The screams of gangsters and thugs echoed across the night sky as they were burning to death from the flames of the Stargoon. The bodies fall down to the ground one by one, leaving behind a sole survivor, a demon who was now being personally confronted by Derry himself. The demon was raised up into the air by the collar of his suit, panicking at the thought of what the former gangster had in store for him. As the demon was attempting to break himself out of the hold, Derry demands, "If ya tell me where everyone else is stored at, I'll let ya go back home." Without hesitation, the demon shouts, "Two blocks down, 'Lief's Diner' is where they at! Let me go!" Derry smirks and replies, "Now, I said that I'd let ya go back home, but let me help you out." In that moment, Derry launches a small, pink fireball directly into the chest of the lesser demon, blowing a hole through his body. The Stargoon drops the body onto the floor and mutters to himself, "Lief's Diner, eh? Guess I'll have to pay 'em a visit, then. Maybe I'll even grab some dinner, too."
Derry was sorting through South City's criminal underworld for two reasons: Find any information about the men who ambushed the Dirty Snakes, and to hopefully get some training in. Unfortunately for the former gangster, neither quota was being met as he was met with incompetent goon after incompetent goon, wasting his time with the low-lifes. Now that he has a solid grasp on where to go next, however, things might turn his way. Derry goes to light a cigarette, only to stop himself before he lit it. He stares at the stick for a few moments, then flicks it onto the demon's corpse and walks out of the alleyway. Ever since joining up with the Stargoons, he's been more and more determined to get in the best shape he possibly could, and the constant smoking has always ever so slightly weakened his body. Derry peaks both sides before emerging from said alleyway and moving towards his next destination.
