Thread PL: 99,000 | Items: Scouter (festive) In the middle of the Diablo Desert, standing beneath the scorching sunlight at noon, Derry was attempting to further push his body to its limits. Previously, he's been training himself to withstand the harshest environments, more specifically dealing with the cold. Most of his recent training has been on Mt. Frappe or even further north, but now it was time to see how well Derry would do in the middle of the desert. Since he's always had a weakness to cold, it made sense that he would be weaker in a colder environment, but the Pink Stargoon was curious as to how he would perform in one of the hottest locations on the planet. In theory, Derry thinks that his powers would be further fueled by the scorching sunlight beaming down on him, but as it turns out, it only tired him out faster than usual. Even though he was given this gift of pyromancy, Derry in the end was still human.
Blowing up cactus after cactus with his fire powers, Derry eventually gets tired of just shooting at stationary targets and decides to try out something a bit different: Making glass. Perhaps training himself to be more precise with his flames would help him gain even greater control over his power. The next question that came in mind was what to make. He could attempt a sculpture of someone he knows, maybe even give it to them as a gift, but who? At first, Derry thinks about making a sculpture of Amara, but she didn't exactly seem like the type of person who would appreciate something like that. Bamboo? Nah, she'll probably break it somehow. Mumbo? Ashi? Ticoga? It appears as if Derry was stumped on who to make a sculpture of. He shrugs to himself and mutters, "Eh, fuck it," and starts making the base of the statue, believing that he'll come up with something at a later point.

Aurora's arrival to the desert was preceded by the cool, almost arctic wind that followed the Arcosian everywhere, offshoots of her magical ability that she didn't quite have full control over at the time. It had admittedly been a long time since she had decided to leave her dwelling in the arctic and make her way once again further south. Originally she had been planning on saying hello to... old friends, acquaintances and more, but along the way the cryomancer had noted the vast expanse of desert just to her west. While usually she wouldn't have paid it any mind... well. It had been a long time since she left the arctic after all, and she hadn't tested her strength in sub-optimal environments since long before she accidentally put herself to sleep. So with that in mind she made her way toward the centre of the wastes, looking for the perfect, most isolated spot. She had an area in mind, having visited this land many times before... but as she travelled closer, Aurora's scouter beeped, detecting an energy from the same direction. And not an insignificant one, numbering nearly into the hundred thousands. Someone was getting rather close to their super transformation. How... interesting.
This interest was only piqued more as Aurora closed the distance between the two of them to the point that her eyes could make out the figure, a human that was... sending blasts of what looked to be pink flame out of his hands. To... make what looked to be the base of a statue. Huh. "I must say, even in my own overly action filled life, I don't see that often." She drawls, descending from the sky to land a little bit away from the... pyromancer, she supposed. Hm. Cryomancer and Pyromancer. This... could actually be a fortuitous meeting. "Hello. My name is Aurora Arctos." She gives a small bow, one arm tucked at her stomach. "Sorry to approach you all the way out here whilst you trained, but..." She holds a hand out, a crystalline shard of ice forming, floating above her palm before the entire arm was overcome by jagged and black ice. "I feel that we may benefit from having a conversation. Wouldn't you agree?" She finishes, tilting her head as he tail swishes behind her, admittedly somewhat excitedly. Magic was a rare find for her, let alone one that seemed to be her own focus' exact opposite. ...Unless it was like that one particular shinjin she met, that could use it for anything.
...She had admittedly been envious of that particular one.

By the time the Pink Stargoon finished with creating the glass base of the statue, Derry wasn't given time to think about what kind of statue to make now that there was a new arrival. A sudden chill invaded his body as his scouter sunglasses start beeping that there was someone approaching him from behind. He stands back up from the ground, slowly turns around, and meets an arcosian who seems to bring winter with her. Derry's scouter sunglasses scanned the new arrival and read out a power level of 170,000, way higher than Derry's current power level. He was taken aback at first given the new arrival's shear strength, but collects himself and waits for her to speak.
The arcosian introduces herself as Aurora Arctos, and she begins by apologizing for interrupting Derry's training session. Before he could speak, Aurora creates some sort of crystal in her hand before her entire arm is covered in some sort of black ice. It didn't exactly take a genius to figure out just what was going on here: She's a cryomancer, and quite the adept one. She then states that the two of them would benefit from conversation between the two, but Derry could see that simple talk wasn't entirely what she really wanted, given the tail movements. Maybe she was just looking for a conversation, but in the even that she wants something more, then it would be best to at least get on her good side.
"Well, hello there, Aurora," the gangster replies as he puts his hands into his pockets, "The name's Derrick Ottoy, friends call me Derry. You weren't exactly interruptin' anything too important. I've just been blowin' up the occasional cactus and well, there's this little guy right 'ere." The Pink Stargoon proceeds to lightly tap the glass base with the tip of his shoe. "I'm experimentin' with some glass work, debating to myself on what I'm making. Anyway, yeah, I suppose I'm up for conversation. What brings you out 'ere?" As the former gangster asks Aurora about her purpose, another blast of cold wind washes over him, once again chilling him to the core. Perhaps he already knows the answer to his question, considering the fact that he's been hanging around in the arctic earlier to better resist the cold. Perhaps it's just her luck that she just so happens to run into someone who could test her prowess in cryomancy.

"You now. And I typically like to create busts for when I make them." She responds, looking at the glass with a critical eye. Amateur at best, but considering her was making it out of nothing but controlled flame with random bits of unfiltered sand... not bad at all. A wave of her hand had the ice began to move over the glass, shearing off the course and rough bits and embellishing the base with intricate little details and swirling patterns. She had, after all spent many a day holed up in Mt. Frappe crafting statues with her own powers as a way of regaining control over it, and how ironic it was that her seeming opposite here was doing much the same. Although the why wasn't known to her. "Although originally it was to see how well my magic performed in areas with high amounts of heat, as I've spent far too much time in the colder climates, mostly out of a... racial preference, I suppose is the term for it. I'm not sure how many Arcosians you've met, but we tend to favour arctic climates due to our planetary heritage. While we're far too evolved to suffer from heat in places such as this or Bepis, it isn't exactly... comfortable."
She tilts her horned head at him, eyes narrowing as she takes the human in. There was something... familiar. Hm. "Well, anyway, it's nice to meet you, Derrick. I don't suppose it's too forward to ask you would be up for a spar? I'm more than capable of limiting my own power output to match yours, and I'd very much like to see how our magics worked when they meet. ...I presume it is magic, yes? I don't see any cybernetic augments, and humans can't usually shoot fire." She moved to walk around the man, as if taking him in in his entirety. He was well dressed, which was a point to him. Most likely either... Hm. Perhaps he knew Dion? It was likely, but she wouldn't ask yet. Best not to overwhelm the man with too many questions. It was rather odd though... He was nearly into the same bracket range of power as the Arcosian, and yet before her involuntary long nap she had never even heard of him, nor met him. She knew humans could grow quickly, but it was still surprising to see. At least it leant credence to her theory about Miru.

As Aurora was eyeing the base that Derry has made, she mentions that she's been doing something similar as well, albeit with the opposite power. Using ice to create a statue as opposed to physically having to melt the sand and create glass that way is probably less tedious. "See, I've tried to get myself a new hobby, and I thought that perhaps making glass statues would fill that role nicely. I get to use my flames in a less than traditional manner, and I'm not bored to death." Aurora then goes on about her reason as to why she came out all the way into the middle of the desert. Apparently, she thought that it would be a nice change of pace to push herself by moving to a hot climate and seeing how well her ice handles the heat. Derry's mental assumption was proven correct. She also talks about how arcosians themselves aren't exactly well adjusted to the heat naturally either, which Derry has come to expect since he's already met both Ticoga and Piezo, although Piezo was technically an android, so he probably doesn't completely count. "Really? Interestingly enough, I've been hangin' around the Mt. Frappe area and even went all the way up to the Tsurumai-Tsuburi mountains to train. I plan on goin' back there soon, but I wanted to at least relax in a more... fitting environment for a bit. I've also previously met a couple of other arcosians before, so there's that. The name Piezo probably wouldn't ring a bell since he's just recently been activated, but by chance do you know of one named Ticoga?"
As the two kept talking, Aurora seems to be studying Derry's appearance. Was there something familiar off about him? Familiar? He certainly hasn't met this arcosian before, but perhaps it would be best if he didn't bring anything up. She then continues by offering to spar with the Pink Stargoon, which given her massive power level, Derry was about to consider declining. He's already got the rest of the goons to beat the shit out of him, so does he really need another person to bring the pain? His mind was changed when Aurora mentions that she can actually lower her own power level and fight effectively in such a state, which peaked Derry's interest. At best, all he could do was mask his power level to a lower value, but the moment he actually uses any of his abilities, the façade would be up, and his actual power level would be revealed. Aurora also makes a comment that she guesses that Derry's fire was some form of magic. This wasn't the first time this whole magic stuff was brought up to him, but Derry never really looked deep into the whole thing. "Magic? Maybe it is. I was just ten when I was hangin' around with other kids, when suddenly, BAM, this happens," Derry replies as he conjures up a small pink fireball in his hand. "I never really thought 'bout it too much. I guess it's magic. I don't have a piece of metal at all, at least, as far as I'm aware. I bleed just like anyone else. But yeah, I've got plenty of time to waste. I'll take up your offer." Derry wasn't quite sure if he trusts this stranger enough to reveal that he's the Pink Stargoon, but perhaps once he gets to know who she really is, he'll likely mention it at some point. Regardless, Derry takes his scouter sunglasses off and places them by the glass base, his brown eyes gleaming with excitement from the challenge. "Just keep in mind I'm your target and not the base and glasses, alright?"

Ticoga? Ahhh. There it is, the clue she needed. This man was a human, so doubtful he worked directly with the Arcosian placed in charge of Arcose by Kayen since Nashua's absence from ruling. The Arcosians rarely tended to involve other races. He also didn't immediately recognise her, so it was evident that he hadn't been hanging around in Saiyan controlled territory for too long or he no doubt would remember her wanted posters. But if he was on the seemingly friendly terms with Ticoga that it sounded like... That meant that either the Arcosian was no longer under the strict and watchful eye of the Saiyans, or... Derry here was Stargoon related. Perhaps even one of them, given his power level and generally overarching theme of pink. Those boisterous idiots did so like their little colour schemes. Of course she obviously wasn't going to say anything for now. At best she was right, and suddenly the situation would be more serious. At worst she was wrong and she'd just called a perfectly nice and reasonable man an intergalactic criminal with but the slightest of evidence. But that didn't mean she didn't have to lie to him either.
"Perhaps try with rock, instead of sand? You typically need purified, specialised sand to make proper glass, but if you instead worked on rock you could focus your flames down to a singular point, much like a laser. Both good training, and good art when you master it." She offers the idea, coming to a stop in front of him. "And yes, I have met Ticoga, if not this Piezo. He seemed a... driven man, although we certainly have had our disagreements in the past." The arcosian watched as he too of his glasses and put them down, a small smile coming to her face at the acceptance of her offer. Closing her eyes, she frowns for a moment as her power dropped to match his own. It was... uncomfortable, admittedly. Like attempting to keep an overblown balloon from popping, as she locked her power in her cracked heart gem. "If you wish, I will also relegate myself to the forms I only had available at the time of me having such a power level? Those would be the restrictions my people place on themselves for tactical and... health reasons, as opposed to other ones I have developed during my time here." She offers him, even as the Arcosian moved to settle into a stance pointed away from his glasses, a trio of icy orbs floating behind her.

Yet again, Aurora was closely studying Derry as if something was completely off about him. The Pink Stargoon wasn't exactly used to this sort of behavoir, since most street thugs would just run away in terror because of who he was. Was she trying to figure out just who he was? Considering how little Derry knows about Aurora, he'll have to be careful about what to reveal to her. Should she have ties with the Stargoons, then this wouldn't be so bad after all, but if she has some sort of gripe with them, things could get a bit messy. "Something wrong? You've been staring at me for quite a while now. There isn't somethin' on my face, is there?" Aurora then suggests utilizing rocks instead of sand due to purity issues. He guesses she has a point, and replies, "Yeah, I suppose that's true enough. You won't believe how long I've been flyin' around here just looking for some decent quality sand. I've also experimented with usin' my fire as a blowtorch before. Hell, I run a mechanic shop over in Central. Or, at least, I used to." In that moment, Derry realizes that he has no shop left, not after what happened to the Dirty Snakes a few weeks ago. He goes silent for a moment, his expression motionless before snapping back to life and continuing, "You got a point there." The arcosian also mentions knowing who Ticoga is, which calms him down a bit. Although she apparently has had disagreements with the man, she was likely on good terms with the other arcosian. "Yeah, I don't know if ya heard, but he's recently landed on Earth. Says he's lookin' for some Earth recipes. Hell, we even went over to a burger joint when he landed with his android friend."
Once Derry put his scouter sunglasses down, he notices that Aurora wasn't exactly looking nearly as strong as she was before. The cool winds that have been blowing by have died down a bit, and she looks a bit uncomfortable. "Well I'll be damned, you really can just lower your power level like that. I could always lower mine, but to fight at such a level is next to impossible. I usually just... let go at that point." Surprisingly, Aurora also offers to restrict her transformations to better match Derry's current access to transformations. "How generous of you. I know that if I don't take such a handicap, I would be severely disadvantaged. I ain't prideful to the point where I would refuse such an offer. Alright, let's have a go then, shall we?" Derry asks as he conjures a second fireball in his other hand. Judging from the floating orbs behind Aurora, she might launch them at the Pink Stargoon to distract him before potentially closing the distance between the two. This was, however, a very early assumption on his part. Derry doesn't completely know Aurora's fighting style, so the safe move in this case would be to act defensively for now and see what she's capable of.

"Oh, nothing aside from the usual." She chuckles at his question, the Arcosian settling into a wide stance, one arm pulled back and her fist clenched as the orbs above her head bobbed up and down. She was... admittedly surprised that apparently Ticoga was here upon earth. While it was no doubt a hub of activity throughout the galaxy, she was still a little amused that even he had been lured here by whatever strange magnetism the odd little mud ball had. ...Although the thing about recipes and burgers hardly meshed well with her impression of the Arcosian. He seemed far too... formal, and to eat out with Derry almost certainly solidified the idea that she was looing up at a Stargoon. It as an odd feeling, really. Almost every single goon she had researched had been quite clearly stronger than she herself, and yet she had no doubt that if it was truly life or death, she could quite easily wipe the floor with this man. What were their standards for entry? Were there any? Hm. Perhaps she had thrown away a potential opportunity by showing herself to them that one time, as opposed to attempting to infiltrate the group.
She tilts her heads at his comments about lowering her power level, before smirking a little. "That's a start. I had the same problem for a while too, before I managed to figure it out. You'll get there eventually if you can already disguise it." She reassures him, remembering all those times in her cave practicing the very same technique. It had admittedly taken even her some time, but if any species could attempt to match the Arcosian's natural talents with sheer growth, it would be the humans. But... this was no longer the time for introspection. The man had sumoned a second ball of flame, and Aurora was eager to test herself out. So, with a grunt, the fight began. A wave of her arm shattered done of the balls above her head, splintering it into a variety of shards and spikes that sailed through the air towards the human with the intent of forcing him on the defensive. All she really needed was a singular distraction, as the woman then closed the distance. One arm raised to deflect whatever instinctive fire blast he may try with his palm, moving to use the back of her forearm to push any outthrust to the side, even as her other darted to attempt to plant itself firmly in his stomach.

Aurora chuckles at Derry's question regarding her study of him, which somewhat concerns him. At this point, he was sure that the arcosian was trying to figure out his identity. When dealing with someone of Aurora's considerable strength, he'll have to be real careful not to let anything slip. For all he knows, she could despise the Stargoons and might attempt to kill him should he be a member, but then again, there's always the option that she either doesn't care or is on friendly terms with them. If worst comes to worst, he'll have to start thinking about a potential way out, although it would be difficult considering Aurora's true strength. Now, however, wasn't the time to run imaginary scenarios in his head that might ultimately not come to fruition as Aurora begins to prepare her first attack against the Pink Stargoon.
One of the orbs that were floating around Aurora shatters and tiny pieces of ice take off towards Derry. Instinctively, Derry launches one of the small fireballs at the incoming shards, easily melting the spikes while the fireball itself dissipates. When Derry looks back to where Aurora was, however, she was missing, and he quickly looks to his left and spots the arcosian very quickly closing the distance between them. The Stargoon launches the second fireball at his opponent, only for Aurora to easily deflect the ball and further close the distance between the two. Aurora then swings her fist aimed directly at his stomach, but in just the nick of time, Derry uses his Flame Shield Technique to conjure a wall of pink fire between the two combatants. Aurora's fist clashes with the barrier, and while the barrier succeeds in stopping the attack, the Flame Shield fades away. "Heh, that was pretty fast, but not fast enough." Seizing an opportunity now that Aurora was right in front of him, Derry attempts to grab hold of the arcosian with the intent of performing a suplex to get her down onto the ground. Regardless of whether or not it works, Derry will take a step back and begin to conjure at least two more fireballs in preparation for Aurora's next move.

Bounding along the sands of Diablo Desert, a rather tall Satyr woman was making quick work of traversing the distance in a bid to make her way back to Central City. There was another matter she’d wanted to talk to Carro about in regards to the Stargoons that she’d heard of. Mumbo, Amara and even this ‘Maple’ that she’d heard of from Kraktus so many months ago had all been a part of this organization that she knew was meant for people of a much… negative viewpoint in the world. While she carried no ill will toward this bunch - and even deigned to respect their diverse crew of chaotic companions - the fact of the matter was clear- Earth was not exactly safe with them and their mission. She’d personally felt the chasm of power when she fought and lost against Amara and if she had to make the decision to protect the planet she was possessive of or allow the Stargoons to do as they pleased… Zriracha huffed through her nose, bounding onto a large spikey boulder that didn’t quite seemed to fit the sands around it, “I made a spell to resurrect the dead but it’s no use if I’M dead,” She’d learned that the hard way. If Polarus knew she’d been so foolish- Just before she was about to bound back onto the ‘road’, a curious scent caught her attention and had her turn her head in a different direction. “Hm? That’s quite strong… Two of them,” She could see something glint and glimmer in the distance where she felt the energies. With a sound of contemplation, glancing in the direction Central City was and back to the mysterious powers, the Satyr gave a sigh and changed course, “Curse my curiosity,” She mumbled and bound from the rock in one massive jump. Landing only a few feet from what appeared to be the beginning of a glass construct, Zriracha cocked her head curiously at it before turning to the two powers that were apparently having a small tussle. She eyed the pair-haired male and found him to be more or less normal for a person in the desert before she turned to the Arcosian, Their appearances are so diverse! And are they-? She visibly scented the air, tasting and confirming her silent question. “So it is magic that I sensed! Well, color me surprised to have found two more magicians on Earth!” She held a hand to her chest and bowed, “Pardon the intrusion. I am known as Zriracha of Chakkapak. I felt your battle and couldn’t help myself but to investigate.”She stood back to her full height, “Is this a spar or have you two come to some kind of disagreement?” She glanced at the statue, an eyebrow raised, before she looked back and tossed a thumb toward the glass. “Did someone break this?” Aurora Arctos

"Mm." Aurora responds to Derry's taunt, her knuckles smarting somewhat from the wall of flame that had somehow managed to produce enough force behind them for her blow to be deflected. So not only was her capable of conjuring fire, it seemed that it was less of a creationary ability such s her own, and closer to a sort of... engine. There was proper force behind said flames, which could be intensified or lessened at will. How so very interesting... as was his style of fighting. It was rare for Aurora to encounter someone else capable of using proper techniques, and so the Arcosian was pleasantly surprised when he moved to suplex her. With a grunt at the feeling of his arms around her, Aurora's tail wraps around Derry's leg, and her foot around his other as she resisted being thrown to the ground, her arms straining and flexing against his own to free herself, before the man let go and moved away. "No you don't." She murmurs, half to herself as the Arcosian launches off of the ground with enough force to crack it, following the pyromancer and attempting to stay well within his guard. It seemed his flames would have the best use at range, so she would need to deny him o that advantage.
Her form blurring, Aurora moves to attempt a clap on either side of his head. Discombobulate. Deflect the incoming attack via his arms. Then, a kick to the knee. Not enough to properly damage, but to push him to his knees. After that, test their magics with the summoning of an ice hammer. Then she could- The barrages of attacks stopped s a new voice interrupted them, Aurora stopping where she was and turning to the newcomer. "Zriracha... I've heard that name before." She responds, raising a brow. "You know Polarus, and that cat, Whiskers I believe?" She asks, taking in the first demon she think she had ever seen. It was... supposedly pretty evident, her true nature, what with the various markings and furred legs with cloven hooves. "...And no, this is a spar, as we too are capable of using magic. I wanted to see how the two principles interacted. I... suppose you are welcome to join, so long as Derry here is okay with it. Derry?" The arcosian turns, eyebrow still raised questioningly at him. To be completely honest the idea of getting to also see how a demon's magics worked and interacted with her own was rather exciting for Aurora, but she could understand being overwhelmed with all this new attention t once, and the Arcosian was patient and prudent. She could wait if he wasn't happy with the idea.

On the bright side, at least Derry succeeded in grabbing hold of Aurora. Unfortunately for the Pink Stargoon, Aurora was quick to react and utilizes both her tail and one of her feet to wrap around Derry's legs and resist the suplex. Seeing as how he's in a bit of a sticky situation, Derry lets Aurora go and falls back to his ultimate plan of preparing more fireballs to launch at the arcosian. He manages to conjure one up before Aurora rushes in a second time and attempts to take a swing at the Stargoon, first clapping her two hands against the sides of Derry's head. His vision goes blurry for a moment and he could hear some ringing in the background before turning his attention back at his assaulter. Derry quickly swings his arms to strike the arcosian, only for her to incercept the attack and retaliate with a kick to the knee. He swiftly dodges backwards a few inches to just barely avoid the kick only to now be met with a giant ice hammer coming in to clobber him. Derry takes the one fireball he conjured earlier and moves it in front of him to counter the hammer, or at least he would've, had someone else not arrived on the scene.
Zriracha of Cakkapak was the intruder, a name the Pink Stargoon wasn't quite familar with, nor has he ever heard of this place called Cakkapak. Judging from her appearance, however, it was somewhat safe to conclude that this Zriracha was some sort of demon, given the horns and overuse of black and red. "I myself am not too familiar with you. The most I've heard were a mention every now and then from some of my comrades back at base, not much else besides that." As Derry watches Aurora talk about the context regarding the fight, Derry glances back at his sunglasses that were still by the glass base. If only he still had them on him, he would be able to read this demon's power level, but he decides to just let it sit there for now. After all, this Zriracha doesn't seem too hostile, at least, right now. "As for the glass over there, I was making a glass statue earlier. It's a bit of a hobby I've picked up recently, actually. I only got so far as the base since I couldn't think of what kind of statue to make. Aurora here then shows up and wanted to do some sparring, and, well, here we are." Aurora then makes the suggestion that Zriracha can join in on the fun as well, to which Derry replies, "I don't see why not. It'll be the first time in a long while since I've sparred against multiple opponents. Conveniently enough, that also took place here in the same desert." Derry moves a couple of steps away from Aurora and takes the opportunity to conjure up two more fireballs, but this time, they won't just be for Aurora, but should Zriracha get in on the action, he'll just dedicate one of them to her. "Now, whenever you're ready."

To her shock and surprise, Zriracha would reel back at the knowledge that someone she’d never met knew of her existence prior. Was this the sign that the universe was regaling her of her own exploits? Had she earned the favor of the very forces of nature she’d believed in and made an impact in the grand design she’d always imagined? Alas, it was much simpler than that; the clarification that it was her bond with Polarus and Whiskers whom she’d missed so much that had sold her out. She gave a nod of acceptance, “You are correct. Those two are very dear to me, though I-” She paused, not quite trusting of this woman to divulge a potential emotional weakness. Instead, she took advantage of the explanation the Arcosian gave and got back on track, “I would not mind joining in, though I am afraid I cannot stay for long.” She finished with a contrite expression. “I’d be happy to share any knowledge of magic I have, however little I can provide.” Similarly, it appeared that Aurora’s companion also had no personal knowledge of her - second-hand mentions from others that knew her being his only reference. She glanced back at the glass work in progress as he mentioned his interest and Zriracha gave a soft hum of intrigue, “I could imagine… for irony, a dolphin would look nice.” It was hardly a serious suggestion, evidenced by the amused look on her face as she looked to Derry. Upon him accepting her as an opponent, however, Zriracha was quick to kick off the ground with her hooves and approach with frightening speed. Amidst movement, Zriracha hissed, ”Ready!" before attempting a headbutt with the hardest part of her head. She was careful to avoid potentially gouging him with her horns and bound backwards to slide against the sand with a grin. Aurora Arctos

Aurora raised a brow at Derry as he mentioned comrades, apparently back at a base. "Oh. Are you part of a group?" She asks, half out of curiosity and half out of politeness, the Arcosian still flicking her eyes every now and then to the demon. How... odd. She'd never met one before. This was the same species as the one called Sensoa? The difference in power and impact seemed like night and day. She had always thought that demons were a natural rival to their more... mortal counterparts, in her own kin. But as it stood she could most likely take the both of them at the same time. How odd, it was, that every race seemed to still need to conform to the basics of this material plane. Even those not born of it. Still, it seemed that this Zriracha was more than willing to play ball, and that was something Aurora couldn't help but be pleased by. It was a rare day she saw aa single other person capable of using magic, and now two had come along. A human, which don't often have the natural capability, and a Demon who's race is renowned for it.
Aurora didn't have much to add to what the pair of them were talking about, and so instead waited for the fight to begin anew. And begin it did, with Derry darting back and conjuring up a pair of twinned fireballs, and Zriracha dashing forward to meet him in an attempted headbutt. Aurora had to admit, even as the flames from the fireball no doubt raged from his counter attack, she felt a little left out. Oh well. There was a way to fix that. As the demon moved backward to gain some space, she would find a wall of ice formed behind her, one that quickly moved forward in an attempt to slam the demon back into the human, Aurora standing a little bit away. Likewise, Derry would feel ice begin to creep up his legs as she attempted to hold the man in place to take the hit in the form of a flying goat lady. Success or fail Aurora would then move to close the distance between her and Derry, her tail lashing out in an attempt to smack into his side and her hands creating jagged icicles to shoot towards Zriracha.

As Zriracha and Aurora talk to each other, Derry takes his time to further analyze just who he was dealing with now. If he's dealing with a demon in a more traditional sense, then it's safe to say that she just might also use some fire related techniques, although there would certainly be a spin on them. For now, he'll have to wait and see just what exactly Zriracha's fighting style was really like. The conversation soon shifts back to him as Zriracha suggests creating a statue of a dolphin, to which the gangster rubs his chin in thought and replies, "An interesting prospect. All this time I've been thinkin' about doing people, but I suppose starting things out with an animal would probably be a bit easier." Derry only ever started up glasswork once he joined up with the Stargoons, and it hasn't even been a month since that day. Aurora also asks Derry about being in a group, and he hesitates for a moment. Again, he doesn't know if he could trust this acrosian with this kind of information, so he'll have to pick his next set of words carefully. After thinking for a few seconds, Derry responds, "Yeah, we kinda just go around doin' contract work whenever we get the chance. I only joined up recently."
Derry's focus on Aurora was broken once Zriracha begins to charge at the Pink Stargoon. She leads a charge at Derry headfirst, so it was clear to him that the demo intends on headbutting him. Right before Zriracha could make contact, Derry lifts his leg up and uses his calf to absorb the blow. Seeing an opportunity, Derry releases one of his small fireballs into Zriracha's back. As the demon moves away after the headbutt, Derry is pushed back several feet and he crouches down to rub the spot where Zriracha's head made contact in an attempt to ease the ache. "I know they say that you should use your head in battle, but I don't really think that's quite what they meant," Derry jokes as he stands back up and moving around his leg. It was only at this point, however, that the Stargoon realizes that Aurora hasn't been standing around doing nothing this whole time. He notices an ice wall forming up behind the demon and it is launched towards her, possibly in an attempt to push her back towards Derry.
Considering how sore his leg feels, Derry wasn't quite up for taking the blow once again, but speaking of his legs, they felt a bit colder than usual. Derry's eyes widen as he stares down at his legs, now frozen to the sandy ground below him. Slamming Zriracha into Derry was Aurora's plan all along, there's no doubt at this point. Using one hand to melt the ice on one leg while using his other hand to launch the second fireball at his other leg, Derry swiftly frees himself from his icy prison, only to be met with a blow to his side from the arcosian. After once again getting launched back a few feet, Derry decides that he's had enough of this and begins to create more and more fireballs, suspending each one in the air as he creates them. With one group of fireballs, he launches them in a random pattern towards Zriracha while creating a line of fire on the ground in front of him. Should Aurora get the idea of closing the distance between them again, Derry might use Flame Shield to force her away.
