Thread's PL: 152,000 / Anti-Sense: active / Eldritch Power is active for x3p --> PL: 456,000
A few days had passed since Vangreth got absolutely destroyed by an opponent greater than anything he had previously seen... days where the alien's body had been regenerating parts after parts until it would be able to restart. Fortunately for anything on landing, Vangreth ended up crashing in the Diablo Desert, where nothing could really be harmed too much from the massive crater he formed upon arrival. While the sands had covered the hole, it was about to re-emerge, as Vangreth began to finally wake up.
The first thing he felt was pain... and strangely enough, it seemed his body had judged necessary to use one of his forms... probably to help with the potency of his regeneration, or maybe it was because of the pain. After a few trial, he would manage to gather enough force to emerge from the sand coffin that created itself on top of him, sending a decent amount of sand in the air as he finally could take a deep breath, something much needed after barely surviving an attack that should have been fatal by all meaning of the word.
'' Alright... at least she kept THAT promise. ''
His jaw popped a few times when he spoke, there was sand in his mouth, and it had not moved for a while. Every movement he made was followed by a cracking noise... his whole body felt rought and painful, but like last time, the pain was bareable.
The real issue right now, was food and water. While the muko-jin as a species did not need that many nutrient, his body was craving for something positive after non-stop work for a few days. Luckily, there was an oasis not so far away, so he jumped his way towards that little body of water he could surely exploit.
When he reached this little piece of miracle, he had no time for finesse or anything, so he just plundged his head right into the water and began to drink it to his content, not really paying attention to anyone that could be watching.
You survived out of pure chance. She could have killed you by accident. You're still too weak for me to come out.
Here came that voice again... who did this voice in his head thought he was? Vangreth got his head out of the water.
'' Well it's not like you've been of much help against that did you? So shut your metaphorical mouth before I find a mirror and destroy it again!''
Yeah... someone watchingn would definitively believe he was absolutely insane... and he could not fault them, even he doubted this was not just his own mind giving himself a critique.

Typha walked through the Diablo desert his sword resting on his hip. He needed to go out somewhere like Konats for a little bit. Just to take in some fresh desert air and enjoy himself. He still had a lot to take care of on Earth before he returned to Konats. There was he had to catch up on and he needed to make sure the Namekians had a place to go and live while they waited for the dragonballs to be restored. It was too bad he didn't have a new radar. That would have helped in this situation. But his old radar had broke during the fight on Namek. As he thought about a solution to that he heard a voice that was pretty loud. It seemed to be someone talking to themselves? Typha glanced seeing an alien figure sitting in an oasis talking to himself as he drank some water. Vangreth power seemed to be invisible to him but his robotic eye picked up his presence? "Odd it just like an android." He had never seen a nonandroid avoid his sense of detection. Typha decided to walk over. "I could not but overhear you talking everything alright?"

The Alien jumped at the sound of someone speaking right behind him. With all that happened, it seemed his sensing ability had gone numb, or something similar, as it had not picked up this person. The moment he turned to look at that humanoid that adressed him, Vangreth's eyes widen! His power, in that moment, was even greater than that mysterious person earlier! Just how strong could people get in base?! His thirst temporarily satisfied, he would nod lightly before another cracking noise was heard, following by the distinct sound of someone in pain, it's not like he would hide the state if disaster he was in.
'' Yeah yeah... no problem at all... just got involved in a fight that was over my head. Trying to protect some farmlands is all, people live from those crops. But it seems that even after my long training and countless power-ups, I am still way under some people.''
His voice was a bit sour, had he been defeated in a close fight, he wouldn't feel like this, but the sheer powerlessness of that last duel just brought to his attention just how powerful people could get. Stronger than him was an understatement.
'' What about you mysterious stranger? I hope I did not disturb you with that sand earlier... if it is the case, I am truly sorry. ''
After these words, Vangreth would get up, his head still soaked and hair down, and would offer his hand towards Typha, as a sign of good will. While he was having a bad day, there was no reason for him to not meet someone interesting right? Who knows, that person might just teach him a thing or two about not fighting against impossible odds sometimes! Even if he still felt like defending the crops was the right thing to do.
'' I am Vangreth, from Muko. I would normally say it's a pleasure to meet you, but I am in pain and would rather not lie about it. Nothing wrong about you though, you seem like a nice person.''
In true Vangreth fashion, he was throwing too many unimportant details at the person in front of him.

Typha tilted his head as Vangreth noted he was just having a fight in his head. "A second split personality or just another being?" Typha wanted to make sure this guy was not another Monster waiting to happen. Especially right now people didn't need a new fearsome villain to fear. He had apparently been in some fight that had been above his pay grade in the farms. Typha could not sense this guy's strength so he really had no idea how strong this person he had faced was. "Well, I'm sure if you meet this person next time you'll be more prepared." That was the best Typha could give. Maybe he could help this guy get stronger. Though he did need to first asset Vangreth's character a bit more.
Typha nodded as Vangreth realy seemed to be having a tough day. He seemed to be pretty ragged right now. He introduced himself as Vangreth. Typha bowed his head to Vangreth. "It is nice to meet you, Vangreth. I am Prince Typha of Konats." Typha lifted his head. It was nice that Vangreth was so kind even after he had gotten beaten up. "But anyway if there is some person causing trouble I am sure I can try to put a stop to that. I would not want anyone to have their farmlands blown away." Typha was maybe a bit too eager to get back to helping people. He had been dead for a while but the urge to help people had not dulled one bit from his two deaths.

Vangreth would simply shrug as the nice stranger asked about the voice he could hear in his head. While he had this little voice for a while now, he still had absolutely no idea what it was exactly. For him, it kind of became just a strange occurance, a little less weird everytime it happens.
'' I would have to say another being? Since I'm pretty sure a split personality would not just pop up like this after two hundred years of life... although it would not be the wierdest thing that happened this year. Surely Earth can impress me a fair share of time still.''
This answer might not have been the most satisfying, but it was all the alien got at the moment. Typha's nice words about his fight made Vangreth smile a bit, and he nodded.
'' That I will. Losing so bad just motivated me to get even stronger than I was. I don't intend on giving up on being a hero so fast. This only proves to me that this world needs more protection, and if I can assist in giving what it needs, then I will.''
The alien turned to Typha and would smile him in a friendly manner.
When this mysterious stranger introduced itself as royalty, Vangreth's eyebrows rose up in surprise. What was someone this important doing on a planet that was not his kingdom? Was he in some sort of diplomatic mission? Why was he alone? So many questions came to the alien so fast, he would have to articulate them before they escaped his mouth in a complete mess. It even seemed like this person was a hero! With this kind of power, the alien warrior was glad to hear such words, having recently suffered the wrath of a strong villain, the thought of even stronger heroes existing was reassuring.
'' O-oh! Well, all the pleasure is mine mister prince Typha! I do not know where Konats is, but I'm sure if someone as strong and polite as you is prince, then it must be a pretty sweet place!''
His voice seemed like a child trying to sound polite and formal, and he was decently formal, but it was clearly not something he was used to.
'' So you're some kind of hero as well? A protector? I was not really the one at the receiving end of the trouble, I just happen to be there at the right, or wrong moment, and wanted to stop the destruction. I don't think this villain really cared who I was personally, just that I could tank her attacks and survive for a while.''
Admitting that kind of hurt for Vangreth, just accepting the fact that he was just a stepping stone in someone else's story, even though he had trained for a long time and progressed so much, was a hard pill to swallow.
'' I wish I could have done more though... maybe she spared those crop fields for now, but next time she's bored, then nothing prevents her from doing the same thing over again... and who knows if I'll be fully healed in time to intervene again...''

Typha smiled a bit as Vangreth joked that it was probably a second being. Apparently he had been alive two hundred years and Typha had to agree it would be a bit odd for a new split personality to just appear two hundred into your life. He didn't know much about trauma of that kind but he was pretty sure a lot of that happened in one's youth. "Well, that is not good. Hopefully, you can solve it. I had an ally that had something like that happen. He ended up killing me. So it important to keep a balance and not allow this second being to take control of you." Typha was unsure if that was helpful but he had to at least give his thoughts.
As for losing it seemed that it didn't bring Vangreth down but he wanted to get even stronger. That was a good mindset. It was important for Vangreth to not to lose motivation after one loss. Typha had lost many fights and if he had given up after any of them he'd not be where he was now. At this guy had a really good mindset. "Well, you are being too kind." Typha waved as Vangreth complimented him. "I have just been raised to be nice to everyone I meet. Good or evil. Of course, the evil ones also learn to respect me when I slap them around a bit." Typha chuckled a bit. When Vangreth asked if he was a hero he paused in thought. "I'd just call myself a good person. I don't think the hero quite fits the bill. If someone needs help I am happy to help them." Typha smiled. Vangreth then explained his situation. Apparently he had faced a pretty strong villain and she had put him through the wringer. While he had saved the farm that was only cause she had chosen to spare it. "I see so you wanna get stronger so next time you don't need her mercy to keep people safe? Is that about right?"

Not good uh? Yeah, Vangreth could see these words being used to describe his situation right now, but this little thing was quickly overshadowed by something Typha said and quickly swooped under the rug, but it left Vangreth in shock and surprise. Was he seeing a ghost right now? He had heard stories of the dead walking the Earth, either to protect those they love or to torment the living to make their existence a living hell... was that what happened here? Was Typha here to warn him of his potential future, or perhaps just taunt him with a fear he had.
'' W-wait? You got killed?! Well then, why are you here at all? You seem pretty...''
He paused for a moment and gave Typha a good old poke on the shoulder, making sure his body was material.
'' ... non-ghost to me. Then again, I don't know much about ghost, aside from the fact that they usually look like white draps floating in the wind with two black hole for eyes. However, thanks for your concern, but I have yet to witness this voice do anything other than speak to me about things that are happening and a few spooky things from time to time.''
The alien did not want to worry too much about this issue, because he felt like the more attention it would receive, the stronger this strange entity speaking in his mind would get, and the last thing he needed right now was to actually lose control of his body.
Vangreth could not help but chuckle at the comment about him slapping around evil individual when they need to learn to respect him, something he would like to do when he'd meet evil doers, but both times he did, they were crazy stronger than him and all he could do was either flee or fight in vain.
'' Yeah. The truth is, I cannot rely on the mercy of monsters forever. The fact that they are so much stronger than me, and could end my journey right then and there if the thought crossed their mind... I just can't really take it. Next time, perhaps another villain will simply defeat me and destroy what I was protecting without a care in the world. I need to get stronger, so that I can be a real deal against those individuals. ''
He looked down at his hand as he clenched them, the memory of him punching against someone who did not move or even flinch... what could one do in that situation?

Typha nodded as Vangreth seemed shocked he had gotten killed. "Yes, I have died twice actually. Both times I was revived by the dragonballs. Guess I need to stop them from wasting wishes on me." Typha, frowned a bit. He really needed to try to not die three times. He was sure that basically everybody would be pretty mad if he did that. Hell, he had not even lived another year after dying the first time. Guess he was just stubborn that way. Typha glanced as Vangreth touched him as if not to confirm he was not a ghost or something. "Yah I'm not a ghost luckily. I'd never want to be one of those. I'd just stay in heaven and enjoy my imposed retirement." Unless Konats was in danger. Then maybe he'd have little choice but to break King Yemma's rules.
Typha listened to Vangreth as he seemed aware he needed to get stronger and apparently his foe was way stronger. And it crossed his mind that perhaps next time he fights someone stronger than him they will destroy all he holds dear. Typha understood that after all he had lost a lot of what he loved when Namek was blown to bits. Typha nodded. "So you want to get stronger. Well, I don't know how strong you are right now. I can't really sense your ki. I should check my robotic eye to get a gauge. I'm more than happy to help someone like you get stronger." Typha pressed his robotic eye a few times as it scanned Vangreth. He seemed well built and quite strong. "I don't wanna brag but I'm pretty sure i'm probably one of the ten strongest people in the universe. I'm sure I can help you get a lot stronger." Maybe that sounded like bragging but with the Kaioken he was pretty sure it was not too much of an overestimation.

What?
How could someone have died twice and still be there! Wait, Typha mentionne Dragon Balls... Vangreth had heard of those a few weeks ago from Violin. They were supposed to be those wish-granting device, which the Namekian wanted to use in order to recreate his home planet. This told Vangreth that this Typha guy had some strong friends if they managed to gather those twice already to wish him back to life. His comment on being a ghost paled in contrast to his previous statement.
'' Wow. People must really like you if they went through the trouble of bringing you back twice, you should feel lucky. Having experiences heaven must feel really weird though doesn't it? I mean, if rumors on Earth are to be true, then it is like, the perfect place where everything is possible and perfect... then again, I never heard someone going there and coming back, so that might just not be the case...''
Interogation on the afterlife are fairly new to Vangreth, he never really though about those things before, since he really never feared death as a concept. Until fairly recently, he believed himself to be nearly invincible, having brushed off what he though to be crazy attacks before and stood back up just fine. There was certainly a case to be made about how hard the alien was to kill, but now, he knew some people on Earth could do it if they so desired.
It seemed that at least, Vangreth had reached the upper class of warriors, as Typha admitted to be, to his knowledge, one of the stronger indifvidual in the universe, which the alien had absolutely no problem believing. Then, Typha offered Vangreth what he could only decypher as a training offer. A smile formed on the Muko-Jin's face as he thought about it.
'' Oh I would love to receive your help. Recently, I've been struggling to reach greater strenght, to be honest, I am starting to fear the possibility of me having reached the peak of my species. I surely do not want to give up, but it does feel a little like it has been a while since I've had one of those massive power boost. You know the kind right? When you achieve some sort of new form? All this to say, I am honored that you made me such an offer.''
Vangreth respectfully bowed to Typha, a sign he definitively was not all that familiar with, but had learned recently and was trying to figure out.

Typha smiled a bit. "I think i'm mostly an afterthought in the wishes that are made, I just happen to get revived but I do like to think people appreciate me." Indeed, he was sure many people would want to revive him when he died. But he also didn't want people to wish for him over other people. He knew the risk when he fought agiasnt Monster and the Stargoons. That he could die and end up in the afterlife never to return. As for his question about heaven he shrugged. "Well I guess it's odd to have been to heaven but it not really all that. Sure they got good food but it also a home for the ogres. It just like any other place but any non-ogres are the dead. It is a bit boring if i'm honest. I suppose for someone who lived their whole life it is a nice break from all that action."
Vangreth seemed eager to get his help which was good. He couldn't help someone who was not willing to learn. Vangreth's big problem seemed to be that he couldn't reach a new peak of power. He felt like he had capped? Typha nodded slowly, he had felt that way with his current status but he had the Kaioken. Mastering that had been his focus. He had not been thinking much about improving his base form. He wanted to max Kaioken but the x20 seemed to his limit. Typha rubbed his chin. "Well for me I've gone a long time without a new form or power boost to take me over the top. But that just it for some races it gonna take longer to reach that new level of power but it is no limit." Typha flexed his muscles. "But the first thing that can help is mastering Ki Control. If your Ki control is powerful enough you can enchant your own strength naturally." With a flash of light and without what seemed to be much effort Typha transformed into his Mastered Holy Rose Form. The grass didn't even budge as the aura flared around him. "Control is the start to progress when it comes to power. Without any control your power is worthless."

The more he learned of the afterlife, the more Vangreth felt like it was much less interesting than people on Earth made it to be. First Heaven was not all that entertaining, and now it was home to Ogres! So was Yanwang from heaven all along? Perhaps he also got bored, like Typha, and decided to come to the world of the living? In the end, this ethereal concept of where do you end up when you die just seemed to become less and less mystical, and just another place to be until you don't want to anymore, or people decides to bail you out.
'' Uh... well, let's hope I don't get to see it being boring before a while! I love my peace and quiet on Earth from time to time, but I would not stand it being just passive all the time. It just sounds like a forever calm morning, which is nice until you realize the value of it is precisely that it doesn't last that long, at least, for people like us it doesn't''
Then without warning, and after what the alien would see as Typha's first lesson, he transformed, and his power spiked insanely! Vangreth had some chills when it happened, and would nod in respect, both to his lesson and his display of power.
'' Wow! Yeah, I don't doubt a second you stand amongst the strongest people in the universe. That's an insane amount of energy!''
Saying that, Vangreth sounded both intimidated and in awe of Typha's incredibly power. He would then shit his eyes and began to charge his energy.
'' Control is the start of progress... control is the start of progress...''
He repeated is a few times as his aura flared higher and higher, until it soared and a color added itself to it, created an aura that was a mix of purple and red. The alien's iris became diamond-shaped when he opened them back to look at the grass, previously unphased by Typha's own transformation, was all facing away from Vangreth, he had created a shockwave when he transformed, very little control indeed.
He would turn his attention back to Typha.
'' How do you do that? You looked so cool when you did! But even if I try to slow the process down and slowly build up to it, there is bound to be some kind of 'release' at some point...''
Admitting your failure is the first step towards success, as they say.

Typha smiled as Vangreth noted while he did like the peace of Earth he didn't want it to be passive forever. Typha closed his good eye for a moment. "Personally I've seen enough fighting in my lifetime. It has been twenty-one years and that is enough for me. I'd love to live a mostly peaceful life for however I got left." Though he understood Vangreth view. If the day was always peaceful how could you appreciate it? It was a good thought but for him, he had seen a lot of chaos on Konats and around this universe. He'd like to never see it again. But he knew it'd be a long time before something like that was even possible. There was a lot more work to do before either of them had to enjoy a peaceful world.
When he powered up it seemed Vangreth was left astonished. Guess Vangreth was weaker than him? That was what he got from that. Though considering how strong he was that didn't tell him much. He watched carefully as Vangreth tried to mimic what he had just done. To control his power when he transformed. He watched as Vangreth's power seemed to be increasing. His robotic eye beeped to life as Vangreth transformed. The grass around them was blown away with ease. It was not bad at all. It took him a long time to even get to that. Most of the time when one transformed you blew away a large area. Vangreth then asked how he did that as he tilted his head. "When I died I trained with a very special man named King Kai. He had a special technique I was to learn. But this technique is the most strenuous use of Ki control. Your Ki has to be in perfect sync with your mind or else you could really hurt yourself. So I trained myself hard when I first died and even more after my second death to master this. But the first important thing is to have a focus on your power. To understand it and be able to make it flow naturally."

Post by Vangreth on Sept 12, 2020 16:27:25 GMT -6
For the very first time, someone actually said something about their age to Vangreth... and the moment Typha did, Vangreth's eyes would widen... but perhaps not for the reasons he would have thought. Having lived for about two hundred and seven years, Vangreth had seen battles for the better part of all of this. Although he had been mind controlled for the longest time, he still had that sensation of having lived through that within him... and the fact that Typha was done after twenty one of those made Vangreth think either what he had seen was small potatoes compared to what Typha had, or he had become numb to it.
'' O-oh. Yeah, I hope you will be able to get what you want. Surely someday you will have done enough, and you'll be able to sit back while the next generation of warriors pick up the fight where you left it.''
The explanation of how Typha achieved to control his energy so precisely, while pretty clear on what his training's nature was, had Vangreth thinking that it would be pretty freaking hard for him to learn such control. Typha had so much experience in him, having died twice and even training with some special guy in the afterlife... surely all of that was not available to the next guy to ask for it. If dying was a requisite to now blow stuff away when you transform, then Vangreth would have to accept the fact that stuff are going to be blown up when he does.
For a second, Vangreth nodded, before speaking.
'' So you've trained with a special person in the afterlife and learned a technique that required so much training, you had to die twice to fully master it... Yeah, I can see why you're so strong now that you say it like that.''
It was fairly easy to decipher that this information hurt Vangreth a little, now he knew that everyone he'd met who was stronger than him by a large margin had one thing in common... they all went to the afterlife, one way or another... Yanwang, the Stargoon and Typha, all three of them. Would he have to die to reach their levels? This possibility scared him, because while he did not want to believe what Amara had told him, she did mention that Heaven was reserved to the very best of the universe... and he did not accomplish anything that would allow him passage in his eyes, and well... Hell did not seem like the kind of place he would be welcomed to.
But there was still one ray of light, some hope through all that non-sense.
'' Sooo, since you've trained in these ways, could you perhaps show me what you've learned through your experience in the afterlife? That way, perhaps I won't have to visit it myself to close to gap with all those who did. I don't really want to die in order to pull my weight in dire situation, but its increasingly looking like that's the path I'm currently on.''
His voice betrayed the tiniest bit of fear.

Typha smiled lightly at Vangreth. Guess he had surprised him. He imaged that most people Vangreth meet with the power he had really wanted to fight. Sure, Typha had a desire to fight and get stronger but that not why he desired strength. He only wanted strength to protect. He'd much rather never have to raise his blade again for a serious fight. Though it did make him feel a bit old when Vangreth noted he'd probably like for the next generation of fighters to take his place in the fight. "Ahahha...yah I guess so huh. I got a few more years at this rate though." They were still so many things to do. Cress was still out there and Namek was still destroyed. He imaged that meant at least six more months. But even then there be a lot of new threats to come. But he just hoped it was almost over.
Typha nodded as Vangreth to confirm what he had asked about him needing two trips to the afterlife to master the technique. "And many hours in the living world. But being in the afterlife it's one benefit it that its easier to experiment. You heal faster. You don't have to worry about hurting yourself really bad up there." Typha shrugged. Then Vangreth asked him to show off what he was talking about. Typha closed his eyes. He was unsure if that was for the best. "Hmmm well, I guess I can show you. Though I doubt you could learn it. King Kai my master is the only one able to teach it. But seeing it may give you ideas of how to improve your own strength or do something of a similar matter. Plus you can get stronger without dying. This power-up I was taught is only useful in certain situations. It has many drawbacks."
Typha stepped away from Vangreth and removed his shirt. He didn't want it to get destoyed when he used the Kaioken. He took in a deep breath. "First is breathing. You need your breathing in check. You have to be fully focused. Your mind has to be balanced. That with any transformation. There has to be a focus. Especially with this power-up. Your focus has to be exactly on point." A red aura flickered surrounded Typha for a moment. Typha then looked Vangreth in the eye. "Before I fully power up and use its true strength. I'd like to say three things. First please don't go telling everyone about this, Second keep close notes about what your going to see. You may be able to ever use it but its principles are not solely it's own and third make sure to keep a good distance. I don't want you to get caught in the blast zone." Typha began to focus his ki to prepare himself for a controlled demonstration of the Kaioken.

When Typha mentionned that he had 'a few' more years at this, Vangreth's eyes widened once again, how long was he expecting to live? If he only has been fighting twenty or so years, and was expecting to only fight a few years still... was he at the end of his life? It would make sense for someone this strong to be nearing the end of it, but he did not look old by any means, and well... his life expectancy seemed pretty short as far as Vangreth could tell with that he was told. He would decide against commenting about it though, as it might be disrespectful.
The afterlife just kept getting more complicated the more he heard about it, now it was somewhere you can heal faster? Apparently, damage taken was also reduced somehow, as he said you cannot hurt yourself too bad... what kind of world was the afterlife?
'' Wait, so you can't really hurt yourself in the afterlife? And you heal fast? Now it's sounding like the afterlife is the perfect place to train beyond your limits... which... make sense considering your massive energy. Shame that we can only access it by dying, I would have loved to train there!'' He would say with a bit fo a chuckle, brought on by the absurd things he was saying.
Wait, Typha was going to show him the Kaioken? Just like that? While Vangreth was not really asking for such a display, he would not refuse the possibility of learning some information about it! He listened carefully to everything Typha told him, especially the part where he could not speak of that to anybody. As an answer, he would give a short understanding nod.
A moment of slight embarassement floated when Typha removed his shirt, not that it was particularily embarassing by itself, but the fact that Vangreth was focusing extra-hard on what Typha was doing made it a little awkward. This moment was quickly forgotten when a strange red aura began to swirl around Typha, making Vangreth step back swiftly, the prince would not have to warn him twice about being in the blast zone, once was enough for at least a few weeks, if he could help it.
'' Just how much stronger can you get using that! I can already feel your energy rising, this is insane!''
Vangreth was in disbelief at that point, that individual, who was already stronger than him by some margin, was about to power up once again!
