a faction that motives I don't know. Once that is done we have to asset the status of Earth and Vegeta at the time. Right now everyone just revived they are recovering. While attacking may seem tempting they also unified on protecting this newfound peace. We will eventually need to force conflict. My goal here is to focus on politically attacking Carro position as President." Kraktus raised his hand to once again let the goons absorb his words.

"He might be evil, but sometimes when you let a rabid dog run loose it'll bite you, too. Cress may be a useful distraction, but he's crippled us often enough to the point where the pros and cons start tipping into a negative assessment." The moment of full lucidity was broken when the Saiyan burped, wiping her mouth and blinking. "Barkeep! Another." She barked to the employee who had surprisingly decided to stay despite Kraktus' big show earlier. "I wouldn't say all of them are like that, Mumbo. Take Yogu for example - he's close friends with Carro yet that stupid ass ghost literally tore up a large part of Central City just to try and hit me. He's an extreme example, but the proof still stands. If we wanted to instigate something targeting shitstains like him would probably be our best course of action." She fell silent as Mumbo wandered through his own idea. Something of a double-play type deal. "Yeah. That'll only work if the leader of both don't communicate. And sad to say it but Kayen isn't likely to just shove radio silence in Carro's face. A quick way to get her angry would be to ice that kid she informally adopted and pin it on an Earthling, but..."
There were several reasons Amara didn't want to do that. Chief among them being that she actually respected the Queen and assassinating a child simply to get her to rage was lower than low. "Dosu, huh?" Amara didn't know the guy. He was on Mumbo's good list and apparently a pretty strong fighter with similar tactics to her - that is, blowing stuff up with big damage. He didn't sound too bad... "I'll keep that in mind when I'm back on Earth. He's a Heran, right? The blue people?" Well that could wait for later. They WERE still in what was supposed to be an important meeting after all. "...Wait a minute the barkeep is still here." She squinted at the Alien dubiously. "I mean we could ice him to protect our plans but that seems kinda lame. He does make really good shots." Kraktus mentioned something about uniting the baddies under one banner. Probably the only way they'd manage to win, to be honest. "The Stargoons are living proof that such a tactic works. When all these bad guys form tenuous bonds and team-ups only for it to fall apart... that's when they fail. That's how they die. We're already a step above most of those schmucks."
Cthulu then brought up another point - attacking Carro's social standing. "It'd be easier if he wasn't already mindlessly beloved by the people. As 'President' he has full authoritarian control over essentially everything yet nobody bats an eye." Amara paused, thinking of a recent contact she'd made on a whim in Central City... "Though if you're going to try and run a smear campaign, I already know the guy for the job. Name's Tyler Fibboneshi. Some low-profile high-grade mastermind crook with a penchant for ruining careers and public reputation with words alone. I had originally contacted him on a whim just to push Yogu into further despair for that shit he caused earlier, but if we were to go after Carro himself...?"

Cress ticked just about everyone off, huh? First Kraktus, then the Goons. Hell, he probably carved himself a spot as public enemy number one for the next decade. It was certainly one way to get your name on the history books. Mumbo could respect that, in a roundabout sorta way. What he couldn't respect, though, was the guy's lack of flair. Speaking of, he seemed to have gone completely dark recently, much like Mumbo himself. Hiding was a good idea, but who's side would he be on when the big war broke out?
Mumbo's thoughts were interrupted at the mention of Dosu. "One of CRESS' CHUMPS killed him?!" He slammed his cup down. And-- Wait, he's alive?! HAH! Ya tink so? Dat chump! I knew he'd come back somehow! Leave it to a goodie-good to screw up so bad dey revive one of da toughest Goons I know-- no offense Amara, he's just been around a lil' longah dat's all."
He tried to wrap his head around the idea, letting the other two figure out the finer details of the big plan. Like Kraktus said, this'd be a long con. Something that might take years. Maple and Mumbo tried too often and too early for their plans to work out. Villainy needed time to grow; to fester in the right conditions. "Yogu? Why do I feel like I know dat name..."
The others chatted a bit more, tossing ideas about as Mumbo ordered another drink, which he promptly transformed into more milk. "Gettin' baddies is tough, Kraktus. Us Goons get along swell, but even we're hard ta get in one room, and we like eachudda! I mean, take a look around." Mumbo gestured to the bar, noting that only two of the seven active Stargoons were present. Taking another gulp of his drink, he continued. "And da batch of baddies we got in today's mahket just don't seem inspired enough. Like okay, take dat uhhh... Uhh.. Vocabo? What's his name? Whaddevah, dat foist King guy. Toined sour or whaddeva right? He just kinda killed people. No flair, no plan! Kinda stinky, if you ask me. Lots of todays rotten apples seem like him. No real drive. Kinda sucks. Tryna entice dem is gonna be tough, and kickin their ass is gonna be even harder-- no offense, by the way."
He meant what he said, too. If the heroes had guns, the villains had rockets. Each one of them was packing serious power, at least the ones he heard rumors of. Only problem was lots of them worked alone, or worse yet attacked other villains! There's only so much you can do with a rocket launcher when you've got sixty guns pointed at your head. How did nobody notice this issue? It was super annoying.
"Hey, maybe dis is an oudda-nowhere's suggestion, but... What if we host a tournament?"
Mumbo put his drink down, and began to explain in further detail.
"Hear me out. Let's host a big-deal, crazy expensive tournament. Foist place gets some crazy good prize, and I'm talkin swanky. Maybe not like, Dragon Ball Wish level, but yknow somethin' nice, right? Da goodies will tink we have sometin' bad in da pocket, cuz like, we're da Stargoons? Of course we have some evil plan right? Ting is... We don't!" He stretched his arms out as if this were some big dramatic reveal. "It's just a normal tournament! We invite all da toughest people wit hand-delivered invites, and we rig the tournament so dat somebody wins. Maybe Carro, so we can make it seem like we're in cahoots, yknow?"
He looked to Kraktus, hoping he'd respond positively to the idea. If not, he'd be a little bummed, but hey what were these kind of meetings for if not throwing ideas at the wall?
"I think it'd be good to let us see da kinda opposition we're gonna run into, too, and maybe find some new baddies ta recruit among da crowd. Whaddya tink?"
Post by General Kraktus on Sept 11, 2020 11:54:42 GMT -6
Kraktus grinned as Mumbo seemed happy that Dosu might have been brought back to life because of the wish. Amara also seemed to be willing to go look for him. If they got him to be one more powerhouse So at least there was some positive to this mess. His wine finally came as he took a sip. He turned to listen to Amara as she pointed out that not all the heroes were good for nothing protectors. Like Yogu who was willing to tear a large portion of Central City just to hit her in a fight. “That sounds like him,” Kraktus remembered that he had faced Yogu once before. He was surprised he was still active and alive. But that just meant one more person to potentially worry about.
Kraktus nodded as Mumbo pointed out gathering villains was not easy. “Correct which is one reason I need you contracted. If people won’t follow my plan willingly I'm more than happy to force them. My mindset at this point is if you're not with me you're against me.” But Mumbo had more points in that department like them not being desired or having plans. Kraktus knew this to be the case and it was just another reason they needed him to lead them. They were directionless without his guiding hand. “I already said there have always been three factions. I plan to banner any other faction that is not Earth or Vegeta into my banner. If they refuse we might as well punish them for that. The hero won’t care if we take care of an up and coming villain and we can become stronger by having those fights. Plus it will keep them from getting in our way. I know from my experience I've made enough enemies for a lifetime, on the side of good and the side of evil. I’d rather not be blindsided by a fourth element.”
For his suggestion of going after Carro public appearance, Amara had her own thoughts on the smear campaign. It may not be easy but she seemed to know someone that could be of use to them. Someone named Tyler Fibboneshi. “Hmmm, that can work. We just talk about how he died then came back to life and all that shit. But the big thing is finding someone who can make a president who the heroes won’t suspect as someone working for us. Because it's pointless to ruin Carro's career if another one of the heroes takes his place.” Kraktus would do it himself but he also was sure that put him in the line of fire. Plus he was not confident shape shifting would be enough to go undetected.
Then Mumbo had his suggestion. A Tournament where they had no evil plot. They just rig it for someone to win they wanted to deal with. So everyone assumed they were allies of the stargoons. It was a bit simple but Kraktus saw an opportunity. Mumbo even confirmed this noting that they may be able to find some new villains to recruit. It is also able to scout the strength of the heroes. Kraktus grinned as he sipped his wine. “Well, Mumbo I like this plan. I think that it's not a bad idea. Though I am concerned the hero will just come and blast you all. Afterall, you all did destroy Namek. It is not fun and games anymore. But if you think you all can do it safely then I won’t oppose it. I think it is a wonderful idea. Plus fighting strong foes would help us all get stronger which is something we will need. We mostly like will be outnumbered no matter how many villains we acquire.”

Amara's lips twitched a bit, but she stayed silent out of respect for her boss. Of course, the guy who had been here longer would get respect, that should be obvious. She doubted that this 'Dosu' fellow was stronger than her by now, though. Hell was an isolated prison, and there weren't many training partners around even in the best conditions. Her progress had spiked again, rapidly gaining sets of power as the weeks went by. She was possibly even as strong as LEO herself in base form, though the problem of finding something to surpass Super Saiyan was still present. "I feel like I hit a damn wall on terms of my power progression..." She grumbled aloud, unsure of what to do about it. "I can keep making myself stronger normally, but those massive transformations folks keep pulling out? I have Super Saiyan. And it can and is getting outclassed. Is this really the limit of a Saiyan's power?"
Kraktus and Mumbo discussed the option of 'uniting' current Villains together. "The problem therein is most of the baddies are just straight untrustworthy douchebags or maniacs with goals and erratic behavior so unpredictable that corralling them together is an impossible task. Take Sensoa for a prime example - ego gets so bloated that he decided that the Stargoons weren't 'real villains' because we use strategy and don't just try to burn everything to the ground. If we had managed to get him on our side the current landscape of power could be very different... considering he was one of the strongest beings at the time next to LEO." Just imagine what they could have accomplished had Sensoa actually worked together with them. Yet his own personal ambitions of pure destruction had to come first... and look what that got him. A ticket straight to Hell.
"Of course you plan of crushing the dissenters would ensure we'd have no knives poised to stab us in the back, but that leaves us with a thin supply of manpower. Too many people in the galaxy are 'good' by default, and waking them up from that illusion of life is harder than it seems. You're psionic, aren't you Kraktus? Isn't there any sort of subliminal messaging or straight-up mind control you could possibly learn? That used to be a popular tactic - and a damn effective one at that. Nowadays most of us don't bother with strategy and just try to punch away our problems." Getting some sort of forced allegiance swap would do more than bolster the baddies numbers - it would subtract a good guy whilst adding a bad guy. Doubly effective! "Too bad that farce on Namek basically tanked our reputation. Sure it makes us seem tough, but everyone and their corrupt Grandma hesitates when they hear 'Stargoons' now."
Destroying that planet was a terrible play. Even if they had Dragon Balls, the heat generated on their ass from performing the deed had yet to even begin subsiding. "Someone to take Carro's place, huh... like, say, a native-born Human with exceptional speech skills and someone who we can make loyal to us? I know a guy. A bit rough around the edges, but if we could persuade him to work for us then..." Maybe something useful would truly come from her time in Central City dealing with Gangsters. Tyler's services were starting to seem more appealing, and there was a certain little Earthling named Derrick Ottoy that could fit the bill. "If that's an avenue we want to approach, then I honestly think we have the proper setup to make it happen. Whether we do it or not falls upon both of your shoulders as the bosses of this little plan." Anything that had even the slightest chance of success would have to be absurd in practice. Winning by brute force wasn't an option, especially now that there were more Heroes alive.
"A tourney?" She blurted, confused as Mumbo brought it up. "I guess in theory that could work, but like I said our reputation is more than a little trashed right now. How would we convince any Hero to join in a Stargoon organized event in the first place? They'd either not trust it or try to just murder us on sight. In the off chance that they agree and we run it like normal... then yeah I could see some merits popping up. We'd be gauging them, but at the same time we'd also be getting gauged. Putting all that information out in the open like that is a dangerous gamble."

"No." Mumbo sat up for a moment. "No mind control. I ain't condonin' dat. All it does is make enemies pretend ta be yer friend. Nobody we could actually be helped by will evah stay controlled. Dat's how it is." He relaxed again, and stared into his cup. The idea of mind control was something he was pretty strongly against. Even Chamil's use, which was simply swapping someone's morality, felt wrong. They have to choose evil willingly, otherwise they were no better than The Zoo.
He let the other two debate back and forth for a while, until Kraktus mentioned Mumbo's plan. He seemed into the idea, though Amara had some reservations. While true their reputation was in the red, he felt it a positive. "Dat's exactly why we do it now." Mumbo took another swig of his drink, swallowing a chunk of chocolate. Odds are that used to be something gross before he magic'ed his drink. Thankfully he'd never find out what it was before transmogrification.
"Tink about dis, right? Da people who're gonna show up anyway won't care how bad we look. Da people who might not show up will be more interested right now, because if they're baddies like us, dey might tink we know a ting or two, and if they're goodie-goods, they'll wanna swing by precisely because we seem like big trouble. Da people who wanna stop us would try to even if we just finished pickin' daisies and feedin' the sick. Da folks who'd take a swing fer free are exactly da type we need ta rile up right now. Keep both sides busy, y'feel? If tuff types keep flexin', da meek ones like Carrot Kid will hafta do sometin'. It'll give us time ta get ready for da real show."
It was a gamble, but the goons couldn't have survived so long by playing it safe. Big events and flashy moments were their lifeblood. Backing down now would be like admitting defeat.
"If we die, we die. Dat's da rub. Some chumps showing up ta break up a tournament can't be DAT strong, especially against all seven of us! Oh, and Kraktus too I guess. Dat'd make eight."

Kraktus glanced at Amara as she said she felt she had hit a wall when it came to an increase in power. “Tell me about it. I thought I had the world when I learned to transform to a higher level but it means little. It seems for most of us there is a drying up of power-ups. But that does not mean we can’t get stronger.” Kraktus grinned. “We all shall get much stronger sooner rather than later. With this time a peace that means time for experimentation and evolution.” Amara also pointed out how it’d be hard to unite the villains. She brought out Sensoa and how if he was still around he could be a big help with their plans. “He would have been. I actually nearly got him back. I talked to him before he got himself killed by you all. I was going to gave him Namek to destroy if he helped me. But of course, he for some reason got into a fight with you all. So he ended up dead. Such a shame.” Kraktus shook his head annoyed.
Kraktus glanced at Amara as she asked if he was psionic and if he could manipulate someone's mind to brainwash them. Before he gave his answer Mumbo stepped in and made it clear he didn’t want to start brainwashing people. Kraktus snorted a bit. “Brainwashing people who are weak is not that hard if given time. But at the same time what is the fun in that. Psionics feed on the inner emotion people feel. There is anger, sadness, fear, desire, and so many more things. Making everyone one simple emotion of groveling won’t do me any good. Plus I’m not looking to rule over a ton of people who are subservient. I want to destroy Earth and Vegeta's current leadership and bring myself to power. Maybe I'll blow up Earth just out of pride and it being a spot for dragon balls but other than that I don’t really fancy causing a whole load of destruction. At least for right now.” He would love to brainwash some people but Mumbo was against it and it was foolish to lose an ally over vanity. Unlike Cress or Sensoa, Kraktus didn’t need to be the star. He could level out his ego if it kept his alliance together.
Amara seemed rather confident that this Derrick and whoever he was actually quite useful. “Fine, I’ll meet him at some point. I’ll see if he is worth the time. If he is, we can start working on that. Smearing Carro's reputation as a passive weakling will do wonders. Meanwhile, I’ll use the leverage of making the wish on Earth to portray myself as reformed. If this tournament does not blow up in smoke of course.” If it did of course he’d help the Goons and show his evil ways but he had a once in a lifetime opportunity to pull the wool over the hero’s eyes. They didn’t know he stopped Cress just because he hated him. They could think he did it for the goodness of his sour heart.
Speaking of the Tournament Amara raised her concerns which were quite valid. It would be hard to get anyone to come to a stargoon run event. Kraktus rubbed his chin in thought. That indeed would be a lot of trouble. But the hero’s lust for battle might bring them out of principle. Mumbo seemed to have the same thought, the hero’s would come specifically because of their horrid reputation. He also pointed out it’d keep everyone busy which he supposed was good. If the Hero didn’t know what they were doing they could prepare but if they assumed they were just hosting a toury but actually had bigger plans in the works they would be blindsided when everything came together. Though he also still knew the risk. But at the same time if all eight of them were there. “Hmmm. Well, I am fine with it. It is indeed a risk we need to make a fallback option. Maybe something to blow up Knutts if anyone gets a bit too feisty. That way they will be worried about killing every innocent person here. That or we just kill them. I mean myself plus the stargoons should be more than enough to deal with the average group of hero ruffins.” If all the big boys came it’d be trouble but he was sure if that was the case they pick up the power coming and get out of dodge.

"Alright, alright," Amara held up her hands placating, having only a faint clue to why Mumbo had reacted so... suddenly to her proposition. And of course, controlling another would never be permanent. They only needed them long enough to achieve their goals, then they could join their former friends in the Afterlife. It was slightly confusing given the previous Yellow Star's own use of a similar technique, but the Saiyan didn't want to risk ostracizing Mumbo already. If he didn't want to play it like that, fine. "Look all I'm saying is that no matter how you cut it - we're going to be down on manpower. Few people willingly see the grievous errors in the world, and fewer bother making a radical decision to change it through force. Most of em' are simply content to rest within a miasma of safety and comfort, calling it a 'good life'." It was 'wrong' to kill. Why? What in this universe, where death was so inconsequential, made it so abhorrent? People should be free to fight for their ideals, not chained down to the premise of justice and community. Some, like Mollusc, claimed it was the process of dying that made it so bad... but even he failed to explain how.
Kraktus even jutted in, with confidence that he could possibly change a few minds with his power. Yet without Mumbo's consent, that course of action was null. The Zoomite was presumably smart enough to recognize the need for compromise and cohesion among the group and likely wouldn't do anything out the open that could damage their current working relationship. Even through the haze of her multiple downed cups, Amara was lucid enough to piece together logical arguments. It was, perhaps fortunately or unfortunately, written in Saiyan DNA that weak proof stuff hardly phased her past tipsy. Even so she wasn't fully sold on Mumbo's plan quite yet. He was the boss, so ultimately she'd follow his lead, but the Stargoons were not a hierarchy. Each member voiced their opinion and it was weighted equally. "There are gambles and then there are gambits. This is a gambit - and a big one at that. We just... need to recognize that this is a very risky move for only a modest payoff. True our options are limited elsewhere due to the influx of live goodies again, but is this really the best course of action...?" The Saiyan shook her head, setting down yet another empty flagon. "Whatever you decide I'll go along with, Mumbo."
Wincing slightly at his proclamation of their manpower, Amara looked away and cleared her throat loudly. "Ramen appears to be on an extended vacation period and Bloom..." Here was where the beans were spilled regarding Stargoon Blue. Or, now, former Stargoon. Reaching to her waist, her fingers clicked open a belt capsule, releasing a distinctive blue-hued medallion which she clutched ever so tightly. "Bloom has, for the foreseeable future, officially retired her Goonhood." Plucking the medallion on the table, Amara tried not to stare as she kept her eyes on Mumbo. "She's still alive and bid as all well. So please don't go thinking she got irate or left because of you, Mumbo. Just bad timing that's all."

Amara’s concerns were valid. Incredibly so, in fact. The risk was pretty much through the roof, and the reward was nowhere near it. There had to be some way to keep danger low, if not remove it entirely. Were he a smarter man, surely he’d devise something. Maybe part of the reason the idea enticed him so much was precisely due to that danger.
”No, yer right Amara. I still tink dis is a good play, but I wanna hear what da whole crew hasta say. If we don’t woik as a unit we’ll lose. Same as da goodies.”
Getting out of his seat, Mumbo turned his sights toward the door. ”Eida way, we need permission ta run a tournament. I’ll figya out who runs dis place, and see how the schedule looks.” It might seem strange to the others for Mumbo to be invested in having permission, but he saw that as most important. Rules and regulations were a necessary evil in the world, especially for stuff like this. It was the evil part of necessary that enticed him. The same way he still paid for his groceries when he visited shops, or how he never stiffed the bill. The modern world was teeming with little villains, each committing tiny sins every day. Maple taught him that ages ago.
”Wait... Bloom is out?”
Mumbo sat back down, vaguely crestfallen. First Sando, and now Bloom? Losing goons to combat was one thing, but having them resign was a feeling that stung differently. It wasn’t so much that they turned to good, but that they abandoned evil. Abandoned friends, too.
”Ah well, can’t be helped I guess. I’ll send her a gift basket.” The Majin sighed greatly, and forced himself out of his seat again.
”I tink we should get dese gears movin’ quick like. I’ll track down da udda goons and crowdsource some opinions. If I get da majority I’ll swing back and ask around for a boss. Y’all okay wit dat?”
