Thread Pl: 72,000 | Items: Scouter (Pink) The days until the Snakes' big break is quickly approaching, but in order to make sure everything goes right, Derry decides that he needs to get back into training. The regular bums at the local gym and boxing ring certainly won't do, considering the fact that Derry has far surpassed any normal fighter. He did, however, come to the natural conclusion to go down to South City and train with a certain general. With burning determination in his eyes, Derry quickly approaches the general's apartment building in order to begin his training. Considering General Kraktus' raw power and the fact that the two of them were on good terms, there was no other partner more suited for preparing Derry's body for what's to come. Derry didn't exactly want to communicate to Kraktus using his scouter mostly because he wanted to first meet him at his place just to see what it was like. Was it full of strange gadgets? Perhaps some sandbags? The gangster was most certainly curious. Besides, who doesn't enjoy a good surprise?
He makes his way to the South City apartment complex, and asks the man at the front desk, "Say, do you know how I can get to room 446 from here?" The man at the desk quickly responds, "Of course, sir. Just take the elevator a few doors down the hall behind you up to the fourth floor. There should be signs that direct you where it is." The gangster gives his thanks to the worker and proceeds down the hallway and enters the elevator. For the brief moment that he's in the elevator, he turns on the scouter built inside his sunglasses in an attempt to read the nearby power levels of the fourth floor residents once the doors open.
The gangster finally reaches the fourth floor and is met by a sign that reads, 'Rooms 401-425 to the left, Rooms 426-450 to the right.' Naturally, the gangster moves into the right hallway and begins scanning the floor for any potential spikes in power level. Thankfully, there were no power levels outside of room 446 that were quite significant. They appear to just be normal civilians. Derry finally arrives directly outside room 446 and raises his fist. He gently knocks on the door and states, "It's Derry, I've come to train."

Kraktus glanced as he was watching over some documentaries about tacticians on Earth. He could learn a few things or two from these people. Though he had to admit he didn't find too much useful. They were fighting for a strip of land, he was fighting for the entire universe so he one day destroy it all. So it would be kind of hard to find someone with a mindset that could fit in Kraktus's style of leadership and control. Kraktus glanced as Derrick's voice came from on the other side of the door. Kraktus glanced. "come in." Kraktus would use his telekinesis to open the door. Inside Derry would find a small but well-kept room. He could see the bathroom open with a bath already made and the water was icy cold. That was where Kraktus choose to sleep. Beds were not all that nice, but a bath, in the water like his kin, that was nice. It reminded him a bit of home. Kraktus got up, still in his armor, as usual, he never had a reason to wear anything else. "Good, we will find a place to train right away. We can't really train in this city it brings too much attention. We will head outside the city whenever you are ready." Kraktus began to float to get out of the room and towards the downstairs so they could leave the apartment complex.

Kraktus' voice was audible behind the door and he allows the gangster to come in, but before Derry could open said door, it opens on its own. Once inside, Derry scans the place and notices a rather nice and tidy bedroom, with the tv showing programs showing war documentaries. Inspiration, perhaps? The gangster stands near the doorway as Kraktus tells Derry that they'll need to relocate since training in the city would give them too much attention. "Fair enough, I'm all set and ready to take off as well," Derry replies as he makes his way back outside the room, now awaiting Kraktus. As the general makes his way towards the door, Derry takes out the cigarette box inside of his pocket and opens it up, revealing only one cigarette left inside. Perhaps he should've done some shopping beforehand. He turns to Kraktus and asks, "Do you have a spot in mind around here? Any favorite spots, or do you change spots regularly? Also, do, uh, you smoke?" as the gangster offers up the last cigarette to the general while using his other hand to completely disintegrate the cigarette box using pink flames. Derry wasn't entirely sure how he would be able to smoke one, but he just thought that he could offer one as a kind gesture.

Kraktus glanced at Derry as he seemed fine with moving out. No problem getting out of the city. Then of course he wanted to know where they would be training. "Hmmm, I would say the beach. I enjoy being on this old rocky beach to train. It is close to the sea. It is closer to home." Kraktus waved his hand. "But I don't care much for my home. But after I finish training I could go for a swim and relax." It was also a good time to think on his own. People didn't go looking for him if he was sitting in the ocean. Then Derry asked if he smoked. "No, I don't. I don't do things like that. I need to be in top shape." They walked out of the building heading outside. Kraktus began to float. "Try to keep up." Kraktus began to fly through the air heading towards an abandoned beach that was not that far from here. This of course would Derry first test, could he keep up with him. Kraktus was not gonna make it easy as he was moving nearly as fast as he could. He didn't expect Derry to be able to keep up but to be able to at least be in sight of him as he flew.

Apparently, Kraktus already has a spot in mind: a nearby beach not too far from where they were. According to Kraktus, it makes him feel more at home despite the fact that he doesn't wish to go home. "Yeah, I noticed your ice bath over there. Probably should've guessed that. I'm... indifferent with water myself. I don't mind swimming, but, well, I can't exactly use my powers there, naturally." Kraktus continues on, stating that he doesn't smoke and that he'd rather stay at top physical condition. Derry wishes he could say the same, but ever since John's initial disappearance, the stress has just been too much on the gangster and he's resorted to smoking in order to cope. Once the Renegades are wiped out, though, perhaps he can start trying to quit. After all, constantly going to pick up more and more cigarettes was making a dent in his wallet. Derry places the cigarette into his mouth and proceeds to light it using a pink flame from his finger.
After taking a puff, being careful to aim away from Kraktus, Derry watches as the general begins to float up and takes off to head towards the beach. After a second puff, the gangster follows somewhat close behind, doing his best to keep up with Kraktus. Derry was quite surprised at how fast the general was moving considering his sheer size in comparison to Derry, although Kraktus was likely more powerful than Derry. Kraktus was quickly getting farther and farther away from Derry, so the gangster has to kick in into high gear and attempted to fly as fast as he could, putting a little bit more strain on his body than he normally would. Kraktus certainly wasn't make it easy on Derry, that's for sure. Excellent.

Kraktus nodded as Derrick noted that he was not a fan of water himself, but that was more because of his power. If he was weak to something or could not use his full strength in a certain environment he would avoid that area. Of course, Derry was just a human, he didn't have the same power that Kraktus had. Kraktus flew off and glanced back to see that Derry was indeed behind by a great deal but he had not lost sight of him. That was good, Derry despite his habits clearly had some strength to spare. It didn't take that long for Kraktus to arrive at the abandoned beach. Kraktus slammed down sending sand flying around with enough force to piece some of the nearby rocks. Kraktus looked up glancing at Derry. "Good, you grown strong enough to at least not be so far behind. This is where we are going to train. We are going to be taking this very seriously. You understand that yes? I can make you very powerful but if you cannot keep up then I have no use for you. I don't want to let a weakling run around with so much potential power. You must be strong. Is that understood?" Kraktus crossed his arms to wait for Derry's response.

Thankfully, the general didn't get too far ahead of Derry, and the two of them soon land on the beach after a few minutes of flying. Kraktus approaches the gangster and states that this training session is going to be rather rigorous, and while Derry has certainly gotten stronger, he still has quite a bit of room to grow. "Oh, I hear you loud and clear, Kraktus," Derry responds to the general, taking his time to do some quick stretches. He takes his cigarette out of his mouth and disintegrates it by conjuring fire in his hand. "So general," Derry asks as he puts his sunglasses in his pocket and brushes his hand through his hair, "What ya got in mind for trainin'? Blastin' rocks, hand to hand, or do ya got somethin' else in mind? Whatever it is, I'm ready to go."

Kraktus cracked his neck as Derrick seemed to understand the seriousness of the fight that was about to happen. He was going push Derrick to his limits. If Derrick died, then it didn't both him too much. As for Derrick's question of what type of fight they would be doing. Kraktus sighed deeply, this was such a foolish question. But guess he had to answer it. "Five Mintues. You have to survive Five Minutes. For the next five minutes, I am going to be fighting to kill you. If you can't survive even this then you are not worthy of my time. I don't need people who exude weakness." Kraktus aura flared up fiendish purple ki bubbling to the surface. His eyes glared with fire, and a vicious desire to end Derrick's life. The ground around him would begin to rise. He compressed the sand down into hard boulders empowered by his ki. "Your time...starts now." The Balls launched at supersonic speed causing a thunderous boom as the one harmless balls of sand now pierced through all they passed and aimed to slam into Derrick and deal some serious damage to the human. But Kraktus knew this not put the human down and if happened too, then he'd known for sure Derrick had no potential to grow.

Derry assumes a fighting stance in response to what Kraktus had in mind for him: A survival challenge. Derry tenses up at the thought of potentially losing his life right here and now. "Alright, fine then. Bring it on!" Derry shouts as he sees Kraktus lifting up several compact balls of sand off the ground. Before the timer starts, a few thoughts begin to pop up in the back of Derry's mind: Kraktus isn't exactly the kind of guy to joke around, so he might actually try to kill Derry. What would happen to the Dirty Snakes? The Renegades would still be running amok, and John's death would be in vain. Derry's death will have to wait. Whispers begin to take over the back of Derry's mind, but he gave them no attention, for he was focused on what Kraktus was up to. The general starts the time, and five balls of sand are shot towards Derry in a scattered pattern. He couldn't vaporize them, not in his base form, at least. His flames wouldn't be hot enough to vaporize glass, so he'll have to dodge. He ducks under one, then immediately rolls to the right to avoid two more. Derry stands back up from the ground and jumps to avoid a fourth one that was shot really low to the ground. Derry dodges to the right for the final ball, but he wasn't quite fast enough as it grazes his thigh, leaving behind a tear in his pants and a small yet noticeable scratch. A small trickle of blood emerges from the blood.
Derry turns his attention back to the general, but then closes his eyes in front of them. A few seconds later, he opens them back up, and pink flames now occupy the area where his eyes used to be. Derry taunts, "If you're lookin' to kill me, you're gonna have to do a bit better than that, Kraktus." Now that Derry has transformed, he should be able to not only melt almost anything Kraktus could throw at him, but he'll be fast enough to react to what he was up to. Derry couldn't lose focus, so he once again readies himself and assumes a defensive stance, ready for what Kraktus has next in store for the gangster.

Derrick quickly proved his skill, instead of trying to block he went to dodge. Smart of him he had a lot of time to do it. Despite this Kraktus knew of his own speed and he still managed to wound Derrick with one of the balls. Kraktus raised his fingers to move the balls back into the air to prepare another attack. But quickly Derrick powered up. Kraktus scouter beeped to let him know the increase in power that Derrick had. His powerlevel was now <144,000>. Kraktus grinned, so Derrick did indeed had an empowered state. At that level of Power, Derrick might actually be a good workout for him as well. Kraktus cracked his neck his aura flaring with even more strength. A grin formed on the general's face as he raised his right arm into the air. "Don't think you just can power up and deal with my attacks." The balls he formed combined into one massive ball as his own surrounded it. He then swung his arm down to rocket the ball down at Derrick. Now that he empowered it even more with his Ki, Derrick may find it must harder to destroy then he might expect. Kraktus would not make it so easy for Derrick to get past his attack.

Derry scans the area nearby and notices that Kraktus once again lifts the sand balls into the air, but rather than throwing them at the gangster again, Kraktus instead merges the balls together in order to create a much larger projectile. With Derry's power boost, he would be able to disintegrate each individual ball, but for such a massive projectile, regular fireballs just weren't gonna cut it. Besides, would it be a real display of power if Derry just kept dodging every single projectile?. The solution: Flamethrower. Regular fireballs weren't going to cut it this time, so bringing out some of the big guns was the gangster's only real option aside from dodging. Derry cups both of his hands together and creates a ball of pink flames, yearning to be released. After charging for mere seconds, Derry releases a spiral of flames aimed directly at the center of the giant ball of sand heading right towards him. The flames completely engulf the ball, swiftly turning it into glass before melting away. Whatever chuncks of glass weren't completely vaporized fell onto the sandy beach, smoking at the intese heat produced by Derry's flamethrower. He wasn't keeping track of time, but at the current rate he's going at, this was going to be a piece of cake. Derry, however, knew better than to grow too overconfident around Kraktus, and once again takes a more defensive stance. He can't stay in this form for very long, so if things get a little dicey, he may have to bring out Painful Singe. "Anything other than balls of sand!?" Derry shouts towards the general as he create a tiny fireball in his hands.

Kraktus watched as his ball of sand glass he formed was engulfed by a powerful burst of flames. His scouter beeped to life to alert him to the powerful attack. Instead of aiming it at him he aimed it at the ball he created. It was gone, nothing left. He could not manipulate nothing. "Impressive, though I think that was the wrong move for you to make." Kraktus began to float forward as Derry spoke as he asked if he had anything else other then balls of sand. "Of course." Kraktus aura flared as he rushed towards Derrick. Now things were getting serious. No need to throw the easy stuff. Derrick had gained a bit too much confidence because he had dealt with such a weak attack. Kraktus would just have to show him the difference! Kraktus aura focused around him as he grinned. "Now, lets see how you handle melee combat!" Krkatus rushed swinging his right arm forward to claw Derrick in the face. Then he'd swing up his leg leg in order to try to kick Derrick in the gut and send him flying back!

'Finally, something other than balls of sand,' Derry thought to himself as the general was now rapidly approaching him. Kraktus starts by swinging his right arm in an attempt to claw Derry in the face, to which Derry responds by leaning backwards to give himself just enough distance away to avoid the attack outright. What he didn't anticipate, however, was the incoming kick, which lands square into his stomach and the attack pushes him back several feet away, just barely standing from the shock of receiving such an attack. For a few moments after getting kicked, Derry slowly breaths in and out repeatedly, the flames in his eyes rising and falling with each breath in an attempt to get a hold of himself. "Alright, Kraktus," Derry growls at the general while regaining his composure, "Let's try this again, shall we?" This time around, Derry launches himself at the alien and attempts to overwhelm Kraktus using a flurry of punches aimed all over his body, from his face all the way down to his own gut. Once his little flurry was complete, whether or not it was effective, Derry would step away from the general and begin conjuring small fireballs in both of his hands to help prepare for what's next.
