Only a couple of years ago, the thought of coming back to her former home city seemed abhorrent. After all, why would she come back to a city that was filled with nothing but bad memories? Well, like most aspects of her life, painful memories slowly turned numb as time passed by. Even if some of these experiences still haunted her at night, there was something that compelled Kon to return back to the city where it had all started. The anxiety that she once felt when she would merely think about the neighborhood she lived in was now gone, replaced by a certain emptiness that she could not explain. She had no reason for being here in the first place, so why was she here? Despite all the searching, Kon simply couldn't find the answer to the question, but she didn't need a reason to come back here.
As she walked past the old streets and even the apartment she once lived in, Kon hung her head low, allowing her long hair to fall across her face to obscure her identity. Even if she was an adult now, she didn't want to risk being recognized as the girl who went missing those years ago by anyone who still lived there and remembered her. The only reason she even came by was the fact that sure was positive that her mother no longer lived here, now staying with her stepfather in his house back in Central City and she had doubts that her brother would stop by such a place.
Right, the only reason she could even manage coming back here was due to the fact that she was almost certain that those two wouldn't come on by anymore. She couldn't let all these painful memories hurt her and hold her back, as they only made her weaker. If she could overcome them, slowly but surely, she could finally gain the strength to overcome the two of them. Kon couldn't help but chuckle at this thought. Even after all this time her grudge still remained, smoldering rather than flickering out into nothing. Regardless, she had finished what she had come here to do as quick as it was.
After leaving the vicinity of her old neighborhood, Kon moved the orange locks that were covering her face and eyes behind her ears, satisfied with the progress she had made. If only she could muster up the courage to meet with them face to face once again...

Tarch PL: 225,000 Suppressed to 1
Tarch froze mid-bite of his pizza. The cheese slowly slopped off onto the plate as the teen stared horrified into space. He was sure every worry he had died with him a year ago. While this certainly was no evil entity, it was a source of grave concern. It was an energy rife with sorrow and contempt all pointed toward him and his mother. Without a second thought to his half-eaten pie, the young saiyan bolted from his seat and began his prowl in the streets. All the while he consistently muttered worrisome little spats of semi-coherent ramblings.
“Why is she here? What does she want? How long has she been here?”
“Does she know I died?”
Would she be excited or sad? Tarch’s death seemed to have shaken way more of the earth than he expected. One little kid sent the entire earth and then some into a tizzy. But would she have found out by now? If she did, did she know he was back? Did she even know their mother was alive again? So many troubles flooding Tarch’s mind as he kept a weather eye around each corner as the power level grew nearer. He instinctively threw up his hood. Combined with the now ridiculously long black locks blocking his face, he could pass as the run of the mill teen punk. Y’know, if his jacket wasn’t the most conspicuous and iconic garment in the world.
Either way, the energy was almost right in front of him. What was he supposed to say? Hi sis, Did you hear I died last year? That’s how most siblings talk right? Truly this was a disaster in the making. Speaking of, Tarch was too busy debating his next words to notice a young woman with long orange hair walking by. Luckily this woman seemed to radiate strong energy to snap him out. In a sort of pirouette, the saiyan swerved out of the way before he bumped headfirst into the girl.
“‘Scuse m-!” he nodded toward her, getting a better look at this girl. That was when he saw her. “K-Kon…?” Her hair was wildly different, but this was undoubtedly his half-sister. Heran hair and eyes, but enough spite and anger for any saiyan. “Uhh h-hi… How are you? I died.” It was as if every thought came spilling out his mouth, most of which formed incoherent babbling. Should he go?

No
Nonononono. This could not be happening.
All signs pointed to clear that this quick visit back to her former home would go without a hitch. For a brief moment, Kon actually had hope that things would go well. Now, somehow all the universe had decided to come together just to spite her at this moment just to reunite her with one of the people that she had hoped not to see. Out of everyone in the world that she could meet with again, she just had to run into him right here again? It was like her previous luck had come back the moment she decided she was going to return to this lifestyle.
There simply wasn't a way for her to respond to his statement. Even if she knew that he died already, she simply didn't know how to respond it to him directly. Was he even trying to provoke a reaction out of her by telling her this information the first second they were reunited? If so it failed as Kon simply had nothing to say to him, not even a simple I'm sorry. It was almost amazing how much he tried to repair their relationship, especially after their last encounter when she outright said that she would kill them the next time they met.
Obviously, she was going to have to do a raincheck on her words, although her pride didn't want her to admit it. After the year of inactivity, she knew more than ever that she didn't have the strength to beat him, and the help she had currently wasn't here. Still, Kon was far from interested in a simple conversation about how things have been with her brother. Despite all his wishes, she refused to believe that they still had a normal relationship, cemented by all the previous events that he was glossing over as if nothing had happened.
Instead, she had a second plan. "I'm sorry," Kon said, tilting her head in faux confusion. "But do I know you?"
It was a long shot, but Kon simply did not want to engage in such a conversation right now. Of course, it took every single ounce of effort she had inside her body to uphold such a facade, almost to the point of it feeling strained. Her head was beginning to ache from both the situation they were in and how hard she was gritting her teeth. One thing that never changed throughout all this time was how dense he was and boy did she hate it.

She's sorry huh? Not nearly as much as she should be. Tarch’s expression didn’t necessarily sour, not that it was cheery to begin with. He just went from panicked to let down very quickly. Not that he was surprised by any stretch. Hearing his sister’s voice asking him who he was was a far cry from pleasant. In fact the normally sweet and innocent hybrid actually felt a sizable twinge of bitter resentment. Maybe he should just answer her honestly? Kon certainly had no interest in honesty. Even now though with all of this pent up aggression and resentment building like an overflowing dam, Tarch wouldn't hate her. there were only two people, both dead, that he truly hated.
“No you don’t,” he stated flatly, “but that’s because you never bothered to get to know me in the first place.” That didn't stop his own bitterness from leaking through.
Tarch let out a deep sigh, realizing that both his first and second sentences were completely unwarranted. “Look I’m sorry, I just wasn’t sure what to say. But you try being fourteen and dying to some demon who you used to think could be your friend… Lotta that going around these days it seems." Indeed. Between Sensoa, supposedly Bamboo, Cress to an extent, and his once hero Vocado all turning out evil it was a wonder Tarch managed to hold on to his own goodness so tightly. Hell, even Chromo was once his enemy. Even the sweet winter child Belle had a growing pit of despair threatening to drag her down. Honestly if he found out right now that Ms. Amara was actually a heartless villain at this point Tarch would just give a small but unsurprised whimper. Kon was no exception. Tarch would never forget the literal crushing pain his sister inflicted on him two years ago. All because he wanted his happiness, Kon had to try and stamp out that spark of hope, literally planting her foot on his severely injured chest.
“Please Kon,” he began, his more naturally innocent tone returning, “Don’t make this any harder than it has to be. You know I can sense when people lie but… I don’t want to have to use that on you.” Not entirely untrue. Sensing emotions was always more art than science. Trying to pick up on the subtle shifts in people’s energy that came from their current state of mind was not easy for most people. Seeing if any of that was tied to actual lies was more of a coin toss. The young saiyan would stick to his half bluff. But for as bitter as his sister had become, she didn’t deserve to have her younger brother trying to invade her mind. “We can just talk… right?”

For a brief moment, Kon was confused. Did he actually believe that she didn't know him and would he actually leave her alone? Unfortunately, her expectations were quickly swept away with his next words. It was just as she had expected to begin with, and the reason that she wanted to distance herself from him in the first place. He was resentful, he was upset that she turned out like this. Maybe his words were meant to guilt her into feeling sorry, to force her to apologize or something similar, but Kon simply couldn't feel such emotions. None of them came up, leaving her only with emptiness and the slow burn of the hatred deep within her heart.
Still, she would try to maintain her position. The confusion on her face remained, only intensifying as he continued to speak as she forced the expression as best as she could. Even if her face hurt, she refused to break her facade, she didn't care whether or not Tarch knew, but just why couldn't he take the hint! Kon didn't care about him anymore! Any sort of affection or fondness she once had was completely lost to time and nothing remained there anymore. The only thing that she held now was hatred. She could slowly feel the tears building up from the frustration she felt. Her fingers merely dug deeper into her already balled hands and she was beginning to experience a headache from how hard she grit her teeth together. "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid you got me mistaken for the wrong person." She managed to spit out after a few moments of silence.
Fuck it if he could sense whether or not she was telling the truth. There was no way he was even going to willingly get it out of her. If he really wanted it to come out, he was going to have to pry it her from her one way or another. Just why... Why couldn't Tarch take the hint? She had made it so obvious yet he was resisting so hard. Why couldn't he accepted what she wanted for once. If he truly cared for her, he would just leave her alone! At this point, Kon didn't care how obvious she made it that she knew him. At this point, she was doing it for her pride than anything. Despite struggling to even her breathing, she had managed to blurt out one final sentence before her vision would waver completely. "Please stop talking, you're just telling a stranger your personal business." She said, before immediately taking off, walking as fast while keeping her head down. Silently she would let out a small sound of displeasure. She couldn't bring attention to this scene, knowing that those that paid attention would turn the blame onto her.
As much as she hated to admit it, her brother had gotten her into a checkmate.

Tarch rolled his eyes. Yes it was obvious Kon wanted to be left alone. While their physical differences made them appear like strangers, they seemed to share a familiar trait. They were both stubborn as hell. Neither of them would concede to the other at this rate. The younger brother wanted to get his sister to open up so they can finally put this nonsense to rest and they could both move on with their lives. The older sister wanted to completely forget her life and drive away any remnants of it.
The thing was, Tarch couldn’t leave her alone. Among the many other traumatic events in his life, this was another thing keeping him up at night. Forgetting they were siblings, why should he suffer alone? Why can’t he have his closure for once in his life. He didn’t even need to fight to do it, though Kon was getting close to provoking one. She’s the one that came to HIS hometown. Why should he be the one to disengage?
“Don’t do this,” he whined, turning his gaze to the sky. “You really are my sister, stubborn as all hell,” he murmured aloud though more to himself. “Stop acting like I’m the one who did something wrong.” The hybrid rubbed his eyes. This was going nowhere and fast. He could start throwing blame around as much as he wanted but his sister wouldn’t acknowledge. Worst still he couldn’t even sense any remorse from her. Finally he looked back to Kon.
“Ok, Ms. Stranger. I’m stubborn too, and way more than you. You want to play this game fine, but trust me when I say you really don’t want this.”
With that, his frustrated grimace was replaced with his usual cheery grin. “Oh, sorry Ma’am! It’s just you look a lot like someone I used to know. Besides, I’m very open with strangers.” His grin then turned mischievous, “especially with strangers with such a high power level.” Let’s see her talk her way out of that. New hair cuts and clothes can mask someone’s appearance, but Tarch didn’t even need to be a master of sensing energy to know that this was Kon. Even a novice would be able to at least tell that this woman had a decent power level. “I gotta ask. How did you get it so high?” Being so aloof and casual with the person that probably hated him the most was both familiar and nauseating. Once more he was getting the short end of the deal, having to cater to the person coming to his home and not playing fair. On the other hand, this was probably the closest he would ever come to being a good liar.

If there was a singular trait that Kon hated the most about Tarch, it was his empathy. She never wanted to have it, especially when she knew that it was all for waste. Hell, she hated everyone that she met and tried to "help" her. How many times did she have to lay it out to all of them that she wasn't worth it? At the end of the day, Kon simply wouldn't change and it was best if they were to give her what she wanted: peace and quiet. By now all her former hatred towards her species had dried up, leaving her with nothing but a husk with only a singular reason for living.
So why couldn't he just give up on her already? It would make things considerably easier on the two of them, with Kon finally getting her way and Tarch losing such a toxic influence from his life. Why couldn't he just recognize the fact that she was a tumor already and just cut her out of his life?
The burning tears threatened to spill out of her eyes as she began to walk away from her brother, forcing her to keep her head down and the long orange locks to obscure her face and hide her weakness. "Leave me alone, okay? I don't want to talk to brats like you." She said quietly. Even if she lacked the ability to sense the energies of others, Kon still knew that he was following right behind her and she hated it so much. In fact, she didn't even want to admit the fact that she immediately felt worse the moment he would begin to act like a stranger to her. It was an emotion that she hardly understood, especially when he was essentially acting how she wanted him to. Why couldn't she simply get the closure that she wanted from him in the first place? Was it really too much to ask?
"Do you really just follow people that you don't know around?" She asked through grit teeth the moment that Tarch would finish his sentence. At this point Kon wasn't particularly trying to hide the frustration that she felt, although she would still refuse to acknowledge the question that he had just asked. "Why don't you go back home to your mom for once?" She asked, venom on the tip of her tongue. It was a bit harsher than she wanted it to be but at this point who cares? Kon knew that it was impossible to convince him, so why not just rub it in.

“Brat? Geez lady you don’t even know me and you’re calling me a brat? Look at you, you’re barely older than I am.” Yet not at all wiser. “My mom? Well apparently my mom is none of your business. But hey, I like making new friends. My mom is kinda not all there if y’know what I mean. She’s…” The words Post Traumatic Stress Disorder was thrown around a lot in regards to both Kohlra and Tarch. This ‘stranger’ had no right to know anything about that, but his sister did.
“Ok this is too serious to play with. Mom has something called PTSD. You know what that is? The doctors told me it happens to people when they go through something bad. Their bodies recover but their minds don’t. Said I might have it too. Luckily that’s something you don’t need to worry about Kon. Y’know because nothing bad ever happened to you.”
That was it. Kon won the game at turn two. But in all honesty the rules were so stacked against Tarch that he nearly vomited just from thinking about it. She has no right to be this bitter yet she carried on as if the world slammed her down just for being herself. This girl was barely his sister, or even a person at that. But barely was more than none, which meant Tarch wouldn’t give up on her.
“So what is it Kon? What makes you so much better than us? ‘Oh waaah, my mommy was a punk when she was young and my brother actually loves her! Oh and then he pushed me when I threatened to kill him! Oh I’m so abused...’ Is that it? Is Momma being a former street tough what makes you so miserable? Is that why you hate us? Because if it is congratu-fricken-lations you are way worse than Kohlra ever was. And yet here I am Kon. Talking to my sister because I don’t hate you. I don’t know why either! I’ve been through hell and I still don’t hate you. I saw mom die, I almost killed my brother, both of my role models are either malicious assholes or gave up on life, I DIED… and I still don’t have it in me to hate someone like you. But you? You get your feelings hurt and suddenly you’re right up there with the supreme fricken kais!”
His teeth grit, threatening to grind right out of his gums. His hair began to slowly rise as his eyes flashed a familiar teal. Through all this though, the younger brother spoke with far less toxicity than his sister. The anger was piercing to be sure, but was constantly trailed by the betrayal pouring from the heart being worn proudly on his sleeve. Somehow he thought he was going overboard. In reality she deserved the chewing out of a lifetime, a million times more than he gave. Yet he still collected himself with a few deep breaths.
“Alright. I’m done playing this stupid game. You came here for a reason. Not like you’d go somewhere you hate just to admire the scenery. So let’s make this easy for both of us. No matter what you do I’m not going to lay a hand on you. But you’re going to tell me why you came to MY hometown, admit you know who I am, then, and only then, I’ll leave you to be angry on your own. If you keep pretending to not know me, I’ll just follow you quietly.” Tarch folded his arms, the anger dropping from his eyes and shifting into pleading sadness once more. “Just please Kon… don’t… don’t make this harder than it already has been."

The only response she could even give Tarch in response to his words was an eye roll, not that he could see that behind her orange locks. It still amazed and annoyed her to see how persistent he was, even after all this time. Of course, he would bring up sore subjects, not that she would blame him since she would pull something like that if she was in his shoes as well. However, it still didn't make her feel any better about it. All Kon could do was quicken her pace, stare straight in front of her, and tune out anything, including that annoying brat that was tailing her in an effort to keep her composure. Unfortunately for her bits and pieces of his words would bleed in through her efforts. Why did he keep mentioning that bitch when she had already said she had no interest in hearing about her ages ago?!
Then came Tarch next move, one that had managed to corner her. Suddenly stopping in her tracks, Kon was stunned speechless for a moment, unsure of what to even say. Her shock, was soon quickly replaced by rage. Her body began to tremble as she turned around to look at her brother. How dare he have the audacity to say that nothing bad had ever happened to her? That was it, if he wanted her to reveal herself she didn't give a damn anymore. "You think that nothing bad had ever happened to me before?" She repeated his words. Hot tears began to form in her eyes as the words simply began to fly out of her mouth. "Kohlra just made it worse! She abused me when I was in such a vulnerable state and kept it from me for this long! The hell that I want to train after losing my entire family! And all you did was just stand there, acting like nothing but a bystander when I was suffering!" Until then, she had never verbally spoke of the trauma within her life, keeping it pent up all inside of her till now. Goodness, she hated feeling like this, she hated feeling this vulnerable. Most of all, Kon hated Tarch for forcing her to dig up her darkest secret and admitting it to him in the middle of the street.
Others around her were turning around, staring at the scene in front of them, but she no longer cared. She was done. If Tarch wanted his sister back, he could have her. "I've seen mom die, I almost killed my brother, wah wah wah." Kon said with a mocking tone. "I don't know if that bitch ever told you, but I've actually killed my mom, dad and father when I was young. And you have the guts to say that nothing bad had ever happened to me?! Maybe someone like you deserved to die after all!" Perhaps she did actually cross a line with her words, but it wasn't as if she actually cared in the first place. She truly meant it. If she was going to suffer, she was going to make sure she would bring them both down with her.
After quite a bit of yelling, Kon did her best to regain her composure, although she still could not conceal the malice within her tone. "Do you want to know why I'm really here? I'm here to confront my past so that way I can become stronger and so I won't let it hold me back." She would look up, brushing her hair aside so that she could get a clear view of Tarch and even meet his eye contact for the first time. "It's so I can gain the strength to kill you. I haven't forgotten the promise I made even after all these years Tarch. I fully intend to follow through with it as well, whether you like it or not. I don't care if I have to bring you down with me. But I will follow through with this." Even if the rage was still burning up within her, she found her voice reduced to a monotone, as if she was stating this as it was a matter of fact. This was the only reason she had to live in her life, after everything that had happened.
