Thread PL: 20,000 | Soul Obfuscation (Suppression): 50 | Items: Blood Ruby, Battle Armor, Kili Meter
"Ya know when i heard it was called 'Beppa' I expected... well, not this." Kusari mused aloud, glancing at the forboding and crag-filled landscape of the foreign planet. Suplex City wasn't far from here, and even the capital of this planet didn't exactly look very impressive. "Nobody important would even come here... it'd be a big waste of time," She grumbled. Of course if this journey proved to be fruitless, warping back to Vegeta or Earth with the Jager Ring would be easy. "I guess I can at least... check this place out." No harm no foul. It was doubtful that any information would surface about the movements of the Saiyan Queen or her escorts, but perhaps a loud-mouth Beppa-seijin would be willing to spill any beans in exchange for some money.
Now, why would a lovely and inconspicuous Ogre like herself be searching for such information on a seemingly random topic...? Well, that's a pretty good question. Kusari considered herself a bit more active when it came to searching for potential allies and threats then Fend. Though that was partly due to her ring since Fend had to 'recharge' her natural teleportation. The Saiyan Kingdom was a pretty powerful and mobile force to be reckoned with, and although she didn't really believe Duran's whole speel about how Saiyans were bad for existing and how the Kingdom was also bad by extension, it couldn't hurt to check them out for herself. And the last she had heard, some of the more powerful members of the dwindling dynasty were in orbit around Beppa. Why? She had no idea! That's part of what gathering information was all about. Last she checked this planet was now under the rule of some bloke named Flip. A crime boss that really hadn't committed crimes people cared about prosecuting.
Garbed in her armor and mask for maximum efficiency, nothing could sneak up on her! Be it a machine, an unsensible Alien, or just a plain ol' person, the Oni mask could detect them all. Her goal was Suplex City, and while her ring hadn't put her close enough Kusari didn't feel like sending another ripple across the fabric of space-time just to get a few hundred meters closer to her destination. It's not like anyone or anything would actually be out in wastes like these... right?

In the distance, a massive explosion suddenly blazes, forming a temporary pillar of fire that soon transforms into a mushroom shaped cloud of smoke. The ground shudders, reverberating from the detonation. Several more explosions follow suit, though less powerful, but still showering the air with super heated rock and debris.
Marma's eyes narrow as she unleashes a furious barrage of chops, punches, and kicks. The blows collide against the open palms of Ticoga, who patiently watches and reacts to the attacks with relative ease. The two glide over the landscape at great speed, neither seeming to slow despite the clashing of limbs and explosions that blaze across the ground as Marma does her best to take the crimson Arcosian by surprise.
But Ticoga's unblinking eyes don't seem to lose track of her, no matter what she tried. Suddenly, Ticoga stops and lurches forward, bringing his left knee up into Marma's stomach, stunning the Android. Ticoga's arms rise up over his head, hands clasping together and coming down hard on Marma's back. The Android crashes against the ground hard, bouncing off the cracked landscape, and receiving a hard whip from Ticoga's tail that sends her head over heels across the ground until she manages to gain control of her momentum and land on her feet, skidding several meters further before coming to a stop.
Ticoga lands a few feet from Marma, giving her an appraising look.
"That is better, Miss Marma, much better. Your timing is improving." Ticoga tells the Android, smiling.
"Doesn't feel like it... ugh..." Marma replies, brushing ash and dust off her clothes. "You hit like a truck, you know that?"
Ticoga grins, but his scouter bleats out a warning, drawing the Arcosian's attention. Noticing this, Marma groans.
"Oh, not again..." she mutters, walking over to Ticoga. "Don't tell me - there's another big battle power showing up."
Ticoga throws a smile at Marma.
"Alright, I won't tell you." Ticoga replies, trying to sound impetuous, turning away and following the scouter's detection. "...Hm... it's nearby... this one isn't so bad. Battle signature... twenty. Rather unimpressive, but I have heard rumors that some beings, like Earthlings, can obfuscate their true power. Let's investigate this, shall we?"
"Why do I feel like you're going to get into another fight?" Marma says, exasperated.
"Come now, I hardly ever start the problems." Ticoga chuckles. "Usually, others are the ones that want to attack me. We'll see."
The pair rocket into the air, closing the distance fast as Ticoga's scouter leads them towards the source of the energy signature. After a few minutes, they arrive to find a blue-skinned being. Another type of alien Ticoga was not familiar with - it seemed that Beppa was more of a melting pot than he realized.
The pair drop down through the air, landing ten or so meters from the female. Ticoga's battle jacket clearly bears the symbol of the World Trade Fleet over his left pectoral, but Marma's outfit doesn't match with the Arcosian's whatsoever. Ticoga clasps his hands behind his back, and takes a few steps towards the female being.
"Good afternoon, sentient." Ticoga calls over to her. He reaches up and presses a button on his scouter, confirming that this being was the source of the warning earlier. "I do not believe that I am familiar with your people. Allow me to introduce myself; I am Ticoga. May I ask your name, and reason for coming to this hazardous planet?"

"Wha-?" Distracted for a but a moment, Kusari proceeded to trip over a loose rock... before turning the fall into an impromptu somersault, springing right back to her feet again. "'Sentient'?" She asked in a deadpan tone, hands resting on her hips as the girl shook her head. "Is that any way to talk to a lady, good sir!?" For a moment she sounded genuinely offended, one her hands clutching at nothing in air for dramatic flair. "...Nah but for real though you gotta work on your introduction game. I mean geez I almost mistook you for a robot but there's no way that can be true." ...Oh right, perhaps she should actually introduce herself in return. "Here! I'll show you-" Sticking her hand out with a bright smile, the Ogre continued: "Hello! My name's Kusari, and you are...?" Whether or not Ticoga actually took the handshake wouldn't faze her in the slightest, a finger going to her chin and tapping at it idly in thought. And the 'you are' was obviously rhetorical, seeing as the Arcosian had already given his name prior to the demonstration.
"Do you fly around and ask everyone why they're on a certain planet, or is it just my lucky day?" Kusari replied cheekily. "Sides', that's private matters! I can't just go around telling strange lizard-men and white blob aliens my business all the time. Not only would that be hella slow, but also really dangerous given the circumstances." Maybe she should bother to actually find his true power just in case...? "Oh, hold that thought," With a flourish, her mask was in place, red eyes leering at the duo as a pulse of magic ran through the artifact. Her eyes widened a bit at the results, but the Oni Mask never lied in its determinations. "Wow! Speaking of dangerous, you sure are strong. Super strong! I mean, a max of two-hundred and forty thousand!? Now that's the kind of strength I need to be at some day." The mask was flipped back to reveal her face. "...Anyway, if we're done here I gotta get going. Daylight is burning and I'd rather not trip and fall into a lava crag at night if I can help it."

Ticoga tilts his head as the being responds fairly uncouthly to his and Marma's arrival. This woman, Kusari as she declared, even bothered to try and teach him a proper greeting! Ticoga chooses to take the interaction in stride, but Marma sounds displeased.
"Bwuh... Blob alien??" she mutters incredulously.
But the next action took the both by surprise - this device, this mask, seemingly allowed Kusari to read Ticoga's true power, even in his restricted form?! Wary, Ticoga immediately lets his arms drop loosely at his sides.
"That is an interesting device... So, since you are in possession of such a thing, I should assume that my scouter is incorrect in its reading." Ticoga says, more to himself than to Kusari.
Marma looks at Ticoga, amazed.
"So, at your unrestricted state, you could stand toe-to-toe with Queen Kayen?" Marma asks, stunned.
"I doubt it." Ticoga replies evenly. "Her Highness has far more combat experience than I. Even if my power exceeded her own, I would likely still fall. Never mind her own true power. Now then..."
Ticoga walks up to Kusari, and accepts her offer to shake hands. He was only vaguely aware of the gesture - many cultures seemed to use this physical contact as a way of greeting.
"Per your query, I asked your business because Beppa is currently under the rule of a crime lord, and the system itself is rife with pirates and other ne'er do wells." Ticoga explains. He smiles at Kusari. "I prefer to project an image of guardianship towards those who may need, and accept it. With a battle power of far less than one hundred, that would make you a prime target for the criminal elements that hold this system."
Ticoga's eyes narrow slighty.
"But, between that device, and your apparent safe arrival, I should assume that my own device is being tricked somehow. It wouldn't be the first time I have encountered an individual capable of hiding their power from this technology." Ticoga continues. He then clasps his hands behind his back and turns away from Kusari, walking towards Marma. "I don't know what your business here is, but know that the Saiyan Kingdom is also present in the system. The controlling criminal organization of this world calls itself the Fortuna Syndicate - so you have two entities that you should aim to not cross during your time here. That's just a bit of free information."
"Huh? We aren't going to escort them to a town?" Marma asks, surprised, as Ticoga walks past.
"Miss Kusari has not requested that, nor does she seem interested." Ticoga replies with a shrug. "There is still more for us to do, regarding your training. Come, Miss Marma, we have taken enough of Miss Kusari's time. Farewell, Miss Kusari; safe travels." Kusari

"Yeah, sure. Cause you're blobby and of unknown species - hence an alien." Kusari said with a smile, unaware that the words could be taken as an insult. "Tis' a magical artifact, not a device," She corrected Ticoga chidingly "...And it happens to only work with people its attuned to, just so you know!" It was true. Even if people came after her solely to lay hands on the Jager artifacts, they wouldn't work for them. Her gear needed the distinct pulse of energy found only in her family's bloodline - and no matter how many times she got officially disowned, such blood still ran in her veins. Her mask's ability to - ironically - unmask the Arcosian's true power was obviously a shock, the space lizard seemingly wary now of what other tricks she might pull. Good! He was still a stranger, so a healthy dose of uncertainty would keep her safe if his intentions were secretly malicious. "Kayen?" She visibly perked up when hearing the name. "I mean if she doesn't transform then sure. I bet somebody like her has a maximum of like... millions. Probably."
Super Saiyans and their peers of other species were interesting. Such power didn't come close to the mighty overwhelming strength some of the officials in Otherworld - like King Yemma himself - held, but it was a massive leap from where they were only a decade ago. Ticoga extended a hand, presumably to shake despite the stiffness of the motion. Whether that was form unease or inexperience wasn't immediately discernable. Kusari accepted the gesture, grip light, and smile warm. She wanted to be an uncertainty, not hostile. "Oh, I know this place is a bit dangerous," She agreed, bobbing her head up and down. "But as you've already deduced I can handle myself against most threatening things in the system." The Ogre was content to part ways after that, but a lingering thought drove her to push forward. "Wait up a minute, actually. You seem to know quite a lot about the status of the system and more specifically, have a vested knowledge of the Saiyan Kingdom's presence and movements in the area. Do you think... it would be OK if I got to just see something related to the Kingdom up close?"

Just as Ticoga and Marma were about to leave, the woman calls out to them again. Marma puffs her cheeks, but Ticoga, oblivious to this, turns around as the blue being speaks.
"See something related to the Kingdom?" Ticoga repeats, looking at Kusari quizzically. "I'm afraid I am not sure what you mean, specifically."
Marma crosses her arms over her chest, looking between the other two.
"It is kind of a vague question - do you mean like, a Kingdom ship?" Marma asks. "The only one I can think of would be Queen Kayen's vessel, but I doubt she'd appreciate us bringing an unknown person to her ship."
Ticoga nods, glancing at Marma as she speaks.
"Yes, that wouldn't do. I do not wish to place myself on Her Highness's ill temper." Ticoga muses. He thinks for a moment, and then looks at Kusari. "What in particular are you curious about, Miss Kusari?"
