Alarms rang like the shrill cry of a wounded animal. The cold winter's bite blew in from the broken window overlooking the city's busy street outside. Civilians screamed in confusion and fear at the scene that had begun to play out in the modest jeweler's boutique. A Konatsian, far too greedy for his own good, lay dead on the floor with severe burns across his face and throat.
Morgan scoffed and lowered her hand, the last tufts of silver flame dying around her curling fingers. The Hexen had only been out of prison for a week, and already, she could taste the garbage food in the back of her mouth again. What was supposed to have been a quick and easy robbery to get her back on her feet again had already taken a turn for the worst, with one of her crew lying dead by her own hand after he'd gotten uppity.
She eyed the gun still in his hand, the one that had been aimed for her just a few moments earlier, then turned her attention back to the matter at hand.
"New plan!" She spoke loudly and authoritatively, with a voice bolstered by her frustration. "You! Get the diamonds!" She directed one of the employees who was shaking in place, then turned her attention to another of the crew she had barely had time to get to know beforehand. "Keep an eye out for any heroic types. They always show up."
Her green eyes turned to the security cameras, one in each corner, and with a twitch of her finger, each was caused to combust in an explosion of silver, magical fire.

Wilkes' reptilian eyes scanned the scene with no hint of frustration, tail swishing back and forth. What was supposed to be an easy addition to his coffers ended up becoming a prolonged mess of a stick-up, and with how many precious seconds were being wasted a confrontation was inevitable. The cops didn't really scare him - obvious by the hybrid's lack of a disguise - but wherever cops went, Heroes were close behind. The big hitters like the Presidential Pet and smarmy Earthlings were probably occupied with more important matters than a low-class jewelry robbery, but there were legions more of superpowered wannabes that would come to try and stop them. Even if a few of the crew was exceptionally strong compared to the average mook it wouldn't mean much if they got swarmed. Morgan's sudden command urged a slight hiss from Wilkes, ultimately falling on semi-deaf ears as he took a moment to comb over a few fallen bodies.
"They'll come when they come, see. And when they do I can tell with this little beaut." God or Gods above praise scouters. Some beings could apparently sense energy through intense training, but this device did the brunt of the work for you. "An' until that happens I'll be collecting a few trinkets for myself while we wait around." After all, having to split any amount of profit already rubbed the greedy lizard the wrong way, so therein collecting whatever shinies he could as additional compensation helped abate his annoyance. "Careful to not let the clerk hit the red button under the register on their way around bagging our loot. Sirens are already blaring but if that gets hit it'll speed up response time even more." It was meant as a hostage button, and would kick the cops from thinking this as a smash and grab to a full blown shootout type situation. How did he know? Same security company outfitted all of these smaller businesses. Sta-Sec, they were called.

Garnly watched as the silver flame bearer ignited the traitor. Not being able to sense her strength threw Garnly for a loop seeing as to what she did to the Traitor. He now found it likely that it wasn't just the Lizard present who was stronger than him. Thankfully she was able to settle the problem alone. The traitor got what was deserved and now Garnly's attention was back on track - intimidation. Turns out keeping the hostages in check is quite easy when you're an 800 pound giant armored canid. The display with the silver flames also helped to solidify control over the situation, but Garnly heard the lizard warn of a button near the register and the designated employee was clearly taking advantage of his duty to collect the loot to get closer. Garnly makes his way over to the desk and blocks the path of the clerk, barring his teeth as a warning. "No." Garnly spoke clearly and without raising his voice. It was an odd juxtaposition for the current situation that made it all the more terrifying in conjunction with the piercing gaze that Garnly is giving to the employee. Garnly was starting to learn that the fewer words he spoke in situations like this, the better. His contracts were certainly getting a lot more hectic lately. After deterring the anxious clerk, Garnly quickly started trying to think of ways out of this mess. Moments later Garnly heard the sound of sirens telling him law enforcement was but a minute away. "Not long before this turns into a full on fight. We can either take them head on long enough to get the loot out or we can leave through the back before they have time to cut us off." He turns to the silver flame wielder, looking for more input.

Fortunately, the rest of her crew were more willing to play along than the now dead Konatsian. She had laughed at the lizard man, Wilkes' insistence on using a firearm, but the scouter in his possession was no doubt going to be crucial to their escape. Even the canid xenomorph and his bulk were being of use for intimidation purposes. It was giving her plenty of time to scope out additional security that their scout might have missed, seeing as how she hadn't been aware of the location of that button before now.
"Well then," she smirked as the sound of sirens hit her ears. With a flex of her wrist, a small cloud of silver smoke escaped from under the sleeve of her jacket, coalescing into the form of a large, empty sack in her waiting fingers. Two more quickly followed, and were tossed to her two compatriates. "No funny business this time. Hurry up."
As the employee quickly began to fill the magically conjured bag, the Hexen turned her attention to the nearest display to her, and smashed it with her elbow. Just as Wilkes had begun to do, she followed along and stuffed whatever of value she could into her bag and pockets.
"How far are they, Wilkes?" She called over the building tension.

The hybrid growled, straightening up as he effortlessly hoisted the newly stuffed bag of valuables with one hand. His other went to his scouter, tapping a button on the device and causing a rapid-chiming beep to sound out. "If by 'they', ya mean the regular police, they're about three minutes out. Nothing suggests that any of the big-time goodies is coming our way, though that could change at any moment, yeah. ...Well three minutes out except for this first responder." The reptilian criminal hissed, leaning outside of the store and leveling his rifle at an oncoming cruiser, sirens blaring a symphony of panic as civilians were still busy fleeing in terror. Without another word, the weapon charged up, drawing energy from its user to form a devastating bolt of pure plasma that sliced cleanly through the entire vehicle, splitting it nearly down the middle. His tongue flicked out, scouter no longer picking up a particular pair of signatures.
"...Regardless I think we should get going. I ain't scared of the regular fuzz but if they bog us down enough someone actually important might decide to swing by." By the time Garnly had blocked the clerk and Morgan had presumably filled her own sack, ETA on the police was about a minute out. Grumbling, he reached for a capsule around his belt and tossed the device out the window, a plume of colored smoke emerging as it released its payload. A covered four-seater high performance car awaited them, complete with metallic plating and tinted glass. "Katchin-alloy armor," He said briefly, striding over to the vehicle and glancing around as he moved for the driver's side door. "Nothing short of an energy blast from a big shot will go through it." Hopefully his compatriots would follow close behind, as Wilkes was not a patient man.

Garnly was still getting used to the Capsule Co. technology that summoned Wilkes’ vehicle, however he couldn’t deny the utility that making anything a lightweight, portable capsule is. Before entering the vehicle he takes the last of the goods into his own bag that’s strapped onto his side. He then turns his attention to the employees, making sure each and every bag makes it into Wilkes’ storage.
“That’s the last of it. All the loot from the employees is accounted for.”
He looks towards the silver flame to see her round up the last of her loot as well, and now it was time to leave. Garnly reluctantly gets into the back seat with his stash and waits for the rest of the crew, staying vigilant for any activity.

A large, beaming smile crossed Morgan's face as she followed her two crew mates to their getaway vehicle. The weight of her bag of loot hung satisfyingly heavy from one hand, and with a flourish of her other, she had herself some fun in the form of a quick taunt towards those who they were stealing from.
"You lot have been so good today. Thank you for your cooperation." A brief giggle escaped the Hexen before she turned, and with a small burst of silver mist, vanished from sight. Only a second or two later, she reappeared within the seat opposite of Wilkes, and settled a pair of sunglasses that had appeared in her fingers over her eyes. A goofy grin immediately followed.
"I love it when a plan comes together." Whatever frustration and betrayal she had felt before had all but been exercised from the magician, likely by the weight and shine of their loot that sat in her pockets and on the floor between her feet. Despite momentary setbacks, all that was left now was to make their escape, and that particular task fell to Wilkes and his car.
