The Atmosphere of the Burning Spirits Bar and Grill was certainly lively today. Many of the patrons were deep in gossip about daily drama or were having jaunty banter with each other, betting over which baseball team would win the game today. One character, however, seems quite out of place in the liveliness of it all. In a corner of the room not quite as populated as the rest of the bar is a masked figure with a cane wearing a green suit and a bower hat. The man is tapping his foot and twiddling with his fingers as if restless. It turns out sitting near all of the action is not quite enough to cure Mirin's boredom. As much as Mirin wants interaction though, none of these civilians' power levels are interesting enough to warrant his attention. Should he drink away his boredom? Try another bar? Maybe crash a popular dojo? Where could a guy find some talent?
"Another beer, if you would be so kind waitress." With each new patron entering Mirin finds his hopes of intrigue begin to falter, and is mind begins to think of the other places he's been to in West City. Having not been here more than a few weeks he has only been able to try a few of the different social gathering spots; none of which displaying what Mirin wants. At this point the sound of starting his own trouble is mighty enticing. however he has a few drinks yet until such measures are taken. For now he continues to keep his eye on the new faces walking in and takes the periodic swig of beer until he needs yet another.

Thread PL: 120,000 | Items: Scouter (Festive) After constantly training to the death for the past few days, Derry decides to finally take a break and relax for a while. While the Pink Stargoon was taking a stroll along the sidewalk looking for a potential bite to eat, he catches a certain sign out of the corner of his eye: Burning Spirits Bar and Grill. Perhaps it was because he hasn't visited West City very often, but Derry assumes that this could potentially be a new restaurant erected since the last time he was here talking to that strangely reserved saiyan. He hasn't had a good burger in quite some time since all he's been feeding on was fish for the past few weeks, so this will be a nice change of pace. Derry peaks into the restaurant and presses a button on top of his sunglass scouter. His lens light up and display the power levels of every single person in the vicinity. As he anticipated, there were only a bunch of people whose power levels were somewhere between 5 and 20. Just in case, though, Derry makes sure he is still using his ki suppression technique to lower his power level down to 27.
The Pink Stargoon fully enters the restaurant and takes in the scenery: A horde of baseball fans crowded around while watching their favorite teams compete, some regular restaurant goers trying their best to ignore all the noise that the fans are making, and... someone rather peculiar was sitting in a corner booth all by himself. For being in a sports bar, the stranger does seem to be well dressed as if he was on lunch break at the local bank. Perhaps he could grab some extra cash off of him once he's done with this place, but what also drew his attention was that he was wearing a mask as well. Derry uses his scouter to focus in on the individual in the corner, but it just displayed yet another low power level. Derry's attention is broken as one of the waitresses comes over and asks, "Why hello there! Would you like a booth or a seat?" "Booth will do just fine, thank you." The waitress smiles back at the former gangster and she leads him to a booth not too far from that stranger in the corner. She sets down a menu, utensils, a plate, and a napkin for Derry and then asks, "My name's Fis, and I'll be serving you today. Would you like anything to drink?" "Water with lemon would be fine." Fis nods and leaves Derry to go get the Stargoon his water.
Derry once again glances back at the stranger sitting in the corner of the bar, analyzing just about everything that he could about this mysterious man. If worst comes to worst, perhaps he's hiding his power level from him and is attempting to lay low. There was one method to check, but perhaps he should wait for now.

Mirin is still watching each new face as they enter, none piquing his interest until a well dressed, pink haired human entered the scene. He wears a red and green colored scouter and seems to hit a button on it as he enters the room. His power level seems barely above that of anyone else in this room, but it is strange that he would have a scouter at such low power level. This man probably has connections, and if not connections then maybe he's somehow more powerful than he's letting on. After all, Mirin could hide his own so it wasn't out of the question. Most importantly though, this new conundrum kept Mirin's insatiable boredom in check, if only for a moment.
One of the waitresses moves to meet the pink haired man and sit him down at a nearby booth. After the waitress leaves to get the mans order, Mirin takes one last sip from underneath his mask, picks up his cane, and decides to learn more about this intriguing spark in such a dull scene. Mirin goes to meet the curious figure at their booth and sits across from them. Setting his cane down next to him he sits with authority. Mirin rests his elbows on the table and clasps his hands together, as if about to head a meeting. And then he speaks, "That's a nice scouter you have there, I've not seen one with two different colored lenses before." The waitress comes back with a drink for the one sitting across from him. "Here's your drink sir. Oh hello, are you going to order as well?" Mirin at this point had almost forgot about his surroundings, so transfixed on the possibilities of how the human before him came into the possession of a scouter before being brought back into reality for a second. "No, thank you. I've already been waited on by one of the other waitresses." She nods and then looks to the other for the rest of his order. Meanwhile Mirin loses himself yet again to the maze of thoughts that rushes through his head. The juxtapositioning of the miniscule power level with the ownership of the scouter was the most brain candy Mirin had in a while, and he'd be damned if he let the puzzle go unfinished. Mirin waits for the pink haired man to finish his order before awaiting a response to his curiosity.

While Derry was waiting around for his drink, he keeps his eye on the stranger in the corner until the man decides to get up from his booth on his own accord. The stranger changes booths so that he was now sitting across from the Pink Stargoon, practically confirming that there's something up with this guy. For now, Derry remains silent and waits for the stranger to speak up. He very much doubts that he's in any particular danger all things considered. Sure enough, the stranger before his speaks and states that he hasn't seen a scouter quite like Derry's before, to which the Pink Stargoo responds, "Heh, thanks kid. Special gift from one of my co-workers. They double as both a scouter and actually functioning sunglasses. Saves me the hassle of switching between the two. I like that mask ya got there. Simple design, yet effective. Although I do have to wonder why someone would be wearing one in public." Strangers don't tend to walk up to other strangers and ask about the scouters they're wearing, so Derry wonders just what this man was up to. After waiting around for a couple of seconds, Fis returns with Derry's drink and sets it down on top of a napkin. Derry thanks Fis for the drink right before the waitress inquires about this new man sitting across from the former gangster, wondering if he's looking to order as well.
As the stranger was talking about how he was waited by another employee, Derry sees this as an ample opportunity to 'switch' things up. For a split second, Derry stops hiding his ki, allowing anyone who could sense ki to read his true power level of 120,000. After that brief moment, Derry once again reduces his power level, this time setting it to 32. Perhaps the stranger would have some sort of reaction to such a surge of power. Fis turns her attention towards Derry and asks the Pink Stargoon, "Are you ready to order?" Derry turns his attention back to the menu and quickly scans it, searching for their burger section. After a bit of searching, he spots an entrée that appears rather appetizing and requests, "Yeah, I'll take the Burning Burger, add bacon, hold the ketchup, cooked medium rare, and with a side of seasoned fries." The waitress nods and takes the menu away from Derry before leaving to tend to some of the other customers. "So, what's your deal then?" Derry asks the stranger as he takes a sip out of his water. "You some sort of robber? Trying to hide your face so that you aren't caught? You clearly have quite a bit to tell, that much is certain."

Before Mirin was completely lost in thought again, the pink-haired man replied to the question of his scouter. It was a gift from a co-worker, meaning the man before him had strong connections of some kind. The man then retorted with an observation of his own, Mirin's mask. Why wear a Mask in public? "Where I come from it's taboo to take off one's mask." It's now that the waitress returns and gives the man his drink. Afterwards, while the waitress was inquiring Mirin to see if he was ordering anything, the energies surrounding them were suddenly overwhelmingly volatile. The Power that the human displayed before Mirin was far and beyond higher than what Mirin was prepared for, and it made him giddy. The power quickly subsided and went down to a little higher than what it was before the flareup, but Mirin understood now. Before him was an incredibly powerful being (at least compared to what he's seen). And now that the man finished his order, the waitress finally left to wait on other patrons. Now they could converse undisturbed.
Mirin was no longer sitting in a calm, business like fashion. He now sat on the edge of his seat, head cocked to the side and leaning forward. "So that's what you've been hiding, huh?" The Excitement was impossible to subdue. Mirin was expecting power, but not that over seven times his own! While Mirin pondered the new possibilities this realization had created, the man had more questions. What was Mirin's "deal?" His "deal" was certainly not that of a robber. "As much as I like valuables, I do not rob people. Robbing implies force is used, and I am not that unprofessional. Though it's not like I can't fight. If you need a word to describe what I do, Thievery would be more accurate." This was a good chance for Mirin to pay back the display of power with a display of his own. Mirin takes this moment to change his face into that of Fis, "And I've just the toolset for it." Although Mirin had only been here a few weeks, he had already grown accustomed to mimicking human features down to the most minute of details, even their voice. He could quickly observe and copy the waitress with less than a minute of interaction. Once Mirin finished this display, he quickly changes his guise back to that of the mask before anyone else could see.
Mirin was now trying to get as much information as he could. He already surmised that the man isn't an authority of the law. He is still hiding his power level after all, even after the flareup. And the way he cautiously entered the bar is not something law enforcement would worry about. Maybe with how open Mirin's been with his end, this power would return the favor in kind. "I've told you my job, maybe you could tell me at least a little bit about yours? Just between us, of course."

The stranger explains that he can't take his mask off due to the fact that it would be considered taboo where he's from. His eyebrows lower ever so slightly, not entirely believing this statement. This guy has to have something else going on in the background, he could just feel it. Once Derry lowered his power level, the stranger seems a bit shocked, yet almost excited like a little kid watching the latest toy commercial and immediately deciding that they want it now. It's clear at this point that this individual poses no physical threat to the Pink Stargoon considering how taken aback he was when he revealed his actual power. Now that Fis was out of the way, Derry now has to bide his time waiting for his meal. He might as well entertain this man while he waits, it's not like he has anything better to do at the moment.
The stranger mentions Derry's incredible power, to which the Pink Stargoon replies, "So you can sense energy, eh? Consider it a little test to see a little deeper into who you really were. Can't let my guard down just about anywhere these days." Once Derry asks whether or not the stranger was any sort of robber, he appeared slightly insulted at the fact that he would accuse him of such a thing. He claims that he isn't so unprofessional as to rob someone through force, to which Derry responds, "Flattering." The stranger claims that the word thievery would better describe his line of work, and just before the former gangster could respond, the stranger's face suddenly shapeshifts into a rather familiar face. Now he was staring right at the face of Fis, the waitress who was tending to Derry earlier. Quite an interesting power, perfect for thievery, especially since he can even perfectly replicate their voice as well. Perhaps this man has a point, after all. As the stranger reverts his face back to its original look, Derry can't help but smirk at the whole thing and respond, "Quite a neat ability, I would say. Also interesting that you would just openly reveal this sort of stuff to someone like me. You must either have a lot of faith in strangers, or you're just a little green."
While Derry was still waiting on his meal to arrive, the stranger asks if he would share any information about his line of work. "Heh, I suppose that's fair enough, kid. Alright, I used to be an enforcer for a gang in Central City. I became boss for a while until everything... kinda just ended." Derry's face grows a bit darker than usual, only for him to pick right back up from where he was, "Since then, I've been working for this sort of mercenary group. We take up jobs whenever we can and whatever it is so long as it isn't particularly legal. Personally, I would hope that they would stretch out the business, but hey, I'm still fresh in the group, so what can I realistically do?" Derry didn't want to reveal too much information about the Stargoons right away considering the fact that he doesn't completely know whether or not this stranger would truly keep his mouth shut about their conversation.
