Mount Five Element was a place of great spiritual connection... yet Violin would be lying if he claimed to only have come here for such mysticism. Attempting to meditate certainly wouldn't be out of place, but his goal was far more physical. In these very mountains, there was a rumored training ground that when properly utilized could forge bonds between the combatants and drastically increase both spiritual and physical strength. It was a gem in the rough, so to speak, on Earth's mystical side. He figured while his kin - and by extension him - were harbored on this planet it wouldn't be the worst idea to seek out and explore things of interest to him. That, and he was really in the mood for a proper spar. The battle between him and Vangreth could hardly be called as such - a mere exchange of a few punches and kicks before it ended.
His gut twisted ever so slightly at the admission of such a thought. Namekians, especially those who wished to lead the people, must be kind at heart. They must be kind and firm. Not... not a warrior like he was born to be. Was it really possible, cleansing himself of this battle tendency? "Öö Porunga, nadad mergen ukhaanaa belegleerei..." such common prayer to the true guardian of Namek was not a common sight to be seen in the open. Namekian culture had shifted to silent prayer and admiration over open words and verses spoken aloud. Even his language and dialect was odd compared to the norm, Violin's mannerisms formed with old tradition and the Mazoku script of Namek rather than Dragon script. He still felt odd among his people. They welcomed him freely, some of the elders and warriors even recognizing him from ages past, yet it was if he didn't belong.
Berith was off somewhere in a city, making use of offered free time to explore and adjust to Earth and its' inhabitants. It would be necessary, since Berith went where Violin went... and currently, he was going to stay on Earth. The wish, he had been told, drained much of Shenron's power and left him dormant for longer than usual. That meant a longer wait for Namek to be restored. His patience was tempered enough to withstand the stretch of time, but expecting the same of his kin was unfair. They had been ruthlessly killed with next to no help, and now their planet - one with its own set of Dragon Balls - was set aside so that a few more might live ahead of schedule? It was disheartening, to put the matter gently.

Thread's PL: 150,000 | Anti-Sense One would think that someone like Vangreth, who was constantly exploring this planet in search of its deepest mysteries in an ever-ending quest of understanding, would have found every major landmarks there was to be found... and yet... while he flew across the sky, his eyes caught the sight of a massive mountain that seemed to be, amongst other thing, an active volcano! Now that was something much more interesting than most other landmarks he had found! Aside from the never-ending stream of fire coming from certain places, the alien could see a variety of effects! Now he knew what he was going to do for now.
Without wasting a second, he went right for the mountain and began to seek for a viable point where he could perhaps enter a cave of some sort? The inside must be even more interesting, as there was bound to be something within this odd place that was the source of all of these phenomenon. When he finally found a way into the maze of caverns he imagined would be under this mountain, he ended up seeing a familiar sight! A specific Namekian he had seen not too long ago, visibly meditating in an open spot, surrounded by a strange mist, which he was not exactly sure of its origin, but he could see things in it.
When Vangreth heard Violin's prayer, he would simply walk toward the warrior, not really making any noise as to not disturb the man's meditation.
I wonder what he is remembering right now... it is true that I did not practice that in a while... perhaps if I...
With that though in mind, Vangreth would get into his meditation position, a simple leg and arm crossed, floating lightly above the ground, and closing his eyes to focus.
Not even a second in, and the terrible sight of the events that had happened about a week ago, mirrors reflecting a monstruous version of himself, surface and had him panic right out of his meditation state, like waking up from a nightmare. He would let out a shout that would undoubtledly snap Violin out of it, if he was still meditating that is.
'' O-oh. I'm truly sorry about that... it seems I am a bit rusty when it comes down to it... I use to have control over that...''
Saying that, he hoped Violin would not be too irritated by his suddent apparition or interuption of his meditation.
'' Oh uh... hi by the way...''

"Satorha." Violin spoke crisply, voice echoing slightly off walls in the inner chamber. His right arm went up, forming a 'quiet coyote' hand sign pointed at Vangreth as he blabbered on. For a moment it was still and silent... then the Namekian let out a small sigh. Touching the ground once more, he straightened himself out and stood, locking eyes with his visitor. "What is ailing you? I've not seen a meditation so full of fear in my whole life... even egglings have accomplished longer periods of concentration." His head shook on reflex, stopping only to gauge Vangreth's reaction. "Did the tales of Mount Five seem alluring to you as well, or is it my energy signature that you seemed determined to find?" The question, in layman's terms, was asking if Vangreth had either purposefully searched for him or merely stumbled across this place. "You do know what this place is... right?" It wouldn't be becoming of someone to enter this sacred place without full knowledge of what exactly they were doing.
"Your eyes cannot tell you a full tale, especially when it comes to a place like this. What appears to be a mystic ring serves as far more... some legends say that it harbors a pool of souls, a gateway to connecting with lost souls in the world beyond ours. The mist is your guide but also your enemy. One must be prepared to watch a path of treachery in order to prove themselves worthy of such a privilege... but more than that." Violin took a deep breath, palms slamming together as he closed his eyes. "A training ground made of resilient stone and cradled by an affable fog. It is said that those who spar here will grow in both bonds and power together, if their souls can harmonize." Stepping back a bit, the Namekian's eyes fluttered open as he looked around. "Truly a wondrous tale. How much of it is true and how much is embellishment by Earthlings, I've yet to discover. Perhaps you'd be interested on joining me in this journey?"
It was an invitation to spar, first and foremost. "Our duel in the sands of Fortuneteller's Desert was hardly a duel at all. While I'm not saying I found the outcome unfavorable, the chance to test myself against such a strong opponent was lost. I can never hope to better myself to such a plateau if I don't learn from those who have climbed to it before. All these beings... these Super Saiyans, these giant machines, these color-coded villains... I simply have a hard time trying to comprehend what exactly allows them to maintain and utilize such extraordinary bursts of power. Purportedly Namekians have done similar feats, yet I can't exactly ask the Kami or Guru seeing as they are missing. This search for extreme power ails me so, but I have come to a strenuous peace with myelf that it must be done."

The first thing Violin said when seemingly snapping out of his meditation was... well... a little too close to home. Vangreth had lost his concentration so fast, it did add to the embarassement that the namekian was able to see through him so easily. He looks away for a moment, in a combination of shame and discomfort, as the words thrown his way accused him of something that just made too much sense for him to even pretend to decline, not this time.
'' Y-Yeah uh... I have no idea to be honest. This place stood up to me as odd, and had this ... strange aura of mysticism. I am quite sensible to magic you see. As for my concentration, I can only agree with you... it seems a recent even has taken a toll deeper than I thought on me. I apologize in advance for any and all misconduct.'' His words, if anything, were sincere.
The story of this place quickly drew Vangreth's attention. There was an aura of knowledge from Violin, he had seem to learn so much about this place, and have a strong connection to it already, while Vangreth himself had trouble creating a bond with anything on Earth, he had to work so hard just to make a friend. The part about it being a training ground made one of his eyebrow raise, such a thing existed on Earth and he had never been made aware of this? For a moment, he wondered if anyone he had encountered before knew about this. He would have to place a mark on his map here, it was slowly becoming his favorite place on Earth... well... maybe equal to East City's crepe stands.
'' I would gladly join you, I've got to admit, your little story got me worked up. ''
Then, the namekian seemingly began to speak about so much strong people he had met... and so much of it Vangreth had never heard of before! SUPER Saiyans? Where they like, regular saiyans with extra power? Giant Machines, that he had seen, alongside Carro, when he met the president, and finally, colored-coded villains... now that just sounded like a super sentai, which he had seen advertisement of in East City. One thing was perfectly clear, Violin seemed to have an incredibly easy time figuring out everything that was going on in the world, or at least Earth... what that meant for Vangreth however, was fairly sad.
'' I can't tell you much that you haven't heard of yet I presume, but I got to say it. I have seen every species on this planet display strenght above their relatives. From Majins to Saiyans, all species seems to have these important steps in their growth. I would not be surprised to hear Namekians are the same, in fact, the other way around would just feel wrong. So if someone is to discover these ancient secrets from your people. ''
After these words, Vangreth would look around them curiously.
'' So... is THIS the sacred battleground, or is it somewhere else? Because I really don't want to damage any of this. ''
Vangreth was back to his sort-of sheepish self.
'' Oh, sorry right! You asked what troubled me... uh... I am currently going through some trouble with ancestors of my people, they are those scary monstruous version of a regular Muko-Jin like me and one of them kind of gravitates around me a lot... so I have been kind of on my nerves in the past weeks...''
Maybe it was foolish to just tell Violin about it, but Vangreth had a need to talk about it at least once... and since he had not seen Zri since she left the planet, it was bound to just burst out at some point when he would feel safe enough to do so.

"You needn't apologize for ignorance of mystical tradition you would have no way of knowing about", Violin replied calmly. "Some people come here to clear their thoughts, that much is true. If something is weighing upon you as a stone does... do not fret when you find it hard to surmount. Strength of the mind is a much more fickle thing than the strength of the body." At least his story-weaving prowess hadn't diminished since his original teachings on Namek so long ago. Vangreth seemed positively enamored by the local legends behind this sacred mountain. "I picked up the habit of learning all I could about a planet's customs, legends, and peoples. As much as I can within the time I have, that is. Stories of mysticism are the ones that fascinate me the most. Possibly because there is a kernel of truth hidden within each tale... after all, some legends get so specific that it can be hard to believe some human just made it up in their free time long ago."
Ah right. Mayhaps he wasn't as specific as he should've been: "Yes. This very place is the battleground of yore... a bit small, but with all this potent energy in the air I can assure you we'd have to be much, much more powerful in order to damage anything. A spar at my maximum should be an acceptable level of force." Vangreth returned to the topic of the things troubling him. Something to do with ancestral woes, this time. "And I would assume that such a monstrous visage comes about as a result of your steadily increasing power?" He inquired, rubbing his chin in thought. "There are two paths towards facing such a dilemma. The first is to ignore such saccharine calls and stay true to your current self... and the second is to embrace it. Not for evil, not for chaos, but to embrace it as an immutable fact of your heritage, and vow to learn control over it."

Gladly accepting the 'offer' of knowledge from Violin, Vangreth listened to his words carefully, trying his best to incorporate his wisdom into something productive for the future. If this place was indeed for clearance of mind, then surely it could help him now that he needed it the most. It was true however, even if he just faced it and got surprised by it, he felt more... peaceful right now. This place did have some sort of mystical aura to it.
'' I think... Yeah, I will make sure to do more of that whenever I arrive at a new planet. Being sensible to this kind of thing, being aware of those kind of legends would surely make for an interesting way of discovering one's culture.''
He simply said to approve on what the Namekian had said, as he did not really have much to add.
When the confirmation that this was indeed the battleground came, the alien looked around a second time, this time with more focus on what made this place such a special little area... and he noticed that the walls had traces of damage over time, but they were incredibly well preserved for something seemingly natural, open to the forces of time and nature.
What brought Vangreth back to the conversation was the theory from Violin about the monstruous ancient Muko-Jins he had heard and seen in the recent months. He though about it for a moment and then lightly shook his head.
'' I don't think it is. See, my people were enslaved for the better part of our history. These creature would have to be really old specimen of our ancestors. I think their interest in me is more of like... a strange fascination? Kind of like one has over a children growing? If I had to guess, he probably wonders if I can become stronger than him. ''
Vangreth smiled at Violin innocently, the namekian's foresight did not quite resonate with the alien as much as it probably should have, but he had not experimented with lost of control yet, and felt pretty good about his own power still.
A moment passed and Vangreth would get into fighting position right after some stretching. This time however, he assumed a stance that was a little more focus than last time, he would visibly rely less on instinct and more on actual technique.
'' Alright, let's see if we can get some more interesting insight if we fight for more than a few seconds.''
Vangreth seemed visibly excited about all of this, with a childish smirk on his face.

"There are certainly worse ways to acclimate yourself to a new planet," The Namekian commented mildly, shaking his head "Say, blowing something up?" To even his own astonishment, the phrase came out more as a joke than anything else. Chuckling dryly, he turned his attention to Vangreth's admission. While his insight was off, that was to be partly expected. Many many factors controlled the realm of the unknown, and wild guesses were little more than shots in the dark. "Well I suppose there isn't any penalty for failing at a guess," He said, a tad bit ashamed still that his own predictions were so far off the mark. "Yet if that is how you feel, it is how you feel. I can recognize when a topic exits my area of expertise, and this is one such time. Mayhaps you have other friends to call upon that could possibly help you with this? I might've been able to something had I pursued mystic training as my forebearers intended, but..."
He followed the path of the Warrior now. While magic wasn't impossible for a physically oriented Namekian to grasp, the sages and members of the Dragon Clan war far more acclimated to such things. Speaking of! It was time for their spar to begin. Vangreth had grown considerably since the desert, but Violin hadn't slacked either. While the gap was still present, he wasn't deterred in the slightest. Strength only mattered to those who wielded it properly, and even with the Alien's more confident and practice-driven pose Violin liked to assumed he would still have a leg up in skill. Training your entire life in a realm of constant fighting and survival would help in that regard quite a bit - one would assume at least. Shrugging off the upper part of his Gi, the Namekian's chest was laid bare as he carefully tucked and folded the garment away into a cubby off the side of the training ground. With a quick breath and a clap of his hands, a vibrant and translucent white aura flared up - a strange set of bone-like armor growing across his torso that would've clearly torn through his clothing had it still be on. "Transforming will close the gap considerably... and I for one wish to have as even a battle as possible when it comes to a spar like this. We fight to gauge each other as warriors, not to win."
With that said, he'd re-enter the ring and enter a simple fighting stance. Unlike last time, however, it was Violin who would take the initiative, rushing at Vangreth to deliver a series of closely guarded strikes. The Namekian's style was defensive and cautious, seeking to probe at the Alien's response and minimize chances for possible retaliation if at all possible. This of course meant Vangreth would have an easier time defending himself from the attacks, but for now, Violin dedicated his energy to his plan. Perhaps he was scoping out what exactly the Alien had done in the time since the desert. New techniques, new style, anything could've happened during their time apart. And failing to recognize that possibility and rushing straight in was a surefire way to be soundly defeated. He knew not what his opponent was capable of yet on the biological side either. It was rather common knowledge that Namekians could regenerate, but Vangreth's own capacity to do so was still a complete mystery.

Vangreth almost chocked on his own laugh when he heard Violin make what the alien assumed was his first joke in forever! His face was pretty obvious too, he had been surprised by his own ability to make a funny statement! The chuckles kept going for a moment as he tried to regain his serious before the fight, he did not want to disrespect Violin by not concentrating on their spar, giving a sub-optimal performance.
The conversation about Vangreth's encounter with an old Muko-Jin was fairly pointless, neither of them had the keys in hand to figure out the whole mystery, but the alien would probably regret not having listened to the Namekian more closely, he was much closer to figuring it out than himself, and perhaps some things could have been prevented. For now though, there was not much else to say.
'' Yeah you're right. Anyway, I don't expect to get much help for that honestly, I like to keep those kinds of problem to myself, as to not endanger someone else in the process. I don't really know someone that could help as far as I know to be frank, I don't even have enough information on it to find that person.''
Yeah, that was about right. What would he even tell people in order to look for answers? And where would he even ask? No, this was something he had to take care of on his own.
Violin seemed to get ready for their fight, which really put Vangreth in the mood for it! Nothing like a good old spar to really get things into motion, is there? He began to jump from one leg to another, visibly hyped to see his partner's strenght, and how much he grew these past few weeks, even if it was relatively short time.
Pleasantly surprised by his first transformation, Vangreth would allow the first few hits to come without transforming himself, he knew if he did, they would be much closer, but still wanted to test his defense against an opponent much stronger than himself, just in case that ever came useful.
Violin's offensive came, and surprisingly, it was much more defensive than he would have anticipated! The alien still got pummeled and could barely hold his guard together as the much stronger Namekian attacked with a sustained rythm, but the fact that he was playing it really safe made it bearable!
After a few of them, and when Vangreth would start to lose against the calm barrage of attacks Violin was throwing at him, he would release his weakest transformation, giving him the power to retaliate against the namekian after his offensive.
'' Alright, enough of that!'' He would say in a taunting voice as he sprung into action, two additional arms growing from his back right before throwing a barrage of agressive and unyielding punches towards his sparring partner! Wether he managed to keep him busy or not, Vangreth would then charge one of his fist with some energy and go for the strike!
'' Void Strike!'' He swiftly shouted as his fist would go right for Violin's guts.

Vangreth didn't transform at first, perhaps wanting to gauge just how strong Violin's own form was. The Namekian wasn't entirely sure what his opponent's maximum was, but he was ready for anything. Seemingly satisfied the Mukojin set about initiating a counter, limbs springing from his body in an unorthodox manner as he attempted to fight fire with fire - or in this case punches with punches. As before Violin was ready for any sign of retaliation, and kept his cool as the flurry of strikes came his way. Each was blocked expertly using the layer of bonelike armor atop his arms, Violin's eyes narrowing in concentration. Even if Vangreth hadn't loudly announced his technique as it was put into motion, the Namekian would've still likely seen it coming due to the spark of power noticeable on the Alien's aura. Violin withdrew, arms crossing over one another as a thin layer of Ki coated them in a dim red glow.
The empowered punch fizzled against the barrier, both sources of energy fading away into nothingness as the battle returned to a neutral state. "You are certainly formidable. Moreso than any other training partner I've had in some time... though I admit that is partially due to my absence from this realm until recently." Even so Vangreth was clearly holding back his full, unbridled strength. That was for the nature of their duel, obviously, but a part of Violin wondered just how far the Alien would be able to push himself. If he truly matched planet-buster tier warriors at his maximum... then it just went to show how far he himself needed to go. Super Saiyans and their equals grew more common by the day, and if Violin continued in this slump of weakness he would be little more than a paperweight against such might.
"Yet I won't give in," Violin took a careful stance with one arm outstretched and the other held at his side. In a burst of speed he attempted to land a single, strong hook to the Mukojin's chin, aiming to send him crashing backwards with the unexpected speed and power of the attack. Regardless of his success, the Namekian would follow up with a mouth beam aimed directly at Vangreth's torso straight after, not giving him a moment's pause in an attempt to keep the battle flowing at a quick pace.

Pleasantly surprised that his stronger attack was blocked by some kind of barrier, Vangreth would step back a little when Violin began to talk, kind of a way to reset their duel a little. Discussion in spar were his favorites, because there was a certain honesty and brute quality to the whole operation, people just seemed more honest with him and themselves when their spirit was heated by a good fight. This compliment amused Vangreth, he had become 'that' person for some people, and it just game to show just how much he had grown since he was that growing warrior that everybody could overpower.
'' And I have to compliment your stellar technique! A little too defensive for my taste, but you clearly possess an incredible mastery of it, truly something to behold! I am honored to count you as someone I have sparred with and enjoyed. '' He said with a smirk on his face.
Violin's next move was impressive however, fast and strong, a single strike! But Vangreth had figured that the namekian would rely on such attacks, his style being very defensive, his offensive were bound to be 'short and sweet', and as such, he managed to instinctively avoid the blow by stepping back just the right distance for it to miss him. The mouthbeam however, managed to hold him in place for a moment as he tanked the hit and tried to push it back with his bare hands, eventually managing to maneuvre it away from him and towards the sky.
'' Resourceful! I like that! Although I can't help but think it must leave a weird burnt taste in your mouth... doesn't it?'' He asked with an eyebrow above the other, creating a very confused look.
Not to be bested however, Vangreth would return on the offensive, this time, he would try to bait Violin with a punch he started while charging at him, only to purposefully miss the punch, using the force of the movement to spin on himself and throw a spinned kick instead! If that connected, he would then attemp to grapple Violin with two arms on his shoulder, effectively holding him in place, and with his remaining arms would try to break his defenses with increasingly stronger punches, he was no longer attempting to outspeed the namekian, but rather break his guard with sheer strenght and repetition! Finally, if he managed to create that opening, he would uppercut the Namekian in the jaw and send him flying.
